Looking at the chart it has rallied off a bottom in the past few weeks.
Buying on the dip under a level it hasn't seen for some time.

Just may move over that $1.00 after all...
I believe a serious gap up breakout coming very soon.
Huge Gap to fill between 95c and $1.75
Look at SCON, up 300% in a month. CNXT up 150%. All filled their gap.
PWAV has a history of shooting way up.
PWAV, with a market cap of $112 million, is still no where near its potential.

And I didn't even mention the chart pattern...

Falling Wedge (Reversal) Pattern

The falling wedge is a bullish pattern that begins wide at the top and contracts as prices move lower. This price action forms a cone that slopes down as the reaction highs and reaction lows converge. In contrast to symmetrical triangles, which have no definitive slope and no bias, falling wedges definitely slope down and have a bullish bias. However, this bullish bias cannot be realized until a resistance breakout.

The falling wedge can also fit into the continuation category. As a continuation pattern, the falling wedge will still slope down, but the slope will be against the prevailing uptrend. As a reversal pattern, the falling wedge slopes down and with the prevailing trend. Regardless of the type (reversal or continuation), falling wedges are regarded as bullish patterns.

As with rising wedges, the falling wedge can be one of the most difficult chart patterns to accurately recognize and trade. When lower highs and lower lows form, as in a falling wedge, a security remains in a downtrend. The falling wedge is designed to spot a decrease in downside momentum and alert technicians to a potential trend reversal. Even though selling pressure may be diminishing, demand does not win out until resistance is broken. As with most patterns, it is important to wait for a breakout and combine other aspects of technical analysis to confirm signals.

From stocks charts the classic example.......

Neil I hope all this helps you out. I'm high on it...I bought it!!

So, lets look at PWAV
earnings - expectation was 6 cents loss on 161.76 in rev
Company reported 4 cent loss ( after 3 cents adjustment for 1 time gain ) on 149.7 mil in revs.

That is HUGE because , looks like if the revenues were in line than PWAV would have been very close to breakeven in real terms.

Looking forward- market is expecting 169.7 for quarter and 3 cents in loss. Analyst will readjust that to 159.7 in rev with 1 cent loss, again that is huge improvement.

Looking at the full year , a 165 mil in Q3 and 185 in Q4 can lead to a 5 cents profit versus a huge 2 cents loss and as for 2010 , I expect analyst to move that 11 cents up to 19 cents ( very conservative valuation )

Based on the above valuations and current state of the market, PWAV should be trading at over $2 in the next 4 weeks.

As for the other 2 drivers, company has a viable business model due to explosion in wireless, product and customer mix and access to over 100 mil in cash in this type of difficult economic environment.

Last but not least is growth potential and that will come in form of massive investments in LTE- Wimax across all markets and accelerated gains in China, India, middle east regions.

PWAV will be a $1 billion in revenue and over $1 billion in market cap by Q4 2010.

Momentum is on PWAVs side.
Has been tightly coiled for a month or so with a slight ascending triangle and blue skies here.
Technicals look bullish.
Is well undervalued at current prices compared to the others.

More top-performing Investors are feeling bullish about Powerwave Technologies (Nasdaq: PWAV)
Many telecommunications solution providers such as Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU), Ciena (Nasdaq: CIEN), and Motorola (NYSE: MOT) are handing out some pretty uninspiring numbers in the most recent quarter. Powerwave joined the party of misery as customers delay capital expenditures, but despite posting a loss, which narrowed to $2.1 million, the company showed signs of operational improvements. It has worked to cut expenses and was able to improve gross margins on a pro forma basis to 23.2%, versus 21.3% in the previous quarter. It was also free-cash-flow positive in the quarter and increased its cash balance to $55.4 million.

Powerwave continues to get a large portion of its revenue from telecom heavyweight Nokia (NYSE: NOK) by way of Nokia Siemens Networks -- the wireless network solution provider accounted for more than a third of revenue in the first quarter of 2009. Its diverse customer base also includes wireless operators like Sprint (NYSE: S) and Verizon Wireless, a joint venture between Verizon (NYSE: VZ) and Vodafone. The company is also seeing improvement in Asian markets, particularly China, where China Unicom and China Mobile have been on a spending spree that's benefiting other suppliers as well.

NI Technology Updates Outlooks for Microvision, DragonWave...

PRINCETON, N.J., April 8, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Next Inning Technology Research ( http://www.nextinning.com ), an online investment newsletter focused on semiconductor and technology stocks, announced it has updated outlooks for Microvision (MVIS, Trade ), DragonWave (DRWI, Trade ), Powerwave Technologies (PWAV, Trade ), Microsemi (MSCC, Trade ) and International Rectifier (IRF, Trade ).

Editor Paul McWilliams has displayed uncanny accuracy in identifying winners and losers during this challenging and historic period for the markets. After logging a very successful 2009, McWilliams is now intently focused on the catalysts generating profits in 2010.

Most recently, McWilliams identified the timing of the market's latest dip and rebound for Next Inning readers in his quarterly Strategy Review. McWilliams has also just published a special report in the emerging and volatile solar energy sector that identifies the key drivers for the industry as well as likely winners and losers. These reports, as well as McWilliams' regular commentary, are available for free to trial subscribers.

In addition, a Next Inning trial subscription also offers access to a new special report on stocks that are likely to benefit most from the boom in demand for mobile bandwidth worldwide driven by Apple's iPhone and other smartphones. McWilliams covers these topics and more in his recent reports:

Now that Microvision has secured an order for its pico-projector technology, has McWilliams upgraded his view on the company?

What is the case for growth that has been laid out by DragonWave? Why have certain analysts downgraded the stock? Read what DragonWave has to say about this and more in a lengthy and unedited response to investor concerns.

Does Powerwave have the right business model in place to take advantage of its good design decisions? Does a valuation analysis suggest that Powerwave is trading below a fair value? Is the time right for investors to buy Powerwave?

International Rectifier has nearly doubled since McWilliams recommended it as a good speculative investment. What does McWilliams see as the risks and the critical success factors facing International Rectifier that investors should monitor going forward? Does McWilliams think the stock merits holding at its current price or does he think it's time to take some profits?

Does McWilliams expect Microsemi to beat the analysts' consensus earnings estimate in 2010? Does McWilliams have a positive view of Microsemi's recent plan to acquire White Electronic Designs? What does McWilliams see as a fair value for Microsemi?

Founded in September 2002, Next Inning's model portfolio has returned 275% since its inception versus 31% for the S&P 500.

well we haven't talked about this one in a while.
Strong Uptrend,
with money management stops. A triangle indicates the presence of a very strong trend that is being driven by strong forces and insiders.

On May 4, 2010, Powerwave Technologies, Inc. (PWAV) traded at a 52 week high of $1.94 after two analysts upgraded Powerwave to buy.
I believe Powerwave is considerably undervalued, and it should double from its current share price over the next 6 to 12 months.

Held at the 50-day. Oversold.
Target $2.25-$3.25, stop $1.65.
PWAV has been seeing a greater percentage of its revenue come from the Asia Pacific region, with the area making up about 40% of its total first-quarter revenues. And other U.S.-based companies like Qualcomm (Nasdaq: QCOM) are working hard to realize the potential there as well, as China Mobile has been testing Qualcomm's technology for possible use in next-generation 4G networks.

A Stock Poised to Pop...
With that in mind, let's take a closer look at Powerwave's business.
Overall bigger upside to a small downside, if they can work to control costs they'll come up big. And with management's big buys, I think they're going to work towards it.
I believe the stock will outperform the S&P 500 going forward.

"Good management team with strategic focus. Strategic vision...improved cost structure last 2 years."
As a small-cap provider of wireless infrastructure products, Powerwave stands to benefit from wireless operators' ever-increasing capacity needs.
Over the next five years, Powerwave is even expected to grow profits at a substantially faster clip (125% per annum) than close foes ADC (12.75%) and CommScope (11%), as well as wireless OEM giants Alcatel (NYSE: ALU) (5%), Motorola (NYSE: MOT) (7.8%), and Nokia (NYSE: NOK) (10.8%).

SANTA ANA, Calif., Dec 07, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Powerwave Technologies, Inc. (PWAV), a global leader in end-to-end wireless coverage and capacity solutions, announces that it has joined the EDGE Innovation Network, a collaborative, open-environment initiative enabling industry and academia, with government input, to work together to enhance the delivery cycle of new technologies and innovative capabilities to warfighters and first responders.

"Powerwave has long been a leader in commercial wireless network infrastructure and is uniquely positioned to help lead the adoption of commercial technology within the government sector," said Khurram Sheikh, chief product and development officer at Powerwave. Has turned the corner from a 5 year downtrend. The fundies are interesting. Low PEG and PE based on projected earnings.
Danger lies in PWAV relying on one major customer but they're in a hot sector and despite its negative book value its positive cash flow makes it a potential buy out candidate. I like it...
Should run to about 4.50 to 4.75...After that it will run into a solid resistance line...

Powerwave Technologies Introduces Ultra-Broadband LTE(R)...

BARCELONA, Spain, Feb 14, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS -- BOOTH 8B109 -- Powerwave Technologies Inc. (PWAV), a global leader in end-to-end advanced wireless solutions, today announced the new LTE ultra-broadband Powerwave Picocell, which delivers up to 15 times greater overall system capacity at a much lower cost and complexity than adding standard macro cells to address "sore spots" of high data usage or weak signals in wireless networks. The product is debuting today at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

The new picocell is a key component of Powerwave's Inside Out Solutions topology and supports both LTE and Wi-Fi technologies. This powerful all-in-one compact base station enables wireless operators to inject broadband capacity closer to where their customers need it most. This gives each user a better signal and reduces network congestion, resulting in a faster experience and longer battery life. Additional benefits include less power consumption, faster zoning approvals and simpler installation.

Because LTE data speeds slow down with congestion and distance from the macro cell, the Powerwave Picocell delivers the fastest possible user experience for mobile devices, including video broadcast, mobile Internet, two-way video conferencing and HD video. In addition, enterprises and government agencies can build out a single infrastructure that enables users to take advantage of data-intensive applications using both LTE and Wi-Fi technologies in a single base station.

"Powerwave's new picocell offers an economical way to build out existing network infrastructure that not only immediately meets today's mobile user needs, but also provides for the future of 4G and beyond," said Khurram Sheikh, chief technical officer of Powerwave. "This product is a cornerstone of Powerwave's Inside Out Solutions, which dramatically boost data throughput at any time for LTE and Wi-Fi systems, both indoors and outdoors, providing an enhanced experience no matter where the user is located."

"Initial deployments of LTE networks have not been built from the inside out," said Peter Jarich, Current Analysis' service director for telecom infrastructure. "Yet, there can be no denying that as operators struggle to provide an impressive user experience, the use of small cells is critical to obtaining solid spectrum reuse and bandwidth per user. It's no surprise, then, that early market predictions for 2011 indicate that small cell architectures will become an integral part of 4G networks."

Key features of the Powerwave LTE Picocell eNodeB include:

Small, elegant form factor is minimally invasive on the environment and enables fast and smooth deployment in challenging locations, both inside and outside 3GPP Release 8 compliant Powerwave World Radio Transceiver supporting all 4G frequency bands from 700MHz to 2.7GHz Support for 100 simultaneous active users and 1000 registered users Increased aggregate data throughput of nearly 100 Mbps and user-plane latency of less than five milliseconds Integrated 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz 802.11Wi-Fi router All-in-one design including antennas, filters, RF, baseband and control 2x2 MIMO in an elegant, compact design Self Optimized Network (SON), Remote provisioning, optimization, monitoring and maintenance capabilities to reduce total cost of ownership Five times less UL transmit power for connected devices, which extends battery life and reduces cost for both wireless operators and end users

New MIMO Active Array Antenna From Powerwave Technologies...

BARCELONA, Spain, Feb 14, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS -- Powerwave Technologies, Inc. (PWAV), a global leader in end-to-end advanced wireless solutions, introduced today its new multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) Active Array Antenna that increases mobile broadband coverage up to 100 percent and reduces power consumption by 40 percent, slashing total operational costs for network providers.

The Powerwave MIMO Active Array Antenna combines the company's industry-leading remote radio head and antenna technologies into a single integrated design with a 3dB - 5dB link budget that doubles a basestation's coverage radius when compared to non-integrated antennas. Similarly, the integrated design reduces power losses to make the antenna a much more cost-effective alternative. The compact design has the same height, width and front windloading as a conventional antenna, enabling like-for-like swapping of existing tower infrastructure. The MIMO Active Array Antenna is a leading part of Powerwave's Inside Out Solutions(TM) network strategy designed to provide ubiquitous mobile broadband coverage both inside buildings and outdoors in large venues.

"While 3G and 4G networks provide the increased data rates needed for today's mobile devices, they also lead to cell shrinkage that results in pockets of poor reception within the radius of the tower," said Khurram Sheikh, chief technical officer at Powerwave. "The increased coverage and high performance data speed at cell edge offered by Powerwave's MIMO Active Array Antenna provides the performance needed to solve the widening gap between mobile data traffic and bandwidth capacity, delivering significantly improved signal quality to customers."

The MIMO Active Array Antenna is a total solution integrated into a single radome containing all the subsystems necessary to deploy the complete 3G or 4G BTS RF up the tower. These include wideband world radio transceiver, power amplifier with advanced DPD and CFR algorithms, integrated filter and duplexer, low noise amplifier (LNA) and cross-polarized antenna with the greatest gain per unit length. This all-in-one design compared to typical solutions with separate components is quickly and easily deployed and reduces tower lease costs. In addition, with a total weight of less than 20 kg (45 lbs.) and requiring only power and fiber optic data connections, the Powerwave MIMO Active Array can be installed by one person.

Based on Powerwave's industry-proven software-defined world radio transceiver, the versatile MIMO Active Array Antenna can be used in 3G and/or 4G deployments, in frequency bands from 700 MHz to 2.7 GHz. Solutions deployed in 3G networks can be upgraded to 4G protocols at little or no cost, because no modifications to the tower-top active array antenna are necessary. The antenna supports a wide variety of protocols, including CDMA, WCDMA, HSPA+, WiMAX(TM) and LTE(R).

Availability

The MIMO Active Array Antenna is now in carrier trials and will be generally available in Q3 2011.

Powerwave's Breakthrough Internet Commanded Combiner...

BARCELONA, Spain, Feb 15, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- To help carriers keep up with the evolution to LTE networks, Powerwave Technologies Inc. (PWAV), a global leader in end-to-end advanced wireless solutions, introduced today the iCC Internet Commanded Combiner. This is one of the first filter combiners to enable deployment of LTE(R) services alongside 2G and/or 3G networks, and is also the first solution that allows LTE networks to expand as future demand increases and that also features remote configuration and electronic tuning via the Internet.

The iCC Internet Commanded Combiner facilitates feedline and antenna sharing from two or more 2G, 3G or 4G radio heads or base transceiver systems (BTS). It is a major advancement from conventional filter combiners that have extremely restricted flexibility in adapting filter response because they are either fixed-tuned or manually tuned. This new combiner is part of Powerwave's 4G Inside Out Solutions(TM) strategy, which provides ubiquitous mobile broadband coverage both inside buildings and outdoors in large venues.

"The iCC enables the immediate rollout of profitable LTE services at a fraction of the time and cost of building out new or separate BTS infrastructure for LTE services," said Khurram Sheikh, chief technical officer of Powerwave. "New LTE subscribers can be added while still supporting legacy customers--a win/win for everyone."

The Powerwave iCC Internet Commanded Combiner delivers unprecedented lifetime cost of ownership savings because it is extremely reliable and requires no maintenance or support. It is inherently green and saves energy costs because primary power is used only during tune mode, when frequency and/or bandwidth is being tuned by the user. The sophisticated, multi-section, high selectivity filter combiner offers total flexibility and functionality and retains high accuracy over its full tuning range and environmental operating temperature range. A singular break for Powerwave, the tunable bandwidth filter (1MHz to 20MHz) allows for spectrum and bandwidth management.

Key Features:

No need to "rip and replace" MCPA, antennas and feed lines A simple solution that can be deployed in days rather than months Maximizes utilization of existing spectrum Flexibility to adapt on-the-fly to changing conditions in order to gracefully migrate traffic to LTE services and away from legacy technologies over time

If You See This, Should You Sell Powerwave Technologies?
February 16, 2011 By Seth Jayson

There's no foolproof way to know the future for Powerwave Technologies (Nasdaq: PWAV) or any other company. However, certain clues may help you see potential stumbles before they happen -- and before your stock craters as a result. Rest assured: Even if you're not monitoring these metrics, short-sellers are.

A cloudy crystal ball
I often use accounts receivable (AR) and days sales outstanding (DSO) to judge a company's current health and future prospects. It's an important step in separating the pretenders from the market's best stocks. Alone, AR -- the amount of money owed the company -- and DSO -- days worth of sales owed to the company -- don't tell you much. However, by considering the trends in AR and DSO, you can sometimes get a window onto the future.

Sometimes, problems with AR or DSO simply indicate a change in the business (like an acquisition), or lax collections. However, AR that grows more quickly than revenue, or ballooning DSO, can also suggest a desperate company that's trying to boost sales by giving its customers overly generous payment terms. Alternately, it can indicate that the company sprinted to book a load of sales at the end of the quarter, like used-car dealers on the 29th of the month. (Sometimes, companies do both.)

Why might an upstanding firm like Powerwave Technologies do this? For the same reason any other company might: to make the numbers. Investors don't like revenue shortfalls, and employees don't like reporting them to their superiors.

Is Powerwave Technologies sending any potential warning signs? Take a look at the chart below, which plots revenue growth against AR growth, and DSO:

The standard way to calculate DSO uses average accounts receivable. I prefer to look at end-of-quarter (EOQ) receivables, but I've plotted both above.

Watching the trends
When that red line (AR growth) crosses above the green line (revenue growth), I know I need to consult the filings. Similarly, a spike in the blue bars (DSO) indicates a trend worth worrying about. As another reality check, it's reasonable to consider what a normal DSO figure might look like in this space.

Differences in business models can generate variations in DSO, so don't consider this the final word -- just a way to add some context to the numbers. But let's get back to our original question: Will Powerwave Technologies miss its numbers in the next quarter or two?

I would not be surprised if there were trouble ahead. For the last fully reported fiscal quarter, Powerwave Technologies's year-over-year revenue grew 23.2%, and its AR grew 30.8%. That looks OK. End-of-quarter DSO decreased 1.4% from the prior-year quarter. It was up 6.8% versus the prior quarter. Still, I'm no fortuneteller, and these are just numbers. Investors putting their money on the line always need to dig into the filings for the root causes and draw their own conclusions.

What now?
I use this kind of analysis to figure out which investments I need to watch more closely as I hunt the market's best returns. However, some investors actively seek out companies on the wrong side of AR trends in order to sell them short, profiting when they eventually fall. Which way would you play this one? Powerwave Technologies Shares Popped:
What You Need to Know...

Although we don't believe in timing the market or panicking over market movements, we do like to keep an eye on big changes -- just in case they're material to our investing thesis.

What: Shares of wireless networking hardware maker Powerwave Technologies (Nasdaq: PWAV) are getting a strong signal today, trading as much as 13.6% higher on rather ordinary volume.

So what: Powerwave has no news to support this move, no earnings report, no analyst rating changes, nor even any significant news from its very limited range of direct rivals. It's just one of those inexplicable moves.

Now what: I'm even hesitant to point to some large buyer taking or expanding a position in Powerwave, because the volume is so low and options trading nearly zero today. Maybe the company was mentioned in a positive light on CNBC or Bloomberg TV, but that idea is difficult to confirm or disprove. What you really need to know is that the stock has more than tripled over the last year, but Powerwave's financial statements are far from soothing bedtime reading. Is this stock setting itself up for a fall?

Powerwave Debuts New Active Array Antenna and Remote...
by Business Wire  Mar 22 2011 6:00AM

ORLANDO, Fla., Mar 22, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Powerwave Technologies Inc. (PWAV), a global leader in advanced wireless solutions, introduced today the new Powerwave Active Array Antenna and Powerwave Remote Radio Head with 65MHz of instantaneous bandwidth to help carriers build 4G networks with the maximum range and frequency flexibility possible.

The Active Array Antenna and 65MHz Remote Radio Head (RRH) both make their North American debut at CTIA WIRELESS 2011 (March 22-24 in Orlando, FL) at booth #2459. They are key additions to Powerwave's Inside Out Solutions(TM) network strategy, which is designed to provide ubiquitous mobile broadband coverage both inside buildings and outdoors in large venues.

"The exploding demand for mobile Internet is driving carriers to rethink everything from revenue models to rebuilding their networks to get to 4G," said Khurram Sheikh, chief technical officer at Powerwave. "These new products were designed to help carriers evolve to 4G in a way the addresses this new paradigm. From the expanded range and decreased power draw of the Active Array Antenna to the instantaneous re-tuning of the 65MHz RRH, carriers now have more flexibility and lower operations costs than before."

Active Array Antenna

The Active Array Antenna combines Powerwave's award-winning remote radio head and antenna technologies into a single integrated design with a 3dB - 5dB link budget that increases a basestation's coverage radius by 100 percent over non-integrated antennas. The integrated design also reduces power consumption by 40 percent, making the antenna a much more cost-effective alternative. The antenna's compact design has the same height, width and front windloading as a conventional antenna, enabling like-for-like swapping of existing tower infrastructure.

The Active Array Antenna is a total RF solution integrated into a single radome containing all the subsystems necessary to deploy the complete 3G or 4G RF subsystem up the tower in frequency bands from 700 MHz to 2.7 GHz. These include wideband world radio transceiver, power amplifier with advanced DPD and CFR algorithms, integrated filter and duplexer, low noise amplifier (LNA) and cross-polarized antenna with the greatest gain per unit length. The antenna supports a wide variety of protocols, including CDMA, WCDMA, HSPA+, WiMAX(TM) and LTE(R).

Remote Radio Head with 65MHz Instantaneous Bandwidth

The instantaneous bandwidth capability of the 65MHz RRH eliminates the need to either tune the product or deploy multiple radio heads to cover different frequency bands. This gives wireless operators the flexibility to deploy a single radio head and configure it via software for a variety of carrier configurations and technologies without having to physically revisit the cell site.

Designed for 3G or 4G networks operating in 700 MHz to 2700 MHz bands, the 65MHz RRH's integrated software-defined radio allows for simultaneous operation of independent protocols, providing seamless migration of legacy 3G networks to LTE. The small and lightweight form factor coupled with a fiber fed structure enables rapid installation and remote management. The 65MHz RRH can be tower or rooftop mounted, supporting an extensive combination of carrier configurations.

The 65MHz RRH provides wideband multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) multi-mode capability with power levels ranging from 10W through 50W per transmit path in combinations of 2T2R, 2T4R and 4T4R. It is capable of supporting virtually endless combinations of HSDPA, EV-DO, WiMAX(TM), and LTE air interfaces simultaneously.

The new indoor Picocell will debut at CTIA WIRELESS 2011 (March 22-24 in Orlando, FL) at booth #2459. It is a key addition to Powerwave's Inside Out Solutions(TM) network strategy, which is designed to provide ubiquitous mobile broadband coverage both inside buildings and outdoors in large venues.

Today's announcement expands the Powerwave Picocell family, which includes an outdoor picocell that was first introduced in February. Both models are among the highest capacity picocells, supporting up to 100 active outdoor users and 32 active indoor users, and up to 1,000 registered users. They support all 4G frequency bands in the 700MHz to 2.7 GHz range and feature a 2x2 MIMO antenna for additional capacity. They also feature an optional concurrent dual-band 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi radio that makes them a single system for all carrier and enterprise wireless needs.

"The powerful indoor Picocell enables wireless operators to inject broadband capacity closer to where their customers need it most, and increasingly that's inside buildings," said Khurram Sheikh, chief technical officer of Powerwave. "Combined with other products in our new 4G infrastructure line, this Picocell dramatically boosts data throughput providing an enhanced experience no matter where the user is located."

The new Picocell provides the reliable coverage and capacity needed for hotels and resorts, university and business campuses, travel venues such as airports and subways, large sports venues and hospitals and other healthcare facilities. The inconspicuous, attractive design is perfect for indoor applications, consumes less power and is even easier to install.

Key features of the indoor Powerwave Picocell include:

-- Small, lightweight, elegant form factor that are minimally invasive on the environment and enable fast and smooth deployment in challenging indoor locations

-- All-in-one design includes antennas, filters, RF, baseband and control

-- 3GPP Release 8 compliant

-- Powerwave world radio transceiver supporting all 4G frequency bands from 700MHz to 2.7GHz

-- Increased aggregate data throughput of nearly 100 Mbps and user-plane latency of less than five milliseconds

-- Self optimized network (SON), remote provisioning, optimization, monitoring and maintenance capabilities to reduce total cost of ownership

-- Five times less UL transmit power for connected devices, which extends battery life and reduces cost for both wireless operators and end users

A Breakout Stock Trending Higher !
Strong Uptrend...
A triangle indicates the presence of a very strong trend that is being driven by strong forces and insiders.
A global supplier of end-to-end wireless solutions for wireless communications networks. This stock is off to a blazing start in 2011, with shares up around 83%. That's already a huge gain, and if the recent breakout can hold, then we could see much higher prices ahead.

Some of the interest in this stock of late is due to the company's showcase of its 4G network infrastructure products at the CTIA tradeshow. Now that AT&T and T-Mobile have proposed a merger, wireless equipment providers such as PWAV are also looking more attractive as takeover plays.

If you take a look at the chart for Powerwave, you'll see that the stock has started to break out above some past overhead resistance at around $4 to $4.15 a share. This breakout is occurring on some big volume. During the last three trading sessions (all up days), volume of 7.4 million, 5.9 million and 7.6 million shares have changed hands vs. the three-month average trading volume of 2.9 million shares.
This breakout is also coming as the stock moves out of a well-defined trading range. For the past couple of months, PWAV has traded in a range of $3.20 to around $4 a share. Whenever a stock moves out of a trading range on heavy volume, it can often mean that it's setting up to trend significantly higher. If this stock can manage to trade above the next notable resistance level at $5 a share, then it could easily begin a march towards $7 to $8 a share or possibly even higher.

This is also a very speculative stock, so please manage your risk accordingly and use tight stops in case the breakout fails and you can cut your losses quickly.
It's worth noting that this stock has a reasonable short interest. As of Mar. 15, the short interest as a percentage of the float stands at around 5.6%. The bears in PWAV have also increased their bets by 29.6% to a total of 9.4 million shares sold short from the last reporting period. This reasonable short position could fuel more short covering the near future if the stock can continue to uptrend.
