very interesting, I was checking this company out earlier this evening, and found "very close" comparisons to NTRZ.OB - both are rice bran related companies, and their corporate HQ's are addressed alike, both are in El Dorado, CA...and both these companies made a major move up on friday...will watch them on monday for sure!
man! :o that looks really solid!(applaud) I'm gonna watch this one. >:D
the founders are common to ricx.ob and ntrz.ob. word on the street is that ricx.ob and ntrz.ob will merge.
word on the street is that NTRZ.OB and RICX.OB will merge. The founders for the 2 companies are same! Apparently the deal with Dominican Republic is huge.

Yes just bought ricx too in anticipation of the merger
I really, really like this story, and this company. I 'm just confused as to where buy at. It's never been at this level before.

Very strong stock, and if volume continues, I would not wait to long to get on board.....But should it gap again I dont think I would chase it..............Happy Trading

TA:
It looks as though we may have seen a bottom to NTRZ's price action. The low of yesterdays price action dropped to the low of the first pullback of the rally back in mid july at .85 as well was .01 above the opening gap that began the rally. Today there was a gap up that closed above resistence at .97.
On news of the final merger there was alot of interested buyers but not enough. Probably a lot of sellers that had been holding the stock previously waiting for it to come back up after they bought it in light of the rally from mid july.
But today we had a nice rally for a 18% gain on inreased volume and with the recent merger and revenue building contracts another rally may be in the near future.
best of luck

Nick sent a mail last week and asked for my opinion on NutraCea.
This could have ended with a quick look at the chart and a reply back to Nick that the stock looked good but I decided to dig a little deeper after all the stock had some pretty interesting fundamentals:
- The company converts the world largest food waste into a very nutritious food
- Demand outstripping capacity
- Very strong balance sheet
- Profitable and cash flow positive
- Product backed by strong patents
- Expansion into mass-market retail (supermarkets and chain retail stores)
- Expansion not expected to be dilutive
- Strong pricing power
- Heavy insider buying
- Factories running 24/7
- Plan to list on national exchange (already Compliant from a regulatory standpoint)
So here are some weekend reading on this little penny gem ;)
Background
NutraCea, a health science company, engages in the development and distribution of stabilized rice bran and rice bran-based products for the consumer food and animal feed sectors.
NutraCea merged RiceX on October 4, 2005. The benefits of the merger to NutraCea are substantial. Specifically, the financial position of NutraCea has been strengthened as a result of the elimination of $2.4 million of debt and an infusion of $7.85 million of cash that exceeded the requirements of the merger agreement by $2.4 million. Also, NutraCea will no longer be dependent on a major competitor, RiceX, as the sole source supplier of stabilized rice bran, its principle raw material. Finally, the ambiguity of ownership of intellectual property related to stabilized rice bran between NutraCea and RiceX is resolved with the merger.
Rice is the world largest human food source and the world's rice mills produce 60 million metric tons of rice bran. The usage of Rice bran was previously limited to feeding animals, burned as fuel or wholly discarded each year. Once considered too perishable and unable to be processed for human consumption, NutraCea's scientifically stabilized rice bran is poised to become one of the world's leading and truly affordable combatants of malnutrition, and a universally available, all-natural ingredient for better health.
NutraCea build their factories in close proximity to the Rice mills under long-term supply agreements. The factories are either producing Stabilized Rice Bran to food processors or further refined to Soluble or Insoluble Fiber.
Because Rice bran is basically a waste product without NRTZ's technology the raw material is very cheap:
The cost of a factory that produces Stabilized Rice Bran is $3 million and the annual revenue potential is $10.5 million. The cost of a factory that produces Soluble or Insoluble Fiber is $7 million and the annual revenue potential is $21.6 million:
The business model is simple:
So as long as there is still demand for the product (when will the world run out of demand for food?) and there are still Rice Bran to be processed (60 million ton) it seems like NurtraCea will prosper.
To be continued...
Demand
As said the world will most likely not have an abundance of food anytime soon but what I especially like about NutraCea is that it appeals to all segments of the market (including Cats and off course Dogs )
Lets start with the choosiest first: the typical American male ;) struggling with overweight and enjoying a few too many beers. Don't worry after a late night drinking NutraCea is there to make you feel better in the morning when you eat your nutritious breakfast cereals. In case you are more to Egg and Bacon (who isn't?) then you can eat fiber products based on NRTZ's trechnology that are focused on alleviating gastrointestinal disorders. Like a cake in the afternoon? No problem. NutraCeu will soon provide ingredients for nutritious cakes. Till now this demand has been met through partners and by using TV informercials but NutraCea will soon start distributing through some of the largest Retail Chains and Supermarkets.
If you happen to have a pet you might feed it with Purina pet food, which contains NutraCea's stabilized rice bran to its equine feed formulations. You would probably be choked if you knew how much the western world is spending on Pet food (At least if you live in Africa ::))
And NTRZ is partnering with some major companies:
But that is not all they are also partnering with governments around the world to solve one of the largest global issues. Hunger!
The main food source in the third world is Rice and to use Rice Bran which otherwise would have been burned to feed the masses. NutraCea have signed agreements to build production facilities in the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, El Salvador and Jamaica. The potential of this business area (and I am not shy to call this a business because if NTRZ hadn't invested in the intellectual property Rice Bran would have been continued to be burned for decades) is mind bubbling. This is probably the cheapest and healthiest food source available for the third world.
Production capacity
Who cares about demand if there is enough supply to meet it?
Well that is the point. You have a very cheap raw material and nobody except NRTZ is able to transform it into a very nutritious food source. In fact there have been several unsuccessful attempts to copy NRTZ's technology during the last several years but NutraCea has protected their intellectual property with several patents:
As they sign up and increasing number of food processors, distribution channels and governments they are not able to meet demand, The result is that their existing factories has been running on 3 shifts 24 hours per day 7 days per week. At the same time they have used the opportunity to increase prices with between 30% and 300%. That sounds like something that might create very good returns for the shareholders so lets look into the financials.
To be continued....
Financials
So who cares about demand and supply if the company is not able to transform it into some solid earnings?
Well let's have a look at the P&L:
Revenue increased 1,290% in Q2 year over year. This is partly due to the merger with RiceX. But if you compare to the results from both companies in Q1 2005 the revenue still increased with 300% year over year.
As can be seen the company turned a corner last quarter with the fist ever profitable quarter but that is already history. The real issue is how earnings will look in the future. The company doesn't provide guidance but they do tell about the expansion of capacity. With the planned capacity increase for the rest of this year they should end the year with an annual production capacity of $35 million with a gross margin of 40%.
My estimate for 2006 revenue and earnings are $26 million and EPS of 0.06. This will increase very significant in 2007 and 2008 due to further capacity increases and economy of scale.
I expect NRTZ to earn 0.25 in 2007 and around $1 in 2008. This earnings forecast is obviously depending on the expansion of capacity. EPS of $1 would require revenue of around $150 million. A quite significant increase from the 35 million capacity by the end of this year but not unrealistic. The company expect to have capacity in place by October 2007 to generate 58 million in revenue annually:
Stabilized Rice Bran

Fiber
(http://www.3stocksonfire.org/trading/index.php?action=dlattach;attach=25303;image)
A 300% increase in capacity from 2007 to 2008 might seem ambitious but it is not unrealistic compared to their execution till date.
With 14.7 million in cash and no debt NRTZ has a very strong balance sheet. Combine this with a positive cash flow and the company should be able to finance part of the expansion through loans. The management is negotiating with several large partners who have expressed their willingness to finance new factories in order to secure the supply. The management does therefore not expect to have to issue additional shares to finance the build out the capacity. (always nice to know when we talk pennies!)
Talk is cheap so is the management walking the talking? Well based on the insider buying it seems like the management believes in the company. They have been buying shares all the way up to $1.2!
So how to trade the stock?
To be continued....
Technicals
At the last earnings call UBS' main question was: Why is the potential of the business not reflected in the stock price? Very good question and the answer was a combination of lack of awareness, too small market cap and the OTC status. Well for me that sounds like a good investment opportunity!
As can be seen the stock has already had a nice run. There were some profit taking on Friday after it crossed 1.35 (the company has issued more than 10 million warrants at 1.35.so you would expect some resistance here.
We do however have strong support at 1.2, which happens to be just around the price insiders bought for in August.
Short term I would expect the stock to consolidate between 1.2 and 1.35. Long term I could see this stock much higher!
Michael,
Thanks for taking out time & posting so much valuable info. I've done a lot of DD myself & pretty much agree with everything you've documented here..
Any idea on when they would shoot for a listing on a national exchange?
Thanks,

The business model is simple:
So as long as there is still demand for the product (when will the world run out of demand for food?) and there are still Rice Bran to be processed (60 million ton) it seems like NurtraCea will prosper.
(http://www.3stocksonfire.org/trading/index.php?action=dlattach;attach=25304;image)
Trading Plan:Buy NTRZ.OB today..
Goodwork RAM, you are firing on all cylinders.
Tomorrow let's bring NTRZ to the moon;) :D ;D
Symmetrical breakout less than 3 bucks in play ;)
They have at total of 30,000,000 that are waiting to exercised almost equal to half the outstanding shares. The 10,000,000 in warrants that were previously mentioned plus They issues 17,560 shares of Covertable class C stock that can be converted into 1,000 each of the common stock 17,560 x 1,000 = 17,560,000 shares plus another 500,000 went to advisor of the deal. Very Dilutive

Strong indications of market ability of their rice bran products.
NutraCea has unlimited potential to become a ground-floor power in the rice bran-based nutraceuticals marketplace, with their patented bran stabilization technology, and their products and their supply chain initiatives. 2006 will tell what their long termfuture should be.
The potential for rice bran as a major raw nutritional product, and the food products that can be made from it is very exciting. NTRZ could become the hub of a world industry movement, worth billions to those who got in early. No guarantees, but lots of opportunity with low financial risk at at this point. USDA thinks that rice bran is a nutritionally superior commodity that has not yet come into its own. So do I. What do you think?
What volume! Could this be institutional buying? I was skeptical of their story in the beginning, but they may be up to something now. The coming quarters will tell the truth. We need to see sales, i mean accelerating sales in double digits.
Looks like we have a very nice looking ,
Cup with Handle (continuation) pattern, "Breakout here" !!!
The Cup with Handle is a bullish continuation pattern that marks a consolidation period followed by a breakout. It was developed by William O'Neil and introduced in his 1988 book, How to Make Money in Stocks.
As its name implies, there are two parts to the pattern: the cup and the handle. The cup forms after an advance and looks like a bowl or rounding bottom. As the cup is completed, a trading range develops on the right hand side and the handle is formed. A subsequent breakout from the handle's trading range signals a continuation of the prior advance.
As with most chart patterns, it is more important to capture the essence of the pattern than the particulars. The cup is a bowl-shaped consolidation and the handle is a short pullback followed by a breakout with expanding volume. A cup retracement of 62% may not fit the pattern requirements, but a particular stock's pattern may still capture the essence of the Cup with Handle.

NutraCea to Educate Industry at Expo East That Rice Bran Ranks Highest in Antioxidants Over 28 Foods Tested
Saturday October 7, 8:00 am ET
EL DORADO HILLS, Calif., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NutraCea (OTC Bulletin Board: NTRZ - News) announced today that this week at the Expo East trade show they will educate attendees, which include industry insiders in the natural foods and products industry, about the antioxidant properties of rice bran. These antioxidant properties were established in a 2004 comprehensive study documenting the comparative values of lipophilic (fat soluble) and hydrophilic (water soluble) antioxidants found in a cross section of 28 foods commonly consumed in the United States in comparison to rice bran, which ranked the highest in the study.
"Over 120 antioxidants and cofactors have been identified in rice bran so far. These include gamma oryzanol and its 20 components, the tocopherols and the tocotrienols, which exist in 10 different forms, polyphenols, 21 different phytosterols, carotenoids, phospholipids, polysaccharides, amino acids, B vitamins and enzymes like glutathione peroxidase and metal chelators," said Dr. Rani Patel, Chief Science Officer of NutraCea.
"Rice Bran is thus a repository of potent antioxidants that nature has provided to ensure the health of the germ in the rice grain. The incredible properties of stabilized rice bran become more apparent with every study published and set the bar even higher for the functional food industry; stabilized rice bran has created a new realm of neutraceutical and physiological benefits that no other food can even approach. With a unique blend of carbohydrates, along with all the essential amino acids for protein metabolism, rice bran as a food or in the form of a dietary supplement offers the perfect solution in the ongoing battle against chronic disease and the many health issues that face our nation today," said Margie Adelman, Senior Vice President of NutraCea.
A study published in the Journal of Food Composition and Analysis.17 (2004) 407-22 reported that rice bran was used as a comparison to other foods and "extremely high lipophilic to hydrophilic ORAC value." It also has the highest lipophilic ORAC value 155 micromoles TE/gram or 27 times that of its closest competitor, which at that time was blueberries, which have 5.5 micromoles/gram. ORAC values refer to Oxygen Radical Absorbancy Capacity of food. "The astounding result of this study coupled with the soluble and insoluble fiber content completely validates an earlier study by Qureshi et al that rice bran either as a food or as a supplement leads to a reduction in cholesterol and thus lowers cardiovascular disease risk and may help in the management of controlling blood glucose levels," Patel added.
"The results of this study put rice bran at the top of the antioxidant charts," said Margie Adelman, Senior Vice President of NutraCea. "To be able to turn rice bran, which up to now has been discarded after processing rice, into a highly nutritious human nutrition supplement using our stabilization technology is not only a major achievement, but has tremendous possibilities for human health on a global level."
This study documented the lipophilic and hydrophilic ORAC value of 28 fruits, vegetable and nuts that are commonly consumed in the US for their antioxidant constituents and properties. The astonishing results of the study reported that rice bran contained the highest percent of lipophylic to total antioxidant capacity as compared to avocado (63.7% vs. 28.6%). This same study reported that the hydrophilic (water soluble) ORAC values for stabilized rice bran were second only to pecans.
Margie Adelman further Stated, "The antioxidant properties of rice bran have important biological significance, as fat-soluble antioxidants can stay longer in the human body than water-soluble antioxidants that get excreted from our body. Move over blueberries, raspberries strawberries, and plums; there's a new champion in town."

Friday was a volatile session for NTRZ with an indecision candle, although the stock managed to close positive and showing signs of strength. Probably we need some consolidation after the recent breakout, lets wait.
Trading Plan:
Hold NTRZ.OB

Mike,
The past week has been extremely fruitful to say the least :)
But the strong price action has been extremely encouraging.
I want to add more, but i always seem to be chasing..
Do you know by any chance when they report Q3?
Also, would you venture a medium term (9-12 month) price target?
Thanks a lot,

Attended East Coast Natural Food Products Show on 10/7/06 (Baltimore)
I went (today (Saturday, 10/7/06), I saw, I liked. The Natural Products Expo East was a huge natural product provider's candy store designed for retailers to survey, and touch and taste almost everything edible. NutraCea was well represented, and had a prominent end-of-aisle double-sided display at a principal aisle, complete with revolving masthead sign. I discussed the science and the market potential with Dr. Patel (Chief Science Officer) and discussed the recent stock market performance with Kody Newland (Sr. V.P. of Sales). He was a happy camper after Friday's market performance. I also spoke with a staff sales guy (former Pfizer employee) when I first arrived at the display, who introduced me to Dr. Patel. She, in turn, introduced me to Kody Newland. Everyone was very friendly, helpful, informative, and comfortable. NutraCea had provided CD's, samples, cookbooks, flyer's, etc., to give out. I discussed at length the science, and the nutritional benefits of the products, as well as the world-wide applications, especially with lesser-developed nations (volume, vs margin). Their booth was active. I tried the rice solubles product. Without adding water the powder was very tasty in its raw form, and literally melts in your mouth. By the way, I learned that they have no interest in squeezing oil from rice bran, themselves. Apparently the oil is extracted from un-stabilized rice bran, per Dr. Patel.
I am now even more convinced that the company will prosper sooner than later. They will need to show income, new market penetrations, solid management, etc., but there is a great future in owning NTRZ stock, IMHO.
On the show itself, they were showing, an giving out individual samples and retail-sized containers of every natural and/or organic product, vitamin, juice, energy drink, cake, pie, candy, vegetable, meat product (ostrich, included), pasta, etc., under the sun. they were cooking stuff everywhere. There was too much to see or eat in the few hours that I could spend. I would not have gotten in without a friend's authorized retailer's badge. This show was "strictly" for the trade, which included large and small entities. And, It was very well attended.
Go Long, Stay Strong.
Thank you..thats really useful information. Wish i could have attended myself as well.
Nick
KUDOS to Setravis, Thank you for the post, and taking the time to go to the show. I like NTRZ but will probably be swing trading it on this great chart as apposed to investing...
How did they compare with other companies for attention getting? Any other good stock buy ideas come from the show? Everyone needs to eat and North America is going Natural, organic etc...
Did you happen to notice if SWTS was there? A natural energy drink company that i have traded, and like their product, sinc it was on th PKs now OTC.
Cheers Joe
Update:
Excellent price and volume development during the last few sessions... NTRZ is proving a great strength keeping this trend up and running ;)
There's a resistance at $1.80, NTRZ has the potential to fly across this barrier and go to much higher ground, and comparing the 2005's volume during the big speculative rally we can easily see a difference... This move has some different backup ;)
Just as a security measure, and to take some profits out of the table, we are going to sell half of this position near $1.80.
Trading Plan:
SELL half of this position near $1.80 and Hold the rest.

Business Overview
BRIEF: For the six months ended 30 June 2006, NutraCea's revenues totaled $7.9M, up from $759K. Net income totaled $166K vs. a loss of $2.7M. Revenues reflect higher sales due to expanded product lines acquired in RiceX and sales into the infomercial market. Lower loss reflects improved gross margins, decreased professional fees, higher interest & other income, lower stock-based compensation expense and a decrease in interest expense. http://www.nutracea.com/

Hey! I just found out about this company here and realized they are a few miles away from my house. Hm... should invest in neighboors :)
When you look at a chart you can see a lot of things because there are many possibilities.. Here one which shows this stock as a channel..

Good day to you Setravis, thank you for your posts, You make a great contribution to this site! I do hope that your list here is your response to ones that you would like to hold for some time?
I am in 4 of them already, but currently bags (but GNBT and NVAX got a lot lighter last week!)
IGTG I did not peg you as a player of the pink sheets, only 30M shares, Only one employee, what do you see here besides the crazy volume this week? Will they move to OTC soon?
GNLB like the chart, above the 3 magics and 50ma may cross over soon, looking bullish, A break of 2.34 on some volumecould make a G pattern break out... Hard to look at Fundamental numbers on these Bio-pharmas, at this price market cap is twice enterprise value, but only 18M float and good insider and Tut interest... I am seeing a PE of 3, but that does not seem accurate?? Hmmm will try to keep track of it... (on a side note i sure do home that GNTA has a day like GNLB had on June 5 sometime in the not too distant future :)
CMGI Great volume, surprised i have not seen it before... You calling the bottom is in? Nice candle friday, nice entry next week would be 1.15, A close over 1.30 is over the 3 magics on the year daily chart
Cheers Joe

NutraCea to Relocate Corporate Headquarters to Phoenix, Arizona
Monday October 16, 8:00 am ET
EL DORADO HILLS, Calif., Oct. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NutraCea, (OTC Bulletin Board: NTRZ - News) the world leader in stabilized rice bran technology, announced today that it will relocate its corporate headquarters to Phoenix, Arizona from its current location in El Dorado Hills, California. The Company anticipates officially moving into its new office space, formerly occupied by Qwest Communications, in January 2007.
The new spacious facility will easily accommodate the current executive staff and will provide room for expansion as needed. "The relocation of the Company's headquarters comes at a time when the business is experiencing unprecedented growth," said NutraCea President and CEO Brad Edson. "From an operational standpoint, this move represents the final step in the integration of the RiceX/NutraCea merger. We chose Phoenix because of its strategic location, easy accessibility to an international airport, and a highly educated labor pool. In addition, Phoenix offers a rich cultural environment which we believe will be attractive to current and prospective employees,"added Edson.
The Company was able to negotiate over $800,000 of various moving allowances and leasing credits. These concessions along with cost savings from the reduction of the existing Sacramento leasing obligations should more than offset any costs associated with the move and should greatly improve internal efficiency going forward. Manufacturing and warehousing facilities will remain in Sacramento.
NutraCea's executive management team will be relocating to Phoenix, Arizona in late January 2007. The new corporate address will be: 5090 N. 40th Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85018

Update:
A cool development here, NTRZ just visited its 2005's high of $1.81 during the session, volume was huge, and a long white candle is now pointing some upside intentions for this stock.
We already sold half of this position last week, so we don't have much risk here, and we are curious about this move. The chart by itself suggests short term upside continuation for this setup, lets wait.

Cool indeed or should we say hot? Nutracea has broken through 1.81 and is trading at 52 weeks high.
The volume has surged in October and the stock could go much higher from here.
Try to read through the first post in this thread. The potential in this business model is huge and it seems that the company really has got things together to realise the potential.

This is old news but it is worth to read again. Because it gives confidence in the management and is also a good sign that future expansion will be in line with the budget.
This is penny stock by choice. I think they will finally decide to move to one of the major exchanges but right now they don't give a dime. They are too busy putting a great business together.

Nutracea goes from strength to strength.
We hit another 52 week high today under strong volume. My feeling is that the bying interest is not from retail investors. Is institutional investors accumulating up to the earnings release or move to a major exchange ::)

Thx, I'll keep an eye on it and maybe I'll hop in if it comes down a bit, RSI is approaching 80 so it could consolidate a bit before the next move up or maybe it will never look back and go on! However, earnings are next week and I wasn't planning to hold through earnings because maybe good earnings are already priced in, we'll see ... :)
The top of NTRZ could be around $2.80.
My initial target posted @ premium board ;)
Awesome chart everyone in this ....Make some $$$..... ;)
Let the chart do the talking. ;D
WOW...this morning has been so good. Bracket-stopped-out at 2.5 for a nice gain :'(
To make updates on Nutracea can be a bit boring. They normally start like this: NTRZ is hitting another 52 weeks high today ;)
Today's high is however under very solid volume and the stock have now broken out of the price channel. This is probably connected with the speculation on thestreet.com that the company might receive a take over offer from one of the major rice mills:
http://www.thestreet.com/video/strategysession/10320530.html
From my experience thestreet.com can create spikes on stocks but I rather sell on those occasions than buy. 3SOF has already locked the profit in for 50% of our original investment in Nutrcea so we are in for the long run with the last 50%.
For those of you who are sitting on a nice profit by now you might consider also to sell a bit and buy back if the stock falls back after the gap this morning.

NutraCea Announces Record Third Quarter Results
Tuesday November 14, 5:25 pm ET
- Company Reports Record Gross Revenue and Record Net Income -
EL DORADO HILLS, Calif., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NutraCea (OTC Bulletin Board: NTRZ - News), a world leader in stabilized rice bran research and technology, announced today record financial results and a record profit for its third quarter and nine months ending September 30, 2006, marking the third consecutive quarter of record results.
Total revenues for the three months ended September 30, 2006 were $4,946,174, compared to total revenues of $301,726 for the third quarter of 2005, an increase of over 1,639%. The improved revenues and financial performance on a quarterly comparative basis have primarily resulted from the merger with RiceX and the continued strength of the direct-to-consumer marketing of its nutraceutical products through the quarter ended September 30, 2006. Infomercial sales remained strong and the Company continued to experience growth from its expanded product lines and increased demand of its value-added ingredients for the functional food industry and animal markets.
Total revenues for the nine months ended September 30, 2006 were $12,893,900, compared to total revenues of $1,060,271 for the nine months ended September 30, 2005, an increase of over 1,216%. The significant improvement in revenues and financial performance for the nine months ended September 30, 2006 is the result of the culmination of the merger with RiceX, direct marketing of its expanding proprietary, patented product line and sales of its core products into the functional food industry and animal markets and continued growth in sales of nutraceutical products through direct-to-consumer marketing.
NutraCea reported net income of $641,106 or $0.01 per share for the third quarter of 2006 based on weighted average shares outstanding of 77,377,010, compared to a net loss of $(1,035,544), or $(0.03) per share in 2005 based on 38,033,352 weighted average shares outstanding. NutraCea had a net income of $806,971 or $0.01 per share for the nine months ended September 30, 2006 based on weighted average shares outstanding of 71,685,402, compared to a net loss of $(3,711,245), or $(0.10) per share in 2005 based on 36,756,797 weighted average shares outstanding.
Mr. Brad Edson, President and CEO of NutraCea commented, "We are delighted to report our third consecutive record quarter notwithstanding substantial expenditures in the most recent quarter that were necessary to meet strategic plans to realize continuing growth for the year 2007 and beyond. These expenditures included the addition of highly qualified personnel from the domestic and international food category, as well as the implementation of financial oversight processes to achieve and maintain 404 Compliance and other essential general and administrative expenses. In this quarter we accomplished many of our current business goals, including expanding our production capacity and entered into two new licensing agreements for the use of our formulations in specific channels of distribution. We believe there will be additional strategic agreements and licensing opportunities of equal and potentially greater size in the future. In the ensuing quarters, based on initiatives already underway, we anticipate sustainable positive financial results."
Mr. Edson added, "Several of our planned expansions are either completed or in the final phases of completion. By this time next year the Company is planning to have five plants operational, bringing our total capacity to produce stabilized rice bran to over 70,000 tons per year, compared to a production capacity of less than 10,000 tons per year at the beginning of 2006. We feel confident that there is a very substantial global demand for stabilized rice bran and we intend to explore all potential initiatives to further satisfy that demand."
"Having already obtained significant market demand in the United States," Mr. Edson concluded. "We're focusing on opportunities to extend our reach into other parts of the world and duplicate our U.S. success elsewhere. All of our existing or planned production facilities have been completely financed out of funds already raised and from our cash flow. At the end of the third quarter, the Company remains debt free with cash on hand and marketable securities amounting to $13.4 million. In addition, several million dollars have been added to our balance sheet since the end of the 3rd quarter from the exercise of warrants, which will be reflected in our fourth quarter numbers. We are looking forward to aggressively pursuing and executing on many diverse opportunities that exist worldwide. "

We'll most likely buy NTRZ again really soon
re-entry @ $2.15
1. Introduction
I usually don't look at OTCBB traded stocks (got fed up with it when I was working at www.otcbbcoverage.com) because most of them suffer from a big, big problem: they dilute shareholder value. Since they are very small companies or companies in trouble, most of the times they need the market and investor's money to keep on going.
Not a problem with this, for as long as it isn't my money involved. Let me explain: I think it is good economic policy to let these companies trade and sell shares to the public, because this way they can finance operations and create jobs. But, as an investment, most of the times they suck, because of the dilution effect we were talking about.
Doesn't mean this is the case with NTRZ. Se7en, an Honours Member of 3 Stocks on Fire, requested my view on this stock. So let's study it !
2. Profile
NutraCea (NTRZ), a health science company, engages in the development and distribution of stabilized rice bran and rice bran-based products for the consumer food and animal feed sectors. Its products include food supplements and medical foods for humans and animals, as well as cosmetics and beauty aids based on stabilized rice bran, rice bran derivatives, and rice bran oils. The company's customers include consumer nutrition and healthcare companies, domestic and international food companies, and companion animal feed manufacturers. NutraCea was founded in 2000. The company was formerly known as NutraStar Incorporated and changed its name to NutraCea in 2003. NutraCea is based in El Dorado Hills, California.
3. Technical Analysis
3.1. All History Chart
(http://www.3stocksonfire.org/trading/index.php?action=dlattach;attach=28358;image)
Well, this definitely looks like a penny stock chart.
3.2. Medium Term Chart
(http://www.3stocksonfire.org/trading/index.php?action=dlattach;attach=28359;image)
NTRZ was up 330% in about 1 month in July 05. Then it fell 62% to $0.69. Now the stock is up 280% from the August lows.
So we're talking volatile.
3.3. Short Term Chart
(http://www.3stocksonfire.org/trading/index.php?action=dlattach;attach=28360;image)
The short term trend is still bullish, even though today's session was scary to most holders of the stock. Near the lows of the session it found support on TL 3, the steepest trendline on the chart.
4. Fundamental Analysis
4.1. Number of Shares Outstanding
(http://www.3stocksonfire.org/trading/index.php?action=dlattach;attach=28361;image)

4.2. Liquidity

Outstanding revenue growth in 2006, to, I estimate, about $18 M in sales for the full year. But, and this is a big but, the Price to Sales Ratio is $198.6 M / $18 M = 11 :o. The price to sales ratio of the Food - Major Diversified industry is 1.64, so NTRZ seems extremely overvalued, even considering its fast growth.
4.4. Profits
(http://www.3stocksonfire.org/trading/index.php?action=dlattach;attach=28366;image)
NTRZ will probably profit between $1.5 M and $2 M in fiscal 2006. Even if it makes $2M, and this is way optimistic because the company had net income of just $0.807 M for the 9 months until September, the PER would be $198.6 M / $2 M = 99.
5. General Overview
As I said, monstrous dilution made NTRZ have stratospheric valuations. It wouldn't surprise me to see the share price fall 60 or 70% from current levels, even considering the recent outstanding growth.
I may be wrong, but the odds don't favour the bulls on NTRZ. Good luck though :)
David,
i think u've hit the nail on the head..the dilution scares me too..and its going to take some time till the valuations are justified, inspite of the revenue growth..
I bailed around 2.4, but having riden this up from 1.22, im quite happy.
Will definitely keep on my radar though..and look to get back in at some point in the future.
time for reentry now ?
NutraCea Receives Purchase Order From Pronaca for Stabilized Rice Bran and Solubles

Largest Food Company in Ecuador Advances Research and Development of Stabilized Rice Bran Products for Commercial Development
EL DORADO HILLS, Calif., Nov. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NutraCea (OTC Bulletin Board: NTRZ - News), a world leader in stabilized rice bran research and technology announced today that Pronaca, the largest food producer in Ecuador, has placed its second and more significant order for product, pursuant to its agreement signed with NutraCea in May of this year.
The order, which was shipped this week, is to meet the extensive and continuing product development work and commercial test marketing that Pronaca has been undertaking over the last several months, as a pre-curser to an anticipated full commercial roll out in mid 2007. As detailed in our Sales and Distribution agreement, signed earlier in 2006, Pronaca is pursuing an initial test product development, and market study for the commercialization of various products utilizing NutraCea's stabilized rice bran, both as a stand alone ingredient in animal and food products as well as utilization of Solubles, the higher level fraction as part of finished drinks and ingredient additives for finished products.
"In accordance with the Supply and Marketing Agreement NutraCea signed with Pronaca this shipment complies with the milestone markers for continuation of our agreement and confirms the commitments of the parties to move towards more substantial economic milestones and ultimately mass product roll-out utilizing Pronaca's food distribution system in Ecuador, which is the largest in the country, as well as elsewhere in South America. We feel this shipment will broaden the demand for our products not only in Ecuador, but throughout South America," said Margie Adelman, Senior Vice President of NutraCea.
"We are very eager to receive this shipment of product, which will enable us to move forward with our original plan to explore a variety of uses for NutraCea's products as a value added food ingredient, enhancing Pronaca's livestock and aquaculture projects, and introduction of the products into retail as well as government sponsored feeding programs," said Patricio Calderon, Manager of Rice Business for Pronaca.
"We are very pleased to be partners with Pronaca, which has been in business for more than 40 years, has over 7000 employees and is the largest commercial food producer in Ecuador, with distribution of its products in Brazil, Colombia and Peru. This purchase order demonstrates a firm commitment from Pronaca to advance our mutual interests and we offer our continued support for a successful future product launch in Ecuador and throughout Latin America in 2007," said Brad Edson, President and CEO of NutraCea.

Hi Setravis,
We are in the same boat. We don't know for sure :)
I promised myself to buy this stock back ASAP when we sold it at 2.5. I do strongly believe that the value of Nutracea will increase very significantly in the future. It is not often you see a stock with so strong fundamentals.
I have had a buy order at 2 since I sold at 2.5 and even though there have been a few close calls It was never filled. With the latest hype from thestreet.com I am wondering if I will ever get filled so I have raised my bid to 2.2.
I am Personally not a big fan of thestreet.com but even a blind chicken can find a gold corn ;D
Hi Michael, I also like NTRZ a lot, I asked David for an analysis but he wasn't too positive on it! What do you think? Tia!

Hi Michael, I also like NTRZ a lot, I asked David for an analysis but he wasn't too positive on it! What do you think? Tia!
Nutracea is one of the few cases where David and I do not agree about the fundamentals.
David's main concern is dilution combined with a very high PE ratio.
Dilution is obviously always a concern especially with OTCBB stocks. In case of NTRZ the dilution were a result of the acquisition of RICX and building of the initial production facilities.
The management has clearly stated that free cash flow, partners and debt will finance future growth. As they have more than 13 million in cash and no long-term debt there is quite a lot of space to use cash and debt for expansion.
So yes we have seen significant dilution but it seems to me that the dilution were fully justified as the money were spend in building the platform for future growth.
David is also right about the high PE ratio. It stands at around 300 now. When I did my first analysis of NTRZ (http://www.3stocksonfire.org/trading/index.php?topic=1352.msg71546#msg71546) I had an ambitious EPS target for 2008 of $1. That is probably overly ambitious but I do believe it is a conservative target for 2009. What will the PE ratio be in 2009? They have most likely moved to one of the major exchanges at that time. So I can't see them trade with a PE of less than 15 and most likely much higher.
Even though the last quarter was disappointing (at least from my perspective) the stock has stubbornly refused to come down to test the support at 2. We did however break the uptrend (which is most clear in the weekly chart) two weeks ago.
As said I didn't expect to be out of NTRZ for as long as I have so I will use this weakness to reestablish a position if I get a chance this time :)
NTRZ update:
Has been range trading for a while now, between 2.20 and 2.70. Revently broke out of midline resistance at 2.42, but its still not clear whether it will break out of this current rectangle pattern sooner or later. Friday's candle looks a bit toppy too. Still, one to watch, as obviously its an OTCBB with real potential.
Oooops it seems I will have to increase my bid for NTRZ again. I had hoped that I could pick it up around 2.2 but on Thursday we had yet another insider buy this time at 2.37:
http://www.insidercow.com/forms/2007011/0001063537-07-000001.xml;jsessionid=61C961DA2926CC1C122BB7084DDEABB5
I think I have a good feeling about Nutracea's fundamentals and they certainly tell me that the stock could go much higher from here in the coming months and years. It is nice to see that the insiders share this opinion. It would have been nicer if I owned the stock though >:(

This continues to do solidly. I wonder now that it has broken resistence, is this too late to join in the run up? Or would one express caution and wait for a dip before buying in again?

Another positive article on NTRZ. I feel it will get into the $4 range within 6 months. I am long since .96. If nasdaq expect good move upward. Best to all longs. :)
Is entry point an issue on this one? It seems I have missed the bus. :'(
Fear of pulling the trade trigger. I am a bull at heart with a touch of bear and that prevented me from this one and utlimately costing me today with it rising almost 10%
The stock smashes thru $3!
This is a company that has a proprietary way to take rice husk, the healthiest, but hardest to process WASTE product of rice, the world's most popular food and turn it into rice bran. They spin gold out of straw.
This is an easy double at this point. They have big tax credits at this point and their growth potential is huge! This is a long term hold and will outperform most of the stocks out there.
Pay attention, please.
Here is a nice analysis on one of my favorite companies, NTRZ.ob
They make rice bran from the husk of the rice, normally a waste product. Their raw material costs are nominal and the nutritional value is huge.
The stock is about $3 and for a patient investor, it could be a good holding. A double in the next two years would not surprise me.

Great article. I would saw based on that blog, and I would have to dig a little deeper, this one sounds like it could do much better than what you even hoped for.
This one is definitely on a nice run and need to ride it with strong hands. I need to learn patience and maybe this stock can give me that patience.
nice buying opoortunity IMO
NutraCea Announces $50 Million Private Placement of Common Stock
Friday February 16, 8:25 am ET
Capital Raise Poises Company for Global Expansion
EL DORADO HILLS, Calif., Feb. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NutraCea (OTC Bulletin Board: NTRZ - News), a leader in research and the production and marketing of stabilized rice bran and its derivatives announced today that they have entered into definitive agreements with institutional and accredited investors with respect to a private placement of 20,000,000 shares of common stock at a purchase price of $2.50 per share, for gross proceeds of $50,000,000, before payment of placement agent commissions and offering expenses. Investors also will receive warrants to purchase 10,000,000 shares of common stock at an exercise price of $3.25 per share expiring in five years. Rodman & Renshaw LLC served as exclusive placement agent for the transaction.

Brad Edson, Chief Executive Officer and President of NutraCea stated, "This financing will strengthen NutraCea's ability to expand its proprietary stabilization plants both domestically and in the international markets, allowing us to bring our technology into regions of the world where large scale rice production can provide the raw materials to manufacture our core products. This opportunity for rapid growth positions us to make stabilized rice bran and rice bran derivatives accessible to global communities as a food ingredient, an economical solution for the reduction of malnutrition and for nutraceutical products that address a variety of health issues."
With its current cash balance and its existing contractual commitments, NutraCea believes that it has successfully secured the necessary capital to strengthen its strategic position in the global food marketplace. As an agricultural and technology driven company with added financial resources, NutraCea can now deliver commercially stable rice bran and value added derivative products on a larger scale to help satisfy the rapidly growing world wide demand. The recent sharp price increase in other grain products such as corn and wheat, make stabilized rice bran an even more attractive economic alternative.
The financing described herein was made only to accredited investors in a transaction exempt from the registration requirements of the Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the "Securities Act"). The securities issued in this financing have not been registered under the Securities Act, or any state securities laws, and unless so registered, may not be offered or sold in the United States absent registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission (the "SEC") or an applicable exemption from the registration requirements of the Securities Act and applicable state securities laws. As part of the transaction, NutraCea has agreed to file a registration statement with the SEC covering the resale of the shares of common stock issued in the offering, including the shares of common stock issuable upon exercise of the warrants. This press release does not constitute an offer to sell, or the solicitation of an offer to buy, any securities discussed herein, nor may there be any sale of the securities in any jurisdiction in which such offering would be unlawful.
Thanks for the tip la-onda! I wanted to get into this stock after reading a 2/10 piece by "otcspeculator"... I saw the news 5 minutes after it came out this morning and (since I'm a neophyte) didn't know exactly what to make of it. I went to all the boards and found nothing, but still suspected that it might be a good buying opportunity...You gave me the confirmation I needed in your above post...I picked up 8k shares at 2.75 and they were just trading at 3.06 again-- I guess the market digested the above report.. Thanks again! :)
I guess this is dilution...From The Otcspeculator:
"NTRZ announced this morning that it would raise $50 million in capital with the private placement of 20 million shares to institutional investors at a price of $2.50. The deal also included warrants to buy another 10 million shares at an exercise price of $3.25.
Obviously, I'm not immensely thrilled at the news, as I had speculated that NTRZ should be able to use debt financing to fund a significant part of their expansion, and I was therefore hoping that the company would buy back its warrants and retire them. However, the news should not come as too big of a surprise to readers, because I did highlight dilution as the biggest risk going forward when I profiled NTRZ last week.
Well, what's done is done, and the only thing left to do is look ahead here. Nutracea now has the requisite capital to complete both U.S. and European expansion, and that should allow them to capture all of the available rice bran production in these markets in the next 2 years. Additionally, the company will maintain a strong balance sheet, which should attract investors. Finally, that should be it as far as dilution goes, so the only real wild card going forward is when plants get finished. Because NTRZ is the only company that has the ability to stabilize rice bran, the when is not particularly important, because they will have the U.S. and European markets completely captured by 2009 at the latest.
On the negative side, this dilution is big enough to have an impact on earnings going forward, and will likely have the effect of stalling earnings growth over the first half of 2007. As the markets tend to look 6 months down the road, I don't expect this to be a huge problem, but it does take away some catalysts for near term price appreciation. The bottom line is that NTRZ is an investment, not a trade, and it is going to take some patience here.
As for today's action, the stock is obviously going to take a hit here, but with it poised to open down around $2.70, my profit is no longer big enough to really warrant selling and trying to buy back lower. Plus, I think there is a significant possibility that the stock may close higher than the open, for a couple reasons. First, the stock now has most of the uncertainty out of its way, so the next few weeks may be the last real entry point before the company starts to lay the foundations for its growth plans. Second, if you look at the details of the deal, I would highlight the fact that the company place the warrants at an exercise price of $3.25. That is pretty much at the all time high of the stock, and given the fact that such warrants are usually priced well below the expected value of the stock, the warrants indicate to me that the stock is expected to trade much higher than $3.25 over the longer term. If investors key in on this piece of data, I think they will be reluctant to sell this news.
Obviously, this news throws a bit of a wrench into my valuation analysis, because the shares outstanding now has to be adjusted. I will try to update the valuation this weekend.
Finally, I will be listening closely to NTRZ's presentation at Roth Capital next week, as I expect the CEO to outline a plan to use these funds quickly and efficiently for expansion. If NTRZ is on top of its game and already has detailed plans to use the funds, that could serve as a short term catalyst to boost shares. My hope is that with these new funds, NTRZ will be able to capture the U.S. and European markets more quickly, and thus accelerate the growth path of the company.
In closing, I just wanted to correct myself on a statement regarding NTRZ's process of stabilizing rice bran. The process itself is not patented, but rather, a "trade secret." NTRZ holds a number of patents, but the process itself is not patented. However, this is not really an issue, because even if someone else figures out how to stabilize rice bran in the future, NTRZ will have already captured the entire rice bran production in the U.S. and Europe (as well as potentially other geographic markets). Given the timeline that it takes from discovery of the process to creating a business/raising capital, etc, it is very unlikely that anyone would be able to compete with NTRZ in this business because NTRZ's head start has allowed them to capture entire geographic markets. Thanks to whoever pointed out this discrepancy.
Full disclosure: The author is long NTRZ"
Well...I also learned about a megaphone top today :-\
Opinions needed--Please...Is this NTRZ pattern a "classic triple bull trap"...Anybody else still holding this? Thanks!
Well I sold on Friday.
The credibility of mangement is very important for me and it is less than 6 month ago they guaranteed that we would see no further dilution. Quoting from memory (which is a bit rusty after 6 months!): "Investment in capacity expansions will be covered by financing from clients, free cash flow and debt financing".
NTRZ has had a history of dilution as David rightly has pointed out a few times. If they could have expanded their capacity without issuing new shares I truly believe this would have been a great investment going forward.
It isen't exactly cheap at this level so I prefer to be out of the stock for now but still keeping it on my watch list.
It has however been a great investment ;)
Hi Michael,
Thanks for your timely weigh-in. You've just helped me solidify my plan of action for Tues. morning. I'm learning as I go here and one of the most valuable things I've learned today is to follow your posts! Thanks again :).
Sell?
This is the one you should scoop up on every dip. Raising money is part of doing business and this company is in its infancy.
There is no company like it. They make food from waste - compare it to buying McDonald's at $3.35 a share.
Don't be penny wise about this company - it is very likely to see $5 soon! And this is the type of company that magazines love to write about - look at XNL, the company that made ethanol from garbage - it had a great run b4 they found out they will likely never make money - but the story was great.
This is a real product - the rice bran is used regularly in pet foods. That is their biggest market for now. And I am sure what Americans feed their pets could be nutricious, gourmet dining in some 3rd world countries.
Buy 1000 shares - if it drops 20%, never listen to the Snowster again. But look at the numbers (at the beginning of this thread) and you will see the potential in this company!
And while you are at it, take another look at BRVO!
I don't know Snowster, I thought this thing would tank out after that milquetoast announcement about simply raising one plant to level 2 and having done that significant dilution. There seems to be a lot of green love (European and North American) for this stock...Hey feed the world and make money too!... I bought 10k shares at 2.75 and sold them yesterday (next trading day) at 3.09... The dilution just didn't sit right with me...Now shares are up to what 3.38? I don't get it. Especially since all of the institutional selling for the last 2 days:
http://thomson.finance.lycos.com/lycos/iwatch/cgi-bin/iw_ticker?ticker=xing
I don't know Snowcat...you probably have a few things to teach me... ???
The real institutions, the mutual funds, will not touch this stock until it is $15. It will get some attention when it is $5.
But who knows - it could be the next BRVO - pulling everyone in with visions of grandeur and then collapsing.
My next rumor is that Coke is going to buy the company and promise to market Rice Bran Cola! (a little BRVO joke there).
Actually the company is very attractive - and I would not be surprised if an ADM or Bunge has its sites on it. Rice bran is very nutricional and it is likely could replace more expensive ingredience.
Look at the original 3 stocks analysis and the recent Blog analysis - and then compare it with your own numbers and speculation.
And once you see the constructive value of this stock, look at the destructive value of my other favorite cheapie, MTSX - an electric pulse gun that can fire 1million bullets a minute (hey, now that rice husk is valuable, they have to fight over it)
awesome results:
NutraCea Announces Record Fourth Quarter and Record Fiscal Year 2006 Financial Results
Monday April 2, 5:00 am ET
- Company Reports Net Earnings of $778,000 for the 4th Quarter and Record Net Earnings of $1,585,000 for Fiscal 2006 -
EL DORADO HILLS, Calif., April 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NutraCea (OTC Bulletin Board: NTRZ - News), a world leader in stabilized rice bran research and technology, announced today another record quarter and record profits for the twelve months ended December 31, 2006, marking the fourth consecutive quarter of record results.
Total revenues for the three months ended December 31, 2006 were $5,196,000, compared to total revenues of $4,504,000 for the fourth quarter of 2005. The improved revenues and financial performance on a quarterly comparative basis have primarily resulted from the continued strength of the direct-to-consumer marketing of its nutraceutical products through the quarter ended December 31, 2006. The Company continued to experience growth from its expanded product lines and increased demand of its value-added ingredients for the functional food industry and animal markets.
Total revenues for the twelve months ended December 31, 2006 were $18,090,000, compared to total revenues of $5,564,000 for the twelve months ended December 31, 2005, an increase of over 225%. The significant improvement in revenues and financial performance for the twelve months ended December 31, 2006 is the result of the culmination of the merger with RiceX, direct marketing of its expanding line of products and sales of its core products into the functional food industry and animal markets and continued growth in sales of nutraceutical products through its licensing program. (A Consolidated Statement of Operations and Consolidated Balance Sheet are set forth below.)
NutraCea reported net income of $778,000 or $0.01 per share for the fourth quarter of 2006 based on weighted average shares outstanding of 76,696,000, compared to a net loss of $(161,000), or $(0.00) per share in 2005 based on 38,815,000 weighted average shares outstanding. NutraCea had a net income of $1,585,000 or $0.02 per share for the twelve months ended December 31, 2006 based on weighted average shares outstanding of 76,696,000 compared to a net loss of $(3,872,000), or $(0.10) per share in 2005 based on 38,615,000 weighted average shares outstanding.
Mr. Brad Edson, President and CEO of NutraCea commented, "We are pleased to report our fourth consecutive record quarter and a record year, notably our first full year of profitability. This significant turnaround within just the last 15 months is a major achievement for the Company.
"During the fourth quarter we accomplished many significant milestones, including the expansion of our production capacity in our Dillon, Montana facility, the signing of several new distribution agreements for our products, and the achievement of recognizing the second consecutive quarter of licensing revenue from our patented formulations. We believe there will be additional plant expansions, strategic agreements and licensing opportunities during 2007 and beyond. In the ensuing quarters, based on initiatives already underway, we continue to anticipate sustainable positive financial results," continued Mr. Edson.
Mr. Edson concluded, "We are diligently focusing on opportunities to extend our production capability within the United States, and to further reach into other parts of the world to duplicate our U.S. success elsewhere. Our bolstered balance sheet, now carrying more than $60 million in cash and no debt, will assist us in such expansion and positions us, perhaps for the first time in the Company's history, to be able to take advantage of more significant world wide opportunities that up until now have been unobtainable. We look forward to sharing these achievements with shareholders as they may arise."
NTRZ reported yet again a record quarter and full year results this morning resulting in a short term breakout on the bullish chart. This was NTRZ's first year of profitability reporting and eps of .02 compared to the expected .01 for fy 06 making a grounbreaking step into NTRZ's future growth and profitability. NTRZ had a reported 17m on the year or 225% increase from 2005. NTRZ is suspected to have a huge increase in earning for fy 2007 with eps of .10 compared to this years .02 and fy revenues of 43m compared to the 06 17m. So we still have a large amount of growth to consider for NTRZ into 2007 and years to come. NTRZ unfortunately has been subject to some dilution most notably the recent $50m common stock private placement of 20m shares. Though i think the dilution is over for NTRZ and they're in a great position for there future plans of global expansion as there balance sheet is looking healthy with $60m in cash and no-debt as well no insiders have been selling any of there shares from the recent purchases back when we first bought NTRZ near 1.50.
Comments from CEO about the results and future plans for expansion:

I think the growth here and room for expansion with NTRZ makes it worthy of a spot in the speculation chamber again.

I'm finally back in @ 3.05
Great numbers and bright, bright future.
This stock is way cheap and will run hard for long time to come...
JMHO of course... NTRZ Is in my portfolio for the long term.
Excellent story and beautiful chart.... ;)
The ratios look good and with increased prices, will likely head this stock higher.
The time is now for NutraCea. They can sell all that they produce, but they cannot yet produce all that they can sell. 2007 will be a growth year for production capacity, with a direct follow-through in revenue growth and capital resources development. Few other companies can back up a output/revenue model with high-gain achievable output projections like NTRZ. Now is not the time to sell, but, to hold, or build any position.

02 - 2.4 mil
03 - 11.8
04 - 36.7
05 - 67.1

Also -
If they are selling all they can make, when will new facilities come on line and what is the anticipate ROI?
Given the apparent need for expansion, when is it likely that net margins will improve?
If the stock were to have a PE of around 20, the company would need over 26 million in net profit ( compared to fy 06 of 1.6 mil) to warrant a $6 share price at the current share count of 87.1 mil.
Does anyone really think they will accomplish this any time soon or is this a momentum play?

latest chart (will the 3.6$ gap be filled?
NTRZ may be following the blue trendline.
It does look like it is channel surfing. I still think it is one of the best buys on the market right now and the word is still not out. I thought the deal with ADM (which I predicted) would get more airplay. The stock jumped 10%, but the articles in Newsweek did not pop up.
The deal with ADM is major credability (but I thought the BRVO/Coke deal was major too- BRVO now down to a nickel). Maybe now that all the corn in the US is being used for ethanol, they need something to feed the cattle. Or maybe rice husk can be made into fuel?
Either way, I would look to scoop up more on the next rebound. I was last in at 3 and am holding tight for now. It is a long term play.
also a long term play for me 8)

Any thoughts ???? :-\ :'(
The drop was due to lower than expected earnings.....three deals thought to be included in the 1Q were not because of various silly delays. They will instead be included in the 2nd Q.
This has nothing to do with the abilities of the co, just crappy timing. It happens.
That is why you do not hold through earnings.
FOUS wrote to sell at 5 - and he was right!!! He the man!
However, I would not hesitate to buy this baby back.
They have $62 mil in cash and 0 debt.
They just bought a pellet making co for their animal food biz.
The potential of this company is massive! I can see a lot better days down the line.
Current price is $3.75 - I think it will be back to $5 soon.
Or my name isn't Snowcat!

NTRZ: Enters JV with Indonesian Industrialist
Monday , June 25, 2007 09:00ET

[email protected]NutraCea (NTRZ) announced that it has entered the commercial food ingredient market as well as expanding its humanitarian aid programs in Southeast Asia by forming a joint venture with an Indonesian industrialist affiliated with PT Panganmas Inti Persada, one of the largest wheat milling operations in Southeast Asia.

NutraCea Announces Record Second Quarter and Six Months Financial Results
Tuesday , August 14, 2007 19:26ET
PHOENIX, Aug. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NutraCea (OTC Bulletin Board: NTRZ), a leader in stabilized rice bran ("SRB") nutrient research and technology, announced today its financial results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2007.
Total revenues for the second quarter were approximately $13.0 million, an increase of $8.8 million, or 212% from the second quarter fiscal 2006. For the three months ended June 30, 2007, the Company's net profit was $2 million, or $0.01 per diluted share, compared to a net profit of $399,000, or $0.00 per diluted share, in the same period last year. For the six months ended June 30, 2007, the Company's net profit was $1.8 million, or $0.01 per diluted share compared to a net profit of $166,000, or $0.00 per diluted share for the six months ended June 30, 2006.
Gross margin from product sales in the second quarter was $4.1 million, or 52%, compared to $1.8 million, or 44%, during the second quarter of last year. Gross margin from product sales for the six months was $5.0 million, or 50%, compared to $3.5 million or 44% during the six months of the previous year.
For the six months ended June 30, 2007, consolidated revenues were approximately $15 million, an increase of approximately $7 million, or 89% compared to the comparable six months of the previous year.
Chief Executive Officer Mr. Bradley Edson stated, "NutraCea has delivered a solid quarter of sales growth and new initiatives. During the quarter several new products were launched with our stabilized rice bran as a primary ingredient and we expect more product launches from major food companies going forward and to experience progress in all channels of distribution. We have expanded our production capacity and we intend to continue to do so both domestically and internationally. In the past year we have increased our capacity from less that ten thousand tons annually to over 40,000 with expectations of reaching 80,000 tons during first quarter of 2008. The estimated global demand still far exceeds our current production capacity and we will endeavor to meet that demand as quickly as possible."
Mr. Leo Gingras, COO of NutraCea noted, "Our expansion in the U.S. continues at an aggressive pace with completion of our Mermentau, LA and Arbuckle, CA plants, completion of our expansion at Dillon, MT and the acquisition of assets in Freeport, TX. Construction of our Lake Charles, LA, facility, although delayed by weather, should be completed in the first quarter of 2008. We are particularly pleased that our international expansion plans have taken a large step forward with the formation of our joint venture in Southeast Asia, a region that produces more than ten times as much rice bran as the U.S. and E.U combined. We are also moving ahead on our first European facility and look forward to servicing our customers in the E.U. with local production in 2008.
Edson concluded, "We see diverse markets for stabilized rice bran and have taken appropriate steps to increase demand, develop marketing channels and increase production capacity. We have a proprietary product which has unique nutritional benefits, and, to date, we are the only company that can lay claim to the process that can stabilize rice bran with a shelf life of over one year without diminishing its superior nutrient profile. The balance sheet continues to remain strong with $51.5 million in cash and cash equivalents and no debt. We look forward to successfully capitalizing on the opportunities that lay ahead."

I start to see some real bargains in this market and NTRZ is one of them. Yes the result was not outstanding but the strength of the business model and the outlook for the company is as good as when I last bought NTRZ (at the same price as they are trading at today :o) and the balance sheet is even stronger. I have therefore startet a position here.
Other stocks bought today are FRO, VLO, QXM and STO. The list might be longer during the day if the sell off continues ;)
A great opportunity for bargain hunting but be selective!!
just fyi, Michael 8)

Thanks Oliver!
I sold NTRZ again. I guess I have been out of the market for toooo long - a 10% profit in a couple of hours was just to much to resist ;)
I will buy it again though - probably higher than I sold it (1.59) but in this market it is nice to sit on cash.
For the record: I have also sold FRO.
I have buy orders for both the stocks in the market just in case there will be another buying opportunity >:D
I have already named Rams in his post over @ the T/A Board on his thread of the S&P 500. Excuse me that is on the 'Major World Indices Board'....... ;D

NTRZ is on sale here under $2 JMHO
Had a nice trade from 1.50 to around 3 earlier this year but have kept readinga nd watching this one. Sig insider buy at 2.95, almost bought back around 2.5o, but held off, now have started a pos at 1.70.
their Market cap is still high compared to enterprise vaue... but look, almost no debt, increasing production capacity, more demand than they can fill,
insiders are supporting http://www.secform4.com/insider-trading/1063537.htm
there seems to be a negetive golden X about to happen and if we see the low $1's I will buy some more
I believe in a year, especially 2 years we will look back and see what a bargain this is here under $2
Keep up the great posts, Michael, setravis and everyone

Hi Joet,
I like to keep my promises and one was to buy back Nutracea if I got a second chance. Well I did today :)
I am a little better prepared this time having listened to the CC and even though the quarter was disappointing I believe Nutracea has the potential to become one of the best investments that I have ever made so this time I will sit tight on my stocks ;D
I am going on a Safari to Maracuene River this weekend to go canoeing. There is nothing like being on a silent flowing river in the sunset thinking about the next stock that will secure my retirement on a small island in the indian ocean ;D
(http://www.3stocksonfire.org/trading/index.php?action=dlattach;attach=40052;image)
This picture is from a previous trip and I have to say that I am going a bit further down the river (in the salty part). Crocs do In theory not like salty water even though I understand that this is an issue that is still being discussed in intellectual circles.
Well I am just a simple investor trying to find value in the murky waters of Wall Street. I think I have found it in Nutracea. As long as all Nutracea's plants are in US the company will have some seasonality and it seems like the investors are not looking beyond the most recent quarter.
4th quarter will be outstanding and will result in a PE that even David would find attractive. The PE is already in the fifties. That is really cheap for a company which biggest headache is how to meet the demand and who has a 50% gross margin. When they start to roll-out plants in Asia the seasonality will diminish and the value will hopefully be clear for everybody
I'm back in NTRZ.OB
Just can't pass up a good bargain! ;D
My average price is 1.5912...
Does anyone have any suggestion for why this stock have fallen so much lately?
On the yahoo-board an article is mentioned
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/main.jhtml?xml=/earth/2007/08/29/eababy129.xml
but I can't see that being the cause?
Well - now we'll see what happens. >:D
yes I am surprised to see this price still declining
could it be just technical as the 50 is crossing under the 200's? (reverse Golden X?) I cant imagine that there will be to much bad news with all of the insider buying...
the markets are full of surprises, but i will add more below 1.30 or above 2 (at least in the near future :) I too plan on holding a "core" position of NTRZ for some time.
(but also need to remember to take profit, I did not on SMTX recently up to 7's and i got in at 1.90, still holing ALL and added at 4 adn 2.20 on the way down... poor trading, hopefully good investing...)
Cheers joe
PS Michael, i also still hold PCYG basing nicely
Wow - I'm quite a trader, huh?

Currently I'm 14.53% underwater with my NTRZ that I bought on friday.
I guess I'll hang on to them - can't bear to sell with a loss.

Hmmm.... We have to work on the timing but it seems like the relentless selling has been replaced by relentless buying ::)
Nutracea is a great growth story even though it is still not reflected on the bottom line as the company has to take upfront cost to prepare for expansions.
Concerning arsenic this statement will hopefully put that issue to rest: http://www.nutracea.com/arsenic_announcement.php
Somebody made a killing below 1.2!
imho NTRZ will be going down once again, I will start to buy below 1.2$ ;)
