thanks
To me this is a great pattern. I'm just tied up with some positions at the moment. May move into this tomorrow too. Goodluck ;)
I will be picking up DOC - Digital Angel and ADSX - Applied Digital Solutions early next week.
There is a small mania developing after the U.S senate urges the DOA to use specifically DOC's RFID technology. ADSX is moving as well on high volume. This may be a mania just like Bird-Flue, nanotech, stem-cell, etc...
U.S. Senate Urges Department of Agriculture to Consider Digital Angel RFID Technology in National Animal Identification Program
Wednesday November 30, 9:25 am ET
Senate Version of 2006 Agriculture Appropriations Bill Makes Specific Reference to Digital Angel Technology and Allocates $33.3 Million for Projects Related to National Animal ID Program
SO. ST. PAUL, Minn., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Digital Angel Corporation (Amex: DOC - News), an advanced technology company in the field of rapid and accurate identification, location tracking and condition monitoring of high-value assets, announced today that the U.S. Congress has set aside $33.3 million for projects related to the national animal identification program. The Senate version of the Bill urges the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to consider Digital Angel's RFID technology in developing that program.
Language in the Senate version of the recently approved FY2006 Agriculture Appropriations Bill noted that Digital Angel RFID technology has already proven its value to the federal government during the Company's 15-year relationship with the U.S. Department of Energy and its work in the salmon fishing industry. Digital Angel provides the government with electronic tags and scanners to track salmon in fisheries throughout the Northwest.
Since the December 2003 incident of Mad Cow Disease (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy) in the state of Washington, the USDA has initiated the development of a national animal identification program for cattle, with a target completion date of 2008-2009.
"Digital Angel has a proud history of leadership in animal identification, specifically related to cattle, pigs and other livestock, as well as fish and poultry, and our inclusion in the senate version of this bill shows that the U.S. Senate has recognized that," said Digital Angel CEO Kevin McGrath. "Significant amounts of money have been spent for several years in pilot programs to understand what technologies will work in animal identification programs. We believe the information that has been gathered is now advanced enough that a significant portion of the money appropriated this year should be spent on the implementation of a national ID program and we hope the USDA, through its Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), agrees."
Digital Angel's proprietary and comprehensive RFID traceability system includes electronic tags and scanners as well as a database system that can provide for the registration, tracking and source verification for the animals tagged in the national identification program. The Company expects to sell more than 3 million electronic RFID tags in the U.S. this year.

Digital Angel Corporation to Introduce Its Proprietary Bio-Thermo(TM) (Temperature-Sensing) Implantable RFID Microchip and Identity System for Use in Avian Flu Applications
Monday December 5, 9:25 am ET
Early Detection of Increased Temperature May Prove Pivotal to Identification and Control of Avian Flu Outbreaks
SO. ST. PAUL, Minn., Dec. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Digital Angel Corporation (Amex: DOC - News), an advanced technology company in the field of rapid and accurate identification, location tracking, and condition monitoring of high-value assets, announced today that it will introduce its patented Bio-Thermo(TM) (temperature-sensing) implantable RFID microchip and related identity system to international poultry/bird markets with the initial geographic emphasis in Asia. The comprehensive identity system includes the implantable Bio-Thermo microchip and related identity and temperature-sensing scanners that allow early identification of temperature increases in individual birds which may permit rapid identification and control of an outbreak of bird flu or other avian diseases.
Until now the Company has focused its implantable RFID temperature sensing system on the companion pet and equine marketplace. The system is in testing phases for other livestock such as cattle and swine. "As disease and bio-terrorism increasingly threaten the global food chain and the health of humans and livestock, the Company has targeted new applications in this area," said Kevin McGrath, President and CEO of Digital Angel. He also noted that the Company's identity microchips have already been used in avian identification applications.
"Just as we made our identification products available to Gulf Coast communities in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, we believe that our proprietary technology should be made available to threatened countries and researchers working to control the spread of avian flu," said McGrath. "We have had 200,000 bio-thermo chips manufactured for this and companion pet applications and we are immediately prepared to work with research institutions and government entities on any further research necessary to control avian flu."
"Our decision to target the poultry markets is an extension of the success we've had in implantable microchips in Asia and elsewhere. Clearly we have sold more implantable microchips for animals than anyone in the world," McGrath said. "As the only provider of temperature sensing RFID microchips in the world for livestock, the detection of elevated temperatures in avian populations represents a new yet natural application of our technology. Since early detection of temperature increases could be important to identifying and controlling bird flu outbreaks, our Bio-Thermo identity system may prove instrumental in dealing with the disease in a cost effective manner within the confines of a poultry farm."
McGrath said Leo Ortenblad, Managing Director of Digital Angel's International Animal Applications sales activities, will lead the initiative.
"Leo is an eight year veteran of Digital Angel and, because he has broad experience in Asia and other international markets, he is ideally suited to leading this effort," McGrath said.
Very good news out this morming for DOC. It may break through the 200 day avg, with high volume, we'll see. Please note that the $3.00 resistance mark was tested 2 times, before it broke through and $3.00 become support.

Digital Angel Corporation Receives Order for 1.1 Million Visual Identification Tags From Smithfield Foods in Poland
Thursday December 15, 7:25 am ET
First Shipments of Tags to World's Largest Processor of Pig Products Has Begun
SO. ST. PAUL, Minn., Dec. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Digital Angel Corporation (Amex: DOC - News), an advanced technology company in the field of rapid and accurate identification, location tracking, and condition monitoring of high-value assets, announced today that it has received a purchase order from Smithfield Foods Inc., the world's largest pork producer, for 1.1 million visual ear identification tags for Smithfield's swine operations in Poland. The first shipments of the visual tags to Smithfield began this month and the remainder will be shipped on a monthly basis.
The order calls for Digital Angel's Denmark-based subsidiary, Daploma International, to deliver the tags to the various farms Smithfield owns and operates throughout Poland. Digital Angel is working with PPA POLNET, Poland's largest tag distributor, on the Smithfield account.
European Union regulations require that all pigs, cattle and livestock throughout Europe, including Poland, be tagged for identification and traceability purposes. While the requirements allow tattooing of pigs, Smithfield has chosen to use visual tags to insure better traceability.
"This is a significant order from Smithfield and obviously a very important milestone for Digital Angel," said Digital Angel CEO Kevin McGrath. "Smithfield is a respected and innovative leader in meat processing throughout the world and is known for the quality of their products. We are proud they have chosen us as a supplier to help them in that effort. We look forward to working closely with them and demonstrating our ability to provide the best in identification and traceability services."
McGrath added that the order from Smithfield demonstrates the value of Digital Angel's recent purchase of Daploma and the importance of the Company's global reach.
"Livestock tagging and tracking is a global business and we are working diligently to capture significant portions of the market all over the world," McGrath said. "There is no question that Eastern Europe, in addition to North and South America, is an important market and we believe this new relationship with Smithfield bodes well for our future in that part of the world."
Also, please be aware that if you buy this stock you may also be helping me win the stock picking contest.

chart looks interesting:
This one is perking up again.Volume was heavy, keep an eye on this one today..
Holding firm on the open, looks likely to break the 200dma with the macd crossed over.
That 200 dma is like Krytonite to DOC. I had a position from three weeks ago at 3.13 that I sold today at 3.42. I had a 3.60 limit order target that just missed the last couple days when it only got as high at 3.55. I think it might roll over and head back down toward $3, and the upside is limited by resistance at the 200 dma and in the 3.60's as seen in the chart below. Not a great risk/reward profile in the short-term so I sold.
Cramer mentioned this today on his radio show and the stock reacted immediately when he said he liked it a lot. However, he can't recommend it because of the small size. The street.com staffers will review it for possible inclusion in thestreet.com's stocks under $10
Got the close over the 200 dma on strong volume. If it can break thru 3.65 area then its free on up to 4.To see the big picture pull up a 3yr chart and look at the pattern back on Oct. 04,the pattern is strickingly similar to the one currently. Also the 50dma was coming up to meet the 200dma,just like it is today. Also back in 04 the stock was coming out of a 1yr downtrend as is today. It remains to b seen whether the pattern repeats itself but so far its looking that way.
Gonna be on the Lou Dobbs news tonight
Nice ascending triangle breakout today with above average volume confirmation. Increased EPS and and revenues over the past few years. Im buying tomorrow morning >:D

Hey fousc, Great Call... let's buy DOC tomorrow (applaud) ;)
I think 13 day EMA already crosses above 200 day MA... Last candlestick already close above 200 day MA.... Hmmmmm.. ;)
Call me cautious but I like to track the 200sma and 200ema on my charts as both tend to get in the way in terms of support / resistance. On a weekly chart, whilst the 200sma has been broken, significant resistance and the 200ema are just pennies above the current price. A break above that then great.
I'll watch with interest, good luck.
In this morning at 3.80 >:D

Digital Angel Reports 1.9 Million Electronic RFID Livestock Tags Sold During 2005 - An Increase of 73 Percent Over 2004
February 15, 2006 07:30:35 (ET)
SO. ST. PAUL, Minn., Feb 15, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Digital Angel Corporation (DOC, Trade), an advanced technology company in the field of rapid and accurate identification, location tracking, and condition monitoring of high-value assets, announced that the total sales of its electronic RFID (radiofrequency identification) livestock tags increased by 73 percent in 2005 -- to 1.9 million -- compared to 2004. The Company also announced that the upward sales trend is accelerating to date in 2006 and that it had already received orders for approximately 1 million RFID livestock tags.
Commenting on the increased electronic tag sales, President and CEO Kevin N. McGrath said: "The significant increase in e-tag sales is a result, in part, of the livestock industry's growing use of Digital Angel's RFID as a technology of choice in the U.S., Canada and around the world. As we get closer to full implementation of a National Identification Program in the U.S., retailers, producers and cattlemen, in general are preparing for the evolution into RFID technology as a standard in the livestock tracking industry. Both in the U.S. and internationally, the use of RFID in livestock tracking continues to grow. We believe that Digital Angel, with our more than 60 years of history in the livestock tracking business, is well positioned to be a major participant in the evolution and implementation of this technology worldwide."
McGrath noted that the Congress has appropriated more than $34 million for the National Identification Program in 2006. In particular McGrath observed, "The whole industry is encouraging the U.S. Department of Agriculture to make 2006 the year of implementation."
Digital Angel sold almost 50 million visual ear tags in 2005, up from 26 million in 2004, as a result of growth in the U.S. market, the acquisition of Daploma in Europe and the launch of the business in South America.
Digital Angel will report its complete 2005 fourth quarter and year-end results on March 8, 2006

Solid breakout on heavy volume. No complaints over here 8)
DOC mentioned that sales are growing at an accelerated pace. This is a NEW industry and ADSX and DOC are the leaders in the animal tagging pure play. The Verichip IPO, IMO, is a distraction and a ploy to raise funds for both ADSX and DOC.
Enjoying the ride up. I hope history repeats itself, like the previou run to $7.00, then close to $9.00. We'll see.
Also, when Net Income is comes in negative this quarter, don't be alarmed, it's mainly due to stock based compensation, which does not impact cash flow.

.....from this morning's WSJ on RFID:
New Kind of Cattle Branding:
An ID Number
By ILAN BRAT
March 1, 2006; Page B1
In a new twist on cattle branding, U.S. livestock may now get individual identification numbers.
Today in Washington, a nonprofit industry group plans to launch a program that aims to assign each cow, bison and other livestock its own 15-digit number and track their movements in a national database. Animals would be tagged, perhaps in the ear with a bar code or a radio-frequency chip. Another alternative: a chip could be implanted beneath the animal's skin.
The goal is to make it easier for animal health officials to track the source of any outbreak of mad-cow or other animal disease -- and limit its scope. The U.S. is far behind Canada and European Union countries in sophisticated methods to track livestock.
Under the plan, which is voluntary, every time an animal is sold, its number and buyer is registered in the database to help pinpoint its movements. In the event of a disease outbreak, this information could help locate previous owners of the infected animal and other animals it possibly had contact with. Officials could then impose quarantines or other restrictions.
Lack of such a system hampered U.S. investigators following the first U.S. case of mad-cow disease in 2003. They found only 27 of the 80 cows reared with an infected holstein on an Alberta, Canada, dairy farm.
U.S. ranchers have long resisted an ID tracking program partly because they fear they may be liable for a food-safety problem. But McDonald's Corp. and other large beef customers have been pushing for it. Federal regulators also have been prodding the industry for such a system. The lack of one has made foreign trading partners nervous. Japan, once the country's largest export beef market, has a ban on U.S. beef imports.
[madcow]
To track the nation's cattle, cows would be tagged with an ID number, perhaps in the ear.
The new system, with an estimated start-up cost of $2.5 million to $3 million, is part of a pilot effort that has been tracking about 300,000 animals in the Southeast and Northwest. The U.S. Department of Agriculture will issue the codes and the U.S. Animal Identification Organization, a nonprofit industry group, will administer the database.
Pigs, chickens and other poultry could be part of the program, and are likely to be identified by group lot or coop. They, like cattle, aren't completely anonymous now: livestock owners have methods of identifying their animals, whether it's branding cattle, an ear tattoo for swine or a coop number for poultry.
So far, industry response to an ID system has been tepid. In 2004, the USDA, along with state veterinary offices, started a voluntary program for livestock producers and suppliers to register the location of their animals. Of about two million such locations in the country, including feedlots and auction houses, only about 200,000 have registered, the USDA says.
Neil Hammerschmidt, the USDA's national identification system coordinator, says customers -- from processors to consumers -- are likely to demand to know where the meat comes from. "Producers are recognizing that it's to their benefit in the long run to help protect the health of the national herd," says Rick Stott, chairman of the Northwest Pilot Project, which is part of the pilot program.

Now that the world knows about DOC and how its technology can apply to both Bird Flu and Mad Cow, it'll be interesting to see if it'll start getting attention from the big boys. Here's the story:

If I remember correctly, NVAX started its hype with CNBC as a catalyst. This is the perfect play for both bird flu and mad cow. I don't see a better way to track and contain outbreak of diseases such as these.
