Title: CHTR
Post by: saffeysite1 on May 19, 2005, 03:54:58 PM
Sold mt TWTR position.  No volume today and the price wasn't moving.  Got a little nervous and dumped.  Bought at @2.60 sold at 3.35.  Not bad small profit.

I then saw CHTR with tremendous volume and just pulled the trigger and exchanged it for the TWTR position.

The bulls are coming!!!!

If it trades higher then $1.21 the door will be open to a bigger move...
It looks like a nice pick... I'll keep it on my watch list ;)

thanks for any of your input since I am not native English speaking hope you understand what do I mean...new in the market....new comer in U.S.  CHTR $1.22 seems is the resistance ..Is it good buy once it break that area?

wait till it breaks 1.22 resist.  I owned this stock when it was 0.96, made a few cents off of it, but it never could punch thru the resis.  This company has had a lot of cash burning, and recently floated a lot of new shares.  A little shaky.

It breaks resistance area around $1.25. Nice upside potential if it can do that with volume confirmation. Double bottom rising support line at resistance. Watching.

CHTR news of new growth initiatives:
Charter Ramps Up Telephone Launches: Adds 1 Million Homes Passed in Seven New Markets
Monday April 17, 9:00 am ET
Now Serves 191,000 Phone Customers

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 17, 2006--Charter Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:CHTR - News; along with its subsidiaries, the "Company" or "Charter") has accelerated its launch of telephone service in the communities it serves. Charter today announced that it launched telephone service in seven new markets in the first quarter of 2006, significantly expanded service in existing telephone markets and extended telephone capability to 1 million new homes. As a result, Charter offered telephone service to nearly 3.9 million homes and had more than 191,000 telephone customers as of March 31, 2006.

The seven markets now offering Charter's phone service include Long Beach/San Gabriel Valley, CA; Willimantic and Newtown, CT; Chicopee, MA; Blount County and Jackson, TN; and Gwinnett, GA. Charter also expanded its telephone service in Sturgeon Bay, Wausau, and Northeast WI; Bristol, VA; Asheville, NC; and Moreno and Adelanto, CA.

"We're giving telephone customers a choice where they've had none before, and the response has been extremely positive, especially for our flat-rate unlimited long-distance service," said Ted Schremp, senior vice president and general manager of Charter's telephone service. "As the second entrant in a previously monopolistic phone market, we are well-positioned to compete with our three-product bundle, which includes video, high-speed Internet, and telephone service."

A growing number of Charter's customers are purchasing a bundle of two or three products, and the company is experiencing higher customer penetration and reduced churn in markets where it offers telephone service in addition to its video and Internet access services. "We're working hard to use our network advantages to build strong customer relationships," said Neil Smit, Charter's president and chief executive officer. "We'll continue to aggressively roll out telephone service to make the three-product bundle available in a majority of our footprint, and we're on track to offer telephone service to between six million and eight million homes by year end."

Charter's telephone offer includes unlimited local and long-distance calling, as well as popular calling features and voice mail, all for a flat rate of $39.99 per month for customers who also purchase video or high-speed Internet service. Customers who subscribe to all three Charter services qualify for additional discounts and receive the convenience of a single bill for all services.

Charter Rolls Out Enhanced High-Speed Internet Service
Thursday September 21, 9:00 am ET
Faster 10 mbps Download Speed and Advanced Security Suite Improve the Internet Experience for Customers

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 21, 2006--As part of its continuing focus on enhancing the customer experience and expanding its digital product offerings, Charter Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: CHTR - News) today announced that it is offering 10 mbps service as well as an upgraded security suite to High-Speed Internet (HSI) customers around the country.

"To keep pace with their Internet usage, customers want faster and faster download speeds and improved security, and Charter is continuing to meet those demands. Our new 10 mbps service is among the fastest Internet speeds available in our markets today. Coupled with our comprehensive security suite, it will provide our customers with a better Internet experience - especially when downloading multi-media content and utilizing multiple computers at the same time via a home network," said Himesh Bhise, vice president of Charter's High-Speed Internet. "This is a good example of how we're investing in our business to provide the leading-edge products our customers want."

More than 25 percent of U.S. households have a home network. In addition, approximately 36 percent of online users engage in online games, and 25 percent download music. The greater bandwidth of Charter's 10 mbps service will make home networks more responsive to multiple users, it will enable online gamers to host multi-player games and chat with other gamers during play, and it will decrease the time needed to download music and movies. The service's 1 mbps upload speed will also allow customers to send large files like digital photos more quickly.

Charter will complete the rollout of 10Mbps in all markets in the fall. The Company's three operating divisions are currently signing up 10Mbps customers in 15 of its 20 key market areas across the country where 10 Mbps service is available. In addition, Charter has deployed 5Mbps service across its three operating divisions and is currently signing up 5Mbps subscribers in all 20 Charter key market areas.

"In addition to faster download speeds, Internet security plays a crucial role in improving the online experience," Mr. Bhise said. "To stay ahead of an ever-changing industry and to protect our customers against a host of new Internet threats, Charter has partnered with F-Secure, an award-winning Internet security provider, to offer our upgraded High-Speed Security Suite version 6.15."

This new security software offers several features including:

Root kit detection, which protects against hackers;
Anti-virus and Spyware protection;
Parental Controls;
Personal Firewall, to protect personal information
Charter's new security suite is easy to use, updates automatically, and is available at no cost to customers who have 3 mbps service or higher.

"With the rollout of these new HSI features, we're offering our customers faster speeds and better security protection, a package that is impressive, both on its own and as part of our attractively-priced 3-product bundle that combine data, voice and phone," Mr. Bhise said.

As of June 30, 2006, Charter had 2.4 million residential high-speed Internet customers nationwide. Charter offers 3 mbps, 5 mbps and 10 mbps levels of HSI service.

Charter Communications Climbs on Positive Citigroup Note

NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of Charter Communications Inc., the nation's fourth-largest cable company, rose Friday after a Citigroup analyst said he expects the company to perform well ahead.
Shares added 12 cents, or 3.9 percent, to $3.21 in afternoon trading on the Nasdaq. The stock has traded between 87 cents to $3.43 in the past 52 weeks.

Analyst Jason Bazinet in a client note lifted his target price to $4.35 from $3.25 and reiterated a "Buy" rating, citing improving fundamentals based on voice deployment sales, combined with adequate funding through 2008. In addition, operational and financial improvement could drive favorable debt refinancing ahead, he noted.

"Our bullish stance stems from our belief that rural cable will outperform urban cable due to lower telco fiber risk and faster growth from voice deployments," wrote Bazinet, noting that competitors are likely to focus on populated areas, while Charter operates in primarily rural areas.
