Negative News article hit the press today.

Lewisville-based Uranium Resources Inc. came to the area in the 1980s, sucking uranium-filled water from deep underground for processing. But the activity was suspended on and off through the late 1990s, when prices plummeted from more than $30 a pound to about $7. Claiming financial problems, the company failed to clean up the area or restore the water below.

"The promise was they would take all the uranium and leave the water clean," said Teo Saenz, president of STOP (South Texas Opposes Pollution). "They didn't."

Demand for uranium has increased recently, and URI has proposed two new mines. Global stockpiles of uranium are dwindling and several countries, including China and India, have plans to build nuclear power plants.

STOP members, who number about a dozen, say an engineer mapped the underground for them in the mid-1990s and accurately predicted that contamination from the mine field would migrate first to the Garcia wells. They now fear poisoned water will seep toward the water supply of nearby Kingsville, population 26,000.

RICARDO, Texas Jul 31, 2005 — The extended Garcia family has lived for five generations in a cluster of frame and trailer homes here that now has a sad distinction: Their water is contaminated with uranium at levels so high the U.S. Environmental Protection Administration has told them to stop drinking it and see their doctors.

State environmental officials and the company that has been mining uranium in the area for much of the last 20 years say the contamination is natural seepage from a vein of the radioactive material that runs near their well.

But the Garcias and other Kleberg County residents don't accept that explanation and are fighting to prevent further mining.

Another Golden Cross looming.......
I'm not sure the company management cares much about stockholders from a news release standpoint. They seem quite lazy in this aspect ;D

"Much More Powerful Enduring Bull Market Golden Cross" with the "50 /200 DMA" ..............

When a shorter moving average like the 50-day crosses above a longer one like the 200-day it is a major buy signal. In Japan this signal is called a "Golden Cross." The reverse is called a "Dead Cross" and it is a sell signal. Using moving average crossovers takes the subjective part of chart reading, as this is just pure math in determining the trend. When the 50-day crosses above the 200-day it's a signal to go long. The Japanese may buy up all the company stock .........

Uranium Resources, Inc. Announces Commencement of Development at South Texas Projects
Monday December 5, 10:08 am ET

LEWISVILLE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 5, 2005--Uranium Resources, Inc. (OTCBB:URIX - News) announced today that the Texas State Office of Administrative Hearings has issued its Proposal for Decision recommending that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality ("TCEQ") approve the Company's Production Area Authorization 3 at the Kingsville Dome project, subject to certain conditions that the Company believes it can satisfy. The Company anticipates that the TCEQ should act on this recommendation in January 2006.

The Company started wellfield development at previously approved production areas at Kingsville Dome in November 2005 and expects that production should commence in the second quarter of 2006. Activities have also begun to upgrade the Kingsville processing facility to allow the processing of this additional Kingsville Dome production and production from PAA 3, which the Company projects will start later in 2006.

Paul K. Willmott, President and Chairman, stated, "We have produced over 3.5 million pounds of uranium from Kingsville Dome in the past and eagerly welcome our ability to once again access the potential of this resource base. We expect to have the ability to produce from both our Vasquez and our Kingsville Dome sites concurrently. This should strengthen our position as a stable and reliable supplier of uranium in a market that continues to show firming prices in both the short and long-term. We will continue to evaluate our uranium sales contract position and look to add value to the Company by enhancing the value of our contract portfolio."

The Company also announced that it has commenced exploration drilling on the recently acquired 750 acres near the Company's currently idle but fully licensed Rosita facility. The Company plans to upgrade and restart the Rosita facility to process any economic material found along with the recently identified mineralized uranium material on the Rosita property itself.

This press release contains "forward-looking statements." These include, without limitation, statements relating to future mining plans, production and other such matters. The words "expect," "anticipate," "estimate," or "plans" and similar expressions identify forward-looking statements. Such statements are based on certain assumptions and analyses made by the Company in light of its experience and its perception of historical trends, current conditions, expected future developments and other factors it believes are appropriate in the circumstances. The Company does not undertake to update, revise or correct any of the forward-looking information. Factors that could cause actual results to differ materially from the Company's expectations expressed in the forward-looking statements include, but are not limited to, the following: industry conditions; volatility of uranium prices; operational risks; potential liabilities, delays and associated costs imposed by government regulation (including environmental regulation); inability to raise the funds for the substantial capital expenditures required to fund operations; and risks related to exploration and developmental drilling. For a more complete explanation of these various factors, see "Cautionary Statements" included in the Company's latest Annual Report on Form 10-KSB/A filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Uranium Resources, Inc. is a Dallas area based uranium-mining company whose shares are quoted on the OTC Bulletin Board under the symbol URIX. The Company specializes in in-situ solution mining and holds mineralized uranium materials in South Texas and New Mexico.

Presume that it does take out the 200 day, and it appears the long-term down trend line, how positive of a signal would that be?  This market is supposed to go red hot due to supply constraints in the present and future.

;D URRE closed above the 200 day and appears to be in a new long term up trend.  No news just demand.

Uranium Resources, Inc. Announces Feasibility Study of New Mexico Assets
Friday November 10, 9:36 am ET
-- URI to consider augmenting in-situ mining capabilities with conventional mining
-- Company to evaluate uranium properties, mining assets and extensive database

LEWISVILLE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Uranium Resources, Inc. (OTCBB: URRE - News; "URI") announced today that it has launched an internal evaluation to determine the feasibility of developing a conventional mining and milling complex based on several of the Company's New Mexico properties that are less amenable to in-situ recovery mining methods.

From 1948 through 2001, nearly 350 million pounds of uranium were produced by conventional mining and milling methods in New Mexico. During the peak years from 1959 through 1981, conventional production ranged from 9 to 19 million pounds of uranium per year, averaging nearly 13 million pounds per year.

As for the future, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) stated in a June 2004 report that as of December 31, 2003, uranium reserves in New Mexico were estimated to be 341 million pounds U3O8 assuming forward costs of up to $50 per pound of U3O8. Given historic production rates and EIA's estimate of available uranium resources, URI believes a single conventional mill in New Mexico could produce between 5 to 10 million pounds of uranium per year, which includes production from Company-owned properties.

URI owns 183,000 acres of mineral holdings in New Mexico which includes mine sites at Crownpoint, Nose Rock, and Roca Honda. These mine sites were designed by previous owners to produce nearly 4 million pounds of uranium per year. All three projects were deferred in the early 1980s after uranium prices fell from $43 per pound of U3O8 to below $10 per pound by the end of that decade. On these sites are six completed mine shafts that are estimated to have a replacement cost of $25 to $50 million. With these shafts already in place, URI believes the cost of development should be lower. In addition, once all required permits are received, production on the sites with mine shafts already in place should begin considerably sooner than on comparable undeveloped sites.

The feasibility study will include the following:

The reopening and inspection of two 3,300 foot shafts at Nose Rock that were developed by a division of Phillips Petroleum in the late 1970s. This project was designed to produce approximately 2.5 million pounds of uranium per year, but was shutdown in 1981 before mining began.
The reopening and inspection of three shafts at Crown Point that were developed by a division of Westinghouse Electric Corporation to produce an estimated 1.2 million pounds of uranium per year. Production from this project was deferred in 1981 before mining began.
The reopening and inspection of the Kerr-McGee shaft on Roca Honda.
A thorough evaluation of the Company's extensive data base that includes over 16,000 logs, feasibility studies, mine development plans, and ore reserve analyses that were prepared during the 1970s and '80s by Homestake Mining, Mobil Oil, Phillips Petroleum, United Nuclear, and Westinghouse Electric Corporation. This evaluation will focus on the Company's 43,000 acres located in the prolific Ambrosia Lake District where there exists the greatest potential to discover new uranium resources.
A through examination of the Company's mineral holdings to determine which properties are more amenable to conventional development as opposed to in-situ recovery mining methods.
An analysis to determine the feasibility of building a conventional mill to process company mined ore, as well as the potential for toll milling.
This internal evaluation will be managed by Richard A. Van Horn, Senior Vice President - Operations. Mr. Van Horn has extensive experience in the conventional mining and milling of uranium on the Colorado Plateau with Union Carbide, including the management of the White Mesa Mill operating in Blanding, Utah.

Uranium Resources, Inc. Reports Third Quarter Results
Tuesday November 14, 8:09 pm ET
-- Redeployed assets from Vasquez property and recognized impairment
-- Additional drilling rigs and logging tools enables $3.5 million development program at South Texas properties

LEWISVILLE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Uranium Resources, Inc. (OTCBB: URRE - News; "URI"), a uranium exploration, development and mining company, announced today its financial results for the third quarter and nine-month period of 2006 which ended September 30, 2006. In the third quarter of 2006, URI produced 72,630 pounds of uranium compared with production in the third quarter of 2005 of 65,797 pounds. Production for July, August, and September 2006 was 28,000, 14,000, and 30,000 pounds of uranium, respectively. Total production for the first nine months of 2006 was 187,000 pounds.

Revenue in the 2006 third quarter was $2.8 million based on sales of 69,951 pounds of uranium at an average price of $39.54 per pound. This compares with revenue of $1.3 million based on sales of 74,340 pounds of uranium at an average price of $17.00 per pound in the third quarter of 2005. Higher prices received per pound in the 2006 third quarter more than offset the lower quantity of pounds sold.

Production costs for the third quarter of 2006 were $56.92 per pound compared with $23.57 per pound in the prior year's third quarter. The higher production costs were primarily due to higher capital and operating costs compared with the prior year and also due to the change in the estimated recovery factor of for the Vasquez project from 70% to 50%. Production costs in the third quarter 2006 include $4.23 per pound from inventory adjustments from a lower of cost or market adjustment at September 30, 2006, and exclude $8.91 per pound for a lower of cost or market adjustment made at June 30, 2006. Production costs in the third quarter of 2005 include $5.06 per pound resulting from a lower of cost or market adjustment at September 30, 2005. Production costs at the Kingsville Dome project were $35.16 per pound for the third quarter of 2006 and $33.12 per pound year-to-date in 2006.

Net loss for the third quarter of 2006 was $6.0 million, or $0.12 per diluted share, compared with net loss of $2.0 million, or $0.05 per diluted share, in the same period last year. The third quarter 2006 loss included an impairment provision for the Vasquez project of approximately $3.3 million. This impairment was necessitated as a result of the carrying value of the assets exceeding their fair value at September 30, 2006. The Company expects that the annual update by an outside engineer of the estimated recoverable reserves at Vasquez will result in a lowering of the Company's reserve estimate.

Our third quarter production consisted of 26,074 pounds from our Vasquez project and 46,556 from our Kingsville Dome project. Our Kingsville Dome project commenced production in the second quarter of 2006. Last year's third quarter production of 65,797 pounds was produced completely from the Vasquez project. As discussed, given the challenges at this property, its level of production has measurably declined and was below expectations.

Production and Plans

Texas Properties

The Vasquez project has provided significant technical challenges since its inception in 2004 due to the unique geochemical composition of its ore body and the degree of re-reduction found in the uranium deposited within the formation. When uranium has been "re-reduced" it has in nature been oxidized, reduced and then subjected to additional reductants which results in the uranium being less accepting of oxidation for extraction. These factors have contributed to our production costs at Vasquez rising from $20.32 per pound in 2005 to over $46.00 per pound in 2006.

The Company is evaluating its future production plans for Vasquez, which will be based on a number of factors including additional information from technical analyses and the continued strength of the uranium market.

Since the end of the quarter, URI redeployed most of its exploration and development equipment from Vasquez to the Kingsville Dome and Rosita projects. All three properties are located in South Texas. The Company has historically produced from the Kingsville Dome and Rosita projects using the in-situ recovery mining process. From 1988 through 1999, URI produced 6.1 million pounds from these properties.

At the Kingsville Dome project, the first of two new wellfields is scheduled to come online at the end of November. At Rosita, URI expects its first wellfield to begin production in early 2007.

In October, URI initiated a $3.5 million development program to drill up to 575,000 feet (approximately 1,440 holes) on properties surrounding the Kingsville Dome and Rosita projects. The objective of this program is to drill out the properties' uranium-bearing trends, which will identify and delineate the Texas reserves that may be available for the Company to mine over the next 3-5 years. This in turn will allow URI to develop these reserves in a manner and sequence that will generate the highest economic return. This program has been accelerated by the addition of 5 drill rigs since September, and the delivery of the first of two additional prompt fission neutron (PFN) logging tools in early November. The Company expects to complete this program by the end of the first quarter of 2007.

Dave Clark, President and COO of URI, commented, "We are taking what believe to be the measured steps necessary to develop our uranium assets profitability, so we can capitalize on the strength of the market."

New Mexico Properties

The Company announced on November 10, 2006, that it had launched an internal evaluation to determine the feasibility of developing a conventional mining and a milling complex based on several of the Company's New Mexico properties that are less amenable to in-situ recovery mining methods. The area has historically been the most prolific uranium production area in the United States and the Company has more than 183,000 acres of mineral holdings in the region, excluding its Churchrock and Crownpoint properties. In addition, there are a number of mine shafts in place on some of the Company's properties, which are expected to reduce cost and time for development once all permits are received.

URI is currently awaiting a ruling by the Environmental Protection Agency for determination of the Indian Country Status of Section 8 at its Churchrock property in New Mexico for which it has a Nuclear Regulatory Commission license. It is anticipated that, whatever the ruling, either side will appeal, therefore requiring further time before the permitting process is complete. The permit process must be complete before any exploration and development activities can begin on the property.

URI has entered into a letter of intent with Itochu Corporation for the development of Section 8 and 17 at the Churchrock property. It anticipates a final joint venture agreement before the end of 2006.

Nine-Month Review

In the first nine months of 2006, URI produced 187,412 pounds of uranium. Of this production, 117,395 pounds were from its Vasquez project and 70,017 were from its Kingsville Dome project, which commenced production in the second quarter of 2006. Production in the first nine months of 2005 was 239,738, all of which was produced from the Vasquez project.

In the first nine months of 2006, URI sold 199,921 pounds compared with sales of 219,000 pounds in the same period of 2005. For the 2006 nine-month period, URI had revenue of $5.7 million ($28.41 per pound) compared with $4.0 million ($18.40 per pound) in the same period last year. The increase in the sales revenue per pound in 2006 resulted from new contracts entered into with the Company's two customers in March 2006. Revenue in 2005 included $253,000 from the renegotiation of the contracted price for sales that were made in 2004.

Production costs for the nine-month periods of 2006 and 2005 were $42.46 and $15.96, respectively. This year's production costs include the same impacts and adjustments as noted previously for the third quarter.

For the nine months ended September 30, 2006 and 2005, we had net earnings of $24.1 million and a net loss of $14.5 million, respectively. The earnings in 2006 included a non-cash gain on derivatives of $34.8 million and a non-cash impairment provision for the Vasquez project of $3.3 million. The loss in 2005 included a non-cash loss on derivatives of $12.1 million.

Liquidity

From April to September 2006, URI's cash burn rate averaged $1.5 to $1.6 million per month. Cash balance at September 30, 2006 was $26.5 million. The Company anticipates that its operating and capital requirements for the remainder of 2006 and 2007 will be met through existing cash and cash generated from operations.

Mr. Clark concluded, "We are an asset rich company with an excellent opportunity to capitalize on these assets. We're focused on turning around our Texas operations, pursuing final permitting for our NRC licensed Churchrock property in New Mexico and on completing the necessary feasibility studies, rights, licenses and permits on the 183,000 acres of other mineral rights we own in New Mexico."

Teleconference and Webcast

The Company is hosting a teleconference and webcast at 10:30 a.m. ET. Wednesday, November 15, 2006. I couldn't stand it. I'm out 5.93  29%.   I'll wait for a larger pullback.  Somewhere between 4.80 and 5.20 would seems reasonable.  Doubt it will break below 5.50 honestly.  I'll be back.   Good luck all. Peace.  Buying OPBL.

Uranium Resources, Inc. Provides Update on New Mexico Assets
Friday February 23, 8:15 am ET

LEWISVILLE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Uranium Resources, Inc. (OTCBB: URRE - News)
Roca Honda historic estimate of mineralized uranium material increased to 15.3 million pounds U3O8 from 5.0 million.
Pre-feasibility study for conventional mining & milling being completed
Uranium Resources, Inc. (OTCBB: URRE - News; "URI") announced today that it has increased its historic internal estimate of mineralized uranium material for sections 13, 15, and 17 at the Roca Honda Project (Township 13N, Range 8W) from 5 to 15 million pounds U3O8 as a result of the previously announced re-evaluation of the Company's extensive New Mexico database. URI also owns the mineral rights to several other sections at Roca Honda, but does not own the data on these properties. Further evaluation of those sections could lead to additional increases.

The Company's historic estimates are based on 629 drill holes logs and were calculated by Kerr-McGee using the circle tangent method. The current estimate totals 15.34 million pounds of U3O8 contained in 3.9 million tons of ore with an average grade of 0.198%. A significant quantity of the mineralization is high grade primary ore. Mineralization occurs as uranium-humate cemented sandstones in elongated deposit formations that range in width from 50 to 200 feet wide, are from 200 to over 1000 feet in length, and range from 1 to 20 feet thick.

URI acquired the Roca Honda deposit along with surface agreements from the Santa Fe Railroad Company in 1998. The Company does not believe these properties are Indian lands. Roca Honda is adjacent to the Mount Taylor Mine owned by Rio Grande Resources, a subsidiary of General Atomics.

Because of the ores shapes, locations and depth, and the significant faults and fractures in the area, the Roca Honda deposit is better suited to conventional mining than in-situ recovery methods. There is a pre-existing 14-foot shaft on Section 17 that was sunk by Kerr-McGee in 1979-80 to a depth of 1,474 feet. Due to declining uranium prices at the time, the shaft was never opened to the ore and is now plugged at the surface.

URI expects to complete by mid-March an internal pre-feasibility study to evaluate the cost of conventionally mining and milling the uranium at Roca Honda, as well as the Company's West Largo and Nose Rock uranium deposits. As part of this process the Company's historic estimates of mineralized uranium materials at both West Largo and Nose Rock are being reviewed. The study will evaluate all three properties as conventional underground mining targets and rank them based on our estimates of projected cost. In addition to the Roca Honda shaft referenced above, the Nose Rock property has an 18 foot production shaft and a 14 foot ventilation shaft completed to a depth of 3,300 feet. It is assumed mined ore will be milled at a large regional mill that will service several area producers.

Dave Clark, President and Chief Operating Officer of URI, commented, "The significant increase in the size of the Roca Honda deposit now gives the company a sufficient base on which to begin development of its New Mexico conventional mining and milling properties. We are now working on a course of action to aggressively develop these assets."

In addition, URI expects to complete its review of the Company's extensive geologic and mining database by the end of June. This database includes more than 16,000 drill logs, calculations of mineralized uranium material and mine development plans that were developed by Phillips Petroleum, Westinghouse, Kerr-McGee, Homestake Mining, Mobil Oil and United Nuclear.

Mr. Clark added, "The ongoing review of our database to locate and quantify uranium deposits on our 183,000 acre land position has already led to the significant increase in mineralized material at Roca Honda. We expect additional increases to be made in Company owned holdings in coming months. We are particularly interested in identifying smaller ore deposits on checkerboard land throughout the Ambrosia Lake district that URI obtained as part of the Santa Fe Railroad Company land acquisition. We have already identified several smaller deposits of up to several million pounds each that may have been too small to develop as underground mines, but now appear amenable to lower cost ISR mining. Put together, these deposits could lead to the development of a major new ISR project in the Ambrosia Lake District."

Symmetrical Triangle (Continuation) Pattern

The symmetrical triangle, which can also be referred to as a coil, usually forms during a trend as a continuation pattern. The pattern contains at least two lower highs and two higher lows. When these points are connected, the lines converge as they are extended and the symmetrical triangle takes shape. You could also think of it as a contracting wedge, wide at the beginning and narrowing over time.

While there are instances when symmetrical triangles mark important trend reversals, they more often mark a continuation of the current trend. Regardless of the nature of the pattern, continuation or reversal, the direction of the next major move can only be determined after a valid breakout.

Edwards and Magee suggest that roughly 75% of symmetrical triangles are continuation patterns and the rest mark reversals. The reversal patterns can be especially difficult to analyze and often have false breakouts. Even so, we should not anticipate the direction of the breakout, but rather wait for it to happen. Further analysis should be applied to the breakout by looking for gaps, accelerated price movements, and volume for confirmation. Confirmation is especially important for upside breakouts.

Prices sometimes return to the breakout point of apex on a reaction move before resuming in the direction of the breakout. This return can offer a second chance to participate with a better reward to risk ratio. Potential reward price targets found by measurement and parallel trend line extension are only meant to act as rough guidelines. Technical analysis is dynamic and ongoing assessment is required. In the first example above, SUNW may have fulfilled its target (42) in a few months, but the stock gave no sign of slowing down and advanced above 100 in the following months.

Uranium Resources, Inc. Reports Fourth Quarter and Year End 2006 Results
Monday March 19, 8:30 am ET
-- 2006 Revenue Increased to $8.6 Million from $4.9 Million on Higher Prices and Increased Sales
-- Company Adopts Strategic Plan with Goal of 10 Million Pounds Per Year Production by 2014

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Uranium Resources, Inc. (OTCBB: URRE - News; "URI"), a uranium exploration, development and mining company, announced today its financial results for the fourth quarter and the year ended December 31, 2006.

Fourth Quarter Review

Revenue for the fourth quarter of 2006 grew almost 350% to $2.9 million from $835,000 in the 2005 fourth quarter. Higher revenue was driven by improved prices and approximately 11,000 pounds in higher sales of uranium versus the same quarter a year ago. URI sold 63,000 pounds of uranium at an average price of $46.02 per pound U3O8 in the fourth quarter of 2006 compared with 52,000 pounds U3O8 at an average price of $16.06 per pound in 2005. Net loss for the fourth quarter of 2006 was $2.5 million, or $0.05 per diluted share, compared with net loss of $20.6 million, or $0.50 per diluted share, in the same period last year. The fourth quarter 2005 loss included an $18.9 million non-cash loss on derivatives.

URI produced 72,000 pounds U3O8 during the fourth quarter of 2006 up slightly from the 70,000 pounds in the same quarter of 2005. Production costs for the quarter were $46.07 per pound compared with $34.21 per pound in the fourth quarter of 2005. The higher production costs were primarily due to higher capital and operating costs compared with the prior year and as well as a change in the estimated recovery factor for the Vasquez project from 70% to 50%.

URI's fourth quarter 2006 production consisted of 48,000 pounds U3O8 from its Vasquez project and 24,000 pounds from its Kingsville Dome project.

2006 Review

During 2006, URI produced 259,000 pounds U3O8 down from the 310,000 pounds produced in 2005. In 2006, the Vasquez project produced 165,000 pounds, while 94,000 pounds came from the Company's Kingsville Dome project, which commenced production in the second quarter of 2006. Production in 2005 was 310,000 pounds, all of which was produced from the Vasquez project.

URI sold 263,000 pounds in 2006 compared with sales of 271,000 pounds in 2005. For the year, URI had revenue of $8.6 million ($32.63 per pound) compared with $4.9 million ($17.95 per pound) last year. The increase in revenue per pound in 2006 resulted from new contracts entered into with the Company's two customers in March 2006. Revenue in 2005 included $253,000 from the renegotiation of the contract price for sales that were made in 2004.

Annual production costs for 2006 and 2005 were $47.46 and $20.19 per pound, respectively. Our average cost of sales for pounds sold was $43.36 per pound for 2006 compared to $20.32 per pound for 2005. The cost of pounds sold includes operating expenses, depreciation, and depletion and for 2006 includes a cumulative $1.6 million related to lower of cost or market inventory adjustments. The cost of goods sold for 2006 excludes $761,000 ($17.74 per pound) from a lower of cost or market adjustment made in December 2005 for 42,900 pounds in inventory at that date that were sold in the first quarter of 2006.

For the twelve months ended December 31, 2006 and 2005, we had net earnings of $21.5 million and a net loss of $35.1 million, respectively. On a diluted per share basis, earnings (loss) were $0.42 and $(0.96) for 2006 and 2005, respectively. Included in 2006 results was a non-cash gain on derivatives of $34.8 million somewhat offset by a non-cash impairment provision for the Vasquez project of $3.3 million. The loss in 2005 included a non-cash loss on derivatives of $31.0 million.

Liquidity

From April to December 2006, URI's cash burn rate averaged approximately $1.8 million per month. Cash balance at December 31, 2006 was $20.2 million. The Company anticipates that its operating and capital requirements for 2007 will be met through existing cash and cash generated from operations.

2007 Production and Project Update

Total production from Kingsville Dome and Vasquez in January and February was 33,400 and 29,200 pounds U3O8, respectively. March production through the 15th of the month was 20,700 pounds U3O8. Production for the first quarter of 2007 is estimated to be in the range of 98,000 to 108,000 pounds U3O8. For the quarter, Kingsville production is estimated to be in the range of 60,000 to 65,000 pounds U3O8, while Vasquez is expected to produce between 38,000 and 43,000 pounds.

Production from Wellfield 13 at Kingsville Dome, which was brought online at the end of January, has been meeting company expectations and should produce between 44,000 to 49,000 pounds U3O8 for the quarter. Wellfield 14 is scheduled to come online in April, while Wellfield 15 should startup early in the third quarter. Vasquez is currently producing at a rate around 350 pounds per day.

URI produced a detailed feasibility study for the development of its Church Rock ISR project as part of a joint venture it entered into in December 2006 with Itochu, a global Fortune 100 company. As part of the joint venture, Itochu has the opportunity to review the study to determine its interest in proceeding with the development project. Itochu has indicated that it will need more time beyond the April 2, 2007 preliminary investment decision date in order to more fully evaluate the opportunity. Following the preliminary investment decision, Itochu will make a final investment decision at a later date.

Future Strategy

The Company has recently adopted a strategic plan with the goal of URI becoming a 10 million pound producer of uranium by 2014 using both in-situ recovery ("ISR") and conventional mining and milling methods. As part of its strategy, the Company intends to build its uranium base to between 200 and 300 million pounds through exploration of its own properties and by acquisition.

Dave Clark, President of Uranium Resources said, "In developing these goals, we recognized the tremendous potential for URI to become a leading uranium exploration, development and mining company. At the forefront of our effort is the evaluation of the Company's extensive database, a process that is expected to continue to yield positive results beyond the recently announced increases in the quantity of mineralized material at both the Roca Honda and West Largo projects."

In Texas, the Company intends to maximize production from its existing properties at Kingsville Dome and Rosita. The Company will add additional properties to feed these operations, with the ultimate goal being to achieve 1 to 2 million pounds of production annually within the next several years. To accomplish this objective, the Company plans to complete its drill out program by the end of the second quarter of 2007, mine all identified uranium expeditiously, and acquire or lease new properties as necessary.

In New Mexico, the Company is working to obtain the final permit for the joint venture Church Rock ISR project while also looking to develop its conventional assets beginning with Roca Honda. The ongoing evaluation of the Company's extensive database should be completed by the end of June, while an internal pre-feasibility study on conventional mining and milling of Company properties should be finished by the end of March.

Mr. Clark concluded, "I believe 2006 was a pivotal year for URI. We renegotiated our supply contracts on far more favorable terms, raised $50 million in equity which will allows us to move forward with our strategic plans for Texas and New Mexico, and we commenced a pre-feasibility study on conventional mining of our New Mexico uranium assets. It is now time for us to execute on our strategic plan to make URI a leading uranium producer."

Uranium Resources, Inc. Announces Revenue Up Over 300% in First Quarter 2007
Thursday May 10, 5:58 pm ET
-- Revenue increased 328% to $4.6 million on higher prices and increased sales
-- Production nearly doubles to 109,000 pounds U(3)O(8)
-- New Mexico property value increases with royalty interest estimated in excess of $75 million

LEWISVILLE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Uranium Resources, Inc. (NASDAQ: URRE - News; "URI"), a uranium exploration, development and mining company, announced today its financial results for the first quarter of 2007.

Revenue for the first quarter of 2007 increased 328% to $4.6 million from $1.1 million in the 2006 first quarter. During the quarter, URI sold 79,700 pounds of uranium at an average price of $57.41 per pound U3O8 compared with 65,600 pounds U3O8 at an average price of $16.29 per pound in the first quarter of 2006. Net loss for the first quarter of 2007 was $1.4 million, or $0.03 per diluted share, compared with a net income of $32.2 million, or $0.73 per diluted share, for the same period in 2006. Exclusive of the effects of a $34.3 million non-cash gain on derivatives in the first quarter of 2006, the $1.4 million loss, or $0.03 per diluted share, in the first quarter of 2007 compares with a loss of $2.1 million, or $0.05 per diluted share, in 2006.

The average cost of pounds sold in the first quarter of 2007 was $41.09 compared with $32.62 in 2006. Of the 79,700 pounds sold in the first quarter of 2007, 39,000 pounds were higher cost 2006 year-end inventory, which was at a cost of $41.11. The balance was from the older PAA1 and PAA2 wellfields at Kingsville Dome. Partially reflecting the lower costs of the new PAA3 wellfield at Kingsville Dome, the finished uranium inventory of 68,400 pounds as of March 31, 2007 was held at an average cost of $30.49 per pound.

URI produced 109,000 pounds U3O8 during the first three months of 2007, a 96.8 % increase from the 55,400 pounds produced in the first quarter of 2006. Not included in the quarter's production was U3O8 extracted but not yet processed and dried in the quarter which increased in-process inventory. Production costs for the quarter were $34.44 per pound compared with $38.55 per pound in the same quarter of 2006. Production for the first quarter of 2007 was comprised of 44,100 pounds from Vasquez and 64,900 pounds from Kingsville. The Kingsville Dome production included 16,300 pounds of high cost production from the old PAA1 and PAA2 wellfields, and 48,600 pounds from PAA3, which commenced production in late February. Production in 2006 was all attributable to the Vasquez project.

URI's cash burn rate for the first quarter of 2007 averaged approximately $1.2 million per month. The cash balance at March 31, 2007 was $16.6 million. Given URI's current market-related sales prices and projected production costs in the range of $25 to $30 per pound, the Company expects to realize margins after royalties in the range of $40 per pound in coming months. As a result, the Company now has the ability to build cash moving forward.

Texas Operations Update

During the first quarter, the Company began the process of completing the updating and retrofitting of its Rosita plant and has invested $1.1 million in the project. Following completion of the retrofitting, including the installation of a new dryer, Rosita production is expected to begin by the end of the year.

The on-going drillout program to date has delineated just over 1 million pounds of in-place reserves at Kingsville Dome and 600,000 pounds U3O8 at Rosita. Additional reserves can be expected as the drillout program continues. Current and expected reserves should be sufficient to produce at least 400,000 to 500,000 pounds per year through 2009.

In addition, URI has begun to acquire prime exploration targets in South Texas. Thus far the Company has picked up 5,500 acres on two exploration properties, including the mineral rights on land close to the Rosita project. Higher production levels over the next three years and beyond will depend on the success of our ongoing exploration program.

During the first quarter of 2007, the Company began to experience operational problems with its yellowcake dryer. As a result of the lower operating efficiency, production for April, the first month of the second quarter, was 41,800 pounds U3O8 dried product, which did not include an in-process inventory of 28,400 pounds waiting to be further processed and dried. A replacement dryer is scheduled to begin operation at the end of May. Once started, the new dryer should allow the in-process inventory to be eluted and dried within the first month of operation.

Wellfield 14 is scheduled to be turned on following the completion of the new dryer installation. Wellfield 15 is scheduled to come on line late in the third quarter.

Dave Clark, President of Uranium Resources, said, "We continue to meet our goals in Texas to increase production while lowering costs. Our efforts have put us in a strong financial position where we can now concentrate on how to invest the cash we can now generate. We have already begun to invest in our future by aggressively acquiring new exploration targets in Texas."

New Mexico Value Increases with Royalty

As part of the land acquisition from the Santa Fe Railroad Company in 1997, the Company acquired certain royalty interests previously held by Santa Fe. Included in this acquisition was a royalty interest on a partial section of the Mount Taylor project owned by Rio Grande Resources, a division of General Atomics.

During URI's ongoing evaluation of its extensive database, the Company reviewed a report prepared by an independent geologic consultant in March 1979 that indicated an increase in the property's uranium resources. URI owns a 16.5 percent royalty to be applied to the value of mined ore, which is determined using a formula that is based on the average ore grade and market price. Based on the information in the independent geologic report, a market price of $120 per pound and a projected ore grade of 0.45% U3O8, the Company projects the royalty could have a value to the Company in excess of $75 million.

During the quarter, the Company continued to increase its staff in New Mexico to aid in the evaluation of its extensive database. Its immediate focus is centered on finding mineable reserves in the Ambrosia Lake district.

URI and Itochu have agreed to extend the decision date for the preliminary investment decision for the Churchrock joint venture from May 2 until August 1. The extension is mutually beneficial to both companies.

Mr. Clark concluded, "In New Mexico, the mining of our database continues to provide many positive surprises, like the Santa Fe royalty. I have no doubt we will add significantly to our reserves as we continue this evaluation. We also continue to work with our partner Itochu, who has proven to be valuable in helping us advance our interests in New Mexico. We believe we are well on the way to reach our goal to produce 10 million pounds per year by 2014 while increasing our reserve base up to 200 million to 300 million pounds U(3)O(8)."

Teleconference and Webcast

The Company is hosting a teleconference and webcast at 10:00 a.m. EDT, Friday, May 11, 2007. Director Lee Erdahl to Serve as Corporate Financial Advisor

LEWISVILLE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Uranium Resources, Inc. (NASDAQ: URRE - News; "URI"), a uranium exploration, development and mining company, announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Marvin K. Kaiser to the Board as an independent Director and to serve in that capacity until the next election of Directors in 2008.

Mr. Kaiser retired from The Doe Run Company, a privately held natural resources company and the largest integrated lead producer in the Western Hemisphere, where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. Prior to his thirteen years with Doe Run, Mr. Kaiser held the positions of Chief Financial Officer for Amax Gold, Olympic Mining Corporation and Ranchers Exploration at various times over a 24-year period. He is a Certified Public Accountant and brings to the Board of Directors vast experience in all aspects of corporate finance and management.

Concurrently with this appointment to the Board, current director Leland O. ("Lee") Erdahl has agreed to serve as a financial advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors. As a result of his augmented role for the Company, Mr. Erdahl, loses his independent status and, therefore, will no longer be eligible to continue as Chairman of the Audit Committee. Mr. Kaiser will replace Mr. Erdahl as Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.

Paul Willmott, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Uranium Resources, commented, "Lee's financial background and extensive industry experience will be a tremendous asset to the Company as we pursue our growth strategies. He has been a director since 1994 and has been a strong contributor to the company's current success."

He added, "We are also pleased to add at the same time Marv's breadth of experience in finance and management in the natural resource industry to the Board of Directors. As we evaluate opportunities for growth, I believe his knowledge will prove valuable to our strategic direction and an excellent complement to our Board membership. We are rapidly growing and the industry is beginning to consolidate, so our changes today are intended to enable us to best capitalize on the industry dynamics"

Uranium Resources, Inc. to Acquire Mill Site and Uranium Properties holding 20 Million Pounds U3O8 from BHP Billiton
Friday October 12, 6:59 am ET
NRC-licensed site could reduce development lead time by four to five years
Opens the door to re-start conventional uranium mining in New Mexico

LEWISVILLE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Uranium Resources, Inc. (NASDAQ: URRE - News; "URI" or the "Company") announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement with BHP Billiton to acquire 100% of the ownership of Rio Algom Mining LLC ("Rio Algom"). Under the agreement, URI will pay BHP Billiton $110 million in cash and assume certain retirement benefits and reclamation liabilities of which up to $35 million will be pre-funded at closing. URI will also pay BHP Billiton $16.5 million contingent upon the receipt of a license from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to construct and operate a conventional uranium mill. The transaction is expected to close on or before June 1, 2008 and is subject to customary closing conditions, financing and regulatory approvals.

The purchase includes a strategically important NRC-licensed mill site with associated water rights in the historic Ambrosia Lake District of New Mexico. Located 20 miles north of Grants, NM, the site could cut in half the time needed to build a new mill in the district versus building a mill on a green field site. In addition, URI will acquire 14,000 acres of surface fee land and mineral interests in Ambrosia Lake that contain 20 million pounds of mineralized uranium materials based upon a report by Behre Dolbear, an international mineral industry consultant to the Company. The Company will also acquire a licensed mill site south of Moab, Utah.

"The purchase of Rio Algom provides one of the key assets we need to achieve our strategic goal to produce 10 million pounds of U3O8 per year by 2014," commented Dave Clark, URI's President and Chief Executive Officer. "We believe building a new mill on a NRC licensed site with associated water rights could allow production to begin within four to five years."

Mining at Ambrosia Lake began in the 1950s when Kerr-McGee constructed what was at the time the largest operating mill in the U.S. At its peak, the mill processed 7,000 tons of ore per day. The mill was dismantled in 2003.

After the acquisition, URI plans to construct a new environmentally-sound, state-of-the-art milling facility at the Ambrosia Lake site to process uranium ore that is mined from around the region. The planned mill is expected to employ over 200 people once in operation, and will have the capacity to process up to 8,000 tons of uranium ore per day. When commissioned, the mill will be capable of processing all of the remaining conventional ore in the Grants Mineral Belt, which could total 200 to 300 million pounds U3O8, including up to 70 million pounds of uranium from URI-owned projects. Over the next several months, URI plans to evaluate various opportunities for joint venture and/or toll milling arrangements with several companies who could benefit greatly from a local-operating mill.

"Every aspect of the new Ambrosia Lake mill will be planned and designed with the safety and well-being of the environment, the community and our future employees in mind," said Clark. "Not only will the mill have a tremendous positive impact on the local and regional economies, it will also be a significant benefit to other uranium mining companies who require a licensed conventional mill to advance their own projects toward production."

The acquisition positions URI at the forefront of New Mexico's uranium-mining resurgence. Upon completion of the acquisition, URI will own approximately 112 million pounds of mineralized uranium materials in New Mexico. And, upon receipt of the license amendment from the NRC, URI will possess the only two NRC licenses associated with uranium mining and milling in the state. In total, the transaction will increase the Company's New Mexico asset base by 22%.

"URI is proud to be paving the way for future uranium mining projects in New Mexico," added Clark. "We are committed to responsible development practices in advancing both our ISR and conventional projects, and we look forward to working together with local and state government leaders, community members and other key stakeholders in bringing the economic benefits of uranium mining back to New Mexico."

Uranium Resources, Inc. Reports $10.4 Million in Revenue.......

LEWISVILLE, Texas, Nov 09, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Uranium Resources, Inc. (URRE, Trade) ("URI"), a uranium exploration, development and mining company, announced today its financial results for the third quarter of 2007, which ended September 30, 2007.

Revenue for the third quarter of 2007 increased 275.6% to $10.4 million compared with $2.8 million during last year's third quarter. During the quarter, URI sold 127,800 pounds of uranium at an average sales price per pound of $81.25, compared with 70,000 pounds in last year's quarter at an average sales price per pound of $39.54. Sales were also up from the 114,400 pounds sold at an average price of $69.63 per pound in the trailing second quarter this year.

Net income for the third quarter of 2007 was $2.2 million, or $0.04 per diluted share, compared with a net loss of $6.0 million, or $0.12 per diluted share, for the same period in 2006. Last year's quarter included a $3.3 million charge for the impairment of uranium properties.

The average cost of pounds sold in the third quarter of 2007 was $26.80 compared with $29.44 in the trailing second quarter and $56.92 in the third quarter of 2006. Cost of sales includes operating expense and depreciation, depletion and amortization (DD&A), but excludes royalties and commissions. Finished uranium inventory was 65,800 pounds at September 30, 2007, held at an average cost of $30.60 per pound.

URI produced 103,800 pounds of uranium during the third quarter of 2007, a 43% increase over 72,600 pounds produced during last year's third quarter and a 23.6% sequential decline from 135,800 pounds produced during the second quarter this year. The production decline from the trailing quarter was due to diminishing production at the Company's South Texas wellfields as they near the end of their natural production cycle as well as an inability to bring on new wellfields due to weather related delays. The Company expects production from the next South Texas wellfield to begin in December. Production costs for the quarter were $28.41 per pound compared with $59.14 per pound in the same quarter of 2006. Production costs include operating expense and DD&A.

Production for the third quarter of 2007 was comprised of 5,800 pounds from Vasquez and 98,000 pounds from Kingsville Dome. Production in the third quarter of 2006 included 26,100 pounds from Vasquez and 46,500 pounds from Kingsville Dome.

The cash balance at September 30, 2007 was $13.9 million, down from the balance of $16.5 million at the end of June 2007. The reduction was largely attributed to the funding of increased financial surety requirements during the third quarter for the Company's South Texas facilities and resulted in a $2.5 million increase in restricted certificates of deposit during the quarter.

Dave Clark, President and Chief Executive Officer of Uranium Resources, noted, "We are pleased to have lowered our Texas production costs over the past year and should exceed our minimum production plan of 400,000 in 2007. However, we continue to be hindered by heavy rain in South Texas that has delayed the startup of new wellfields. Production for the year is now expected in the range of 410,000 to 430,000 pounds. Production in 2008 and 2009 is still expected to be in the range of 400,000 to 500,000 pounds per year."

Nine-Month Review

Revenue for the first nine months of 2007 was $22.9 million, a 304% increase from $5.7 million during the same period in 2006. URI sold 321,900 pounds of uranium, at an average selling price of $71.22, during the current nine-month period, compared with 199,900 pounds, at an average selling price of $28.41, during the comparable period of 2006.

In the first nine months of 2007, URI produced 348,600 pounds of uranium compared with 187,400 pounds of uranium in the first nine months of 2006. Of this production, 70,300 pounds were from Vasquez and 278,300 pounds were produced at Kingsville Dome. The 2006 production included 117,400 pounds from Vasquez and 70,000 pounds from Kingsville Dome, which began production in last year's second quarter. Production costs for the nine-month periods of 2007 and 2006 were $30.05 and $47.99, respectively.

Net income for the nine months ended September 30, 2007 was $1.9 million compared with $24.1 million in last year's nine-month period. Earnings in 2006 included a non-cash gain on derivatives of $34.8 million.

Outlook

Dave Clark concluded, "While we continue to generate cash from our Texas operations we are also making significant progress to advance toward production in New Mexico. The recently announced plan to acquire Rio Algom with its NRC-licensed mill site has opened the door not only for production from our New Mexico assets, but also for others who own uranium assets in the area. We have begun fruitful discussions with multiple parties who have all expressed a strong desire to participate in a regional mill. We are planning to proceed in a manner that is of greatest benefit to our shareholders.

The Rio Algom acquisition is a major step forward toward achieving our strategic goal of becoming a 10 million pound producer by 2014. The additional 20 million pounds of mineralized uranium material also supports our strategic goal to build our reserve base to 200 to 300 million pounds of uranium."

Teleconference and Webcast

The Company is hosting a teleconference and webcast at 11:00 a.m. ET. Friday, November 9, 2007. During the teleconference, Dave Clark, President and Chief Executive Officer, will review the financial and operating results for the period and discuss URI's corporate strategy and outlook. A question-and-answer session will follow.

The URI conference call can be accessed by calling (201) 689-8562 approximately 20 minutes prior to the call and asking for the Uranium Resources third quarter earnings conference call.

Sector Watch: Nuclear power stocks.......
Jun 11, 2008 6:20am EDT

The nuclear power industry may reap a multi-billion dollar windfall if new legislation passes that imposes regulatory limits on carbon dioxide emissions from power plants. Emissions-free nuclear power facilities would benefit, as would nuclear fuel suppliers Uranium Resources, Inc. (Nasdaq:URRE) and USEC, Inc. (NYSE:USU).

USEC Inc. supplies uranium fuel to commercial nuclear power plants worldwide. This company operates the only uranium enrichment facility in the United States and supplies fuel to more than half the U.S. market and one-quarter of the world market. USEC also performs contract work for the U.S. Department of Energy; it maintains two uranium processing plants, transports nuclear materials and provides nuclear fuel cycle consulting.

Demand for enriched uranium will likely rise if Congress votes to limit carbon dioxide emissions under a so-called "cap and trade" system. The intent of the program is to cut greenhouse gas emissions 65% below 1990 levels by 2050. As part of this program, the Environmental Protection Agency will create 125 billion purchasable emission allowances, enough for all 38 years of the program, which is scheduled to commence in 2012.

Nuclear facility operators will benefit in two ways. First, since nuclear plants do not emit carbon dioxide, these plants will not be required to purchase emission allowances, giving them a major cost advantage over coal-powered plants. Second, to recover emission-allowances costs, coal-fired utilities would be forced to jack up electricity rates. As a result, nuclear plants would enjoy higher prices for their electricity without higher costs. Finally, carbon emissions penalties would make the economics of developing a new nuclear plant more attractive.

At present, there are some 439 nuclear reactors operating worldwide. Another 33 are under construction and 94 new plants are scheduled to come online over the next five to 10 years. These plants currently consume some 79,000 tons of uranium each year, but each new gigawatt of capacity will require 195 tons of additional uranium production.

The majority of reactors served by USEC are refueled on an 18- to 24-month cycle, and most of the company's customers refueled in 2007. As a result, USEC anticipates lower 2008 sales and volume more heavily weighted toward the end of the year. The company expects 2009 sales volume to meet or exceed record 2007 levels. Revenues rose 4% to $1.9 billion in 2007 from $1.6 billion in the prior year and net income was $96.6 million, or $1.04 per share, in 2007, versus $106.2 million, or $1.22 per share, in 2006.

First-quarter 2008 revenues of $343.3 million were 26% lower than prior-year levels of $465 million. First-quarter 2008 net income fell to $4.4 million, or $0.04 per share, from $39.3 million, or $0.45 per share, one year earlier. For full-year 2008, USEC anticipates revenues approaching $1.3 billion and net income in a $25 million to $45 million range. Analysts forecast 2008 per-share earnings at $0.32 and 2009 per-share earnings at $0.93. Long-term growth is forecast at 20% annually. These shares appear modestly priced at an 11 times P/E multiple and a 7 times forward P/E multiple. My $9 price target for USEC suggests a 44% premium over Tuesday's closing price of $6.23. Shares have ranged between $3.15 and $22.57 over the last 52 weeks.

Uranium Resources mines uranium properties and has produced over 7 million pounds of uranium since 1997. While currently producing only from its Texas properties, Uranium Resources believes its future lies with its development-stage New Mexico properties, which are estimated to contain more than 100 million pounds of uranium. Uranium Resources is also acquiring new assets through joint ventures and partnerships.

In 2007, the company produced 416,700 pounds of uranium, up from 259,100 pounds in 2006. Sales prices averaged $71.61 per pound last year and $32.63 per pound in the prior year. Reflecting these production gains, the company's revenues tripled in 2007 to $31.1 million from $8.6 million in 2006. Although 2007 net income fell to $1.1 million, or $0.02 per share, from $21.5 million, or $0.42 per share, in the prior year, this was due to non-cash gains on derivatives totaling $31.5 million in 2006.

Uranium Resources benefits from a long-term outlook for rising uranium prices. Uranium supply is expected to fall short of demand by as much as 500 million pounds by 2016 and experts are forecasting $95 per pound uranium prices within a few years.

During the first quarter of 2008, Uranium Resources sold 81,000 pounds of uranium, up from 79,700 pounds in the first quarter one year ago. Average sales prices rose to $70.66 per pound from $57.41 last year. As a result, the company's revenues grew 25% year over year in the 2008 first quarter to $5.7 million, from $4.6 million. Production was lower, however, at 83,400 pounds this year versus 109,000 pounds last year due to delays in bringing new fields online. Start-up costs for new fields resulted in higher net losses at $1.8 million, or $0.04 per share, this year, as compared with $1.4 million, or $0.03 per share, one year ago.

The good news is that with two new fields coming online and production restarted at an existing site, second-quarter production will likely exceed 95,000 pounds and full-year 2008 production will be between 400,000 and 450,000 pounds. The company anticipates producing at this level through 2009 and completing an acquisition that will extend this production level through 2011.

Uranium Resources expects to begin producing from its New Mexico properties within three years, and predicts the mines will support long-term production and profit growth. Analysts expect Uranium Resources to produce 20% average annual growth over the next five years. My $6 price target is 84% above Tuesday's closing price of $3.26. Over the last 52 weeks, shares have ranged between $2.90 and $14.99.

As Uranium Prices Dip, Pro Investors Bet on a Nuclear-Fueled Rebound
Monday June 23, 9:41 am ET
By the tickerspy.com Staff

The energy markets have been a source of concern for the past decade. Recently, however, those fears have increased as new price targets for crude oil move past $150, some even placing it closer to $200. This has propelled the demand for proven energy alternatives, such as nuclear energy. Unlike other alternative energy options that remain cost inefficient as compared to traditional energy sources, nuclear energy has been a practical energy alternative in many parts of the world.

Despite this bull case for nuclear energy, over the past year, uranium prices have collapsed over -50%, falling from over $130 to under $60 following shutdowns (for a variety of unrelated reasons) at nuclear plants around the world. This dip in demand has taken uranium stocks down as well. However, analysts continue to tout the long-term prospects for nuclear power, which would ignite more robust prices for uranium as demand surges.

With only a handful of U.S.-listed stocks offering exposure to uranium, Pro investor exposure to the sector is limited. Among the firms with larger positions is Schroder Investment Management Group, a London-based asset management giant with $259.6 billion under management. Schroder reported a 5.7 million-share stake in uranium and gold miner Cameco (NYSE: CCJ - News). Schroder also counted a number of other global commodity names among its top holdings, including Petrobras (NYSE: PBR - News, PBR-A - News) and Vale (NYSE: RIO - News). A list of Schroder's top holdings is available at tickerspy.com.

Among Pro investors, Cameco was the most popular uranium company at the end of Q1 with 13 investment firms counting the stock among their top holdings. Cameco is also the most popular uranium stock among tickerspy members. Among other uranium firms, USEC (NYSE: USU - News), Fronteer Development Group (AMEX: FRG - News), Uranium Resources (Nasdaq: URRE - News), Uranerz Energy (AMEX: URZ - News), and Uranium Energy (AMEX: UEC - News) are all followed by tickerspy members.

Pro portfolio performance is based on institutions' top-15 holdings as disclosed in quarter-end filings with the SEC. Pro performance does not take into account additional holdings beyond the top 15 nor does it include positions that are not required to be disclosed by the SEC. Uranium Resources Takeover Looms as Stock Price Drops (Update1)

By Kelly Riddell

Sept. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Uranium Resources Inc. is sitting on as much as $7 billion worth of the radioactive mineral and may become a takeover target after the shares plunged 83 percent this year, along with the fuel's price.

The Lewisville, Texas-based company has proven uranium reserves in the state of about 800,000 pounds, plus an estimated 101.4 million pounds of the material in New Mexico, according to a regulatory filing. The deposits could power the world's 438 active nuclear-generating plants for a year.

David Dreman, 72, who oversees $13.7 billion as chairman of Jersey City, New Jersey-based Dreman Value Management LLC, bought 51,060 shares this year, boosting his stake to 4.5 percent. The company's biggest investor, Zesiger Capital Group LLC, also increased holdings, according to regulatory filings.

``Uranium Resources is one of the cheapest uranium stocks out there right now, given its assets,'' said Mark Roach, who runs Dreman's $1.8 billion DWS Dreman Small Cap Value Fund. An increase in nuclear power's appeal as a clean-energy source may raise the company's profile as an acquisition target, he said.

The shares, which reached a record closing price of $14.02 on Nov. 6, closed at $2.18 in Nasdaq Stock Market composite trading yesterday. They may be worth $20 each, based on past acquisitions of companies with similar reserves, said Peter Homans, a hedge-fund manager with Parkman LP in Boston. The fund owns the shares, he said.

Uranium Resources rose 44 cents, or 20 percent, to $2.62 at 9:32 a.m. after earlier climbing to $2.67 for the biggest intraday gain since Aug. 13.

`Meaningful Upside'

``From my perspective, the company has 100 million pounds of proven reserves, which is more than any other American company,'' Homans said. ``The contract price for uranium is somewhere around $70. Multiply that by 100 million and you have a present value of $7 billion. For a stock whose market cap is $100 million, there's meaningful upside.''

Calls and e-mails to Bobby Winters, a managing director at Zesiger in New York, weren't returned. The firm owned 14.2 percent of the shares as of June 30, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

Uranium Resources trades at half the price of Canadian competitors based on the value of its reserves, analyst Paul Stouse at Rice Voelker LLC of Covington, Louisiana, said in an interview.

Saskatoon, Canada-based Cameco Corp. might acquire the company to strengthen its position as the world's biggest uranium miner, Roach said.

Cameco doesn't comment on acquisition targets before investors are informed, spokesman Gord Struthers said.

``However, we are looking for ways to expand our production and have said we're in a growth mode,'' he said. ``It's a small industry; we've probably talked with every company out there.''

Uranium Resources produced 417,000 pounds of the mineral in 2007 and 196,900 through the first half of this year, the company said. By 2014, new and existing mines in Texas may yield as much as 2 million pounds annually, Chief Executive Officer David Clark, 53, said in a presentation June 4.

As much as 9 million pounds may be mined in New Mexico, Clark said.

Unexplored Land

The company also owns 183,000 acres in New Mexico, 70 percent unexplored, Clark said. As much as 588 million pounds of uranium may be found in the state, he said.

``We plan to become a 10-million-pound-a-year producer,'' Clark said in an interview. ``We have some of the largest reserves in the largest reserve area in the country, in the largest uranium-consuming country in the world.''

Uranium Resources has declined 80 percent since the end of June 2007 as the mineral's price slid by about half from a record $138 a pound. Selling by hedge funds and speculators, who had bet prices would rise with oil, accounted for the drop, said analyst Eric Webb of Roswell, Georgia-based Ux Consulting Co.

Mill Purchase

Dropping prices forced the company to abandon an acquisition of a mill in New Mexico after the deal became too expensive, Clark said. Scrapping the plan was a disappointment to some investors because it delayed production in New Mexico, Homans said.

The company won't meet a forecast of 400,000 pounds of uranium production this year because of aging properties and difficulties extracting the mineral from the Rosita mine in Texas, Clark said in a conference call with investors Aug. 11.

Uranium Resources sold stock at a discount in a private equity offering in May to raise money for exploration and well repair. The sale angered some investors as it diluted the value of their stakes and didn't help save the mill purchase, Homans said.

``The falling price of uranium has taken its toll,'' Clark said in an interview. ``We don't have the same level of interested investors as we had a year ago, but we have seen a rotation to people interested in the long-term fundamentals of the market and those fundamentals remain strong.''

Uranium Demand

Atomic reactors consume about 165 million pounds of uranium worldwide annually. Only 110 million pounds are produced each year, according to the World Nuclear Association, a London-based industry group. The remaining 55 million pounds come from gradually declining sources, including former weapons material. Those stores are forecast to run out by 2013.

The number of reactors may expand to 740 worldwide by 2030 as China and India build new plants and other countries increase their use of atomic energy, the association said.

Primary uranium supplies would have to triple by that date to meet predicted demand, the association said. New producers will be needed or current suppliers will have to add capacity through acquisitions, said Justin Reid, a mining analyst at Cormark Securities Inc. in Toronto.

Navajo Land

Uranium Resources has been unable to extract ore from a section of its 2,200-acre Church Rock property in New Mexico because of a dispute over the authority to issue a mining permit. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ruled last year that the Navajo Nation and not the state has jurisdiction, the company said in a statement.

It could begin producing 1 million pounds of uranium a year within the next 18 months if an appeal is successful, the company said. The case will continue if the court sides with the EPA.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit in Denver may rule in the next three to six months, Homans said.

``These are just bumps in the road,'' Roach said. ``The company is an asset play and management is doing all of the things it should to build shareholder value. Wait for uranium prices to recover. This will be a stock to own.''

The case is HRI, Inc., v. EPA, 07-9506, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit (Denver).

About Uranium Resources, Inc.

Uranium Resources Inc. explores for, develops and mines uranium. Since its incorporation in 1977, URI has produced over 8 million pounds of uranium by in-situ recovery (ISR) methods in the state of Texas where the Company currently has ISR mining projects. URI also has 183,000 acres of uranium mineral holdings and 101.4 million pounds of in-place mineralized uranium material in New Mexico and a NRC license to produce up to 1 million pounds of uranium per year. The Company acquired these properties over the past 20 years along with an extensive information database of historic mining logs and analysis. None of URI's properties are currently in production.

URI's strategy is to fully exploit its resource base in New Mexico and Texas, expand its asset base both within and outside of New Mexico and Texas, partner with larger mining companies that have undeveloped uranium or with junior mining companies that do not have the mining experience of URI, as well as provide restoration expertise to those that require the capability or lack the proficiency.

Uranium Resources, Inc. Provides Third Quarter 2010 Update...

Press Release Source: Uranium Resources, Inc. On Monday November 8, 2010, 9:00 am EST

LEWISVILLE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Uranium Resources, Inc. (NASDAQ:URRE - News) (URI), today provided an update on the Company's activities and announced its financial results for the third quarter of 2010, which ended September 30, 2010.

Recent Highlights

Letter of Intent Signed with Industry Leader. On November 4, 2010, URI announced the signing of a non-binding letter of intent with Cameco Resources, a subsidiary of Cameco (NYSE:CCJ - News), for a large ranch in South Texas. The agreement, which is contingent on URI successfully completing a lease agreement with the land owners, outlines a three-phase exploration program that would be funded by Cameco. There is an option for a production joint venture.

Liquidity Position Further Strengthened. On November 5, 2010, URI successfully completed the second draw down under its existing shelf registration statement when it closed its underwritten registered offering of 8,222,500 shares of common stock at a price of $1.16 per share, including the exercise by the underwriter of an over-allotment option, with net proceeds to URI of approximately $9.0 million. The Company plans to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes and to fund future potential acquisitions.

URI Settles Lease Agreement in Texas. On September 29, 2010, URI settled a two-year old lawsuit regarding a lease agreement in Texas; and as a result, eliminated costly legal fees while enabling discussions on additional properties with an estimated 250,000 pounds of in place mineralized uranium material.

Tenth Circuit Court Ruling Stands. No petitions were filed by the deadline to review the June 2010 United States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit en banc ruling that URI's Section 8 property in Churchrock, New Mexico is not Indian Country, thus affirming the authority of the State of New Mexico to issue the underground injection control permit, which was granted to URI in 1989.

Documents Submitted to NRC to Activate License. In October, URI submitted the necessary documents to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to activate its NRC License. URI is currently awaiting a determination from the Commission, and once active, the license may be utilized according to its present terms and conditions while pending renewal from the NRC.

Opponents petitioned the United States Supreme Court for review of the March 2010, 10th Circuit Court of Appeals' ruling that upheld the Company's NRC license to conduct in-situ recovery (ISR) uranium mining at the Churchrock/Crown Point project. The Supreme Court has not yet acted on the petition which does not impede the Company's progress.

Section 13 Drilling Completed. URI completed drilling on its Section 13 property in Ambrosia Lake in September. Core samples were shipped to an outside laboratory for the purpose of determining the suitability of the property for ISR mining. Results are expected to be completed in December 2010. If the property is not ISR amenable, then it will fall into the Company's conventional mining portfolio. URI has approximately 2.4 million pounds of in-place, mineralized uranium material in the Ambrosia Lake district.

NASDAQ Listing. URI regained compliance with the $1.00 per share minimum bid price requirement for continued listing on the NASDAQ Capital Market on October 7, 2010.

Don Ewigleben, President and CEO of Uranium Resources, noted, "The first nine months of 2010 have been a dynamic and rewarding time for the Company. We have made measurable progress on all fronts, as we have continued to deliver on our strategic initiatives. Last week, we completed the sale of 8,222,500 shares of common stock which provided net proceeds of approximately $9.0 million. As a result, we have further strengthened our balance sheet with the requisite capital to fund our growth strategy."

Mr. Ewigleben commented on recent milestones and developments, "Our recent letter of intent with Cameco Resources has significantly enhanced our Texas opportunities; and coupled with the settlement of the litigation regarding a lease agreement, we are optimally positioned to move forward on our Texas strategy. In New Mexico, we are also making substantial progress as we completed drilling activity on our Ambrosia Lake property and await results by the end of the year. Moreover, no petitions were filed by the deadline to review the June 2010, United States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit ruling that URI's New Mexico property is not Indian Country, thus affirming the authority of the State of New Mexico to issue the underground injection control permit."

Mr. Ewigleben concluded, "Our 30-plus years in uranium exploration, development, and mining operations, our experience as the only uranium company with approved restoration of an ISR mining operation in the United States and our significant asset base provides us a significant advantage in the uranium industry. Strategically, we continue to advance our properties toward production as we identify new projects and opportunities to grow our asset base, and, importantly, as we establish relationships and develop opportunities to continually grow value."

Liquidity Discussion

Cash at September 30, 2010 was $10.5 million compared with $11.4 million at the end of the trailing second quarter and $6.1 million at the end of 2009. The significant increase from the prior year end reflected the Company's common stock offering in June 2010 and the over-allotment option that was exercised in July. Subsequent to the end of the third quarter, URI completed another common stock offering, including an over-allotment, which resulted in net proceeds of $9.0 million. The cash balance as of the close of the offering on November 5, 2010 was $18.8 million.

As previously mentioned, on September 29, 2010, URI settled a Texas land lease dispute and agreed to pay the plaintiffs $1.38 million in cash, which includes amounts for prior royalties that the plaintiffs had previously rejected. The payment of this settlement is subject to execution of amendments to the leases and to documentation of other aspects of the settlement and dismissal of the suit and is expected to be made prior to year end 2010.

The Company used $1.9 million in cash in operating activities during the third quarter of 2010 compared with $1.3 million and $2.0 million used in operations in the second quarter and first quarter of 2010, respectively. For the nine-month period of 2010, URI used $5.2 million in operations compared with $3.3 million used in operations during the corresponding period of 2009.

Teleconference and Webcast

The Company is hosting a conference call and webcast today at 1:30 p.m. ET. During the call, Don Ewigleben, President and Chief Executive Officer, will review financial results for the quarter, provide an update on URI's strategies and outlook, and discuss the recent stock offering. A question-and-answer session will follow.

The URI conference call can be accessed by dialing (201) 689-8562 and entering conference ID number 359643. The live listen-only audio webcast can be monitored on the Company's Web site at www.uraniumresources.com, where it will be archived afterwards. To listen to the archived call, dial (858) 384-5517, and enter conference ID number 359643. The replay will be available from 4:30 p.m. ET the day of the teleconference until 11:59 p.m. ET Monday, November 15, 2010.

Uranium Resources routinely posts news and other information about the Company on its web site at www.uraniumresources.com.

The Bedford Report Provides Analyst Research on Uranium Resources, Inc. & Uranerz Energy Corporation

Press Release Source: The Bedford Report On Friday November 12, 2010, 11:42 am EST
NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - 11/12/10) - Uranium stocks have been surging as of late. Last month Uranium posted a 10% gain in just one week to around $52 per pound. According to the Global X Uranium ETF, which started trading earlier this month, uranium provides about 16% of the world's electricity. Uranium bulls believe that the radioactive element is a clean resource alternative for electric generation. One pound of uranium can generate as much energy as 20,000 pounds of coal, and leaves behind a fraction of the carbon footprint. The Bedford Report examines the emerging Uranium Industry and provides research reports on Uranium Resources, Inc. (NASDAQ:URRE - News) and Uranerz Energy Corporation (AMEX:URZ - News). Uranium is a primary component in the production of nuclear energy. A massive demand increase in nuclear energy is expected in future years with the Nuclear Energy Agency estimating that the number of nuclear reactors to generate electricity around the world is expected to grow by over 130 percent over the next 40 years. At the moment China operates 11 reactors, and has 28 under construction; in the U.S., 104 are in operation.

The Bedford Report releases regular market updates on the blossoming uranium industry so investors can stay ahead of the crowd and make the best investment decisions to maximize their returns. With uranium prices surging, investors have turned their attention to the uranium miners. Investors in uranium miners are banking on rising earnings, as gold prices rise, to provide value. Earlier this week, Uranium Resources posted a third quarter loss of 4 cents a share, compared with a loss of 4 cents a share in the year ago period. On November 4th, the company signed a deal with Cameco for an exploratory property in south Texas. Cameco and Uranium Resources have also agreed on an option for a joint venture on the property.

Korean Conflict Sends Investors to Safe Havens

the tickerspy.com Staff, On Tuesday November 23, 2010, 5:08 pm EST
Stocks tumbled on the day, after rising tensions on the Korean Peninsula led investors to look for safe havens. Meanwhile, the Fed lowered its expectations for this year and next, seeing a slow gradual economic recovery next year without much job growth, before a bit of a pick up in 2012.

The Uranium Stocks Index was the top performing tickerspy Index on the day, led by Uranium Resources (Nasdaq: URRE - News) with a 13% gain.

Stocks fell on the day, with the Dow trading -142 points lower to 11,036. The S&P gave back -17 points to close at 1,181, while the Nasdaq tumbled -37 points to 2,495. Oil slipped -49 cents to $81.25 a barrel, while gold rose $19.80 to $1,377.60 an ounce.

On the economic front, the Commerce Department revised its third-quarter GDP growth estimate to 2.5% -- up 50 basis points from the initial estimate, and up 80 basis points from the Q2 estimate. Economists had expected a revision to 2.4%. The release of the Federal Reserve minutes, meanwhile, showed that members were largely split on quantitative easing. The Fed also lowered its growth outlook for this year and next.

In M&A News, J. Crew Group (NYSE: JCG - News) reached an agreement to be acquired by TPG Capital and Leonard Green & Partners for approximately $2.9 billion, or $43.50 per share, in cash. The deal represents a 16% premium to Monday's closing value. The stock rose 16.8% on hopes another bid could emerge. Six Pros held J. Crew in their top-15 U.S.-listed equity positions at the end of Q3, and 91 tickerspy members hold the stock in their portfolios.

Shares of Analog Devices (NYSE: ADI - News) slipped by -0.7% after the chipmaker said its sales growth pace could slow in the first quarter of fiscal 2011. The company earned $225 million, or 73 cents per share, in the three months ended October 30th, compared to $106 million, or 36 cents per share, in the same period last year. Revenue rose 35% to $770 million. Analysts were looking for 70 cents in EPS on $756 million in sales. Looking ahead to the fiscal first quarter, Analog Devices expects EPS in the range of 63-67 cents on between $715-$740 million in revenue. Analysts were looking for 63 cents in EPS on $728 million in revenue in Q1.

Shares of Nuance Communications (Nasdaq: NUAN - News) gained 3.7% after the speech recognition software firm announced its fiscal fourth-quarter results. The firm posted net income of $2.1 million, or a penny per share, in the three months ended September 30, compared to $4.5 million, or 2 cents per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding certain items, adjusted EPS came to 33 cents per share, which was a penny better than analysts' expectations. Revenue grew by 18% to $309.8 million, which was below Wall Street's $319.9 million consensus. Eight Pros counted Nuance among their top-15 U.S.-listed equity positions at the end of Q3, and 274 tickerspy members hold the stock in their portfolios.

Tech giant Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ - News) saw its shares gain 2.2% after the company announced better-than-expected fiscal fourth-quarter earnings. The company's profit for the period ended October 31 totaled $2.54 billion, or $1.10 per share, compared to $2.41 billion, or 99 cents, per share last year. Excluding certain items, adjusted EPS came to $1.33, which was 6 cents better than the consensus estimate. Revenue rose by 8% to $33.28 billion, which was also ahead of the $32.75 billion expectations.

Uranium Continues to Soar  ;D

Really like this sector based on the ability of it's leaders to breakout,
Volume supports the breakouts as well.

Making it to the big time
It sounds bizarre, but the incident on the Korean peninsula might be serving as a catalyst for the uranium sector. It's estimated that Pyongyang has 2,000 centrifuges capable of producing fissile material for nuclear bombs spinning away in its laboratories. With hostilities flaring up again, perhaps the thought that the dictatorship is putting a premium on buying uranium is helping shares of Uranium Resources and Uranerz Energy. Iran is apparently emboldened, too, by North Korea's success in developing its nukes.

Uranium Resources certainly benefited from some positive developments recently, including settling a legal dispute over its New Mexico project, regaining listing compliance with the Nasdaq exchange, and Cameco boosting production forecasts. The U.S. Supreme Court also cleared the path for it to gain its Nuclear Regulatory Commission license. Shares have been riding high.

Uranium Stocks Soar, Analyst Bullish On Outlook
the tickerspy.com Staff, On Wednesday December 22, 2010, 1:00 pm EST
The Uranium Stocks Index is soaring today, up 1.6%, adding to a six-month performance that has seen the Index double, and there could be more upside to come for uranium stocks in 2011.

Supply and demand issues have helped drive spot uranium prices as high as $62.50 in recent weeks, but prices could surge more next year.

In an interview with The Energy Report, Rodman Renshaw analyst Alka Singh outlines her bullish case for uranium prices, saying "I don't think uranium price appreciation or uranium equities are done quite yet."

Sing also cites China's entry into the uranium market as a potential catalyst to drive prices higher. The country recently announced a deal with Cameco (NYSE: CCJ - News), the largest U.S.-listed uranium miner by market value. Singh said China could be home to more than 40 nuclear reactors over the next 10-15 years and that could drive uranium prices. Cameco shares are up 1%.

Singh notes that India is also starting to wade into the uranium market. "From the demand perspective, uranium demand will continue to drive the price of uranium in the future," Singh said.

Small-cap name Crosshair Expl & Mining (AMEX: CXZ - News) is leading the Index higher today with a surge of 29%. Uranerz Energy (AMEX: URZ - News) is up 5% while Ur-Energy Inc. (AMEX: URG - News) and Uranium Resources (NASDAQ: URRE - News) are both up 3%.

Investors can track the Uranium Stocks Index for performance trends and a suite of other metrics at tickerspy.com.

Get Nuclear With Uranium Stocks...
Get Nuclear With Some Uranium Stocks
Commodities can be violent, and uranium is no exception. After peaking at $137 per pound in the first half of 2007, uranium plummeted as low as $40 per pound a few months later, and the recovery from that boom-bust cycle has been slow. Prices have returned to the $60 level, and emerging market demand looks like a ticket higher. China, with 11 operating nuclear reactors and 20 more under construction, is stockpiling while prices are low, and investors can get in the game too with these stocks.

Uranium poised to go higher...
With the price of uranium going higher, the miners are all benefiting.
Slight pull back today after Fridays big day...MACD positive crossover.

Conference call for 2/14/11...
After investor annoyance for promised updates that were missed,
URRE management agreed to this conference call.
I expect partial responses to Joint venture, settling law suit and anticipated production since yellow cake is near $70.
