This stock should breakout, the ? is how soon.  With a strategic alliance with GM and to a lesser extent Toyota and now Honda plus a history of providing U.S govnt contracts, There should be news within a few weeks or possibly months.  With the aquisition and merger with Starcraft, Quantum can generate revenue while continuing their research into hydrogen.  This ads up to cash preservation while waiting for the big news.

Cheers for the heads up on the WW Cal, I really liked the pattern.  Bought in Yesterday afternoon (too late of course, just below 4.80), as it looked ready to pop once again, and boy did it ever.  currently sitting at 5.20 PM.  Looking to ride this to the WW target around 6.20-6.40.  Will see what comes of it.  For now, looking strong.

Superb breakout on both short and long term charts :o

QTWW has big news today:

Just received a contract from the Army
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/060215/law067.html?.v=41

Already up to 4.65 PM, I think this could be a ripper, and I sold out last week for a loss damn iit! :-[

Small chart consolidation looks good too.  Look for break above 4.88-4.90.
Maybe the WW target can be made yet.  May look to get my position back this AM....
Title: Re: QTWW
Post by: ScottishTrader on February 24, 2006, 07:41:37 AM
Well QTWW didn't quite get the pop I thought it would, but has been trending steadily up over the last several days.  I thought it was ready to break out on Wednesday as it pushed above 4.70 and toyed with us at 4.75, but nay.  However, the chart is looking quite interesting.  The longer term ascending support which has supported this entire move has come into play, volume has been down, and all that is required is a break of 4.75 to kickstart this one again.  MACD looks ready to kick positive too.  But I really don't want to see it pull back below that ascending support line. :P

We still have a WW target in the $6 range to get to now, don't we???
Title: QTWW
Post by: calven on February 25, 2006, 07:19:04 PM
Yes, the target is still the 1-4 line. Keep in mind that just because it is the target, that doesnt mean it will necessarily get there...it simply means if it does get that high the 1-4 line will be resistance. The WW pattern strongly suggests the 1-4 line will be met but does not "guarentee" it will reach that level.

Regardless, im still holding....

I'm new to chart patterns, so I was hoping one of you more experienced types could help me out.  When I look at the QTWW chart since 10/05, I THINK I see both a double-bottom (which appeared to lead a breakout) and a cup-and-handle (with the handle still forming about now). Is this accurate?

Thanks for the help.

Greetings, all. I'm new to chart patterns, so I was hoping one of you more experienced types could help me out.  When I look at the QTWW chart since 10/05, I THINK I see both a double-bottom (which appeared to lead a breakout) inside a cup-and-handle (with the handle still forming about now). Is this accurate, or even possible?

Thanks for the help.

Michael

You should be buying that hand over fist.  Yes that is a double bottom.  Provided the volume is there.

Title: Re: QTWW
Post by: ScottishTrader on February 28, 2006, 07:19:54 AM
It's possible, but I would like to see more of a rounded bottom to the cup and more volume on the break of the handle to definitely call it a cup and handle.  The "W" bottom was definitely a reversal, but the question is how far this leg will go.

QTWW is definitely pushing on resistance around 4.75, and if it gets a bit of volume to break through, I think it could head for 5.50 as the next target.  This is of course IF it gets the volume.  For now, though I think the retracement should be done with.

Well lets hope so anyway.

Post by: ScottishTrader on March 03, 2006, 06:16:16 AM
I have played QTWW twice just recently and lost out both times :-\

The chart does look compelling, both as a cup & handle and because of the nice W double bottom, but the recent action has got me scoobieed, so I am waiting till we get a clear breakout above 4.75 (including a close above this level) with volume before getting back in.  It has broken this level and pulled back a few times, and volume is still quite low, so I don't think it is ready quite just yet, but any day now....

If you look at the signals on my QTWW chart you can see it's breaking down fairly hard.
Personally I wouldn't touch it right now unless it was to short sell.  Dead

Well after a significant drop it appears to have made an interim bottomand is rallying back.  Today's buy signal generated on the cci, with a reversal on the slow stoch and the RSI bode well but it's not out of the woods yet although it closed very strong bouncing off the 200day ma.  Dead

Alister,

Another nice job.  Applause (I have to wait an hour to give it to you).  ;D

We discussed QTWW back in December as a "possible" Wolfe Wave.  It broke out of that pattern in late January.  Having had no experience with WWs, I was concerned that the Kumo (Cloud) might be too daunting on the first attempt to get through it.  Often, that's the case.

You can see that on its last attempt to get through the Kumo (Cloud) in early March, it got stopped at the top of the Kumo, and sold off into the end of March.

That selloff filled the 3.23-3.29 Wolfe Wave breakout gap when QTWW put in a low of 3.07 on a Bullish Doji Star candle in late March.

The top of the Kumo (Cloud) last Friday was 4.20.  QTWW closed above it, at 4.23.   That looks real good.

It would be kewl if QTWW ends up making the Wolfe Wave target at #6.   8)

"A single uptick or downtick in MACD Histogram weekly chart indicates a change in trend"

Be careful with that.  It might have worked on QTWW.  It won't on a lot of other stocks, especially ones that are in strong trends.

Good luck, Alister, and nice job!

Gamble this should have been posted to the Stock Picking Board.
This is not an OTCBB or Pink Sheet listed stock.
Also if you would have used the search you would have found that this stock has a thread running already, located here.....
http://www.3stocksonfire.org/trading/index.php?topic=1878.15

This is unnecessary creating a new thread on the same stock pick when it has a running thread.
otherwise know as "Board Clutter"
You should have posted you comments to that running thread, to give an update to it , and also it helps to keep the history of a pick on 1 thread, instead of scattered information on different threads that have been created on the same stock across the board.
Just  a heads up....use the search, before creating a thread.
Good luck with your trades.....

Posting the end of day chart here, to update this thread.
For the simple reason, Gamble created a new thread on this stock today
on the Penny Stock Picking Board. which is the wrong board to post it to to start with.
QTWW is not an OTCBB or Pink Sheet listed stock.

If Ramsburg sees this post would you please merge that thread from the Penny Board with this one here . Please merge Rams.....Thanks  ;)

Interesting to see how this chart played out.

The W-Bottom target of 4.36 - 4.47 MADE the week of February 3, 2006, but the Bullish Wolfe Wave got trumped by the 2003-2004 H&S Top, which put a target of 1.63 IN PLAY.

The recent low of 1.73 two weeks ago was Bullish Hammer that banged right off the orignial #1 - #3 trendline from the Wolfe Wave!

The following week, 1.73 was re-tested and held, exactly, for one of tokyopua's Tweezer Bottoms.  :D

This last week was a Bullish Engulfing pattern, and it also was a breakout of a "mini" W-Bottom, which put a target of 2.43 IN PLAY.  Volume was weak, though.

Math:

2.08 - 1.73 = 0.35 Points

2.08 + 0.35 = Target: 2.43

Resistance from the last broken down trendline, however, comes in this week at 2.34, and the H&S Top target of 1.63 still is IN PLAY.

Quantum and German Solar Partner Asola Awarded $135 Million Contract to Supply Solar Modules
Wednesday March 5, 9:30 am ET

IRVINE, Calif., March 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc. (Nasdaq: QTWW - News) today announced that its German solar partner, Asola Advanced and Automotive Solar Systems GmbH, has been awarded a contract by AS Solar GmbH for the supply of high-efficiency silicon photovoltaic solar modules. The value of this contract is estimated at $135 million over a three year period, beginning in 2008, and subject to final negotiations on quantity and price in 2009 and 2010.

Asola will supply its state-of-the-art 270 Watt and 230 Watt modules to AS Solar for installations primarily in Spain. AS Solar is a leading German integrated solar energy systems company with a strategic focus on Germany, Italy, and Spain.

"Asola is pleased to be selected by AS Solar to be its long-term supplier supporting their growing portfolio of European projects," said Asola's founder and CEO, Reinhard Wecker. "Our state-of-the-art, high-efficiency modules and high-quality module production processes were key to meeting all of AS Solar's rigorous requirements for these projects."

Quantum has recently announced acquisition of a 25% stake in Asola, and also a long-term supply contract with Ersol Solar Energy AG for the procurement of 155 MW of high-efficiency silicon photovoltaic solar cells, starting in 2008. The Ersol agreement guarantees a supply of solar cells to Quantum and Asola, thereby avoiding any potential future disruptions due to polysilicon shortages, as have been recently experienced by the solar cell industry. Resulting sales from the supply agreement with Ersol are anticipated to generate US $500 million for Asola and Quantum.

"We are excited to be able to announce this contract award for Asola's solar modules so soon after entering into the recently announced long-term photovoltaic cell purchase agreement," said Alan P. Niedzwiecki, President and CEO of Quantum. "Demand for Asola's high-quality solar modules continues to grow in the expanding renewable energy markets in Germany, Spain, Italy, and France. With our supply of solar cells secured, we believe that Quantum and Asola are well-positioned to meet this demand in Europe as well as to capitalize on the opportunities in California and the rest of North America."

The Spanish solar energy market is projected to grow in excess of 67% per year. Both Alan Niedzwiecki and Reinhard Wecker presented Quantum's and Asola's clean energy solutions at 'Genera08' Energy and Environment International Trade-fair in Madrid, Spain, 26-28th of February, 2008.

Long time no see...

Don't know the potential,
but with a few contracts that QTWW has received recently and its partner(a solar company in German) also received a big contract, QTWW's income statements will not be negative for coming few years. We don't know how many contracts in the future but QTWW certainly can grow. QTWW is a small company and I expect it will grow.

RedChip Independent Initiates Research Coverage On Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide
Monday June 2, 2:24 pm ET

ORLANDO, Fla., June 2, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- RedChip Independent, a division of RedChip Companies Inc., has initiated coverage on Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies World, Inc. (NasdaqGM:QTWW - News), a company developing and producing advanced propulsion systems, energy storage technologies, and alternative fuel vehicles, such as the new Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.

Harry Russell, MBA, RedChip Research Analyst, reported:

``Quantum has made several solid decisions as of late in light of oil prices, the economy, and the government's stance on alternative energy. By shedding its financially cumbersome Tecstar business unit and concentrating on environmentally friendly business units that work symbiotically, the Company is poised for revenue growth, margin expansion, and various economies of scale. In addition, it has strong relationships with large players carrying financial, technological, and political acumen, the most notably of which is General Motors (GM).''

``Quantum has taken a core business of selling propulsion systems to GM and is now developing hybrid vehicles using its affiliate's batteries, design acumen and expertise, and photovoltaic solutions. By so doing, Quantum has generated several large contracts which could be expanded and prove wildly lucrative, while at the same time reducing its exposure to traditional fuel-driven businesses,'' Russell continued.

``With rapid revenue growth and higher gross margins expected to lead to sustainable bottom-line profits by 2010, this transition window provides a timely investment opportunity. We recommend accumulation of shares and rate QTWW a 'Speculative Buy' with a 12-month price target of $4.00,'' he concluded.

4:04PM Quantum Fuel misses by $0.01, beats on revs (QTWW) 3.08 +0.15 : Reports Q4 (Apr) loss of $0.06 per share, $0.01 worse than the two analyst estimate of ($0.05); revenues rose 212.6% year/year to $9.7 mln vs the $8.1 mln two analyst estimate. "The Fisker Karma vehicle program remains on target with production expected to begin in the 4th quarter of calendar 2009.  Fisker Automotive expects to produce 7,500 Karmas in calendar 2010, for which Quantum will be providing the complete plug-in hybrid propulsion system based on lithium ion battery and control system technology."

Do your own DD, but debt is part of doing business. Despite that fact QTWW is primed within an industry that is going through change in how vehicles operate in relation to fuel efficiency, therefore, the macroeconomic factors will drive this stock price higher. Not to mention the fact about being added to the Russell 2000.
