Title: SIRI lacks volume
Post by: David Randolph on August 03, 2005, 11:29:44 AM
I see SIRI's results were out yesterday and the market reaction isn't much inspiring. Technically this advance phase has been made with much less volume than the last one, and that is a sign of weakness (volume as a technical indicator must be used in relative terms, you should compare volume now with its historical average).

I've made some analysis on SIRI and thought the stock came up just to close the gap showed on the next chart:

Over the short term I see an important ascending trendline break:

If today the stock closes lower we get a technical sell signal that will probably take the stock down at least to the first support area around $6.10. To remain bullish (holding the trendline on close), SIRI needs to close today above $6.87.

Good luck nofear !

Now someone give me another, thanks ! (you need to post after the analysis, not before, thanks)

Title: HOGC.OB: some signs of life after a steep downtrend
Post by: David Randolph on August 03, 2005, 11:54:03 AM
It's a strange thing HOGC is down so much over the past two years, considering the sector it's involved, the Oil and Gas sector. I guess the fall happened because the company had little production and revenues (I have no time to dig much):

On Friday we've had these news: Heartland Oil and Gas announces gas sales contracts, provides operational update (http://www.marketwatch.com/tools/quotes/newsarticle.asp?siteid=mktw&sid=1301370&guid=%7B1B3BD8EA%2DCB4F%2D46F4%2D8DBE%2DB03970B6304B%7D&symb=)

So the company is not dead and doesn't seem to be dying.

Over the short term I see the stock is building a base and attempting to rally. Volume suggests the lower prices have attracted some buyers. Perhaps a run to the long term descending resistance is next, that line is now around $1.07 (goes down $0.009 everyday):

I would do this:

1) Buy if the stock closes above $0.56 with a target price of $1.07 (going down a bit everyday)
2) Sell if the stock ever closes below the short term support line, which today will stand at $0.43

Good luck dhiraj19  :) Now someone give me another, thanks !

David,

Thanks a lot....

To add more.. HOGC only has 80 mil outstanding shares....Considering its an OB stock, the float is low.....
One philosophical question.

Which tools do you use for drawing lines on charts to see the resistances and I want to learn that now after learning TA candlestick analysis, volume accumulation and also selling at a small loss ( 5-7%) when stock goes down.

Thanks,
Dhiraj
Title: SOSA: UAU !!!
Post by: David Randolph on August 03, 2005, 12:16:14 PM
Stolt Offshore SA (SOSA). The Group's principal activities are those of offshore contractors, providing services to subsea oil and gas operations from exploration to decommissioning. These services include the design, supply and installation of all the subsea archicture, from the subsea wellheads to fixed or floating process platforms. The Group operates in more than 60 countries and has regional offices in the UK, France, the USA, Norway, Singapore and Brazil.

Uau cumulina, now I call this a real bull stock:

Considering the sector, this is not strange. The chart has many gaps because this is an ADR, so the open on the US is always influenced by quotes at the original market (for curiosity, what's that market? Norway? Denmark?)

Since this is an oil related company it's impossible to know until where it will rise, and it would be very dangerous to consider it overvalued (it looks like it is, but that doesn't mean, at all, the price won't continue to rise, it doesn't mean it won't rise tenfold, ok?)

Anyway, this is no small or medium cap stock, I see $2.33B in market cap.

I only know a way to play these kind of stocks with strong up moves: try to buy it close to an ascending support line and hold the stock as long as the ascending trend remains in place:

I would try to buy it around $11 and hold for the expected speculative oil bubble that's coming. When oil hits $80 or something and this stock breaks the uptrend line I would sell it and probably short it. But for now bulls have the ball and it wouldn't surprise me to see this stock at a new all time high, above $20, before it's all over.

Good luck cumulina, I hope you have this stock  :D  Now someone give me another, the last one for today ... thanks !

Time out, LOL, I'm going to rest a bit and then come to answer some questions.

I'm having some problems with personal messages and e-mails, so don't find strange sometimes I don't answer, I can't see the messages  ???

It is easier to contact me on the boards than through e-mail or PV.

Thanks, I wish you all good trades !

This one is another Ramsburg special, but we played it along him when it was in .035 range. Sold out all, but its coming strong again and again. May be elite is still in. Dont know about Ramsburg. Just curious whats your take on it.

Dave,
When you have a moment... what about ABIX. I got in @ 11.70 today, it bounced off 14.03-05 twice. The hardest thing for me is selling.
Thanks

Nevermind, I sold @ 14.55, thanks again. A sweet 5700+ gain.

Thank you for the great analysis, David.

Yes, I do have it.

I got in a bit late (as usual) and added some, as everything went so well.

Stolt Offshore is from Norway.

I can only see increasing demand for their services, as off-shore drilling will continue and even increase. (I think.)

I figure that oilcompanies will rise and fall, but as long as there is a need for oil (!) somebody will have to mess around with the difficult part of it.

Thanks again... :-*...now I'll just sit back and wait for my $20.- pr. share!

I want to recommend you two things:

1) Buy or get the technical analysis software Metastock
2) Buy and read the following book: «Technical Analysis of Stock Trends», from Edwards and Magee

This is what you need to make the same technical analysis I do.

This is easy stocky, you got be a bull on this stock. The trend is bullish and now it is making a bullish consolidation pattern, which is a symmetrical triangle. The higher probability says the breakout will be on the upside.

Anyway, you don't have to think much on this one, I would sell if it breaks the triangle on the downside, hold if we get an upside breakout (target of that breakout would be something like $0.165).

But I'm sure that on other threads you got more info on ADDI.OB, this is just a simple technical input.

Title: TMTA
Post by: Ramsburg on August 10, 2005, 01:56:08 PM
Hi !

I'm not David, but I'll try to give my input on TMTA (David is a bit sick today).

It's a bit difficult to practice TA on such a big move like this one... This reply should be posted yesterday, but anyway, the main upside reference on the chart was the gap zone $1.38/$1.45, which is now totally filled.

Now we have a new downside gap beginning @ 1.04 to the low of today's candle... This gap may give a bit of fear to new investors, and it's mainly the reason for today intraday move.

To the upside, there are no major references, I see only $1.91 and $2.19, which represent the relative highs above this point...

Best regards,

Frederick,

Is it possible you could divide the portfolio gains in the 3SOF portfolio into monthly or quarterly earnings analysis? I know that it is up huge since conception but I was unlucky enough to join AFTER >:( the big windfall in AMRE. I think it might help to convince some folks that David's system will deliver consistent gains and of course get your needed customer base going forward.

thanks, Brad

When you get the chance, would you give me an assessment on GENR?  Thank you.

Thought there was support at 2.22 but it dropped below that today.  Not quite sure about Fib.retracement levels...is the bottom reference from the first BWC?  Is the volume a factor when determining the bottome reference?  Where is the 50% fibonacci retracement?

Thanks in advance...Jody

I've been looking over some previous charts of yours.  Also, I discovered the "fibonacci retracement tool" on stockcharts.com which helps a lot.

Of course I can't figure out how to save/post the annotated chart.   :'(

From the very start of the run to the tip of the last BWC I get a 50% retracement of 2.10

Closed today at 2.12 and has fallen the last couple of days because:
Genaera sells 11.4M shares at $2.15 each
http://biz.yahoo.com/cbsmb/050912/38dd4f7b70b3451bb12f2f7bd380c4d6.html?.v=1

I value your input.

Thank you,
Jody

SWAT - a friend in my industry put me onto this company.

I'd heard of them - one of my clients (I'm a security consultant) is already using their systems for covert surveillance in a retail application. I have the prospectus but it is too large a document to post on the board.

Only 1,200,000 shares out - Hasn't moved much since the IPO in July but this account has some great mid-long term upside:

1. This company is in a red hot sector and is in the right place at the right time. Their product focuses on surveillance equipment that is installed in mass transit vehicles like buses and subway systems. The London bombings created an immediate need of these products and the demand of these products should remain high for the foreseeable future.

2. SWAT has an extremely low float. 1.2 million shares were offered in the IPO and the underwriters were given an additional 180,000 shares which were exercised bringing the total available shares to 1.38 million.

3. There are many occasions where when a stock suddenly appreciates in price where the run is stopped by eager insiders who want to cash out. SWAT insiders are in a unique position because they have a lock-up period of 12 months from the IPO date which can allow the stock price to appreciate without much hindrance over the course of the next few months.

4. SWAT is a relative unknown on Wall Street. It's shares are thinly traded and the company doesn't even have a Yahoo message board. This is the chance to buy the stock with relatively low risk before the crowd arrives.

5. Even though they currently have 1 customer this will soon be changing. The company news release on Sept. 2 stated they are currently in talks with 70 potential customers. With those numbers in mind the probability is very high that they will be announcing contracts in the near future which will bring awareness to this company and fuel the first of many upward movements in the stock's price.

6. The new CEO was the spent the past 29 years in DaimlerChryslerAG and including the being the President of Chrysler Europe. He knows how to handle growth and should provide instant credibility to the company and an array of contacts in the corporate world to help increase sales.

-----------------

OK, that's my opinon -  Now I'd like to hear yours -

Thanks,

Scott
