I'm in @ 0.26  >:D

POGY, CALI and FNIX

Let's sit back and wait ;)

Hi Julia,

I usually have 8 to 12 pennies on my portfolio... My strategy is to get some «bags» in some of them, and I take 25-35% risk on the others...
My picks on this board are merelly indicative, please do always your own DD, because most of this picks are really risky... (REALLY)

good luck !

ps: POGY is doing great ;-)

Thanks Ramsburg,

Yes, I'm also holding about 12 pennies right now..most of them doing very, very badly..unfortunately...I bought most of those when i first starting trading early this year...and i didn't know anything at all about risk management..i though u were just supposed to wait until things turned around for the better...i feel so silly now.

However, i am learning about taking small loses now...like yesterday, i sold my AMRE at .054...which i bought at .06...just in case...because i cant take the big losses anymore..they are killing me.

But, NNNC...that i also bought several months ago at .004...and almost sold last week in desperation at .0004!!! Took off just in time..and i actually made a profit!!!! Havent seen one of those in a very long while!

Thanks to everyone here....David and yourself included...i am learning alot about risk management...the charts, technical and fundamental stuff am still completely useless at..but, in time will hopefully understand it somewhat.

THanks to everyone for being so informative and helpful....hope everyone has had a profitable day...i did..and it feels great!!

One thing I have learned about pennies in the last couple months, is that you absolutely must take profits when you have them.

I got burned probably 20 seperate times where I had a large 20% or better profit and ended up taking a 20% loss by the time I sold.

So, now, I take my profits as soon as the momentum shifts, and I don't worry if it goes higher than my sell price.  It has made my trading a lot more profitable to let go of my greediness. 8)

I like that advise, Loffigus.  I'm going to try it as I have had some losses and lower gains than if I would have curbed my greed. :(

Hi Julia,

That's it Julia, 12 pennies on your portfolio is a nice rule... that way you are diversified, in case some of them go the wrong way....
But you should have another rule... I use it sometimes:
- When I don't remember why I bought some stock, I just sell it right away ;)
It's good for those cases where you are holding a stock for long time... Along with some kind of stop loss rule...

I'm sure you'll learn much more here at 3Stocks !

Best regards, and congrats on your green day ! ;)

Hi Loffigus,

I totally understand your point of view... and It's also one of the market's famous quotes:
«Never let a profit turn into a loss»...

Although, and especially in penny stocks, I don't always use it ...
And I'll explain why:
In some cases, and mostly in low float / market cap pennies, the potential is so HUGE, that doing that may compromises the initial strategy...
I've a great example, for this one: FCCN
I've bought it @ 0.014, then it went to 0.0169 or something few minutes after I bought it... on the next 2 days it was trading at 0.009 (big paper loss), then it went up again to 0.025 (good paper profit), then was down again to 0.011 (big paper loss again)... a few weeks later it was trading at 0.080 (+470%)... Off course I didn't sell it at 0.080, but I started selling it after 0.050, and sold my last shares today at 0.035 (I guess my selling average is around 0.055 or something) ...

This is just an example...

On these low float pennies, my strategy is to develop a mental target (based on TA, felling and FA), then I must give some room to the move to develop, and learn when to wait, and when to jump out... That's the more difficult part, but applying the «Never let a profit turn into a loss» rule is not compatible with most of these trades.... I guess there are no rules for this issue... just experience, and some money management...

Personally, I'll be much more frustrated if I sell 1 specific stock with a 30% gain some days before of having the possibility of making a 400% gain, then to sell with a 20% loss when I had the chance to have a 20% profit some days before... But off course, this is personal... every trader has its own particular sensibility... ;)

It's easier to watch a 30% paper loss, when that position only represents 3-4% of total equity... So I try never to be over exposed on ant given penny...

Best regards !

I guess thats normal on a stock like this ;)
I just added a little more to my position @ 21

I really have a good felling on this one... Todays drop must be related with the short term players making profit takings...

Anyway... this is high risk... high volatility... don't be over exposed on this ! ;)

Then they sell the news ?? Volumn is dead today. I watch Level II there's hardly any action today 450,000 shares traded so far. where is my 5 milliions shares action?? ;D

I watched this one as well today..it had a great run near close...and finished up 48%.

The run was due to the morning news:

2006-01-17 09:00:22
Major Oil Sands Development Project in Alberta Canada Moves Ahead

CALGARY, AB -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 01/17/06 -- Paradigm Oil and Gas Inc. (OTC BB: POGI)

Paradigm Oil And Gas, Inc.'s strategy of acquiring small interests in a
variety of domestic and international upstream oil and gas projects is
moving ahead at a time when gas and oil prices have spiked to all-time
highs. POGI has acquired promising diversified interests in natural gas
properties in Southern Alberta, and a heavy oil project in central Alberta.

Of particular interest, is the Sawn Lake heavy oil project, located in
Alberta's Peace River region, which is home to some of the world's largest
oil sands with an estimated 820 million barrels in place. The province of
Alberta contains approximately 1.6 trillion barrels of heavy oil in
unconventional oil sands deposits. Based on an 11% recovery factor,
Canada's recoverable reserves increased from just under 5 billion barrels
to 180 billion barrels in 2003, making the country's oil reserve the second
largest in the world, behind Saudi Arabia.

Worldwide conventional oil production is projected to decline while heavy
oil production is expected to more than double from the current level of
over 1.0 million barrels per day within 10 years. Given the new technology,
management believes that the break-even oil price at which the Sawn Lake
project shows viability is approximately US $17.23. There is also a
significant gas concentration present. With the unquenchable global demand
for more energy and oil currently trading at $60-65 per barrel the
possibilities for gain are substantial.

Calgary-based, Deep Well Oil & Gas Inc. is the major stakeholder in the
Sawn Lake project. They have embarked on an extensive drilling program to
systematically define the heavy oil reservoir section-by-section, which is
showing promising results. Laboratory analysis determined the core from the
vertical well has an average porosity of 32%, permeability in the range of
4 darcys, and over 40 feet of oil pay. The plan will then be to initiate
production from each drilled location as soon as practical in order to
generate an early positive cash flow. Full production will be coordinated
with the start-up of the field enhancement facility to minimize dependence
upon trucking.

The Sawn Lake Heavy Oil Project is advantageously situated since the
property is in very close proximity to both oil and gas pipelines.
Furthermore, these existing pipelines have a significant excess capacity
that may become available to the Company. The project has similar
geological characteristics to the proven Seal Field project producing heavy
oil from the same Bluesky reservoir formation where primary production
without any enhanced recovery is 2,500 barrels per day for the first nine
months ended September 30, 2004. Average primary well productivity is 400-
500 barrels per day. Because of earlier extensive exploration for deeper
light oil, the Sawn Lake project is able to benefit from extensive data
collected by others.

A third party report stated reserves in place at Sawn Lake have been
estimated by engineers at 1.2 billion barrels (gross) pf
10-degree API oil; with a recovery under primary (cold) production of 8%.
This would return net for a 10% working interest of 9.6 million barrels of
oil. Secondary production could result in doubling or greater of the
recoverable reserves. The report further stated this type of oil in the
area is receiving approximately $45.00/b.

Paradigm currently has an interest in only the first two wells, with an
option to participate in additional wells, under terms to be negotiated at
some point in the future.

Paradigm Oil and Gas, Inc. has 36.4 million common shares outstanding, and
has no debt. There are no options or warrants outstanding. They are guided
by a consummate international team with over two hundred years of
experience in the oil and gas industry.

About Paradigm Oil and Gas

Paradigm is a junior oil and gas exploration company headquartered in
Calgary, Alberta Canada. Its management believes in taking interests in low
risk Western Canadian energy projects and developing them jointly with
experienced operators maintaining low overheads for the Company. It
currently holds interests in the Sawn Lake oil sands project which is on 63
contiguous sections in North Western Alberta and in the Todd Creek and
Hillsprings exploration project with options to participate in 7 additional
sections.

julia...

i'm looking at the 1.25 yr. weekly chart...and the indicators look POSITIVE to me. the stochastics, RSI and MACD are all showing sign of bullishness resuming in the price action.

however, first resistance is clearly the $0.345 - 0.35 (May 05, Aug 05, Jan 06 - from chart). If that's taken out, $0.50 is offering both tech. resistance as well as a natural psychological resistance.

Volume, as always, is key. If it breaks out tomorroe from $0.35 on good volume, I say we will see a run to $0.50, else, some consolidation before attacking these two resistance zones again.

hope this helps.  :)
