Post by: saffeysite1 on August 14, 2005, 10:29:20 PM
Nymox Pharmaceutical Corporation is a biopharmaceutical company based in Maywood, New Jersey and Saint Laurent, Quebec. It has two subsidiaries, Nymox Corporation and Serex, Inc.

Nymox specializes in the research and development of therapeutics and diagnostics for the aging population.

Nymox developed and now markets the only non-invasive accurate urine test that can help in the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease, the Company's AlzheimAlert™ test, available from Nymox's CLIA certified Clinical Reference Laboratory in Maywood NJ.

Nymox also markets NicAlert™ and TobacAlert™, which are quantitative, easy-to-use, inexpensive patented urine tests for tobacco exposure.

Nymox is developing treatments for Alzheimer's disease and other indications employing its proprietary drug screening platforms. One program targets neural thread protein, the brain protein detected by AlzheimAlert™, and its role in the extensive brain cell loss associated with Alzheimer's disease. Another program is based on spherons, which Nymox researchers regard as a source of senile plaques, the characteristic abnormality found in abundance in the brains of patients with Alzheimer's disease and widely believed to play a major role in the cause and course of the illness.

Nymox is also working to develop treatments for enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia). The Company has successfully completed Phase 1-2 clinical trials of its investigational drug, NX-1207, and is proceeding with pivotal Phase 2 trials.

Nymox also has several antibacterials in development, including potential treatments for E. coli O157 food contamination, for urinary tract infections and for staph and strep infections.

The Company's R&D pharmaceutical pipeline also includes candidate drugs for other indications in development.

Last week a lot of buying in the stock.  To me that says there must be something coming.

This is a buy sign for me.   I will confirm this with Mondays opening range.  May get a pullback in the morning open.  Then if by 10Am start to see a intraday reversal then I am going to buy.

That's my plan.

On September 19, Nymox announced positive efficacy and safety results from its recently completed Phase 2 trial of NX-1207 for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Forty-three clinical trial sites across the U.S. and 175 subjects participated in the double-blind, placebo controlled trial. Overall, patients treated with NX-1207 showed a total pooled mean improvement of 9.35 points in the primary outcome endpoint of AUA Symptom Score values, which reached statistical significance when compared with the placebo control (p=.017). Published studies of currently approved drugs for BPH show AUA Symptom Score improvement in the 3.5 to 5 point range. The treated subjects also showed an overall significant reduction in mean prostate volume (secondary outcome) of 11.7% (6.84 grams; p=.02). The results of the trial demonstrated the excellent safety and side effect profile of NX-1207. Subjects treated with NX-1207 had no serious side effects. In particular, patients given NX-1207 had no (0%) significant sexual side effects. Serious adverse events occurred in 5.1% of all placebo patients, and in 0% of the NX-1207 treated group.

Nymox Pharmaceutical Corporation (NASDAQ:NYMX) is developing is developing NXC-4720, the Company's innovative new product targeting E. coli O157:H7 food poisoning at its source: the contamination of food products. Studies have shown that NXC-4720 is capable of reducing the level of E. coli O157:H7 contamination by over 99%.

Recent outbreaks of E. coli O157:H7 food poisoning highlight the vulnerability of the U.S. food supply chain and food industry to this serious public health hazard. As of December 10, 2006, 61 persons in northeastern U.S. had reported sick as a result of E. coli O157:H7 food poisoning with 50 requiring hospitalization. Preliminary results point to contamination of green onions. An earlier outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 contamination of fresh spinach in September 2006 left three people dead and over 100 people hospitalized. Children and the elderly are particularly at risk for the effects of this serious illness.

Nymox has patent rights covering novel treatments for E. coli contamination and infection as well as other anti-bacterial treatments, including three issued U.S. patents, other international versions of these patents, as well as numerous pending patent applications both in the U.S. and abroad.

Despite efforts to improve the safety of the food supply system, outbreaks of potentially deadly E. coli O157 food contamination remain common, both in the U.S. and around the world, including England, Ireland, France, and Canada. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that E. coli O157 infections cause 73,000 illnesses annually in the U.S. alone, resulting in more than 2,000 hospitalizations and 60 deaths. A recent study by the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimated that the annual cost of illness due to E. coli O157 was $404 million, including $370 million for premature deaths: Frenzen PD et al, Journal of Food Protection 2005; 68:2623-2630.
