GVI Security Solutions Provides Outlook for Second Half of 2005
08/31/2005 08:00

GVI Security Solutions, Inc. (OTCBB: GVIS), a provider of integrated Homeland Security Enterprise solutions for government agencies and the private sector, today provided additional information with respect to its business outlook for the second half of 2005.

The Company expects to achieve a reduction in its net loss during the third and fourth quarters of 2005 from its second quarter loss of approximately $2.9 million, and to achieve breakeven status by the close of the first quarter of 2006. This forecast is based upon the expectation that sales of its retail products will return to historical levels during the second half of the year, and on the anticipated continued growth in sales of higher margin products by the Company's Enterprise Solutions Group.

Furthermore, the Company expects to generate positive cash flow from operations during the second half of 2005, due to improvements in its working capital management during the period.

"With $5.2 million in cash and $22 million in positive working capital as of the end of its second quarter, GVI Security Solutions has the financial strength to execute its current business plan. We anticipate being able to achieve profitability during 2006 without recourse to equity financings, which could be dilutive to our shareholders, or incurring additional debt outside of our current revolving credit facility," said Nazz Paciotti, the Company's CEO.

NEW YORK, Aug 31, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Homeland Security Stocks.com (HSS) - Joseph Rosetti, an active member of the Board of Directors of GVI Security Solutions, Inc. (GVIS, Trade), the complete end-to-end Homeland Security Enterprise Solutions provider, analyzed why proper risk management requires a focus on technology that utilizes the latest products in a Homeland Security article he wrote for the August 2005 edition of Security Products Magazine.

Mr. Rosetti's main points focus on the benefits of using readily available existing technologies that:

-- Can provide more efficient, preventative and cost-effective security systems.

-- Include smart cameras, biometric systems, perimeter detection systems and access control systems that use databases and other information that can be integrated into a complete (end-to-end) solution to make public and private facilities more secure.

-- Are quickly and easily installed.

-- Can minimize interference with the flow of individuals, adding no more than five to 10 seconds to a security protocol.

-- Offer portal systems that allow large numbers of people to move through a secure building entrance, while quickly diverting suspicious or other questionable individuals to a secondary checkpoint without increasing wait times while being used in conjunction with access control systems, metal detectors and surveillance systems.

In addition to being a member of GVI's Board of Directors, Mr. Rosetti is President of SafirRosetti a full-service security consulting, investigative and intelligence firm. He has extensive experience at the most senior levels of government and corporate security and is recognized as a leading authority on a wide range of security issues. He was formerly the Vice Chairman of Kroll Associates and previously had worldwide responsibility for security programs at IBM including IBM's critically important Department of Defense Security.

Many of the technology protocols mentioned by Mr. Rosetti are solutions that are offered by GVI Security a provider of complete video surveillance and security solutions incorporating a complete line of video surveillance, access control and detection systems to the homeland security, professional, business-to-business and retail market segments. GVI provides a strong combination of CCTV, Digital Video Recording, Access Control, RAPOR Rapid Access Portals, Video IT Based Networking, and Perimeter Control systems, Video Threat Detection and PTZ Tracking software.

Headed up by Bearing Point (BE, Trade) Phase III includes subcontractors such as Lockheed Martin (LMT, Trade), Unisys (UIS, Trade), Anteon (ANT, Trade) and SAFLINK.

HomelandSecurityStocks.com - GVI Security Solutions Directors Accumulate Shares
Thursday September 15, 2:55 pm ET

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 2005--Homeland Security Stocks.com (HSS) - GVI Security Solutions, Inc. (OTCBB: GVIS - News) Director John Gutfreund and Chairman of the Board Howard Safir accumulated shares of GVI in open market transactions over the past few weeks.

In our opinion, these purchases represent a personal vote of confidence by GVI board members in the company's prospects moving forward. The accumulation of shares by board members is especially noteworthy following GVI's recent announcement that they expect to achieve profitability during 2006, generate positive cash flow from operations during the second half of 2005 and accomplish this without the need for any additional funding.

The company has also recently moved forward with enhanced Homeland Security programs including a new Mass Transit Intelligent Video System and a contract to install a sophisticated visitor management system for the Collier County school system.

GVI Security Solutions Announces $7 Million in Loss Prevention Systems Agreements
Tuesday January 17, 8:30 am ET
Company to Provide Customized Inventory Loss Prevention Installations to Major Big Box Retailer and Key Regional Wholesaler

CARROLLTON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 17, 2006--GVI Security Solutions Inc. (OTCBB: GVIS - News), a provider of integrated security solutions incorporating access control, detection and surveillance systems, today announced that it has entered into two agreements to provide inventory loss prevention systems. The first agreement, with a major U.S. big box retailer, is expected to generate revenues of $5 million. The second agreement, with a regional wholesaler, is expected to generate revenues of $2 million.

GVI will provide its top line customized Security Surveillance Systems to these vendors. The Security Surveillance Systems feature all of the components necessary to supply a complete security solution, including, cameras, lenses, recording devices, digital video recorders and multiplexers that allow multiple signals to be transmitted simultaneously across a single channel.

"Employee theft costs American citizens more money each year in terms of higher prices and reduced supply than any other type of larceny," said Howard Safir, chairman of GVI. "Our customers require top line, seamless capabilities for their monitoring systems. By utilizing our surveillance solutions, we believe they will significantly increase recognition and detection of criminal theft, and drastically reduce their costs."

According to a recent survey, in 2003 U.S. retailers lost $33.6 billion of inventory due primarily to employee theft, shoplifting and vendor fraud, and the average retailer budgeted 0.51 percent of its prior year's revenues for security and loss prevention measures.

"With inventory loss a primary concern, we expect continued interest in our security solutions from retailers," said Nazzareno Paciotti, chief executive officer. "While our clients use these GVI solutions primarily for inventory loss prevention, our systems offer advanced protection when used correctly for additional security measures, such as parking lot surveillance, entrance and exit control and documentation.

"Additionally, we are experiencing increased interest in our Security Surveillance Systems from both government and corporate clients. Systems installed five to seven years ago to comply with Y2K concerns are approaching the end of their natural life span, and clients are seeking immediate upgrades in visitor management, card access, detection and surveillance products, such as our 'intelligent' CCTV system," he added.

Other GVI Products and Activities

GVI has extensive experience in commercial, industrial, government, military and security installations. Its Enterprise Solutions Group provides a full range of top line solutions and professional products to its customers, including, assessment, design, project management and installation.

During the past two years, GVI has secured key contracts for its surveillance security solutions for high threat, high profile installations such as the Port of Miami, Port of Tampa, New York City Transit Authority, JFK Airport, Tinker Air Force Base, Federal Express, CitiGroup and many other corporate and government customers.

In August 2005, GVI introduced the Mass Transit Intelligent Video System (MTIVS) to the rapidly growing homeland security market. Named a top new product by Security Products Magazine, MTIVS is a state-of-the-art "intelligent" video threat detection system that continuously monitors and evaluates images from multiple cameras, and instantly alerts a command center to threat detection.

In addition, the Company recently completed the installation of the Rapor FastTrac(TM) Portal, a product it launched in 2005, at the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration headquarters in the Washington, DC area.
