I was just hunting around and I found that this Memory Pharmaceuticals company had several very large insider buys today...one is for a value of $6million!. Here is the insider buy link:
http://www.secform4.com/insider/pennybuys.php (http://www.secform4.com/insider/pennybuys.php)
So then I checked for news and found the 2 last news releases on Sept 22 and Sep 21.
Here is the link...tab down the page to see news:

Hi Julia and anyone else checking out MEMY,
Having had a brief look at the background, charts etc., I think this one could be worthwhile for a speculative short-to-medium term play...
The insider buying definitely helps, as company officers and a major investor all evidently firmly believe that share prices will move up from here. Looking at the charts, yesterday's prices bounced off the all-time low of 1.75 yesterday, which equalled a previous low set at the beginning of July - could this be the double bottom of a long term trend reversal?? And the price moved up over 13% in after hours trading above the next support level at $2.00 to stand at 2.06. If it can hold this level on Monday, it may continue to make further gains.
As for the August spike, that was a price spike in run-up to earnings on Aug 9th. If you look at the daily chart, there were continued higher openings for the previous days, and then it sank back to where it had been on release of their quarterly earnings. Perhaps people had been expecting some big things, but for a loss-making biotech that doesn't have any products to market yet, I'm not sure what that would be. Could well have been a MM momo play too :P
My feeling with this one is that it could either stay around the $2 mark for some time to come, or it may gain the momentum to reverse its long-term down trend. This would only be confirmed by a break of higher resistance at $2.62. The insider buying looks to have given it some support, so it might even be worthwhile for a short term trade within this range too???
Just my thoughts, and would be happy to hear some other views. Here are the charts :) :)
Julia
Sent you reply to you're post concerning MEMY at insider buying thread. Also gave you another one to look at ALAN.

Thank you for this info and the great charting ScottishTrader (applaud)
Julia, I think this pick might get hot but, its a big BUT :D, you
gotta have volume come in. What i see is that if
MEMY is on pace monday for over a million shares you got a 50% rise minimum. A close above the 200 day and this one could easily attack 5 but its all about the volume on this guy. Average volume sucks and that means you could get stranded with an early buy. Lets see if MEMY likes Monday. (applaud!)
Hey Scottishtrader, Eliteg and Wrangler1
thanks for your posts..I will keep MEMY on radar and watch to see what happens with MEMY, lets see if some volume kicks in?
I will look for your bullish indicators!
Hey Wrangler, I replied to your post in the insider buy thread...MEMY has it going on in two threads...I'm getting dizzy :D :D
Also, Wrangler is looking at ALAN, that also had insider buys on Sept 23...maybe u would want to look it over also and share any comments on that as well.
thanks guys!!! lots of great info and help as always ;D
enjoy the rest of your weekend!
julia
Hey Guys....maybe there really is something to those huge insider buys...cause its up pre-market....What's Up!!!!
julia
Thought i would post this link from stock talking over here.
There were some large insider buys on Friday sept 23....one for $6 mil..not sure what is up exactly...however...premaket is up and moving this morning on MEMY.. ...check out the thread for further details.

Memory Pharmaceuticals Completes Safety and Tolerability Study of MEM 1003
9/26/05
Preparing to Commence Dosing Patients in Phase 2a Trial
MONTVALE, N.J., Sept 26, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ --
Memory Pharmaceuticals Corp. (Nasdaq: MEMY) today announced that it has completed the dosing portion of the safety and tolerability study of MEM 1003 in Alzheimer's patients. The Company also announced that it now expects to commence dosing patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease in a Phase 2a clinical trial in the next several weeks.
"This study has provided us with valuable information about the safety and tolerability of MEM 1003 in Alzheimer's patients, which has been integral to the design of the Phase 2a clinical trial. We are now moving forward into the Phase 2a clinical trial with a solid understanding of the safety and pharmacokinetic parameters for this drug candidate," said David A. Lowe, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer of Memory Pharmaceuticals. "We look forward to sharing top-line results from the safety and tolerability study during the fourth quarter."
The Phase 2a proof of concept study for MEM 1003 will be a multi-center, randomized, double-blind placebo-controlled study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of MEM 1003 in patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.
The safety and tolerability study was conducted under a U.S. Investigational New Drug Application. The study consisted of two segments, a double-blind dose escalation phase and a double-blind treatment phase. In the first segment of the study MEM 1003 or placebo was administered to 49 patients two times on one day. Patients in this segment of the study were treated at escalating doses of MEM 1003 that reached 120 milligrams per dose. In the double-blind treatment segment, 32 patients received 120 mg of MEM 1003 or placebo twice daily for a period of ten days.
MEM 1003 is a neuronal L-type calcium channel modulator that Memory Pharmaceuticals is developing for the treatment of AD, a progressive neurodegenerative disorder for which there is no known cure. By blocking L- type calcium channels, MEM 1003 may regulate the flow of calcium and reestablish normal levels of calcium, thereby enhancing cognition and reducing progression of the disease.

news update:
Memory Pharmaceuticals completes dosing in trial
Tuesday , September 27, 2005 13:00 ET
Sep 27, 2005 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) --Memory Pharmaceuticals has completed the dosing portion of the safety and tolerability study of its drug candidate MEM 1003 in Alzheimer's patients.
The company also expects to commence dosing patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease in a Phase 2a clinical trial in the next several weeks.
"This study has provided us with valuable information about the safety and tolerability of MEM 1003 in Alzheimer's patients, which has been integral to the design of the Phase 2a clinical trial," said Dr David Lowe, chief scientific officer of Memory Pharmaceuticals. "We are now moving forward into the Phase 2a clinical trial with a solid understanding of the safety and pharmacokinetic parameters for this drug candidate."
The Phase 2a proof of concept study for MEM 1003 will evaluate the safety and efficacy of MEM 1003 in patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.

In the double-blind treatment segment, 32 patients received 120 mg of MEM 1003 or placebo twice daily for a period of ten days.
hanks for the memories
First up today is Memory Pharmaceuticals, which is developing treatments for diseases of the central nervous system. Yesterday brought good news for the company: It has completed the dosing portion of the safety and tolerability tests for MEM 1003, which is aimed at treating Alzheimer's. That means the drug can move into phase 2a clinical trials. Investors cheered the news, sending the stock higher by almost 20%. But I doubt any were happier than board member Jonathan Fleming. His private equity firm, Oxford Bioscience Partners, one of Memory's original investors, on Friday acquired more than 3.1 million shares for two of its funds and warrants to buy 1.1 million more.
That's positively Fristian timing, isn't it? Sure is, but I find it impossible to call shenanigans. It's not like the investing public didn't know this was coming. Last Wednesday, the company announced that it had completed a $31 million private placement to boost its financial position. The "existing investors" mentioned in the press release surely include Fleming's Oxford Bioscience Partners.
http://www.fool.com/news/commentary/2005/commentary05092710.htm?source=eptyholnk303100&logvisit=y&npu=y&bounce=y&bounce2=y
Indeed there was heavy insider buying around $1.90 and more is schedule at $2.22 if everything goes as planned. I'm very bullish on this stock, making real progress on its drugs and with just $45.86M in market cap.
Technically a bottom is in place and the trend is turning bullish. I will continue holding MEMY for the foreseeable future.
I dont know to laugh or cry. as bad as all my stocks are doing: i see a little green in my account. it is that stock memy that i bought. but wait only a 20.00 profit from 8% gain, and then i see i put an order in for 200 instead of 2000. Hey Puenthouse, it happens to everyone. I miscalculated a buy on TZOO once, wanted to get 300 at $35, ended up buying 3,000 :o
Puenthouse-
Don't worry about it!! We've ALL done that at one time or another. I'd suggest you try what I did and that is to leave a note on the monitor. After awhile, it will become second nature to double-check your orders. But don't fret over it. You seem like a very bright guy and you're in good hands here at 3SOF . puenthouse, don't worry too much about each trade, those mistakes happen, think only of long term success. And your entry at $2.52 is probably a good trade too :) But thanks for sharing, your experience is good advice ... I won't tell you how much I lost trading the DAX futures a couple of weeks ago because of a similar mistake: I thought I was short but I wasn't, so when I was buying some contracts to take profits I was actually entering long. Since I thought I was flat I turned off the trading system. Only later I found out that I was actually long and losing 50 points. So you're not alone in the mistake family ::)
Considering MEMY I saw now that the number of shares outstanding is higher than we thought, as you can read on this excerpt from a filing filed with the SEC yesterday before the close:
«Based on 37,153,883 shares of Common Stock of the Issuer outstanding as of September 23, 2005, the Reporting Persons hold approximately 5.7%* of the issued and outstanding Common Stock of the Issuer.»
Marketwatch.com says the number of outstanding shares is 21.04M.
Anyway, I'm really no fundamental analyst and couldn't tell without extremely extensive research what is the fundamental value of MEMY (nobody really knows for sure, since it is all based on projections and value is a subjective thing).
But there's something that tells the value at each moment, and that's the market price. According to the market price, MEMY's value is rising, and those are the kind of stocks that we want.
With much less volume the stock went up to $4.49 just a couple of months ago, who knows where it will go with the recent record volume? I don't know, but I'm willing to let the profits run on MEMY.
Thanks Julia for this nice pick to play.... ;)
Once again a very good job....well done trader!!! ;D

David, Thanks for MEMY. Nice pick got in and got out. Looking to get in again.
I have donated $300, please up my status when you get a chance.
Username: "xwhois"
Thanks.
Thanks for your donation xwhois, you're already an Honours Member of 3 stocks on Fire :)
I'm not thinking about selling MEMY at this point. Just look at the incredible volume the stock is trading compared to its historical volume. I see at least $4.5 on the horizon.
This thing that the stock does, not closing at the high of the day, is quite bullish, because this way, altough it opens higher on the next day, it doesn't do it on a gap up.
Profit taking is taking place as xwhois did, but the stock holds and continues to move higher. I have a 35% profit on MEMY and I will let it grow, the trend is my friend.
Did not trade this stock and have some regrets but must applaud atleast three time for such a great pick. Well done David.
Let's not forget it was Julia's pick before David got into it!
So Stocky you might want to applaud Julia also for het great pick!
Amarens :)
Hi,
Julia, since many people are applauding David I had to applaud you. You had the first pick!
Congrats and thanks.

I have traded MEMY twice in a few days now for great gains, sure I could have held for similar result, but I am just making sure I book profits on some of these movers. I sold MEMY yesterday as it seemed to be struggling to get past the $3 zone, also the 200ema 'ceiling was just above at $3.34. On my intraday chart you can see MEMY had 3 touches at $3.20 (white horizontal line) only to fall back each time. Now David's point about the vol and $4.50 target is very valid. So I am going to look to get back in on a move above $3.20, I'll probably put a limit buy at $3.23 or so because if it takes that level out it will move ahead and turn resistance into support. I'll watch opening few bars to define my re-enty plan.
Resistance touches on Intraday Chart:
I will applaud julia once i am back from work. Thanks for pointing out.
thanks aussie for your analyzing....i got a good trade bought 2.38 and sold today in premarket at 3.07
any one still holding?
what should do now?
newbie needs help here,I am a bag holder now with lose. any help? any one see more down side than up side ?
Don't worry too much, light. The stock almost doubled in just a couple of days so a little profit taking is normal. Plus it's Friday, the end of the quarter and the market has been mixed today. David is confident that it has a lot of upside potential so let the trend be your friend. :)
With that said, be comfortable with your trade. If you're not going to be able to sleep this weekend because of it's move down, then take some off the table to a point that you are ok. No sense ruining a perfectly good weekend on a single trade.

I believe David has laid out a plan which would indicate that he is holding at this level.
Just a bit of friday profit taking after a good week!.
All the best

If you are experiencing a painful loss, then by all means you should sell at least some of your stock, but this decision is yours. I don't think David will sell, but he often does say to never allow a profit to become a loss.
I took a small position, and reacted to this drop by buying further; price has recovered a bit since then, so I am close to break-even. Again, this is my decision, David does not recommend buying more of a losing stock.
I am planning to exit soon if stock doesn't show signs of a rally before the close, though I will be reluctant to do so in the face of such significant insider purchases.
This is a very small-float stock, which means it can be very volatile, which is why I approached with caution. New investors should especially be wary of small floats.
They often come back as quickly as they fall, but not always.
If it's of any comfort, consider that today is showing considerably smaller volume than the recent "up" days -- today may not even total 2 million shares, while the up days were 3.2-3.8 million. This means that most buyers are holding through this.
I agree with others who posted. some profit taking is healthy for this stock. Its had a big run up and this down turn today is not that significant.
I did not like the close AT ALL. As I am looking to increase my stake in BRVO anyway, I pulled the trigger.
Doesn't mean I don't think it will move. I think it will, and I hope I'm paying attention when it does, so I can leap on it then. But I've got a very high priority fot capital preservation.
anyone has ideas on what was going on last 5 min before closing?

Thanks for any comments.

Great Pick, David.
My donation is on the way
Thanks
Applaud Julia. Great pick. Wish I would have been onboard. Anyway keep them coming.
MEMY is in Barrons on page M11 as the number 1 insider purchases (5.2 million shares bought by 9 insiders) in the 10-03-05 edition. Could bring a lot of attention to MEMY on Monday!
David and Ramsburg, keep up the good work you are doing. I am very appreciative and have profited from your knowledge and lessons.
Thank You,
EllieMae :D
Thanks for your comments :) Let me try to address some of your doubts.
MEMY was up a lot over the short term and went down on profit taking on Friday. Of course I'm still holding the stock (I always say I'm going to sell before I actually do it).
So, after a trend reversal to bullish and a big run up over the short term, we have a pull back. It is the magnitude of the pullback that will tell us if the first rise was just of speculative nature or if it had some fundamental background. The market action will give us the answers we need, because the market always knows better.
For this purpose I use the Fibonacci retracement levels. A normal and healthy pullback wouldn't take out more than 50% of the initial move, so I sure wouldn't like to see MEMY close below $2.5, which is a short term support and the 50% retracement level. But if the drop stops right here, at the 38.2% retracement level, that would be even more bullish for MEMY.
So my plan is simple: I will continue holding if the stock is set to close above $2.5. I will sell if the stock is set to close below $2.5, as someone wise said, that would mean «something's fishy».
In the meantime, if you have the time, take a look at the profile of the company and their website, I appreciate the company's ideas:

Just wanted to say that I joined as Honours memeber this weekend. I also want to say that I have made lots of money with VPHM - got back in at 15 after selling at 13.70 but got out to early at 17; next have been big fan of HOM and acquired more shares at 4.23 - although I know David sold at 4.35. Also own AOB.
Finally, I just bought MEMY today at 2.94.
I enjoy the recommendations of the Board and have now acquired 5 stocks ( AOB, BTUI as well) from the rec list of 3stcoks. I also owned BRVO before I found the Board.
I dont post very much but have become an avid reader of the comments on the stocks I own or am thinking of owning. My main holdings also include ARQL, SWB (although am thinking of selling after today), CHK, ELN (with coverd calls). Looking for some new trades and will post when I find them.
Thanks to all - I love the service

I hope this is stock cont. to go up, but I need to take profits and run. Dave picks enough good ones, that i just need to take the small profits when i can and get strong again. GL on memy

The stock ultimately did what's written on bold. That's very bullish. I'm expecting MEMY to break the $3.21 high soon, possibly today.
You're welcome defenderyou, looking forward for your posts :)
QuoteI'm expecting MEMY to break the $3.21 high soon, possibly today.
MEMY did break $3.21, rising more than 10% at one point in the session, but failed to hold that rally. The general market didn't help either. The stock needs some more time to consolidate recent gains and that's ok by me.
I feel encouraged by the high volume (though today it wasn't high enough for a bullish breakout. It's better this way, if the breakout had occurred with this low volume it would probably be a false one).
I believe it is just a matter of time for MEMY to decisively break $3.21 on a closing basis and I got time, plenty of time.
Dave, as the place to find you is on the MEMY Board, just wanted to tell you that I picked up MEMY yesterday at 2.94. Today I bought BMD - Birch Mountain Resources, which had a breakout three days ago. I bought this am at 5.08 and we are up to 5.71 at the close. This is a Canadian company engaging in mineral exploration. I consider it an overlooked mineral play. The move has been on very high volume, around 750k to 1 mill compared with avg vol that is under 250k. Another unknown Nat Gas play is TREN, which was down today, but I am studying now that I am out of NGAS.
I think you may like BMD as it seems to have all the technical characteristics you are looking for. What do you think?
I also bought SVA after reading 35 pages on the stream here. Most impressive, but I got in too high today. I guess the correction was healthy. I am not worried.
Anyway, thought I would give something back to 3stocks. I also dumped my SWB at 5.50 and my AOB at 4.60 today Dont like the way AOB is behaving.
Thanks for MEMY

MEMY holding up nicely on such a bad day.
The 9-day and former support is at 2.65 area so it may be an OK entry - at least if it does not hold then you can sell for a minor loss. you can avearage in a bit higher and add if it goes a bit lower.

I couldn't find BMD on my database, does that stock trade on the US markets? Thank you. I would avoid natural gas stocks, I'm bearish on energy related stocks at this moment.

You missed the low of the day for just 1 tick metro, nice call :D
Considering MEMY the stock is still consolidating between the highs and the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level. Perhaps some people are worried that the people who bought a lot of shares directly from the company at $1.9 might be interested in selling at this point. Nothing can be further from the truth, since they are very long term investors on this stock, and bough a lot more shares at higher prices than the current market level.
Read here from Tuesday's SEC filing (Form SC 13D):
Pursuant to the terms of those certain Securities Purchase Agreements by and between Memory, Venrock Associates and Venrock Associates II, L.P. and various other investors, dated as of September 21, 2005 (each, a "Securities Purchase Agreement," and collectively the "Securities Purchase Agreements"), the Venrock Entities purchased an aggregate of 789,473 shares of Common Stock at a price of $1.90 per share for total consideration of $1,499,998.70 (collectively, the "Shares"). Under the terms of the Securities Purchase Agreements, the Venrock Entities also received warrants to purchase an aggregate of 276,315 shares of Common Stock at an exercise price of $2.22 per share (subject to customary anti-dilution and other adjustments described below) (the "Warrants"). Each of the Warrants is exercisable from March 22, 2006 through September 22, 2010 (the "Exercise Period") and can be exercised in cash. In addition, the Warrants may be "net exercised" at any time during the Exercise Period. The net exercise provision allows the Venrock Entities to receive shares of Common Stock equal to the value of the Warrants without paying the exercise price in cash, but rather by surrendering the number of shares underlying the Warrant having a fair value equal to the exercise price of the shares being acquired. In addition, the exercise price of and the number of shares issuable under the Warrants are subject to customary adjustments in certain events, including capital reorganization or reclassification of Memory's securities, certain mergers, consolidations, sales of substantially all of the assets of Memory and other distributions of Memory. The consideration for the Warrants is included in the aggregate purchase price of the Shares.
The sale of securities to the Venrock Entities described above is part of a private placement by Memory to a number of affiliated and unaffiliated investors (including the Venrock Entities) (collectively, the "PIPE Investors"). The closing of the transaction occurred on September 23, 2005 (the "Closing Date").
Prior to the Securities Purchase Agreements, the Venrock Entities held an aggregate of 1,297,157 shares of Common Stock. These shares were acquired through venture capital investments prior to the Issuer's initial public offering, for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $8,000,002. The part on bold tells me they bought shares at $6.16 before the company made its IPO. They invested $8,000,002 at that time. Now they invested $1,500,000 more so it makes no sense for them to sell at prices below $6.16.
Technically I think after this consolidation phase the trend will continue to be ascending. I will only stop my position if the stock ever gets to be set to close below the 50% retracement level, which is $2.5.
David:
I dont know what happened but try to write a note and run a spell check, when I finished the check the reply disappeared, so I am writing a short response.
Also forgot to tell you that I bought NWRE on youe rec (although you sold after 2 days). I actually bought $10 DEC calls at 5.0 and 5.10. Sold yesterday at 7.20 as market sentiment told me time to get out. Will look to re-enter in low 16s or when sentiment improves.
On BMD, the pattern is facinating: up to 5.80 from 4.95, down to 4.95 yesterday, down to 4.50 and now back above 5.0. I had to sell at 4.70 based on my stop-loss discipline but am pissed at myself as it has recovered since. BMD is not nat gas, but rather minerals. Look at stock charts.com to see why I think you will like this.
Also rec ARQL as it has fallen to low 7s. Have bought several times in low 7s (usually sodl in 8s but not this time). I have been accumulating since mid 5s, and if they get FDA approval to go to Phase II on their chekpoint approach to cancer cure, this stock can triple. Read this form Yahoo to get the background:

Thanks for update on MEMY, love that SVA, and am considering HEB
Later
Defenderyou (Victor)
Hello Victor :) Indeed BDM has an attractive chart pattern, the trend is certainly bullish. But I'm not too keen on commodities, minerals and mining at this point in time.
MEMY continues to trade between the recent highs and the 23.8% Fibonacci retracement level. Volume is drying up on this consolidation phase, which is a bullish indicator to me.
The fact that the stock came down only to the 23.6% retracement, after an 83% rise in just 5 days, tells me this bull trend still has some to go. I expect a white marubozu to new highs anytime soon.
Nothing new for MEMY, on the technical or fundamental side. The consolidation phase is still taking place between the highs and the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement level, which stands at $2.66.
Given the fundamentals and the chart I think the uptrend will resume soon.
What is the safety net on this trade?
For now I really wouldn't like to see MEMY close below $2.5, which is the 50% retracement level, and I would sell if that were to happen.
We've had some positive news after the close, but nothing special:
Memory Pharmaceuticals Highlights Development Programs at the GTCBio Annual Conference on Therapeutic Strategies Against Neurodegenerative Conditions (http://www.marketwatch.com/tools/quotes/newsarticle.asp?siteid=mktw&sid=1702614&guid=%7BDDD53044%2D9090%2D4C11%2D818A%2D9E8F3816821B%7D&symb=)
Technically MEMY opened way too high, at $3, and of course couldn't hold on to those gains. It ended near the lows of the session, and near short term support too.
It is still on that range, between the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level and the highs. I will continue holding the stock, expecting a bullish breakout soon, but I won't tolerate if it is set to close below $2.50, and I'll take a small profit if that were to happen.

Memory Pharmaceuticals Highlights Development Programs at the GTCBio Annual Conference on Therapeutic Strategies Against Neurodegenerative Conditions
Monday October 10, 4:30 pm ET
MONTVALE, N.J., Oct. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Memory Pharmaceuticals Corp. (Nasdaq: MEMY - News) today announced that David A. Lowe, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer, will be presenting pre-clinical data from the Company's clinical development programs at the GTCBio Annual Conference on Therapeutic Strategies against Neurodegenerative Conditions in Boston.
The presentation will highlight the potential benefits of developing memory enhancing neuroprotective drugs and feature pre-clinical data demonstrating the cognitive enhancing and neuroprotective properties of MEM 1003, the Company's lead development candidate. The data that will be presented demonstrates that animals dosed with MEM 1003 showed improvements in a variety of tests predictive of beneficial cognition and learning effects in humans, and that MEM 1003 protected against beta-amyloid toxicity in neuronal cultures.
MEM 1003 is a neuronal L-type calcium channel modulator that Memory Pharmaceuticals is developing for the treatment of Alzheimer's Disease, a progressive neurodegenerative disorder for which there is no known cure. By modulating L-type calcium channels, MEM 1003 may regulate the flow of calcium and re-establish normal levels of calcium, thereby enhancing cognition and reducing progression of the disease.
Memory Pharmaceuticals has completed a Phase 1 study in healthy, young and elderly volunteers and recently announced the completion of dosing in a safety and tolerability study in Alzheimer's patients under a U.S. Investigational New Drug Application. The Company is preparing to initiate a Phase 2a study for MEM 1003 in patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.

I must assuem that you sold in the late day as it was set to close below 2.50. Clearly as it approached this price, the selling volume picked up significantly. I took your rule to heart and sold all I could from 2.39 upwards to mid 2.40s. Still have a few thousand shares left though.
Also, HED closed below 1.96 but I did not take action yet. Did you sell or will you be selling since the downward threshold was violated?
Congrats on SVA and VICL to day by the way - I made a lot of money on SVA; I also have one of my ROTH accounts entirely in SVA - dont tell me that I have no diversification though. MY Roth went up 20% today!!; wish that could happen every day. I also made good money on HOM and CHK! But losing on HED, MEMY and ARQL cut my gain in half; overall an up 3% day in my investmnet/trading portfolio overall. In fact since I started my new program 75 days ago, I am up close to 70%, of which I owe some of that to 3stocksonfire.org. Just so you know I am semi-retired and do this for a living now, to apy the ex-wife, mortgae, etc, etc.

I really couldn't tell, on an intraday basis, if support at $2.50 was going to hold or not. I can't comment on intraday developments since I design a trading plan, when the market is closed, and I follow it.
I really don't consider intraday information ... just imagine if I were to consider it, how many analysis on each stock that I hold would I have to do during the day? Millions of thoughts on every tick change ... I used to do that, when I was younger, but now I'm tired. And my money is growing faster and more steadily since I stopped watching every tick on the intraday.
Good luck for those who continue to hold MEMY, I'm out, according to the plan, unfortunately the trend is no longer bullish ...
ouch!
I'm still in this stock. I see 3stocksonfire exited at 2.40.

Memory Pharmaceuticals Announces Collaboration to Develop PDE10 Inhibitors for Central Nervous System Disorders with Amgen
Monday October 17, 7:00 am ET
MONTVALE, N.J., Oct. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Memory Pharmaceuticals Corp. (Nasdaq: MEMY - News) today announced that it has entered into an exclusive worldwide collaboration and license agreement with Amgen to develop PDE10 inhibitors as human therapeutics, including as a potential treatment for certain neurological and psychiatric disorders. The collaboration will focus on the optimization of lead compounds that the Company has identified and that have demonstrated effectiveness in the selective inhibition of PDE10 activity in several animal models.
Under the collaboration, Memory Pharmaceuticals will receive an upfront payment of $5.0 million, and the Company could also receive significant milestone payments for the successful achievement of research, development, approval and sales events for compounds that progress under the collaboration. In addition, Memory Pharmaceuticals is eligible to receive royalties that will increase with increasing sales levels on worldwide sales of marketed products from the collaboration. Over the next two years of the collaboration, Memory Pharmaceuticals could receive research funding of $5.1 million.
"PDE10 is a very compelling target for treating certain central nervous system disorders, and we are delighted to have Amgen as a partner in our effort to aggressively pursue this target and address the pervasive unmet needs of patients with these disorders," said Jim Sulat, President and Chief Executive Officer of Memory Pharmaceuticals. "In addition, we believe this collaboration is further validation of Memory Pharmaceuticals' solid discovery capabilities."
PDE10 is a class of phosphodiesterases that degrades cAMP and cGMP, molecules that are responsible for improving the function of many different cells in the body, including neurons. By inhibiting PDE10 activity, levels of cAMP and cGMP are increased within neurons, and the ability of these neurons to function properly is thereby improved. PDE10 has been shown to be present at high levels in neurons in areas of the brain that are closely associated with many neurological and psychiatric disorders.

+21.77%....Volume @ 14,600
this stock was up to 3.30 in pre-market, back down a little under $3 now; but I think the news was fanatastic and this should move this stock up a lot higher this week...
Collaboration with Amgen is big news and the upfront $5 million payment is great! Royalties too.
After a little accumulation this stock should pop back up.

Ibotez, you may be right but I see more of a symmetrical triangle here. At today's price, MEMY represents a great risk/reward trade if you buy at the ascending trendline and either use that TL or the most recent low of $2.06 as a stop.
Anyone still messing with this one ?

I've been accumulating this stock for the last two months between 2.39 & 2.45. Last week some volume started showing up and you can see by those 3 white candles that someone is buying this stock. I bring this up now because Fri the bias was to the buy side with the stck actually putting out the interday high in the last 15 minutes. What has me interested is the way the MM posted a close outside the 2.70 bid. It was very important to somebody not to have that close above 2.69. This looks like a stock that has waded through sellers around the 2.62 level. I'm looking for this to take out the 2.75-2.85 Level.
My last post showed those three white candles. Take a look a this, somebody is very quietly buying this stock. Easy downside protection. I own it and can play this by myself.Just thought I'd bring it up again.
I'm experimenting a new technique (probably not new to everyone but it's new to me ;)) with real money, prices must close above MA(08) for me to trigger the trade & printing attractive candlestick on the chart (weekly chart) ;)
So I bought MEMY today @ 2.82 .... Prices has been sitting above MA(08) for several weeks now.. 13 weeks to be exact (Weekly Chart) ....So let's see how this goes, I'll stop my loss if it MEMY close @ $2.60 or below ;)
Here is one example... i'll BUY siri when prices close above MA(08) -->WEEKLY CHART..

I have recently posted on this one on the Previous 3sof board. This week will probably tell us if we're right. I do plan to hold this one unless I get a close under 2.39. No technical reason, that's my cost. I think we're close to some test data and I want to be around.

Stock was clobbered today on the news that one of their pipeline drugs, MEM1003, showed no real results in its Phase 2a bipolar disorder trial. I think the stock was totally oversold today, as treatment for bipolar disorder was an afterthought of the drug, and it's original intention for treatment of Alzheimer's Disease is still being investigated.
Technically, RSI is showing this thing being really oversold. Any thoughts on this thing?
PS. Entered today at 2.16. Probably not a great entry, but I'll ride it out.
TODAY'S RELEASE:
MONTVALE, N.J., March 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Memory Pharmaceuticals Corp. (Nasdaq: MEMY) today announced top-line data from the Phase 2a study of MEM 1003 in acute mania in bipolar disorder, which was conducted with funding support from the Stanley Medical Research Institute. An analysis of the primary and secondary outcome measures in the trial indicated that MEM 1003 did not prove effective for the treatment of bipolar mania. MEM 1003 was safe and generally well-tolerated in the study.
The multi-center, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study evaluated the safety and efficacy of MEM 1003 for the treatment of acute mania in bipolar disorder. Eighty-four subjects were randomized to receive MEM 1003 or placebo for a 21-day treatment period, which was followed by an optional open-label four-week treatment period. The primary outcome measure was a comparison of the percentage of subjects in the placebo and MEM 1003 treatment groups with at least 50% improvement from baseline in the Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS) at 21 days. The secondary outcome measures were the mean change from baseline in the YMRS, the Modified Clinical Global Impression - Bipolar Scale and the Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale at 21 days. None of these outcome measures was achieved.
There were no serious adverse events reported in the MEM 1003 treatment group during the study, in contrast to three serious adverse events of worsening of mania reported in the placebo treatment group. The most commonly reported adverse events in the MEM 1003 treatment arm of the trial were headache, gastrointestinal effects and pruritus (or itching).
"We are obviously disappointed that MEM 1003 did not prove effective in the treatment of mania in our study," said Stephen R. Murray, M.D., Ph.D., Vice President of Clinical Development. "However, the target symptoms and the nature of the assessments in our ongoing Phase 2a study in Alzheimer's disease are very different from those in this mania study, and we do not believe that the negative results in this study are predictive of the effects of MEM 1003 in Alzheimer's disease."
"Memory Pharmaceuticals has completed a high quality study," said Gary S. Sachs, M.D., Associate Professor in Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School and Director, Bipolar Mood Disorder Program at Massachusetts General Hospital and Principal Investigator on the Phase 2a trial of MEM 1003 in bipolar disorder. "Although the maximum dose allowed in the study proved well-tolerated, the results clearly showed no difference in efficacy endpoints at day 21 between MEM 1003 and placebo."
"We are committed to finishing the ongoing Phase 2a study in Alzheimer's disease and expect results in the fourth quarter of this year," said David A. Lowe, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer. "We are currently completing a full analysis of the bipolar results in order to learn as much as we can from this data set."
About MEM 1003
MEM 1003, a CNS-optimized dihydropyridine, is a neuronal L-type calcium channel modulator. MEM 1003 was found to be generally safe and well tolerated in Phase 1a and 1b clinical trials in 125 healthy volunteers in the United Kingdom and a Phase 1b safety and tolerability study in 81 Alzheimer's patients under a U.S. Investigational New Drug Application. The Company is currently conducting a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo- controlled Phase 2a study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of MEM 1003 in Alzheimer's disease.

Memory Pharmaceuticals Completes Enrollment in Phase 2a MEM 1003 Alzheimer's Disease Trial
Thursday April 5, 4:05 pm ET
MONTVALE, N.J., April 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Memory Pharmaceuticals Corp. (Nasdaq: MEMY - News) today announced that it has completed enrollment in its Phase 2a trial of MEM 1003 in Alzheimer's disease. The Company expects to report top-line results for this trial in the fourth quarter of 2007.
"Completion of enrollment in this trial is a key milestone in our Alzheimer's disease programs," said Stephen R. Murray, M.D., Ph.D., Vice President of Clinical Development. "We are excited that the MEM 1003 Phase 2a trial is nearing completion and are focused on reporting top-line results from both this trial, and our ongoing Phase 2a trial of MEM 3454 for Alzheimer's disease, in the fourth quarter of this year."
This Phase 2a clinical trial is a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of two dose levels of MEM 1003 in approximately 180 subjects with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease at over 50 centers in the United States. Subjects participating in the study were randomized at enrollment into one of three treatment groups -- 30 mg of MEM 1003 twice a day, 90 mg of MEM 1003 twice a day or placebo twice a day. During the double-blind treatment segment of the study, subjects receive MEM 1003 or placebo for a period of 12 weeks, which is followed by a four week single-blind placebo treatment. The primary outcome measure of the trial is a twelve-week change in the Alzheimer's Disease Assessment Scale -- Cognitive subscale (ADAS - cog) score. Secondary measures will assess changes in activities of daily living, behavior and global function.
MEM 1003 is a neuronal L-type calcium channel modulator that Memory Pharmaceuticals is developing for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. By blocking L-type calcium channels, MEM 1003 may regulate the flow of calcium and reestablish normal levels of calcium, which may help treat and prevent the onset of Alzheimer's disease.

Memory Shares Hit 52-Week Low on Monday
After Alzheimer's Trial Fails to Meet Endpoint
Shares of Memory Pharmaceuticals Corp. (MEMY) hit a 52-week low on
Monday after a Phase IIa study of MEM 1003 for Alzheimer's disease
failed to meet its primary endpoint, which was a twelve-week mean
change in the Alzheimer's disease Assessment Scale- Cognitive subscale
(ADAS-cog) score in the overall population. There were seven
treatment-emergent serious adverse events in five subjects, including
two deaths. The trial enrolled 183 subjects with mild to moderate
Alzheimer's disease and included monotherapy subjects and subjects
on stable doses of cholinesterase inhibitors. In the subgroup of subjects
receiving cholinesterase inhibitors, the change in ADAS-cog favored
treatment over placebo, although this difference was not statistically
significant. "While we are disappointed that the trial did not meet the
primary endpoint, we are encouraged by the favorable trend seen in the
subgroup of subjects receiving cholinesterase inhibitors," said Stephen
R. Murray, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Medical Officer. Memory Pharmaceuticals
is focused on developing drugs for the treatment of debilitating central
nervous system disorders. Two named drug candidates in its nicotinic
alpha-7 agonist program are MEM 3454 and MEM 63908. A Phase
2a clinical trial of MEM 3454 in Alzheimer's disease is currently being
conducted. The Company plans to commence a Phase 2a clinical trial
of MEM 3454 in cognitive impairment associated with schizophrenia
(CIAS) in the fourth quarter of 2007. Dr. Murray said in a conference call
on Monday, "The recruitment and progress for our MEM 3454 Alzheimer's
study has been extremely satisfactory. We have not experienced
any difficulty in finding subjects, which was more of a problem in the
MEM 1003 trial." As of June 30, 2007, the Company had an accumulated
deficit of $200.9 million and cash of $51.3 million.
Anyone still in MEMY?
I got a few down here, thinking risk/reward is favourable for a swing trade.
Cheers
