One to watch, 'might' be shaping up to break trendline. Bottom of bollinger band bounce, has been creating higher highs and higher lows recently, which implies a move to about $1.35 or so. Also the 200ma's sitting at a key resistance area of $1.50 could also act as an upward magnet/target. Watch list for Tuesday.

wat's up?....big volume today...
humm.... :o
I think i got this watch from Aussie Trader. It is at a 52 Week low. Still learning charts so I was wondering if anyone would give their opinion of this stock. Is it a good time to buy or should we keep watching it.
Thanks,
8)
Hey Jonathan, yep FNSR I remember came up on a scan of mine a little while back. It tried to breakout but got sent back from $1.33 (top of the bollinger band) and then proceeded to breakout support below, that's not good action. I have taken it off my radar as I prefer to look for trend breaks or stocks moving with close support, FNSR has neither for me.
;D Thanks a lot Aussie Trader I appreciate your help. I have been doing some research on the Bolinger Band. It seems like a great tool in charting. I will have to start paying attention to that. Any other good chart tools you can offer.
Thanks, 8)
Go to stockcharts.com and look under their ChartSchool section for charting, techinal analysis and have a read there it is a good resource for understanding indicators of one type or another.

Thanks again i will do that.... ;D
There are 3 threads running for this stock. I have picked this one.
Please compare 1 week charts of TMTA and NVAX when they gapped up... It'll be great if someone could explain this pattern...
Today's chart:
Hey dhiraj19, thx for the question I think Technically EliteG could answer your question about the chart better then I can, to me it could be a good short term play. Fundamentally I like JDSU in this group. I am not in JDSU at this time because it doesnt move that much for now. But if your looking for a good play in this group JDSU is a better long term play. Just my opinion. Dont know if I answered your question or not but gl on the trade if you go for it.
So FNSR. What is it?
Finisar Corporation (FNSR) is a technology leader for fiber optic subsystems and network test and monitoring systems. These products enable high-speed data communications for networking and storage applications over Gigabit Ethernet local area networks (LANs), Fibre Channel storage area networks (SANs), and metropolitan area networks (MANs) Fibre Channel, IP, SAS, SATA and SONET/SDH-based protocols. The Company's headquarters is in Sunnyvale, California, USA. www.Finisar.com.
FNSR is looking great both technically and fundamentally. 3 news releases within the last 10 days that are great, well........ 2 are great and 1 has potential to be FANTASTIC!!
First off they announced that they intend to make the sale of its minority interest in Sensors Unlimited pending the closing of the acquisition of Sensors Unlimited by Goodrich Corporation. For the amount of $60m of wich they'll have a net realized gain of $12m.
Also they released they're financials on the 1st which had revenues up 32% from last year.
Technically this stock rose a hefty 30% ,with large gap, and on heavy volume so there is definate interest in this stock.
DETAILS:
-OPERATING RESULTS-
Total revenues in the first quarter of fiscal 2006 were $81.7 million, up 9% on a sequential basis from $74.9 million in the fourth quarter and 32% from $61.9 million in the first quarter of the prior year. For the fourth consecutive quarter, the Company's revenues set a new all time record. Total revenues from the sale of optical subsystems were $72.4 million in the first quarter, up 12% on a sequential basis from $64.5 million in the fourth quarter and 35% from $53.8 million in the first quarter of the prior year. Sales of network test and monitoring systems were $9.4 million in the first quarter, down 10% on a sequential basis from $10.4 million in the fourth quarter but up 15% from $8.1 million in the first quarter of the prior year.
The Company reported a net loss of $19.1 million, or $0.07 per share, for the first quarter of fiscal 2006, compared to a net loss of $37.8 million, or $0.15 per share, in the fourth quarter and a net loss of $22.1 million, or $0.10 per share, in the first quarter of fiscal 2005. The Company's gross profit for the first quarter was $15.3 million, or 21.1% of total revenues, compared to 15.8% in the fourth quarter and 19.7% in the first quarter of 2005.
The Company's operating results include a number of non-cash and cash charges, principally related to acquisitions, restructuring activities and financing transactions. For the first quarter of fiscal 2006, these items totaled $10.6 million and included, among other items, amortization of acquired developed technology of $5.7 million associated with a number of previous acquisitions, the payment of $1.3 million primarily representing incentive payments to employees of Infineon Technologies A.G. and I-TECH Corporation associated with the transfer of know-how and manufacturing processes related to various recently acquired product lines, and $1.1 million related to the amortization of discount on convertible notes issued in 2001 and 2003. Also included in the current quarter is a non-cash tax provision of $.6 million resulting from timing differences associated with the amortization of goodwill for tax reporting purposes which is not amortized for financial reporting purposes.
The Company excludes these and certain other items for the purpose of tracking its performance on a non-GAAP basis. Non-GAAP gross profit and non-GAAP net income (loss), as reported by the Company, give an indication of the Company's baseline performance before gains, losses or other charges that are considered by management to be outside of our core operating results. The Company's non-GAAP net loss for the first quarter of fiscal 2006 was $8.5 million, or $.03 per share, compared to $12.5 million, or $.05 per share, in the fourth quarter and $14.3 million, or $.06 per share, in the first quarter of the prior year. On a non-GAAP basis, gross profit was $22.6 million, or 27.6% of total revenues, compared to 25.5% in the fourth quarter and 26.1% in the first quarter of the prior year.
"Our progress at the top line this quarter was boosted by having a full quarter of results from the acquisition of the transceiver and transponder product lines of Infineon Technologies A.G.," said Jerry Rawls, Finisar's President and CEO. "Those products accounted for about 40% of our sequential growth in optics revenues. The overall growth in optics revenues more than offset some weakness in our test and monitoring business, which we restructured during the quarter to enhance profitability. We believe that our continuing execution at the top line combined with a number of cost reduction initiatives that are taking place over the next two quarters should put us in a position to achieve our goal of returning to profitability in the near future and becoming profitable on a non-GAAP basis in the third quarter of the current fiscal year. In addition, we were EBITDA positive on a non-GAAP basis in the first quarter and our cash balances remained above $100 million."
And for the $$potential$$ news
Finisar is stating that Agilent technologies has infringed on one of their patents. Finisar is looking to be compensated for loss of sales due to Agilent selling the same technology. Just how much are they claiming they lost in sales? A whopping 1.1 Billion (at least) says Finisar.
Heres a snippet of the article direct from Marketwatch.com
The lawsuit alleges that Agilent refused repeated offers by Finisar to license its digital diagnostics technology. Finisar is seeking a substantial award of damages for lost profits on sales of at least $1.1 billion, a trebling of those damages for willful patent infringement, and injunctive relief to prevent further manufacture, marketing and sale of Agilent transceiver products which incorporate Finisar technology.
"Finisar scientists invented digital diagnostics technology to solve the reliability concerns of the storage industry. Since then, the technology has become standard in the datacom and telecom fields as well. It is an extremely valuable asset of our Company that we have actively sought to license to industry players. Agilent has ignored our requests to engage in a meaningful dialogue. We are determined to protect our investment," said Jerry Rawls, Finisar's President and CEO.
I don't know how much money for damages they can recieve from Agilent, if any, but maybe they'll recieve a u know what load if they have a legitamate case. If say they recieved 31% of their lost sales that would be $350m = FNSR market cap =$350m. Good stuff indeed i must say. As well Finisar will gain more of the Market share of Fiber optics with Agilent not selling their technology anymore which means more revenue, which means more money, which means...................more money....... AND GROWTH=HIGHER STOCK PRICES=MONEY IN MY POCKET :-\ wow im tired its 3:30AM maybe i should go to bed.
BUT WAIT WHAT ABOUT TA??????
ok ok here it is............
ok first of all, FNSR broke out of a decsending trendline on the release of its financials on heavy volume which is a good thing. We like breakouts of decending trendlines. Another thing we like are Bullish Divergences and FNSR has one thats been forming since late 2003! Price action is creeping up on the second longer term decsending trendline which would be and even stronger bullish indicator. I leave you with 3 charts of my analysis. Hope im of any help to anyone as everyone in this community has been a huge help to me. I thank all of you for that.
And as for making an open position i might just have to do so Monday morning. My charts will show my justification for making an entry on monday. Still debating a stop loss point. :o
I'll call this stock a 3 step.
step 1: break first decending trendline(complete)
step 2: break 2nd decending trendline started in late 03' along with the divergence. At this point is where i would think that the Divergence would be ran over by a heard of angry bulls.(pending)
step 3: Grab a beer(maybe even a Bravo Slammer ;D), relax, watch your equity grow!(pending)
:::that says building momentum in green in chart1::::sorry
Hey forgot to show the Bullish Divergence of the Macd- histogram. Here it is!
Ok its 4:16AM now i really should go to bed. Gnight everyone. I'd like to hear opinions from others on this pick as well. Gnight everyone.
as always, best of luck ;D

great all around analysis fousc, really sharp charts (APPLAUD)
I agree that this latest action by the stock is very bullish and a cross of 1.27ish with some volume may be a signal to get in.
Great Stuff 8)

Good luck-

Todays slight pull back on FNSR is perfectly healthy. Price action is forming a nice continuation flag. For anyone interested in this stock and is looking to play it safe. Placeing a buy order on the break out of the flag is your best bet. I believe it will break out of the flag by friday. So lets hope that it does ;D. A break of the flag tomorrow would mean a close above $1.25, not too far away from todays close of 1.22 or 1.23 i believe :) And if it breaks through the long term descending trendline, which is not much higher then the break of the flag, then were looking fantastic! I won't be surprised if it breaks the flag and the trendline on the same day. And i want to be holdind this stock when(if) it does.
Best of luck,

I would like to see this stock take off over the next couple months. Im in @ 1.23. Best of luck for anyone who has a posistion in this stock or plans to hop in tomorrow.

Very good call, dude.
I heard rumours that this stock will go to 1,70-2,40 in the short term and that in the long(2 -5 years) it will reach 5 for sure.
Thought of an exit point already?

Have a stop limit after desired percent gain... :)
I am in from 1.13...if 2.4 is the short term call that suits me real good. ;D
:D :D :D yeah 2,40 would be nice. :D :D :D :
percentage of gain.......depends on the stock but i have a 100% target but will sell half at 1,80.
Or in a couple of months if there is no gain or when it slips back to 1,10-1,13.
youve got to have some rules for yourself.

Great potentials but a heavy float. I got in Monday but wonder if it will last. Thoughts?
Cant say if it'll last... I think both sides have lost direction to move the stock.. ???
I don't think FNSR is out of steam quite yet. Its not suprising to see some profit taking After the break of a long term descending trendline as well as the break of the 200 day EMA yesterday. This company is increasing its sales and continuing to grow. Revenues are doing nothing but increasing. Quarterly revs have been increasing since 01' and this latest quarter is the companies highest revs since 01'. As well As i stated previously their in the middle of seeking significant awards from Agilent Tech for patent infringement and according to Finisar they lost at least 1.1 billion in potential sales due to Agilients infringement on FNSR's patent. Though i'm not saying that they're are going to receieve anything from Agilent. But if they have a legitimate case they can win big. 31% of the 1.1 billion is equal to FNSR's market cap. News of an award like this would make this stock skyrocket.
I believe that it will consolidate for a couple days and continue to keep on keepin on. Though theres always the chance of a false breakout. Lets watchout for it. A close below 1.16 would fill the previous gap could be the sign of a continued down trend. If price action closes below 1.16 i'll cut my losses and get out while i can. I would like to see this stock jump back up to the prior peak of 2.40. The financials are better now then they were then and we've had a bullish breakout on heavy volume. Hopefully it will maintain its momentum for the weeks to come.
And actually i have just redrawn my trendline to make it less sloppy. The price action has not actually closed the descending trend yet. It closed just below it yesterday and opened above it today only to retrace and close below it. Though it did close above the 200 EMA, which is a good thing ;D. i dont know whether to call this good or bad. I guess maybe good cause we actually havn't seen the breakout of the trendline yet and hopefully it will do it on heavy Vol. Or it could be bad because it opened today above the line and closed below it. Maybe a reversal.
Anyways, I still have faith in FNSR and will continue to hold ;D
Best of luck- Fousc
Price action has formed a new ascending trend. My new plan is to hold this stock as long as it closes above that line. Today that line stands at $1.28.
Good luck dhiraj19, 422fwhp, Nightbreed, and anyone else who has a position in FNSR
-fousc
Updated Chart:
Heavy Volume, nice price surge. Looking good if you ask me.
-fousc
Good luck to 422fwhp, Nightbreed and fousc for this share. I dont know if Setravis has position in this.
Short term I think it should go to $2.00.
If JDSU rose then sector is rebounding and both these shares are bound to benefit.
Dhiraj
today we had an upside cross of the 20 and 200 EMA.
Though volume has been steadily decreasing as price action is increasing. This means that the trend could be weakening. So we need to see some higher volume to confirm the strength of the uptrend. Regardless of anything i just said, price action today put a smile on my face. ;D

FNSR looks like ready for more.. I hope i'm not too late get in on monday... there is Major Resistance coming @ 2 ;) goodluck guys..
it should go to 2.
that is my selling point, i stepped in at 1,55.
You can still make a nice ride though.
If we break 2 than very maybe a 2,40 can be seen on the boards the next couple of weeks.
There seems to be something major comming up around 20 nov.

I think...
Nothing more than a healthy retracement down to 1,60 - 1,65 ... before return to bullish trend...
1,60-1,65 is way too far back.

no way it is going back that far.

Well FNSR sure was ready for a turnaround when i first posted on this. I taded it before and lost some money on it. So now i must redeem myself and make my money back. So im buying FNSR tomorrow morning.
Technicals:
Price action broke back above the 2.45 resistence barrier that it had trouble breaking the first time not too long ago.
The ascending tren is solid and is looking to break resistence at 2.65 possibly tomorrow. I'm gonna place a trailing buy order for the open tomorrow hoping to get in on an advance above this point yet also to follow price back down if it retraces from this area.
The fundamental growth for FNSR is looking great. I posted some financial highlights below
Good luck community.
-the fous man
fous,
FNSR pulls back, good day for you to get in.
Slight pullback today not being able to break the resistence of 2.65. Im in at 2.60. Not too worried about today i think we'll see this above 2.65 in the near future.
-fous man
Nice rally today to close back above the resistence levels at 2.65
I'm in a 2.72. I'm really liking the potential we've got here, and I think this might be a good one to hold onto for awhile.
Lots of pressure building up in this 2.70 area. I think this ones gonna pop out of this zone anytime now. Price action is nearing the 13 EMA and ascending trend line. Im aniticapating pps will bounce off these resistence areas and continue its ascent north. An above average volume day would always be nice too ;D

Ya i saw that peter, the director has been on a selling hay day. Not sure why. But i still like the chart and will continue to hold as long as it closes above the red ascending trendline which stands at 2.56 tomorrow.
-fous
ascending trend line barely holding up. Though todays candle formed a doji star which is a bullish indicator. If mondays a white day it will be a morning doji star which is pretty bullish candle pattern. Trendline stands at 2.63 for monday, sell on a close below 2.63.
-fous
Thanks fous.
Nice day today, close at 2.65, 2 cents above the ascending trendline.
Trendline broken. Im out 8)
Up 11 cents after hours, I'm staying put :P
I didn't see any news annouced, so I'm not sure why, 11 cents is pretty unusual. While it may not predict market activity tomorrow, I can't really complain. >:D

I made the mistake of selling this one a bit too early several weeks ago. Recently price action is looking great. Todays candle wasnt looking too attractive as a doji, But its currently up 15% in AH to 3.38 from todays close at 2.90.

Wall Street expected Finisar to report break-even income on revenue of $90 million. Finisar Shares Surge After 3Q Results
Friday March 3, 1:51 pm ET
Finisar Shares Skyrocket After 'Blowout' Third-Quarter Results
NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of Finisar Corp. soared 45 percent to their highest level in more than two years after the maker of fiber-optic network equipment posted a better-than-expected profit in its third fiscal quarter following a year-ago loss.
"Finisar delivered a blowout fiscal third quarter, with strong quarter-over-quarter revenue growth, which when combined with a sequential improvement in margins, resulted in a huge surge in profitability," wrote Needham analyst John Harmon in client note upgrading the company to "Strong Buy" from "Buy," and doubling his price target to $6.
On Thursday, the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company said Thursday it swung to a profit of 3 cents per share for the quarter, above Wall Street's estimates of breakeven results, as expenses declined and sales climbed past the company's guidance. A year ago in third quarter, Finisar reported a loss of 15 cents per share, or a loss of 4 cents a share excluding items.
The quarter's surge in profitability, Harmon wrote, has been more than three years in the making, including when the company took "controversial steps" such as acquiring an offshore facility and buying its own fab and laser supplies.
Shares jumped $1.31, or 45 percent, to $4.22 in afternoon trading on the Nasdaq, to their highest in more than two years. The stock has traded between 70 cents and $2.97 in the past 52 weeks, and hasn't closed above $4 since January 2004.
Harmon raised his fiscal 2006 estimates to 3 cents per share on sales of $362 million, from his prior estimate of a penny-per-share loss on sales of $353 million. Analysts, on average, are expecting a loss of a penny per share on sales of $352.2 million, according to a Thomson Financial poll.
For 2007, the analyst said he now expects earnings of 16 cents per share on sales of $434 million, compared with a prior view of 8 cents per share on revenue of $413 million. On average, analysts are looking for earnings of 7 cents per share on revenue of $409.9 million.
RBC Capital Markets analyst Thomas Curlin maintained a "Sector Perform" rating on the company, and boosted his target price to $3 from $1.50.
Finisar, he wrote in a client note, stands to benefit from "more favorable optics market currents," brought on in part by the spinoff of Agilent Technologies Inc.'s semiconductor operations.

It is due for a pullback
Hello,
Is FNSR forming a kind of ascending triangle or is just forming a new base. The 50MA provides a nice support below these candles. By looking at the weekly chart, the risk-reward ratio suggests nice profits once it successfully breaks the 5.25 area. The BOP is nice and green.
One of my concerns is the insider selling that has been going on since the beginning of the year. I am afraid this could keep the stock just hanging around the same prices. I was thinking to place an order once it breaks the resistance.
any ideas??
thank you in advance for any input.

Finisar Awarded Additional Damages in Patent Infringement Case Against DIRECTV
Friday July 7, 7:00 am ET
SUNNYVALE, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--Jul 7, 2006 -- Finisar Corporation (NASDAQ:FNSR - News), a technology leader in gigabit fiber optic solutions for high-speed data networks, today reported that it has been awarded additional post-verdict damages by a federal district court against the DIRECTV satellite television company in a patent infringement case.
As previously reported, a Beaumont, Texas jury rendered a decision on June 23, 2006 that found DIRECTV and its affiliated companies were directly, literally and willfully infringing upon Finisar's information transmission patent and awarded a $78.9 million verdict in back damages to Finisar. On July 6, 2006, the court determined that, due to DIRECTV's willful infringement, those damages would be enhanced by an additional $25 million. Further, the court awarded Finisar prejudgment interest on the jury's verdict in the amount of 6% compounded annually from April 4, 1999 (which currently totals about $12 million) and, although denying an injunction, the court ordered DIRECTV to pay a compulsory ongoing license fee to Finisar at the rate of $1.60 per set-top box through the duration of the patent which expires in April 2012. In court testimony, DIRECTV's damages expert estimated its 2006 sales of new set-top boxes at 15 million units.
At issue in the case was Finisar's U.S. Patent No. 5,404,505 (the '505 patent). The methods found within the '505 patent were invented by Finisar's co-founder, Dr. Frank Levinson, who filed a patent application in 1991. The patent addresses unique ways to transmit and broadcast digital information to a wide base of subscribers.

Market Leader Has Shipped More Units in the Data Communications Market Than All Other Manufacturers Combined; CEO Honors Valued Customer and Employees at Facility Expansion Ceremony in Allen, Texas
ALLEN, TX--(MARKET WIRE)--Oct 10, 2006 -- Finisar Corporation (NASDAQ:FNSR - News), a technology leader in gigabit fiber optic solutions for high-speed data networks, today announced the shipment of its 50 millionth vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser, or VCSEL. Finisar's VCSELs, manufactured by the company's Advanced Optical Component (AOC) division, are semiconductor lasers used by some of the world's largest companies to power high-speed fiber optic data communications. The company marked this industry milestone by honoring HP -- the recipient of the 50 millionth VCSEL -- at a ribbon-cutting ceremony held today at Finisar's newly renovated optics manufacturing facility in Allen, Texas [see separate press release, http://www.marketwire.com/mw/release_html_b1?release_id=170301].

"Finisar's Advanced Optical Component division is the leading VCSEL supplier to the communications industry so there's no company better suited to take this technology into the new era," said Jerry Rawls, chairman of the board, president and CEO, Finisar. "While we are certainly proud of the number of VCSELs Finisar has shipped worldwide, we are perhaps most proud of the quality and reliability of the product itself. This achievement not only demonstrates Finisar's leadership position in the VCSEL market, but also serves as an example of the growing ubiquity of fiber optics in our data networks."
Explosive bandwidth demands for new applications -- including IPTV, IP Video, video over wireless networks and HDTV -- combined with the global adoption of Fibre Channel and Ethernet standards have driven VCSEL demand to record levels. Finisar VCSELs are deployed by its customers for numerous data communication applications and hold great promise for being used in consumer electronics, position-sensing and automotive applications. Finisar VCSELs deliver superior reliability, low drive current, high coupled power, narrow and circularly symmetric beam and versatile packaging options, including arrays.
"This is an extraordinary achievement for Finisar," said Edward Flynn, Director of SAN Infrastructure, StorageWorks Division, HP, who was on hand to receive the 50 millionth VCSEL from Finisar CEO, Jerry Rawls. "We continue to be impressed with the quality and performance of Finisar's optical products, which help enable us to deliver secure and reliable storage networking solutions to our customers."

Eighteen Acre, State-of-the-Art Production Facility Constructed to Feed Increasing Demand for Advanced Fiber Optics; Allen, Texas Mayor Joins Finisar CEO at Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
ALLEN, TX--(MARKET WIRE)--Oct 10, 2006 -- At a ribbon-cutting ceremony held today in Allen, Texas, Finisar Corporation (NASDAQ:FNSR - News), a technology leader in gigabit fiber optic solutions for high-speed data networks, unveiled its newly expanded, state-of-the-art fiber optics manufacturing facility. Hundreds of attendees were on hand to take part in the unveiling, including Finisar chairman, president and CEO Jerry Rawls, Allen, Texas Mayor Steve Terrell, Finisar employees, customers and select members of the press. Spanning eighteen acres within the Millennium Technology Park in Allen, the 160,000 square foot building features metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) reactors and automated assembly for Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VCSELs).
"We are extraordinarily proud of our employees in Texas and around the world who have worked so hard to make this expansion possible," said Jerry Rawls, chairman of the board, president and CEO, Finisar. "Finisar's legendary passion for performance combined with this newly expanded, state-of-the-art facility will enable us to power more of our customers' new and exciting technology applications, including video on demand, HDTV and mobile computing."
The Allen manufacturing site currently employs over 300 employees and ships hundreds of thousands of laser and sensor products each week. Finisar invested more than $13 million during the past fifteen months renovating the facility, refurbishing a second reactor, installing a second wafer fabrication line and implementing new assembly and test equipment. This investment supports the upgrade of Storage Area Networks products from 2Gbit/second to 4Gbit/second as well as the rollout of 10Gbit/second products for Local Area Networks (LANs).
"Finisar has worked hard to establish itself as a leader in the optics space, and this new facility is further proof of our success," said Joseph Young, senior vice president and general manager, Optics Group, Finisar. "We are confident that the newly renovated facility will enable us to not only meet, but exceed production expectations -- allowing Finisar to supply products to our customers and meet the ever-growing demand for bandwidth while continuing to be the gold-standard for quality in the industry."
Finisar acquired Honeywell International's VCSEL Optical Products business in March 2004, strengthening its position as a leading supplier of high-speed fiber optic data communication products. Commercial production of VCSELs began in 1996 as part of Honeywell Labs. Finisar's Advanced Optical Component (AOC) division was created as an autonomous unit at the time of acquisition. Over the last ten years, the AOC division has shipped over 50 million lasers, a major milestone for the industry, establishing itself as the market leader within the data communications sector.

;D :D
Even if this is a Bear Channel, it looks like FNSR wants to get to that gap. If Leg CD equals Leg AB, or anywhere close, the gap will get filled.
Good luck!
Good stuff.... ;) :D
All important moving averages are below the price, that means less pressure :D ;D
Fous' Symmetrical Triangle (pattern in blue):
1. Broke out on October 9
2. Reversed back below the breakout on October 10
3. Tagged the bottom of the pattern on October 11, then bounced
4. Broke out again on October 12
5. Opened at the top of the pattern on October 13, then moved higher
6. Gapped away to the upside yesterday, on good volume
4.58 is IN PLAY, where Leg CD = Leg AB
4.88 is IN PLAY from the Symmetrical Triangle breakout
What does today's price action suggest, anyone.

This is best time to add more shares, FNSR is retesting the trendline ;)
I'm liking the set-up for FNSR, the 50sma is supporting the price very neatly in weekly scale while forming a bullish Ascending triangle ;)

I'm looking for entry point, FNSR is showing a bullish formation & Bullish weekly MACD crossover above zero level, but I'm just a little bit concern about the distribution indicator fell below the red line in weekly chart ??? let's see what will happen in the next few weeks.

JDSU's Huge December Quarter Triggers Optical Stock Frenzy...
During the original Internet bubble, some of the most egregious stock market valuations came in shares of optical networking equipment providers. Thanks to the emergence of a large number of competitive local exchange carriers and various other new telcos, demand for optical networking gear soared – until it became apparent that the telecom industry's construction frenzy had created a gigantic bandwidth glut. The CLEC's gradually disappeared, and the optical stocks subsequently fizzled, and demand dried up.
No stock had a more spectacular rise in that period than JDSU (JDSU), which at one point had a market cap of $125 billion, before staging one of the greatest stock collapses of all time. But JDSU has been through a mammoth restructuring process, and lately has seen a resurgence in demand – the bubble era excess capacity has been soaked up, and then some. The latest evidence comes in the form of JDSU's earnings report for the fiscal second quarter ended January 1.
For the quarter, JDSU reported $477.2 million in revenue on a non-GAAP basis, or $473.5 million on a GAAP basis, ahead of the Street consensus at $437.7 million. Non-GAAP profits of 29 cents a share beat the Street by a dime. Gross margin expanded to 48.8%, from 47.4% in the previous quarter, and 44.6% a year ago.
For the March quarter, the company sees revenue of $440 million to $460 million, nicely ahead of the old Street consensus at $420.75 million.
"In fiscal Q2 JDSU reported record revenues, gross margin and operating margin, which exceeded our operating model target," CEO Tom Waechter said in a statement. "This is an exciting time for JDSU. Our market drivers are strong, our innovation engine and pipeline for new products is robust, and we continue to increase our operating leverage."
Update: As a number of Street analysts point out Friday morning, JDSU has changed its target margins structure: the company is now targeting gross margins of at least 49% and operating margins of 14%-17%; the old model was gross margins of at least 46% and operating margins of 11%-14%. The revised model is no doubt adding to investor enthusiasm for the shares.
On the news, JDSU shares have spiked in after-hours trading. Meanwhile, Opnext (OPXT), another optical equipment company, also reported better-than-expected results this afternoon. The result: the entire sector is headed higher, as carrier spending on network expansion projects begins to payoff for their equipment suppliers.
•JDSU is up $3.27, or 18.2%, to $21.20.
•Finisar (FNSR) is up $1.90, or 5.5%, to $36.33.
•Olcaro (OCLR) is up 67 cents, or 4.7%, to $15.
•Oplink (OPLK) is up 63 cents, or 2.4%, to $26.80.
•Opnext (OPXT) is up 27 cents, or 13.6%, to $2.26.
