bought @ .77, has jumped right into its resis line out of nowhere. I think it could run. I'll put the chart up later.
LJPC - La Jolla Pharmaceutical Company, a biopharmaceutical company, engages in the research and development of specific therapeutic products for the treatment of certain life-threatening antibody-mediated diseases in the United States.
NEWS: La Jolla Pharmaceutical Co., a biotechnology company, on Tuesday said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has given "fast track" designation for its experimental treatment for lupus renal disease, but warned it does not have enough resources to continue operating unless it receives more funding.
Got in @ 0.70....Do you think we have something cooking eliteG???
:o
i think we do...85cents AH :o
so far, I think, we are doin all right setravis.. would really like this midpoint to hold.
We shall see how it pans out tomorrow.
I do think we may have caught one. :o
Good luck with your trade eliteG.
eliteG.....Things are heating up!!!! ;D
I have sold my LJPC today a bit above breakeven because I needed more funds for IFLB.ob... doin real well for me. I feel LJPC could get stuck here for a while but goodluck setravis.
eliteG,Looks like you pulled the trigger to soon.
Are still hanging with IFLB.ob.How's it doing today.
I also stuck with LRLSQ. David sold it Friday.
I like the nice move up LJPC has made today. :o
I see my LJPC IS UP A BIT....That makes me happy! ;D
its pretty, way to stay in. ;)
Thanks eliteG...... I didn't give up the ship.
Good luck with your trades........ ;)
I have been following LJPC for a while, and it feels like it has the makings for a very good run up in the short term, with long term potential too.
They have just been granted "Fast track" status to develop the only Lupus treatment drug.
They used to trade in the $5.00 range, and were denied fast track over a year ago, and recenlty were trading as low as $.40, they sit now at $.80 and have been over $1.00 in the last couple weeks.
I think a run to $1.50 is likely, and if they get financing for their new drug, MUCH higer is likely. Any thoughts?
Just be carefull, I think the company said it is seeking additional financing, and it only had funds for six months or so.
Need to pump up the Volume....
It's been tough to hang with.Got that resistance @ the $1.00
Any thoughts ...anyone????
I own a position in this stock too -- if/when the company gets financing for their new Lupus drug, this one will fly.
When they announce it, this should pop 100% very fast.
I had a post on this stock, but I can't seem to find it.
Anyways looks good today. A falling wedge ,possible breakout.
Are you Ready to Rumble?
$1.00 is the resistance for this share, which is getting tougher and tougher to cross.....
It is always difficult to go from 2 figures to 3 figures... ;)
If it breaks then I think the chart should have line which goes from below to above showing how much it can rise... rather than blue line showing $1.00 to $.75. ;)
Dhiraj
setravis..you may have nailed the timing on this sucker.. >:D jolly good show, :D lol(applaud)
There are rumors of a financing partner to be announced soon, if that happens this stock will FLY.
;D
Nice work. I am new to this and I have put together my own method in picking stocks by reading the intelligence of some members. I was about to post this chart but found this thread so I will post anyways. Just for practice. From my own observation and correct me if I am wrong but I beleive the resistance is 1.00 ? If so is everyone going to wait for this stock to pass this resistance and develop a new support?
Any other feedback on why this is a good pick or not?
:)
Have a look at the LJPC charts. :o
Could be a nice ride for the coming days.
Can someone post that chart? I use one but it is not very good. Thank you
I can see the chart now. It looks great. However, there is always a lot of manipulation with this stock.
The trend sure looks like it.....

Sellling pressure resumed today and made the stock price go down. It has tried its best to break $1.00 but hasnt been able to do that...
I think if it goes below 0.85, its a sell to limit the losses on buy above 0.85
Any thoughts or comments appreciated.

yes dhiraj19 - 0.75 been support for 2 months. 50-day EMA moving up and now at 0.80 so stock could be bought in this range with stop below support or wait for a high volume break out at $1.
One way is to use partial buys - partial sells so could buy a little here and add if trade goes in your direction and on a break out sell some. Note the 200-day EMA at 1.16 - this is also the point the gap gets filled so may be resistance.

La Jolla Pharmaceutical Company Receives Nasdaq Extension and Completes Reverse Stock Split
Wednesday December 21, 5:00 pm ET
SAN DIEGO, Dec. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- La Jolla Pharmaceutical Company (Nasdaq: LJPC - News) announced today that Nasdaq has granted it an extension of time to comply with Nasdaq's minimum bid price rule. The extension period will allow additional time for the closing price of the Company's common stock to be at least $1.00. If the closing price is at least $1.00 for a minimum of 10 consecutive trading days on or before January 6, 2006, the Company will regain compliance with the minimum bid price rule and maintain its Nasdaq National Market listing.
The Company also announced today that it has completed its previously announced one-for-five reverse stock split. The reverse stock split was proposed, among other matters, to enable the Company to comply with the Nasdaq minimum bid price rule and was approved by the Company's stockholders on December 12, 2005 at a special meeting of stockholders.

Effective upon the opening of the market on December 22, 2005, the Company's shares of common stock will trade on a post-reverse stock split basis on The Nasdaq National Market.

La Jolla Shares Up on Study Results
Thursday March 8, 4:39 pm ET
La Jolla Shares Rise After Positive Results From Lupus Drug Trial
NEW YORK (AP) -- La Jolla Pharmaceutical Co. stock rose Thursday after the company reported positive results from a late stage study of Riquent, a treatment for the autoimmune disorder lupus.
Shares of La Jolla rose 97 cents, or 31 percent, to close at $4.13 on the Nasdaq Stock Market. Shares traded as high as $4.81, below the 52-week high of $5.40 set last March.
Interim results from a Phase III trial showed that higher doses of Riquent to treat systemic lupus erythematosus showed a greater reduction in certain antibodies -- a sign of clinical improvement -- than lower doses or a placebo in 101 patients.
This is a boon for the company, which found the drug -- its leading product -- wasn't sufficiently effective at lower doses.
"Higher doses also appear to result in a larger percentage of patients having greater and more consistent antibody reductions over time," La Jolla Chief Executive Deirdre Y. Gillespie said.
The positive results in the higher doses make it more likely that the ongoing Phase III trial will show positive clinical results, she said. In addition, Riquent so far has been well tolerated in the trial.
Data will be presented at the 8th International Congress on systemic lupus erythematosus in Shanghai in May.
Lupus, a chronic inflammatory disease that can cause organ malfunction, affects roughly 1.5 million people in the United States, 90 percent of whom are women.
Several drug makers are in advanced stage trials for lupus drugs. To date, no specific lupus drug has been approved in the United States.

La Jola Shares Continue To Surge: Caution is Warranted
Monday March 12, 12:31 pm ET
Ant & Sons submits: La Jolla Pharmaceutical Company (NasdaqGM: LJPC) reported Thursday positive interim antibody results from its ongoing double-blind, placebo-controlled randomized Phase 3 trial of Riquent, the company's drug candidate for systemic lupus erythematosus. The greater reductions in antibodies to dsDNA observed with these higher doses of Riquent imply a greater probability of obtaining positive clinical results from the Phase 3 trial.
Two years ago, the FDA gave approval for Riquent, but then requested additional tests to prove efficacy. Lupus, a chronic inflammatory disease that can cause organ malfunction, affects roughly 1.5 million people in the United States. Jill Buyon, M.D., Professor of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine added that "these are highly encouraging data which should attract attention from the lupus community since a reduction in antibodies to dsDNA is a biomarker we associate with clinical improvement."
Following the news, analysts at Pacific Growth said Friday that the company's lupus drug Riquent is likely to achieve significant results from primary endpoint in ongoing trial with top-line data seen in 2009. The firm believes the potential for United States sales of the drug as high as $378M. As a result, Pacific Growth upgraded shares of La Jolla from "neutral" to "buy."
Today, the stock is trading higher on pure momentum by $1.53, or 25.89%, to $7.44 on heavy volume of 2.5 million shares. Despite the recent news, investors should be cautious because the stock has now seen double digit percent gains in the past three trading sessions. On Thursday, the stock was higher by 24%, on Friday it was higher by 31%, and today La Jolla shares are up by another 24%.

La Jolla Pharma Climbs, Gets Upgrade
Monday March 12, 4:18 pm ET
La Jolla Pharmaceuticals Upgraded on Trial Results for Lupus Drug; Shares Surge 30 Percent
NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of La Jolla Pharmaceutical Co. shot to a two-year high Monday after a Pacific Growth Equities analyst said data from a clinical trial of Riquent, its lupus treatment, was better than expected.
Analyst Liana Moussatos upgraded La Jolla shares to "Buy" from "Neutral." On Thursday, the San Diego-based company reported that lupus patients treated with 300 milligrams or 900 milligrams of Riquent per week showed significantly more improvement than those treated given just 100 milligrams per week.
"We believe this is significant as 100 mg was the highest dose tested in previous pivotal studies and the level of antibody reduction achieved with 900 mg has been correlated with potential clinical benefit," Moussatos said. We anticipate a potential top-line data release in early 2009, launch in early 2010 and potential peak U.S. sales of about $378 million."
Shares of La Jolla Pharmaceuticals gained $1.79, or 30.3 percent, to close at $7.70 on the Nasdaq Stock Market, having hit a new high of $8.14 earlier in the session. Previously, the stock traded in a 52-week range of $2.77 and $6.85.

Shorted LJPC today @ 6.95 >:D. LJPC has a bad history of dilution to fund its operations. I dont think LJPC will be above 6 for long >:D.
Phase III drug awaits approval.......
has a drug in phase III for FDA approval which, if approved, would be the only drug available for renal lupus, a disease that afflicts up to 1.5 million people in this country alone.
This play is intriguing because the insiders are snapping up shares with their own money. This tells me that they are confident about their drug getting FDA approval.
Furthermore, a recent secondary stock offering was issued, and it was over-subscribed by the underwriters, which indicates that demand is strong for this stock.
Counting directors and venture capital funds, a total of $31 million of stock has been purchased just in this month alone (April). Most of the stock was purchased at around $6.00, and within days, the stock reached $8.48 (on 4/10), but the secondary diluted the stock down to $7.10 or so...
The P&F chart points to a price objective of nearly $20!!! AG Edwards just issued a "Buy" rating a few days ago with a price objective of $11....it seems like pretty good value here, although any bad news from the FDA could seriously hammer the price down.
MACD remains in positive territory, despite the recent dilution, and the price has remained stable enough in recent days.
Still, I think everything is setting up for a "Home Run" on LJPC. JMHO of course....... ;)
