Today, it has alliances with global players like Verisign, Cisco Systems, Global Crossing, Asia Netcom, Btn Access, and Refco.

My stock pick is: CRYSTALLEX INTL CP (AMEX: KRY)
I found this Company when 3StocksonFire was heavy into gold stocks this Fall. The Company's stock took a dramatic drop in Sept. on the news:
Chavez: Gov't Will Nix Mining Licenses
Thursday September 22, 12:43 pm ET
Chavez Says Gov't Will Cancel All Mining Licenses, Stop Issuing New Ones to Foreign Cos.
CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said his government will cancel all mining licenses and stop issuing new ones to foreign companies.
Chavez's remark in a speech late Wednesday expanded on his past statements that the government would eliminate licenses, or concessions, on stalled mining projects or those that violate the law.
"I want to tell the country I've decided, after looking at this and that, to cancel all mining concessions.
Then the good news came out:

Venezuela Will Not Cancel Mining Licenses of Foreign Companies Abiding Law, Lawmaker Says
CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) -- Foreign companies abiding by Venezuelan law will not have their mining licenses canceled by the government, a Venezuelan lawmaker said Friday.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said Wednesday that his government had decided to cancel all mining licenses and stop issuing new ones to foreign companies, accusing them of gaining rights to mines and leaving them idle.
And more good news,

Venezuelan Lawmakers Back Mining Permit

Venezuelan Lawmakers Call for Government to Grant Mining Permits to Canada's Crystallex
CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) -- Venezuelan lawmakers called for the government to grant permits to Canadian company Crystallex International Corp. so that it can begin mining the country's largest gold mine. "It's urgent that (the government) grants the respective permits," members of Congress concluded in a special mining report dated Oct. 4 that was posted on the Venezuelan National Assembly's Web site. Venezuela has said it will turn over idle mines to small-scale miners as part of a review of all mining concessions and contracts. The Canadian company has said it is awaiting an environmental permit to begin production at the Las Cristinas mine.
My plan is to sell at the resistance level of around 3.90 to 4.00(On a yearly chart) and/or at the news release Environmental permit granted to begin production at the Las Cristinas mine.(the permit could be granted prior to the start of the stock picking contest). I still have five days to the start!
I bought in @ 1.50, I'm sitting on a good return at this point! I believe the trend is bullish, And, will continue to increase.
Market cap: 419.61 M
KRY is currently above the 20 and 50 day EMA and just below the 100 day EMA

DOC - Digital Angel is my pick
Reasons for the pick:
DOC has both characteristics of mania and value growth.
1) U.S. Senate is getting involved to urge the USDA to employ RFID technology in both beef and poultry tracking. Regulators are pushing for a National ID System. Also, Japan is lifting it's 2-year ban on importing U.S. beef.
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/051130/law061.html?.v=36
2) The stock recently experienced a high volume day, due to the news (see chart) and has experienced a series of hammer support sessions after the news. The 50 DMA has been crossed on high volume.
3) The market cap is a little high at $140MM, but revenues have been increasing each year and is on the verge of profitability. In fact, take out R&D expenditures and they are profitable.
4) DOC is also considered an aid in the bird-flu fight.
http://biz.yahoo.com/bizj/051205/1199134.html?.v=1
5) Pet indentification commercials are beginning to appear on television stations, which marks the opening of a new market that hasn't been commercially viable until now.

Stock Pick: Middleby (MIDD)
I don't enjoy the whiplash experienced with most micro-caps or high beta stocks (thus my pick of KOMG last month). Like Komag last month, I've already purchased Middleby (MIDD) in my personal account, and it seems to be out of the gates before the start of the race... I am sitting on a nice 7% gain already. Still, I will pick it for the contest.
Reasons for the pick:
(Reason 0) Market cap of $641 million. No whiplash. Check.
(Reason 1) I agree with Jim Jubak's assessment of possible sector rotation going into 2006 in his article entitled, "5 stocks ready to ring in 2006" http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/P137243.asp
(Reason 2) The point is to be ahead of the game. Once I find a sector that is not receiving a whole lot of attention, I look for (a) value - I don't invest in highly overvalued companies, (b) either good performance that shows no sign of slowing (the stock price is not taking a major dive) or indication that the stock chart sucks worse than imaginable and might be improving soon, (c) some sort of smaller news that indicates all is going as planned.
-----
(a) Here is the value:
2006 expected earnings between $4.36 and $4.60 per share. Recently revised upwards by 6 analysts to a mean of $4.49/share. This gives me a forward P/E of about 18. I like. Quarterly revenue growth is 14.6% year over year.
(b) Performance (see chart below)
(c) Smaller, good news keeps coming out:
http://www.fool.com/News/mft/2005/mft05120806.htm?source=eptyholnk303100&logvisit=y&npu=y
Anticipated news (personally anticipated news that could give the stock a boost):
Possible announcement of a stock split
Hint of future dividends (est. 2007-2008)
...and a nice bonus: High short interest: 12.6% of the float was short as of Nov 10th (wish I had Dec. numbers). Short ratio of 7.7.
And here's the chart:
Stock: SIR / Sirva Incorporated
Sirva is a recovering blow up with accounting restatements behind it. Majority owner is CD&R and they drove a rollup in the moving / relocation industry. Primary product historically was traditional relocation. Sirva owns North American, Allied, Pickfords in the UK and others. Sirva is driving a back to basics model with sales ongoing of non core product areas such as insurance, records storage and others.
The primary product going forward is the fixed fee relocation product with an outsourced angle for corporate HR departments. The product is a soup to nuts risk free product for corporations moving mid and senior level employees on an annual basis. Sirva will take over all the events affecting an employee relocation including buying the employees home and taking all risks from the client in disposing of the home. This allows the corporate client to outsource the complete relocation process to Sirva for a fee fixed cost to the client.
Revenues in the fixed fee segment are growing rapidly while the traditonal relocation product is growing moderately. Margins are strong and growing in the fixed fee product. FCF is strong with the elimination of the non core product areas.
Stock price was mid 20's before the blow up and is now at the tipping point of recovery in the mid 7's.
1) Stock Pick: -------------- DROOY Drdgold Ltd (NASDAQ SC)
2) Reason behind this pick
we are in for a big gold bull market that is already out performing all the other market sectors, and likely to continue to do so in 2006.
Whereas most of the North American gold stocks have been rising consistently for the past three years the South Africans, due to the strong Rand, have been in huge sideways trading ranges. They are just breaking upside out of these range bound situations and are likely to produce a far superior performance to their North American counterparts for the next phase.
Elliott moves in a series of repeating five waves with a corrective wave in between each set of five waves. when the market entered wave 3 we can expect fireworks on the upside. That is exactly where we are on the JSE Gold index at this point of time.
Goldfields is a typical example of this picture. It has recently broken upside against the XAU and HUI gold indexes indicating a superior strength for the foreseeable future. The same strength data applies to Harmony and Anglogold. DROOY looks even better. There is a reverse head and shoulders pattern that is currently forming the right shoulder. A break above the neckline resistance at $1.50 indicates an upside to $2.40 as the short term target.

1) Stock Pick: HDY - Hyperdynamics Corp. AMEX 2.150
2) Reason behind this pick:
Fundamentals :
Hyperdynamics Corporation. The Group principal activity is to provide oil and gas company services such as seismic data management and conversion of seismic data from tape media to modern media, such as DVD computer technology. During the year the Group acquired, HYD Resources Corp.
News :
The company obtained the rights to drill for oil off the West African coast in a deal with the Republic of Guinea. The stock traded extremely well when seismic data and core samples indicated a high probability of significant hydrocarbon reserves. In a weird twist of bad luck, HDY was refused a permit when they applied to drill test wells, and notified their arrangement with Guinea was off. Well, apparently, it's back on, and the stock has been trading very well. It could be good for a trade, and has a lot of potential longer term.
Hyperdynamics Receives Letter From The Republic of Guinea; The Vice President Returns to Guinea to Meet With Officials
12/8/2005 10:00:02 AM
HOUSTON, Dec 08, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Hyperdynamics Corporation's (HDY) SCS Corporation (SCS) has received an official letter from the Government of Guinea.
In the letter, the Government graciously apologized for the delays in the handling of our situation. They communicated the sincere desire to make our working relationship transparent and open. They also communicated that they consider this to be extremely important and in the best interest of both the United States of America and The Republic of Guinea. In response to this letter, Mr. Famourou Kourouma, Vice President for Guinea Affairs, is returning immediately to Guinea to meet with officials.
Since September Mr. Kourouma has worked to clean up and rectify the problems caused by the fraudulent actions of Joseph Delawa and USOil. In June of this year the company requested a permit to drill four (4) exploration wells. The request for the permits was never delivered to the Government and a fraudulent termination letter was forwarded to USOil and subsequently to the company. Mr. Kourouma has since advised all levels of Government as to the conspiracy and SCS has applied directly for a permit. It is Mr. Kourouma's mission to assert the company's rights and to advance the company's drilling program by obtaining those drilling permits either under the existing 2002 PSA or possibly by signing a new one.
Mr. Kourouma stated, "In all my many meetings with various Government officials we have been given tremendous support. It has been consistently expressed to me that we are the company to do the work and they desire us to continue."
Kent Watts, Hyperdynamics' Chief Executive Officer, said, "Through our in-country team of Guinea nationals, led by Mr. Kourouma, we're building an ever closer relationship with the Guinea Government. The strong relationship we are building now will be the foundation that will allow us to succeed in our exploration efforts. I am very excited that the Government contacted us at this time and am optimistic about Famourou's return to Guinea."

quotation from link:
Fundamental Quantitative Analysis:
There are so many reasons to like American Oriental Bioengineering, in fact if there were a single Chinese stock out there that I would recommend, it would be American Oriental Bioengineering. American Oriental Bioengineering has been a major story of the summer, a story which has started to turn heads on wallstreet just a little bit. AOB hit a 52-week low back in May, $1.02, at that point people seemed to realize that here you had a company which between years of 2002-2004 had a record of increasing revenues from $10.2 million for the full year 2002, to 32.0 million in 2004, an increase of 213% in 2 years.
The company has diluted the share pool over this 2-year period, EPS growth is more modest but still astounding. EPS grew from 0.106 to 0.231, this represents at 118% increase in EPS for the period, or a compound annual growth rate of 48%. This is an amazing story of value creation. Let us assume that they can maintain this growth, this would imply that if their P/E ratio remains static, that you will get a 48% return on investment. This high rate of growth makes AOB very attractive to growth oriented investors.
Value investors should also find AOB to be a very attractive buy. There is only one analyst covering the stock, William Lyons of Westminster Securities. He estimates earnings at $15,400,000 for the year. Including the dilution of the recent private placement, AOB will have 56.5 million shares outstanding, there are also 3.83 million warrants outstanding (60.3 million diluted). This puts EPS at $0.273 cents per share ($0.255 diluted), and at yesterday's closing price of 4.43, represents a forward 2005 P/E ratio of 16.23 (17.37 diluted). While this is by no means the same bargain it was back at $1.02, this company is still selling for cheap. Consider the following, as of July 29, 2005, the P/E of the S&P 500 was 20.26, according to analyst estimates this represents a forward 2005 P/E ratio of 18.06. These figures were taken from the Standard and Poor's website. The growth of the S&P earnings may break double-digits this year, but will not be more than 15%, yet it is trading at a forward P/E premium compared to a company with excellent management and a significantly higher growth rate. This does not make sense, and I consider AOB to be significantly undervalued.
AOB is one of the premier Chinese stocks being traded on US exchanges today, in terms of Chinese small caps it is one of the blue chips. As such, AOB is dual listed on the American Stock Exchange and the Pacific Stock Exchange and its Arca-Ex affiliate. Its options are also traded on the Pacific stock exchange, though they are quite expensive, and I'd much rather just own the stock. Pursuant to listing on these exchanges, AOB has more stringent corporate governance standards than many Chinese companies listed on other exchanges.
&
Strategic Vision and Key Developments
AOB hopes to execute a 2 pronged growth strategy. Firstly, they will seek organic growth through more extensive cross-selling and penetration of existing markets. Their retail outlet in Hong Kong is an example of a large potential contributor of organic growth going forward. Management sees their distribution network as a key success factor and seeks to leverage and expand this asset going forward. AOB currently has more than 10,000 points of sale, which they hope to grow to 20,000 within a year.
Secondly, AOB also seeks to grow through acquisition by purchasing proven products and greater distribution capabilities; integration of these will lead to growth of the top and bottom line. Management feels that they are well positioned to take advantage of accretive acquisitions through the privatization of state assets and bring added efficiency and increase the value and output of those assets. AOB is well financed to pursue their acquisition strategy. Assuming the recent private placement goes through, AOB will have $79 million in cash. This will put them in a position to make significant acquisitions going forward. AOB's market is currently fragmented, and AOB can help guide consolidation in the industry. The acquisition of a more diversified product base will also reduce the risk of AOB's revenue stream and would further enhance the value of AOB's extensive distribution network.
AOB is gaining more legitimacy in the capital markets. The recent private placement is an example of this, where Morgan Stanley picked up $20,736,000 worth of shares and warrants. Such significant support from Morgan Stanley is a positive mark on their legitimacy, and having such a well recognized institutional investor on side may bring further institutional attention to the stock. AOB has also begun holding quarterly conference calls in order to improve transparency and communication with shareholders.
1) HEB
2) From a purely TA standpoint, HEB has been doing a few things of interest. Since the move up in late October, HEB has been trading in a descending channel which it appears to be trying to break out of now. We are also looking at newer movement in an ascending triangle which should have an initial breakout around the $2.65 level. As David pointed out in his thread on HEB, it has also been trading in a symmetrical triangle. All of these technical formations are bullish continuation patterns which bodes well for HEB.
We have also had some insider buying on HEB recently so one can assume that something is about to happen here possibly because of upcoming news on Ampligen. We do know that insiders can sell for many reasons but there is only one reason they buy - they expect their stock to go up! David has posted his usual excellent information on HEB at http://www.3stocksonfire.org/trading/index.php?topic=3042.msg35630#msg35630.

1) BMD
2) I don't have any cool technical reasons to pick BMD, except that it's going upwards. It might be doing some funky stuff like golden triangle cross, cupage or whatever, but I don't really care.
They don't make any money. They might make money one day. Well, actually, they will lose alot of money before they ever hope to make anything.
BMD is in a very unsexy sector. Rocks. They like to call them 'aggregates', which is another word for the stuff they use in concrete (or is it cement?).
Oh yeah, it's in a really cold and boring place up north in Canada somewhere. I have no idea why people would buy this stock, but I'm picking it!
I can't say as I know very much about BMD, even their name sounds wierd, 'Birch Mountain Resources.' I thought Birch was a tree? Hmmm. And there's no mountains anywhere near where they are located. Again, very confusing!
They have 30Million cash, seems alot right? But that could be gone before this contest is even over! But, it's almost an 6 bagger in one year. Wheee! Don't you love the stock market?? I DO!! So BMD is my pick. It probably won't win the contest, but did I mention it's almost an 6 bagger? :)
3) Here's a chart..

DESC
It's really, really cold here in Kansas City, and Natural Gas prices are at record highs.
so while I'm shivering, I'm thinking Alternative energy stocks make a really good play.
Tops on my list of AE stock has and will continue to be DESC
Distributed Energy Systems Corp. engages in the creation and delivery of products and solutions to the to the decentralized energy markets. The company''s subsidiary, Proton Energy Systems, Inc., engages in the development of technology related to hydrogen production and fuel cell applications. Distributed Energy''s another subsidiary, Northern Power Systems, Inc., engages in the design and integration of projects with an array of technologies, including renewables, combustion, and batteries. It also develops, manufactures, and installs utility grade wind turbines. Its products include EPC services, integrated power systems, on-site power systems, and on-site renewably powered systems. Northern sells its products to domestic and international customers. Distributed Energy Systems Corp. was formed in 1996 and is headquartered in Wallingford, Connecticut.
From a fundamental viewpoint they have achieved profitability this year and the CEO has stated they will continue to grow without dillution of the stock. For the year, DESC is up over 300%.
From a technical viewpoint (and for this contest) DESC is down close to it's 50 DMA on lower volume over the past few weeks and has filled the Nov. 7 Gap
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/kcscott/DESC1.png)
Each time this stock has touched the 50 DMA it has turned and I see no fundamental reason to believe it will not make the bounce begining the week of 12-5
Furthermore, I have reason to believe a well known Speculator plans to give a ringing endorsement to the stock next week:
My selection is Gander Mountain Company GMTN
This company had heavy inside buying in the second half of November. Current stockprice of $7.40 is less than book and price to book is way lower than the indusrty average.
The price is a fraction of sales and this too, is much lower than the industry average.
GMTN has no long term debt
Gander Mountain opened nine new stores and relocated and consolidated two
stores in the third quarter, bringing its total store count to 98 at the end of
the period. The company anticipates opening six to eight new stores in 2006,
including two relocations.
Share price has appreciated 28% since I bought it on November 28. I believe is has much more upside to be closer in line with the specialty retail industry.
NVAX
Reasons: (1) Breaking out above 4, (2) Flu season with focus on bird flu, (3) Insider buying the stock, and many more reasons listed in the main thread of 3stocksonfire.org
The company is producing vaccines with a different method than previous vaccines egg based. The stock has been very volatile and is a potential rocket. As we have seen lately, as speculators focus on bird flu the price per share can fly in a short period of time. The U.S. government is now developing plans to aid in a bird flu vaccine, which might have something to do with recent moves in the stock. In addition to the flu vaccine work, NVAX has products related to oral and transdermal dosing of estrogen.

EGHT - 8x8 Inc.
A dangerous pick, but it just has to be EGHT, after a spectacular move up over 40% today before this announcement after hours:
BellSouth Teams With 8x8, Inc. To Deliver VoIP Phone Service to Residential Customers
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/051209/clf055.html?.v=23
Since the announcement EGHT has gone up another 66% After hours :o :o :o
And I would expect more on Monday. Seeing as this will be opening at a major premium it is a very speculative pick - however, as I'm able to pick my close, which could be as early as Tuesday, I'm willing to take the risk.
Additionally, if you look at the 3 year weekly chart, it has just broken out of a MAJOR triangle, with long term descending resistance holding it in check - and there are few strong areas of resistance between here and $5. Also look at how it went from less that $2 to $8 in 5 weeks at the end of 2003 - if this news is as big for the company as it appears to be, it could produce a similar run. Right now I have no idea where my price target is, and this could just as easily become the biggest loser of the contest, but that's what the contest is for right? A bit of fun and a shot at the big one.
So no slow gainers for me this time, I want it big and I want it FAST >:D >:D >:D
1) Stock Pick
ASTM - Aastrom Biosciences Inc.
Aastrom Biosciences, Inc. (NasdaqSC: ASTM) is developing patient-specific products for the repair or regeneration of human tissues, utilizing the Company's proprietary adult stem cell technology.
2) Reason behind this pick
ASTM is a great company with big potential in the near future. Their technology uses a fascinating idea in that it uses a person's own stem cells (from bone marrow) to treat severe bone fractures, vascular diseases, jaw bone reconstruction as well as spine fusion. It has many clinical trials actively going on in both US and in Europe. Soon they will be opening a manufacturing site in Europe and hoping to rake in big bucks. This company has forcasted that news will be released soon (clinical results, IND decision, etc.) With the vote in congress coming in early January and the news releases that are inevitable, this company will soon soar pass every analysts price target of over $4.00. Good luck to everyone!
From a technical perspective, ASTM has just recently broke it's 50 day MA. Although, I would like to see more volume, it does look like something ir brewing in the coming month. Volume from the past two days has been double of what it has been in recent weeks. Also, other stem cell stocks such as GERN, STEM, and VIAC all went up today. I think this should be very exciting in the coming weeks. Jaw bone reconstruction results are scheduled to be announced by the end of the calendar year (expecting positive results). The senate will be meeting first thing next year regarding the stem cell bill that will bring more attention to the stem cell sector. Hopefully I'm right this time! ;D
Chart:
1. Stock Pick: SIRI - Sirius Satellite Radio Inc.
2. Reason behind this pick:
Coverage initiated on Sirius Satellite by Citigroup to "Buy", with that high volume today looks like some big news is coming that will rocket SIRI to new highs.. & looking at the chart below i'm seeing a 3rd wave up in the sky before the end of this contest... :D ;D :D ;D
And one more thing, i think SIRI will be more profitable over the next year, as more subscribers will be joining ;)... Nobody want to missed out the famous Howard Stern's impending move to Sirius in early 2006... I myself planning to buy the unit & subscribe to Sirius at very cheap price. From my point of view, satellite Radio is advancing pretty quick & i have a feeling this is going to be huge in years to come... Compare iPod (Apple) & Sirius Satellite Radio <--with Sports brodcasting especially football, Howard Stern etc, etc. all in one unit detachable from your car to anywhere..
... And also, Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. the number 2 U.S. player, teamed up with closely held Standard Broadcasting Inc. and the publicly owned Canadian Broadcasting Corp. to launch Sirius Canada. (wow) that would be great, more subscribers meaning more revenue. ;) GO SIRI!!
On the second chart below, there is Inverted Head & shoulders pattern which is also a bullish sign & i think the third wave is possible ;) Just maybe, time will tell!! :D ;D :D ;D

Neose's first two proprietary candidates are NE-180 (GlycoPEG-EPO), a long-acting version of erythropoietin, and GlycoPEG-GCSF, a long-acting version of granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF)."
2. This is a purely technical play. It came up in my different scans several times. It might have some merit after all. It is a very speculative play but you only gain big when you risk big. I think NTEC fits that.
Technical Reasons:
On Daily:
* Improving ADX line
* Breakout of trendline
* Increasing volume
On Weekly:
* Above the BB 20 MA.
* FULL STO broke out of oversold conditions.

Here is the chart:
My Pick: JAKKS Pacific, Inc. JAKK (nasdaq)
"JAKKS Pacific, Inc. (JAKKS) is a multi-line, multi-brand toy company that designs, develops, produces and markets toys and related products. The Company focuses its business on acquiring or licensing trademarks and brand names with long product histories (evergreen brands). Its products typically include action figures and accessories; craft, activity and stationery products; seasonal toys and leisure products; electronics products; junior sports, and fashion and mini dolls and related accessories. JAKKS also licenses brands, such as World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Nickelodeon, Rugrats, Dora the Explorer, Blue's Clues, SpongeBob SquarePants, Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Hello Kitty and NASCAR. During the year ended December 31, 2004, JAKKS had over 4,775 products in over 21 product categories. The Company's five largest customers are Target, Kmart, Toys 'R' Us, Wal-Mart and Kay Bee Toys, which collectively accounted for approximately 65.6% of its net sales in 2004."
This is a Toy stock, a second semester of the year play. JAKK has surpassed the estimates in 4 of the last 5 quarters and with the economy looking in good shape, I hope the sales for this time of the year will be so good. On october they announce a new line of products for pets based on the famous Bratz doll, expected to ship to retailers nationwide on 2006. For S. Berman COO of the company, this line of products has explosive year over year growth. It started a beautiful trend on 10/14 and it's still going up and undervalued. The MACD looks pretty good too. I believe this one has fuel for a while.
My pick: EPIX
Reason: Investment in bio companies in their development stage is a highly risky business. Look at SPEX, VPHM, ELN, AXYX, ... The stocks could lose 90% of its value in one day and could gain 100% or more in another day.
EPIX is one such company. Right now, its price is at its multi-year low and the canclesticker does not give buy signal yet. For me I would like to wait until it shows a clear uptrend before taking my position.
Because this is one month stock pick contest, I just play my luck.
In the first contest, my luck is not so good. AOB was the first place among all picks after one week and gained 22%. It did have a break-out and the revenues gained 100% as expected.
But because it diluted its shares a lot and also had a private placement, it lost 20% within one month.
Let us see what will happen to EPIX one month from now.
My pick is BCON
This is a technical play. On Monday of this past week BCON broke through the descending trendline drawn on my chart below. It spent the rest of the week consolidating on lower volume. The current price is a great entry point IMO because the pps is just above the trendline now. My target for this contest is the dotted orange line at ~$2.60 which would be about a 35% gain. That should be sufficient for a top 3 finish! Other aspects of the technical picture that I like: the triple bottom formed between late October and late November with slightly higher lows each time, support found at the 200 dma, and the higher low for RSI.
About BCON:
Beacon Power Corporation, a development stage company, engages in the design, development, configuration, and sale of products and services to support electricity grid operation. The company develops alternative sustainable energy storage and power conversion solutions that provide electric power for the renewable energy, telecommunications, distributed generation, and uninterrupted power supply markets in the United States.
Thanks and GO BCON!!!!

PLUG
Plug Power has broken the descending trendline recently.
Plug has not released any contract news since July and I hope to hear some contract news soon.

It is also developing additional products, including a continuous power product, with optional combined heat and power capability for remote small commercial and remote residential applications; an on-site hydrogen generation product for use in various industrial gas applications; and battery-replacement modules for material handling equipment.
Ok here's my pic:
ONNN (on semi conductor)
My reasons for picking this stock are mainly technical. It has formed a cup and handle and its possibly ready for a breakout, and the MACD has turned bullish. I also believe that there is a tech rally coming in 06' specially if the economy really kicks up. Tech rallies always are the leaders when there is a big rally on wall street and that is what I am betting on. I just hope it starts sooner than later. The stock has major support at 5.85 and little resistance above son I'm betting it goes higher and very soon here.
1. My Pick: ON ASSIGNMENT INC (Nasdaq Small Cap: ASGN)
2. My Reason: Since early August the stock has been in an uptrend even though the company is still not profitable. (As Dave says, "you don't have to know why") They provide professional temporary employees to businesses. I'm hoping the trend remains my friend through December.
3 My Chart:
1. CTLM.......Centillium Communications, Inc.
Sector: Technology~~~Industry: Communications Equipment
2. Reason Behind The Pick :
BRIEF: For the nine months ended 30 September 2005, Centillium Communications Incorporation's revenues rose 2% to $55.8M. Net loss fell 65% to $10.9M. Revenues reflect an increase in income from VOIP due to higher unit shipments. and higher revenues from FTTP & DSL products . Lower loss reflects improved gross margins due to lower costs, improved yeilds & product mix, lower research & development costs andan increase in net interest income. http://www.centillium.com
Solid fundamentals, improving technicals in a hot sector.Recent new 52wk high.
Debt free and poised to shine in the hot dsl connection industry.
Price-to-cash-flow ratio well below industry average.

Pick: NMGC
Reason: Yeah, it did this Friday: +4.88 (128.42%). So won't there be some profit taking? Perhaps... but it faded away from the gap it created. And in AH lost only 3%. Great news Friday, and I expect it to rise over the next month :)

I have to go with cray :o :o
Looking at the chart we see long trend down, then breaks out no volume, no news. I also see two gaps that have not been filled, and an arching up trend that looks ready to blast off. One other thing i noticed is that the 50 might just cross the 200 during the contest ( main reason i put in contest ) . I ( imo ) think they might be a take over play based on the fact that one of thier co owners just jumped ship to micro soft, and micro soft is trying to get into the super computer game.
VRSO - VERSO TECH INC (NasdaqSC)
VoIP hot again ?
Maybe VRSO will make a rebound now ?
VoIP system sales dwarfed those of traditional voice systems for the year ended in June 2005, according to a new research report issued by investment firm Merrill Lynch.
As of June, VoIP system sales grew 31 percent year-over-year, while sales of legacy voice systems declined by 20 percent during the same period, according to the report.
The drop in sales of traditional voice systems apparently cancelled out much of the momentum VoIP system sales gave to the overall telephony market, which grew only 2 percent year-over-year, to $2.24 billion, according to New York-based Merrill Lynch.
Verso Technologies, Inc. engages in the design, manufacture, and marketing of converged packet-based solutions to communication service providers. The company operates through two segments, Packet-based Technologies and Advanced Applications Services. The Packet-based Technologies segment develops softswitch and software-based converged packet solutions that use voice over Internet protocol and other protocols for various applications, such as satellite transmission. This segment offers hardware-based solutions for companies seeking to build private, packet-based voice and data networks, and software-based solutions for Internet access and usage management. In addition, it offers customer premise gateway technology, as well as prepaid and post-paid billing and provisioning. The Advanced
Applications Services segment provides outsourced technical application services, and application installation and training services, including help desk support, product support, in-sourcing, on-site deployment services, hardware and software training, and project management services. The company markets its products and services through systems integrators and distributors worldwide. Verso Technologies is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
The company reported revenue of $8.3 million for the third quarter of 2005. EBITDA from continuing operations (defined as net loss before interest, income taxes, depreciation, amortization of intangibles and amortization of deferred compensation) excluding the restructuring charge of $340,000, was a negative $2.3 million. The net loss for the third quarter of 2005 was $4.6 million, or $.17 per share.
MVCO had a clear breakout from its Cup & Handle pattern on Thursday. Below is an illustration of this chart. The depth of the right side of the cup is a little over 5 points. That means the target of this pattern is around 17-17.50. The Point & Figure chart shows a target of $21.50.
MVCO's blowout report on 11/8 justifies a much higher price. They reported .60 per share, a $20/share sales backlog, over $25 million cash, and have increased working capital from $1.8 million a year ago to over $20 million now. Based on the fundamentals, this stock should be well over $20. With the average PE for the industry around 27, and some much higher (http://finance.yahoo.com/q/in?s=MVCO), you could argue MVCO should be worth 27 times annualized $2.40 EPS, or over $64 a share. Even if you assume future quarters will only be half as good as this quarter, that would still be $1.50 in earnings for the year, which should justify a $40.50 price with a 27 PE. As a turnaround story, it could take a couple more quarters of great results for MVCO to completely earn investors' confidence and get to a more appropriate valuation, but the turnaround started with last quarter's great report, making this 2 stellar reports indicating a strong turnaround.
I'll need news to win with this one short term but I want to own for the next two quarters.

Highlites from 3rd Q issued Nov 10th:

Net Income increased to 1.9mil vs 1.1mil

Revs- 12.3mil vs 9.2mil----- Net inc-2.5mil vs 1.9mil------EPS fully diluted 11c vs 10c
Cash = 20.4mil
What I like: A. recent acquisition of Allume adds consistent cash flow. B. Partnerships with Nokia and other Majors will lead to growth of revs. C. cash on hand should lead to more acquisitions. D. management's guidance has been factual and conservative. E. 4th Q should exceed 3rd quarter. F.business sector is on fire. G. Insider sales are related to a divorce and an acquisition not business. H. Lawsuit is related to a Break-up fee, tells me company will only spend money for shareholder value acquisition. I. small market cap. J. only 23.2mil shares outstanding. K. Stock down from a spike high 8 following earnings to 6.50.
Will this stock win a 30 day contest probably not but I'll buy it around 6.50, look for support around 6 and hope to take out that 8 level someday soon.
Sometimes fundamentals throw a curve ball to all you TAs.

my pick for the contest is gigamedia, gigm.
this did well in the last contest but i still see more upside for this company . finally broke through to new highs of 2.85 and now , i believe, consolidating before it goes on to my target price of 3.50 ( hope it doesn't move in the next couple of days!) with a new aquistion to be anounced sometime this month gigm is atracting attention (as per 3stocksonfire portfolio)

My Pick is PMTR,
Technically it is showing a very nice and smooth cup and a handle. The cup has taken a long time to make giving it more strength to the up side.Recent price crossed over the top of the handle (positive).Although it does have a few resisting points overhead but the total picture looks so positive that I have to pick it.

Hello again in the 2nd round....
For the second round of the 3StocksOnFire Stock Picking Contest I have a new (top)pick, it´s an NASDAQ listed biotech company called AASTROM BIOSCIENCES - ASTM
Some facts about ASTM: Web Site: http://www.aastrom.com
Aastrom Biosciences was incorporated in 1989 and is headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
It is a development stage company, develops patient-specific products for the repair or regeneration of human tissues, utilizing its proprietary adult stem cell technology. Its lead products include tissue repair cells (TRCs), which are a mixture of bone marrow-derived adult stem and progenitor cells, produced outside of the body or 'ex vivo' from a small amount of bone marrow taken from the patient. The company also offers AastromReplicell System, a patented, integrated system of instrumentation and single-use consumable kits for the commercial production of human cells. Aastrom Biosciences is developing TRCs for the treatment of severe bone fractures, ischemic vascular disease, jaw reconstruction, and spine fusion. It also focuses on the utilization of TRCs in the areas of bone regeneration and vascular regeneration in limb ischemia resulting from diabetes and other diseases. The company has a strategic alliance with Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation to develop and commercialize treatments for the regeneration of tissues, such as bone and cartilage.
The Chart: seems to be a very nice constellation for me, but have a look for yourself..
(whenever ASTM goes up - they do this in a very nice way...)
(http://bigcharts.marketwatch.com/charts/big.chart?symb=astm&compidx=aaaaa%3A0&ma=0&maval=9&uf=0&lf=4&lf2=32&lf3=2&type=4&size=1&state=8&sid=21635&style=330&time=7&freq=1&comp=NO%5FSYMBOL%5FCHOSEN&nosettings=1&rand=7280&mocktick=1)
...hope the bottom is completed and ASTM goes up. ;)
1) DRL - Doral Financial
2) Doral looks drastically oversold and is severely undervalued given current fundamental numbers are correct. My last pick UBET was awesome technically speaking but fell to a poor conference call. Therefore I am picking a fundamental pick this time around in DRL...
>:D
Hi all,
My pick is DSTI aka Daystar Technologies
It is at the early stages of manufactoring it's GEN I Solar Cells
They're a rapidly expanding small cap listed on the nasdaq.
The reasons :
1) Solar Energy is hype at the moment, see oil price, see gov incentives ...
2) It looks to me from all I read that Daystar has one of the finest products out there
3) they're about to start production any moment now
4) the current stock price is only reflecting the risk that they might not achieve prod & shîp. So once the news come out that everthing is going fine, I expect this stock to boom.
5) The PR is always in line with the achievements, they don't talk much but always do as they say, no more no less.
6) they've already starting preparing for GEN II & III
+... other reasons :)
ok, chart time ...

and good luck to you all
The stock his volatile, and is hitting a 5-year low. I think it will rebound.
NMGC-- NeoMagic Corp.--Huge Gap Super small Float- Turn around story--Embedded DRAM Sony
This seems to be a very risky trade, buying such a huge
gap. And, being such I probably wouldn't lay down a bunch of
cash on it monday. But, we are playing for percentage, one pick,
one sell. I think a month of time ahead of this pick could work.
Mondays open may be a good price when considering the time frame.
Even if this stock reverses tomorrow, I think the correction would be short
lived. This stock has a total o/s of 6.73 mill, float unknown. This stock
could rip either way. Again hypothetical money on this one.
The news on this stock is that they reversed last years 3q loss this year. Revenues 8 million vs. 300k (previous 3Q). Wow!
As you can see on the weekly chart, the stock was way up at 20
before the negative news drove it down to 1.70. The stock was down .29
Friday after hours, hopefully they will drive it down further before the open.
My pick is IINT.
Indus International, Inc., a small-cap company in the technology sector.
Indus International, Inc. engages in the development, licensing, implementation, support, and hosting of service delivery management (SDM) solutions. These software solutions enable clients to manage their customers, assets, workforce, spare parts inventory, tools, and documentation.
This stock is clearly in an uptrending channel. I am hoping it could break out of 4 (2 years high).
The stock is under heavy accumulation by financial institutions.
Alright I'm gonna go with the same thing as I did last time ... looks even more solid than it did last time... My pick is CYTO.
Up 8% and closed near highs with a huge bullish engulfing on double avg volume (and touched the 50 dma) on Friday. Looks to have found a good bottom with support from a huge price volume bar and several days of solid volume. Positive MACD and bouncing RSI indicate strength.
A little bit of resistance at 3.45 but once through that level should see some covering by shorts. That will help it close a gap to 4.00. Not much else in the way of resistance until around 5.00. On top of that no earnings to flub anything up and while news could come out, recent releases have been fairly positive so I'm not too worried about that either.
Chose CYTO over SWIR and MZ. I would have picked CABG but it did not meet the requirements so... CYTO is my pick. I do own it in case anyone wants to know.
STEL
STEL Stellent Inc, Makes content management software solutions. Stellents software enables customers to create, manage, share, and store information ( focused around websites ). We suspect there will be a continuing demand for the management of information, and Stellent has a decent customer roster so far, ( Merrill Lynch, Proctor and Gamble, Bayer, Coca Cola to name a few ) . The forward earnings estimates for Stellent have been increased by more than 35% in the last 7 days.
I am going with PVX, Provident Energy Trust. It is a Canadian gas royalty trust which pays a healthy monthly dividend (10%) of which 85% is tax free to US shareholders and they are just completing financing for the acquisition of the natural gas liquids ("NGL") business of EnCana Corporation for a purchase price of approximately $697.0 million and announced this past week its move of its U.S. listing to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) from the American Stock Exchange (AMEX) and expects trading of its trust units to commence on the NYSE effective December 16, 2005. With natural gas prices shooting ever higher and the entire nothern half of the US at freezing temperatures, what's not to like ? :D ;)

Hello All, eventho I am new here, but I am certainly not new to the market, so I hope that my pick is da winner in the short run! ;D
1) Stock Pick
DCEL & Dobson Communications Corp.
2) Reason behind this pick
Well, DCEL has been under my LONG radar for awhile now. I was very fortunate to got in during its monstrous run up on the beginning of July 2005, one thing that I notice about this gem is that the trend is continuing with increase volume and yes, I was able to get great return after 1 month of holding(July-Aug). So the reason behind my pick is this, after the long minor profit taking from Sep. to mid Nov. I started to see that the trend for DCEL begins to form again with higher volume and big moves, and cause we are in the X-max season, the telecom sector tends to do well during the busy holiday. So I will LOVE to get back into DCEL on Dec 12 and ride it for a month! Oh, with recent news about Dobson to Buy Cellular One Brand for $1.3M, it sure looks great for its near future!>:D
Here is DCEL profile from yahoo:
Dobson Communications Corporation provides rural and suburban wireless communications services in the United States. It offers digital service using the global system for mobile communications (GSM)/general packet radio service/enhanced data for GSM evolution digital standard and the time division/demand multiple access digital standard in its wireless markets. The company also offers various custom-calling features, including voice mail, call forwarding, call waiting, three-way calling, no answer transfer, caller ID, message waiting indicator, sleep mode for longer battery life, voice-activated dialing, and mobile originated and mobile terminated short message service. In addition, it provides advanced wireless data services, which enable its subscribers to access the Internet, to send and receive pictures and video, and to download games and music. Dobson Communications Corporation was organized in 1936 and is headquartered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
3) Stock Chart

RIGL- RIGL Pharmeceuticals.
This stock is a drop shoe. A drop shoe is a stock that has good fund backing, that is punished mercilessly on some bad news. RIGL reported recently that one of its products was not going to be one that would be brought into production. The stock then went from 21.92 to a low of 7.43. That is a drop of 14.49. Now multiply 14.49 by 25% and you get 3.62. Add 3.62 to the low of 7.43 and you get a one month target of 11.05. That is a return of 35% from today's price of 8.20 a share...I'll take 35% in a month.
You need to remember that this is a drug company that has a lot of products in the pipeline. This is not a one product company. If you look at who is doing the speaking for the company this week, it is a Harvard professor. I wouldn't write this stock off. It has been overdone. Let's go long and reap a return of 35%.
TATRADER 16% return last month, and hopefully we will double that return this month!

1) My Stock Pick: NT
2) Reason:
Nortel is a bottom play for me. It's sitting near the 200 dma. As per 1 year chart, NT has gapped up at the open a few times. Those days had great volume. In addition, insiders have been buying lately. The gaps were filled throughout the year.

RBC Capital Markets maintained a "sector perform" rating on Nortel Networks (nyse: NT - news - people ) and said shares could outperform in 2006 should the maker of networking equipment continue to progress on new product development.
"We believe that Nortel's stock may outperform in 2006 if the company improves its top-line growth rates and expands its product portfolio while improving its operating metrics," wrote analyst Mark Sue, in a client note. "A key ingredient of course remains its product cycle."
The analyst said product momentum has not been a strong point for the company in recent years as it has been distracted by management changes and accounting woes. "A lack of competitive new products may be one reason why Nortel lost key deals in 2005 at BellSouth (nyse: BLS - news - people ), BT Group (nyse: BT - news - people ), SBC Communications (nyse: SBC - news - people ), and Telstra (nyse: TLS - news - people )," said Sue.
"Under new Chief Executive Mike Zavirofski, we look for Nortel to exercise a more-focused approach to R&D spending and new product development. Product cycles in communications equipment can be key revenue drivers as evidenced by Cisco Systems' (nasdaq: CSCO - news - people ) ISR routers, Motorola's (nyse: MOT - news - people ) RAZR phones and Foundry Networks' (nasdaq: FDRY - news - people ) RX."
The RBC analyst reiterated a price target of $4 on the stock. "An investment in Nortel may be appropriate for long-term minded investors," he said. The price target represents a "modest premium" versus the peer average, Sue said, due to Nortel's improving operating leverage.

1) I was going to pick gnbt, but reading the rules cannot pick stocks less than $1. That being the case, my pick then is agix, atherogenics inc.
2) why do I pick agix? I've held it for a few months now and still see the potential in it. Back then, there were rumors that it might be a takeover target, maybe merk or pfizer or other big pharma. There was some movement on it last Friday so might mean something. Merger hasn't happened yet, so it might happen in the next month, and if that happens, they say $25-30 can be a possible price for the sale. Also, in the last few months, there been purchases by institutions implying they might know something. Also news of maybe happenings in December with their trials too. Also telechart 2005 with its custom indicators say maybe agix is looking bullish here. Put this all together and the reasons I am bullish on agix.
3) chart on agix
Gateway (GTW)
Technical considerations:
Gateway is trading above the daily sma(50) and the daily sma(200). On the daily chart, the sma(200) isn't rising yet, but the EMA(08) is greater than the EMA(21) and the EMA(21) is greater than the EMA(55). I use that as a trend indicator. Also on the daily chart, the PDI(13) is greater than the MDI(13). Wilder's indicators are often helpful -- such as his ADX. Here, on the daily chart, the ADX(13) is also rising although only slightly. It also appears that GTW is oversold on the daily chart. Recently GTW had a run-up on very decent volume and has held its ground pretty well since then. I think it's good when stocks go sideways for a while. Gateway is also a good company and has a new CEO who's doing a lot to cut costs and improve profits.

My pick is TXCC
I was slow getting my pick in and some of the better ideas I had last week have been scooped. This pick may not be the strongest but it is late here and the end of a hectic but fun weekend....so this will have to be it.
TranSwitch Corporation designs, develops, markets and supports highly integrated digital and mixed-signal semiconductor solutions for the telecommunications and data communications markets. The company's mixed-signal and digital design capability, in conjunction with its telecommunications systems expertise, enables the company to determine and implement optimal combinations of design elements for desired analog and digital functionality.
TXCC is breaking its downward trend line with good volume support out of some low volatility trading. Rising bottoms over the past six weeks indicate that optimism is building. Support at $1.45.
1. OSCI
2. reason:
A FDA approved drug--Factive;
A major partnership in the work;
Cheap.
3. Chat: see yahoo by yourself
My pick is OSUR. OraSure Technologies
OraSure has developed a saliva test for HIV virus, which gives on site results in 20 minutes with a 99% accuracy rate(according to the company). The test is currently approved by the FDA for use by medical professionals, and approval of a kit to be sold over the counter is pending. You can imagine the market for a quick, non-invasive, accurate HIV test available over the counter at your local drug store.
The stock has had two recent gaps up, both of which have been filled. The first one was on Nov 21, when the stock was recommended by a TV stock Guru(Cramer). The second was on November 29, when the president of the company rang NASDAQ's opening bell along with the Surgeon General to promote Aids awareness.
The stock was extremely volatile on Friday, December 9, following a San Francisco Chronicle article stating the test had a 25% failure rate. This report was statistically inaccurate. The incidence of positive results at the laboratory interviewed was 4%, and of those 4% one in four was a false positive, so the rate of inaccuracy was actually 1%. The company recommends that anyone getting a positive result have further blood testing. This rate of accuracy is better then many over the counter tests available, such as pregnancy tests.
I think the volatility caused by this article will blow over and the uptrend will continue. If FDA approval for selling the kit over the counter appears near, the stock should take off.

Price action has been in a steady down trend for 04 and 03 though has bottomed out in 05 with increased volume. Price action has been stuck in a trading range from 2.85-1.61 for pretty much the whole year and yet friday was a breakout of a long term descending trenline on heavy volume. Resitence of this rally was met at the top of the trading range of 2.85.Only to drop .15 in the AH session. I look foward to see what happens in the near future to the PPS for KNOL. hello again, back with another pick...
My new pick is another biotech company named Pharmion Corp. - PHRM, (Nasdaq)
Pharmion Corporation was formed in 1999 and is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado. PHRM primarily engages in the acquisition, development, and commercialization of pharmaceutical products for the treatment of oncology and hematology patients. The company's product acquisition and licensing efforts are focused on both late-stage development products, as well as those approved for marketing. Its product portfolio includes Thalidomide Pharmion and Thalidomide Laphal for the treatment of relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma; Vidaza, used for the treatment of myelodysplastic syndromes; Innohep, for the treatment of deep vein thrombosis; and Refludan, which is used for the treatment of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia. The company primarily operates in the United States, Europe, and Australia.
Reason for my pick is that PHRM seems to be very undervalued for me....
Let´s have a look to the chart:
(http://bigcharts.marketwatch.com/charts/big.chart?symb=phrm&compidx=aaaaa%3A0&ma=0&maval=9&uf=0&lf=4&lf2=32&lf3=2&type=4&size=1&state=8&sid=1585362&style=330&time=7&freq=1&comp=NO%5FSYMBOL%5FCHOSEN&nosettings=1&rand=2006&mocktick=1)
Hope to see PHRM back in the mid twenties by january...
Good luck to all ;)
China Energy Savings Technology Inc. (CESV)
Fundamentals :
China Energy Savings Technology, Inc., through its subsidiary, Starway Management Limited, engages in the development, manufacture, sale, and distribution of energy-saving products for use in commercial and industrial settings in the People's Republic of China.
CESV plans to explore new business opportunities and technologies in response to the "world's growing global energy crisis." The company clearly stated that it intends to expand into alternative-energy areas such as fuel cells, solar power, and micro-hydrogen.
Market Cap: 201.30M
52wk Range: 3.90 - 28.28
Qtrly Earnings Growth (yoy): 11.40%
Operating Margin (ttm): 26.06%
I don't want to go too deep into fundamentals as I believe that China Energy is a pure speculation at this point.
Technical Analysis
The main reason for my pick - CESV recently broke "falling wedge" formation on high volume as you can see on the charts bellow. With the RSI & MACD rising this stock could gain 20%+ within the few weeks.
Greetings and Happy Holidays... I am sticking with my last month's pick Avanir Pharm (AVN)
1> New CEO was CFO of Allergen - straight shooter and knows the biz
2> Potential FDA approval soon on NDA for Neurodex
3> Better than expected earnings report (stock sold off)
story: http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/051205/earns_avanir.html?.v=1
4> High short interest
5> Large positions by Omnimed and J. Steinberg over last 6 months
6> CEO purchased 500,000 @ $3.00 (good show of faith)
7> Large short position possible squeeze
8> Nearing the Golden Cross (1year and 2 year charts) that everyone talks about.
:o Avanir is a sleeping giant starting to wake up :o
[/size]
This year end rally could lift AVN to new levels ... KC prepared to be dethroned !!! LOL
DDDC (Delta Three, Inc)
Reasons behind this pick:
This is merely a technical pick, based on what I think is a nice looking chart for the time frame of this contest ;)
DDDC has a market cap of 139M (source: Yahoo), provides integrated Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony services. It offers private-label products, including Broadband Phone and PC to Phone; virtual roaming service; carrier transmission services.
Short Term:
DDDC just had a powerful breakout of a short term descending trend line, sustained with increasing volume during the last few sessions. The 2 moving averages I'm using (ema-50 / ema-200) have both been crossed on the upside, and momentum is getting hot.
Long Term:
I'm tracking a long term ascending support, touched several times since 2003 before some big upside movements... Last month DDDC touched this support again at $2.40 generating this upside move since then.
General Overview:
I'm not sure if today is the right time to buy DDDC, but I'm expecting upside continuation on this pattern and a reasonable potential for this move (maybe $4.00/$4.30). The first resistance (and confirmation) is $3.40, the risk on this position is a pullback to the $2.70's.
Charts:
1) Stock Pick: IMOS
2) Reason behind this pick
Chipmos is up 37% Revenue Growth in Nov. 05 compared to Nov. 04
Chipmos is up 9% Revenue Growth, month-over-month
1. The projected PE for 2006 of 7.26 is very low given the company's leading position, proprietary technology, and market growth. The stock has strong fundamentals and a good value compared with other stocks in its industry group.
2. Chipmos has patented technology that will continue to position the company as a market leader.
3. The stock price of $5.66 per share is its 52 week low. Although the stock is technically weak, it should have minimal downside and start to rebound
From Market Edge Research report dated 11/21/05:
4. Chipmos provides a broad range of back-end semiconductor testing services, including engineering testing, wafer probing and final testing for memory and mixed-signal seminconductors, and provides testing services for liquid crystal display driver seminconductors. The compay also offers assembly services.
5. The trailing twelve month PE is 0.51. This ratio is lower than the average PE for the inductry group which is 80.69.
6. The Price/Book ration is 0.03, compared with an industry (Electr. Semi.) average of 3.19.
7. The prior quarter operating margin of 18.24% is greater than the TTM operating markgin of 15.07%.

SCU (Storm Cat Energy)
Storm Cat is a fundamental play, which I believe is going to rise sharply as the price of natural gas sky rockets, and we realize that there is a significant supply problem.
The Company:
The company is focused on Coal Bed Methane (CBM), a gas derivative of coalfields. This provides an alternative method of getting natural gas, and should get a lot of attention as the natural gas crisis unfolds.
Storm Cat has an all star management lineup, and I truly believe that they are dedicated to seeing Storm Cat emerge as a significant player in the natural resources arena.
From the company website: http://www.stormcatenergy.com
Storm Cat Energy is a rapidly growing exploration company focusing on developing unconventional natural gas reserves globally. Our mission is to create value for our shareholders by applying strong technical expertise to strategies that will unlock substantial natural gas resources in areas where production can be achieved quickly and efficiently.
Storm Cat Energy Corporation was founded expressly for recovering liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons from unconventional reservoirs. By definition, these tight sandstones, coal seams, and organic rich shales need artificial stimulation in order to produce economic quantities of petroleum. Importantly, these reservoirs have been neglected in many parts of the world for decades. Consequently, numerous and substantial business opportunities exist as many companies do not have adequate knowledge in order to cope with unconventional reservoir behavior. These unconventional hydrocarbon sources require extensive technical knowledge from both geological and engineering perspectives, and by careful design, Storm Cat has assembled a technical team second-to-none in, at least, North American petroleum circles.
Storm Cat's technical program is and always has been threefold; 1 - acquire low-risk producing properties in already-proven unconventional reservoir regions for much-needed cash flow,
2 - participate/operate in moderate risk endeavors, in which, by definition, chances are good for ultimate success, and
3 - initiate higher risk, high-reward projects for purposes of exponential company growth, starting with our recent and exciting new CBM contract with the Petroleum Authority of Mongolia.
We are pleased the low and medium risk endeavors are being avidly pursued especially in terms of outright purchase of producing properties, or in forming a joint venture with other companies. The low risk program is being pursued within the continental United States, where unconventional production is already well-established from coal seams (coalbed methane) or is growing rapidly in terms of gas shale recovery. While the purchase price of these properties remains high due to the current petroleum demand and concomitant pricing, Storm Cat has a great deal to offer in terms of technical help for potential partner companies not possessing the same degree of expertise.
Storm Cat staff has targeted moderate risk opportunities in western Canada where several companies possess significant acreage holdings in Alberta and British Columbia, but again, have a very inadequate background in comprehension of these complex reservoir types. Storm Cat's Calgary office is approaching several such companies currently, and we expect to finalize one or more formal agreements shortly.
Management's objective is to create value for shareholders through a focused strategy of acquiring large scale undeveloped unconventional gas properties and applying state of the art technologies in view of establishing significant long term resource base of natural gas. Importantly, one of management's goals is to operate obtain one of the industry's lowest and most efficient cost structures.
Further, Storm Cat's corporate strategy is to focus on enhancing the value of quality exploration properties with a view to joint venturing certain properties to third party companies. Joint ventures will be utilized to increase our exposure to success, but only at the optimal time so as to maximize shareholder value.

Northgate Minerals Corporation (NMC) engages in the ownership, acquisition, and exploration of gold and copper properties in Canada. Its principal assets include a 100% interest in the Kemess South open pit mine and its associated infrastructure, and mineral rights located in north-central British Columbia. The company's mineral rights cover an area of 35,312 hectares and are held as 3 mining Leases covering the Kemess South and Kemess North deposits, 206 mineral claims surrounding the mining leases, and 1 mineral claim held under an option agreement. As of December 31, 2004, NMC's total proven and probable reserves were 510,700,906 tones of gold and copper. The company was incorporated in 1919 under the name Kirkland-Hudson Bay Gold Mines Limited. It changed its name to Northgate Exploration Limited in 1958 and to Northgate Minerals Corporation in 2004. The company is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada.
With gold having made such a big move recently it is due for a pullback so probably not the best to buy today but we think in a month we will still see higher prices for the stock.
The chart here is a weekly one and you can see that actually for 2005 it had made almost no gains but has broken above its channel. It is over bought short term but a consolidation or pullback will help that out. Gold stocks have been lagging the metals increase in price so that either means the metal is due to pull back or the stocks move up nicely.
The stock may gap up as gold is up today so not so good for the contest but we will see in a month.
