Thanks for putting it back on the radar Fous. On a 3-year chart it's a cup and handle. If you've correctly spotted the handle breakout, the implied target would be somewhere up around $15. $-) Nice!

Dobson Communications Swings to 3Q Profit
Monday November 6, 5:40 pm ET
Dobson Communications Rings Up a Profit As More Subscribers Answer the Call

NEW YORK (AP) -- Wireless phone service provider Dobson Communications Corp. on Monday said it swung to a third-quarter profit on strong subscriber additions and higher revenue.

Profit of $25.9 million, or 14 cents per share, compared with a loss of $65.9 million, or 45 cents per share, in the 2005 quarter.

The recent quarter included a $7.9 million income tax benefit, while the year-ago quarter included a $66.4 million loss due to redemption and repurchases of preferred stock.

Analysts forecast profit of 5 cents per share, according to a poll conducted by Thomson Financial.

Sales rose 6.5 percent to $336.4 million from $315.8 million in the year-ago period, beating Wall Street's expectation of $329.7 million in revenue.

During the quarter, Dobson added 23,500 net subscribers to its base to bring the total to about 1.6 million, versus 24,100 fewer subscribers in the year-ago period. The increase drove service revenue, the company said.

Churn -- loss of subscribers -- decreased to 2 percent during the quarter, compared to churn of 2.8 percent in the year-ago period.

Service costs rose $10.9 million during the quarter to $88.8 million, due in part to costs incurred at recently added cell sites. Off-network roaming costs also pulled down results. Administrative and general costs decreased by $3.2 million to $47.5 million. Results include a $1.8 million stock-option expense.

Dobson also said it reached a settlement agreement for a consolidated securities class action lawsuit pending in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.

The company said the $3.4 million settlement, if approved, would settle all claims from investors who bought shares between May 6, 2003 and Aug. 9, 2004. A substantial portion of the settlement amount is covered by insurance, Dobson added.

Shares rose 21 cents, or 2.7 percent, to $8.05 in after hours trading.
