Nice move today. Coming off great earnings last quarter and a PE ratio under 9.
Needs to be discovered just like CMT. I know it has low volume but a prized trade
is getting in early and this may be that opportunity.
I am not a pro so do your own DD. IMO it looks good.
The weekly chart shows that the stock has been volatile lately. I think once it hits around $9, that would be a good entry point for this stock.
Thanks for your response. I appreciate that you took the time to share your
opinion. It is well regarded. ARTW , to me, has a bullish weekly chart with an
engulfing candle and increasing volume. After making highs today and after the
backoff renewed buying came into the close. I think these are all the signs of
good things to come.
I like stocks that have intrinsic value fundamentally. Positive and improving
earnings and revenues, lower PE's , etc etc. BOOM, FORD, CMT fit stocks
I look for. I really liked your IIPI pick. Good stocks making good investments
also requires the right time to sell them. I do struggle with that as much as
anything.
Anyway I am hoping ARTW can do similiar things. Thanks again.
If you like fundamentals look also at TLF and OFI. I own OFI and it's a great company that should have great earnings, just not to noticed at this time, its picking up volume and has moved from 2.50 to 3.20 in the last three weeks.
Another good company that has been beaten down is CVV. I like the fundamentals of this stock, This is a buy and hold for me. I know it will move up from this bottom. Just don't know when, but it will. I have made more money buying a stock coming off bottom. It's just the wait as a trader that can kill you. Thinking "When the hell is this stock going to make its move". But I wait.
Looks like its worth a watch.
Indicators have turned up, macd is very bullish.
Would like to see more volume.

shares outstanding 1,964,784 and 1,958,196 for the quarters ended
February 28, 2005 and 2004, respectively.
Sales for the quarter ended February 28, 2005 were increased $968,000 compared to the same period in 2004, principally due to the significant increase in Art's-Way branded products. Our new grinder mixers and land planes were two of the product lines showing increases in the first quarter. As a result of increase in sales of Art's-Way branded whole goods, we pushed our production of OEM manufactured blowers into the later part of the first quarter and second quarter. This resulted in a decrease in OEM sales for the first quarter of $533,000. We expect to see OEM sales rebound in the second quarter.
Our gross profit percentage for the first quarter of 2005 was up 10.8%, from 24.1% in fiscal 2004 to 34.9% in fiscal 2005. We saw steel prices starting to rise in the first quarter of 2004, but at that time we were unable to pass the price increase along to our customers. The profit number from the first quarter of 2005 reflects the impact of passing on the price increase experienced throughout 2004. The swing in product mix discussed above also impacted our gross profit. Those issues, coupled with the consolidation of our two manufacturing facilities impacted on our gross profit percentage.
Our net income increased by $319,000 despite the fact that we had to start recognizing income tax expense due to the recognition of all our deferred tax asset in prior periods. We expect to record income tax expense each quarter as we earn profits going forward. While we are recording income tax expense we will not pay out those expenses in cash until we deplete our net operating loss carry forward, which is currently at approximately $3,120,000.
The order backlog as of February 28, 2005 remains strong at $4,104,000 compared to $4,060,000 one year ago.

Yes volume is too frustrating low for ARTW. I own some. Not a big amount. Hoping
it may be discovered. It has the numbers.
OFI has a beautiful chart and today I think it broke out with increasing volume.
Nice pick Saffey. I am wondering if I should buy a position tomorrow. It looks good.
TLF seems to be a great performer. Volume is subsiding though as it is getting
higher and I wonder if it is going to consolidate here.
CMT is just going higher and higher and I still see great things ahead. I did sell
1/2 my position in anticipating some kind of pullback. From $5.80 I am due some
kind of cashing in.
My sentiment on OfI, I think it's good for at least $5. With some pullbacks here and there, it's displaying the same action as PRLS has. They're almost identical in behavior. I actually bought both at the same
[email protected], two months ago.
TLF will consolidate. I think its a strong company and will have strong earnings as they're opening more stores.
quietly ARTW is moving nicely but with low volume.
I love this stock. It is clearly going up because of value. I believe it has a long way to go too. I understand it is a hard day trade stock because of the lack of liquidity but looking for a 1-3 month investment this has turned out well for me.
Liking the look of this Chart.
ARTW gapped up a few days ago after earnings profit tripled. Consolidated a couple of days....now ready to move higher. ;D
Love the look of this chart. Market cap only $35 million.
Up after triple profit on earnings a few days ago. Consolidated a couple of days and now looking to go up higher ;D
Kslifka, I am going to merge these two threads.
It's makes for a better discussion thread now.
Applaud you for bringing it back to the boards attention ! ;)

Art's-Way Third Quarter and 9 Months Results
Wednesday October 10, 1:13 pm ET
ARMSTRONG, Iowa, Oct. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Art's-Way Manufacturing Co., Inc. (Nasdaq: ARTW - News) today (October 10, 2007) released the following results for the fiscal quarter and nine months ended August 31, 2007.
Highlights:
-- Year to date net sales increased $4,696,000 compared to the same period
a year ago.
-- Year to date gross profit increased $1,899,000 compared to the same
period a year ago.
-- Earnings per share for the quarter are $.47 versus $.09 in 2006, year
to date earnings per share are $.94 versus $.31 in 2006.
a) Basic income per share based on the weighted average number of shares
outstanding 1,978,176 and 1,973,176 for the quarter; and 1,978,176 and
1,970,037 for the nine months ended August 2007 and 2006,
respectively.
(b) Diluted income per share based on the weighted average number of
shares outstanding 1,987,952 and 1,979,701 for the quarter; and
1,983,425 and 1,978,092 for the nine months ended August 2007 and
2006, respectively.
Our consolidated net sales for the nine months ended were $19,166,000, representing a 32% increase compared to the same period one year ago. A majority of this increase was due to the inclusion of Art's-Way Scientific, Inc., net sales of $4,666,000, for the nine months just ended. Art's-Way Scientific, Inc. was acquired in August of 2006 and therefore only included, $101,000 of year to date sales for 2006. Art's-Way Manufacturing had revenues totaling $10,926,000 for the nine months, compared to $11,733,000 for the same period in 2006. This decrease was due to a reduction in sales to our OEM dealers for blowers as well as our delivery schedule on beet equipment being later than last year, pushing some of our beet equipment sales into the fourth quarter. Art's-Way Vessels had revenues totaling $3,573,000 for the nine months ended, compared to $2,636,000 for the same period in 2006.
Consolidated gross profit increased during the quarter to 34% compared to 23% in 2006. Year to date gross profit is 31% compared to 28% in 2006. When we purchased Art's-Way Scientific we also purchased their backlog and had to honor pricing from the prior owners. Art's-Way Scientific's gross profit was 20% for the first quarter of 2007 year to date gross profit has increased to 29%. Art's-Way Manufacturing's gross profit was 30% while Art's-Way Vessel's was 34% year to date.
Operating expenses for the quarter decreased $52,000 compared to 2006. As a percent of sales, operating expenses decreased by five percentage points- 11% in 2007 compared to 16% in 2006. Year to date operating expenses are 15% compared to 20% in 2006. Art's-Way Manufacturing's year to date operating expense as a percentage of sales was 19%, Art's-Way Vessel 11% and Art's-Way Scientific was 9%.
Interest expense quarter to date and year to date have increased due to the addition of $1,500,000 loan in the third quarter of 2006. Other income increased by $104,000 in 2007 compared to 2006. Of that increase, $312,000 is the result of our accounting for the fire and insurance recoveries in Monona, Iowa, offset by $200,000 additional expenses related to early payoff penalties and amortization costs on our loan refinancing package.
The order backlog as of October 2007 is $12,453,000 compared to $4,210,000 one year ago. Art's-Way Manufacturing's order backlog as of October is $2,773,000 compared to $980,000 in 2006, due primarily to strong grinder sales as well as shredders for the 07 season that have yet to ship. Art's-Way Vessels backlog is $417,000 compared to $1,894,000 in 2006. The difference in Vessel's backlog is due to a large blanket order with a major customer in 2006 that covered several months that has not been renewed. We were required to be out of our leased building on October 4. We have moved out of the leased building and will not be in our new facility until January of 2008. Art's-Way Scientific's backlog is $9,263,000.
On September 5th of 2007 the Company closed on the asset purchase agreement with Miller -- St. Nazianz. The purchase included all inventories, tooling and other proprietary rights to the hay and forage line of Miller Pro.
Art's-Way manufactures and distributes farm machinery niche products including animal feed processing equipment, sugar beet, land maintenance equipment, finished mowing, crop shredding equipment, plows and seed planting equipment. Art's-Way also produces haylage machinery for original equipment manufacturers (OEM's). After market service parts are also an important part of the Company's business. We have two wholly owned subsidiaries, Art's-Way Vessels Inc. manufactures pressurized tanks and vessels and Art's-Way Scientific Inc. manufactures modular animal confinement buildings and modular laboratories.
This news release includes "forward-looking statements" within the meaning of the federal securities laws.
