Six-time repeaters on list: eCopy Inc. of Nashua, N.H.; Ibasis Inc. of Burlington, Mass.; and Network Engines Inc. of Canton, Mass.

Moved very well off the.......Double Bottom (Reversal) Pattern
NENG looking really, really good once again. Positive divergence on the MACD, breaks of the 50 and 200 dmas and a couple days of increased volume. Here's the chart... check it out for yourself. Will decide on EGHT or NENG tomorrow morning to invest my remaining $700.
Thinking about adding some at open... no one else has an opinion?
Here are some mid/long term charts. A little bit less rosy picture but still solid. Good for 10% and if it breaks out could be good for 40-50% or so.
Hi dwest718
I posted chart on this reply that will show my opinoin on NENG. This is only my opinoin.
If you decide to enter I hope it work's out great for you.
Goodluck trading
Thanks for posting Wrangler and <applause> for your analysis. Yeah the resistance and support in this area is a little iffy but all the indicators point towards bullish sentiment and it just bounced off the trend line. Think I will try to put an order in for 325 shares @ 2.20-2.22 and put a stop in @ around 1.85 and see where we go from there.
320 shares @ 2.28 ... got a little anxious and went ahead and pulled the trigger.
Nothing really special about the chart so far today. Good MACD movement though.
Hi dwest718
Something to think about.
You bought 320 shares @2.28 = 729.60 + 14.00 comm. = 743.60 divided by 320 = 2.32 is actually what you paid for it. Comm. would be the buy and sell paid to broker. I alway's calculate the commission's in my buy price as my total price I paid
If you're stop loss is hit @1.85 that would be a loss of around 20%. It is recommended to never take more than 8% loss on any trade depending on what amount of risk an investor is willing to take.
Just wanted to make you aware of the amount of loss you would get if you're stop loss got hit but you're trading a small amount of shares so the loss would be small compared to what it would be if it was 1000 shares or more.
Whatever you're trading plan is,,I hope it turn's you some green in you're account

I understand :D... I'm willing to take that chance of the 20% loss... that's usually how low I set my stops. I'm up 9% over the last 10 weeks so I can't really complain. Hope to keep up that track record or maybe even do better than that.
Besides... I can take a bit more risk than most. I've got half my portfolio locked up in long term investments and a 40 year investment horizon ;D
I'll post a bit of analysis on NENG when I get the chance tonight. An interesting candlestick today but solid action to finish the day in a fairly positive manner.
Sound's like a plan :o :o :)
Goodluck with all you're trading day's
So some charts and analysis:
1st chart: Candlestick and pattern that usually imply negative sentiment were formed today but NENG had a positive close recovering 2-3% heading into close. Solid volume continues and MACD was also very nice. More importantly, Golden Cross looks to be coming. When the last Golden Cross occurred, NENG ran from around 2.00 to around 3.20 (current 52wk high) within a month.
2nd chart: With some help from StockTA.com, support and resistance levels. Green represents support and red resistance. The levels mirror some of what Wrangler has already posted. Significant support at 2.07 and 1.85. 2.07 is just below the 50 dma and 200dma. My stop is @ 1.85. Minor resistance and support form weak trading range between 2.20 and 2.26. Some resistance @ 2.45 but that's it until it reaches the 52 week high.
How do you put the charts in between the text? Tried to use the Insert Image command and put the file name in the brackets but it didn't work :-[
Tomorrow will be an important day. Could retest 2.12 but I doubt there's anyway it'll close anywhere near there... we'll see what happens. Happy trading ;D
I think NENG is preparing for a breakout. Volume is increasing. MACD is going bullish. Moving Averages underneath. The technology sector is looking great. I might put my 3 pennies tomorrow morning.... ;)
mexirafa
Here we go baby. Chart to come after the day is over. Broke out over 6 month high. Let's go NENG!

Network Engines Named Appliance Provider for Newbury Networks
Tuesday December 5, 8:29 am ET
Appliance lifecycle services combined with breadth of design, manufacturing, and logistics expertise prove key to new appliance partnership
CANTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Network Engines, Inc. (NASDAQ: NENG - News), a leading provider of storage and security server appliance products and services, today announced that Newbury Networks Inc., the Location Systems Company(TM), named Network Engines as its appliance manufacturing partner to build the industry's first infrastructure-agnostic wireless location appliance. By providing a dedicated hardware platform optimized to run Newbury's field-proven location technology, the Newbury Location Appliance(TM) built by Network Engines equips enterprise organizations with a plug-and-play solution for tracking thousands of devices over wireless LANs.
"Network Engines has established itself as the leading vendor of appliance solutions for software systems' companies eager to expand into new markets using dedicated hardware platforms," said Michael Maggio, President and CEO of Newbury Networks. "Partnering with Network Engines to design and build wireless network appliances tuned to run our solutions enables us and our strategic partners to develop a wealth of next-generation mobile enterprise applications including asset tracking, network provisioning, voice communications, and security."
Network Engines President and CEO Greg Shortell said that Newbury Networks is in the vanguard of software companies that are capitalizing on appliance advantages to deliver their applications as turn-key solutions: "By using our revision-controlled appliance reference platforms, Newbury Networks reduces the cost to deliver its patented location technology to a broader set of the marketplace. By ensuring that every model of appliance is identical, Network Engines enables Newbury and its partners to roll out location tracking applications to hundreds of locations within large organizations coupled with centralized management and network-based software update capabilities."
"We are fortunate to have a strong manufacturing partner conveniently near us in New England," continued Newbury's Maggio. "The technical flexibility of Network Engines combined with the company's high level of support enables us to deliver all of the benefits of dedicated hardware platforms without having to become hardware manufacturers ourselves. By partnering with Network Engines, we avoid the costs of developing our own hardware design, manufacturing and logistics expertise - and the tight control we gain over our hardware platforms enables us to deliver assured application experiences with lower support costs over the entire life of each appliance. That's a win for us, our partners, and our mutual enterprise customers."

And we keep on hopping. Another nice white candle today as long as this normal buying pressure continues. Even a doji wouldn't be that bad... let's see what happens. Only average volume but that could signify positive sentiment.
NENG is back... selloff recently down to 50dma... 3 bounces and a large white candlestick today could mean a good run coming... might add some more tomorrow. Good luck everyone.

Network Engines to partner with Microsoft
Tuesday January 23, 12:08 pm ET
Network Engines Inc. enjoyed a boost in share price Tuesday after software giant Microsoft Corp. announced a new partnership with the appliance maker.
Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT - News) agreed to acquire Whale Communications Ltd., a provider of secure access products, last year. Under a deal announced Tuesday, Canton, Mass.-based Network Engines (Nadaq: NENG), which makes storage and security server appliance products, will provide service and support to new and existing Whale SSL VPN customers. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Network Engines spokesperson Joni Moore said the arrangement is a major get for the company, which had already established its knowledge of Microsoft products with a line of appliances that are compatible with Microsoft's Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server.
There are approximately 400 existing Whale customers worldwide, Moore said. The Whale technology, known as Intelligent Application Gateways (IAG), has been rolled-in as an optimizer in an appliance renamed the NS-4700. The 2U rackmount system imposes a physical separation between the public network and the customer's internal network and allows only known-good traffic to pass to each application, the company said in a statement.
Shares of Network Engines surged 14 percent to $2.66 in Tuesday morning trade following the announcement.
Published January 23, 2007 by the Boston Business Journal
ENTERS DEFINITIVE AGREEMENT: Network Engines, Inc. (NENG) has entered into a definitive
agreement to acquire privately-held Alliance Systems, Inc., a provider of server appliances
and computer infrastructure supporting telecommunications and enterprise communications solutions.
Valued at approximately $40 million, the transaction will be funded through a combination
of approximately $35 million in cash, which includes the payment of certain of Alliance's debt
obligations, and approximately 2.7 million shares of Network Engines' common stock. Alliance
Systems provides server appliances and enhanced support services for wireless, VoIP, contact
center and enterprise communications solutions. For the 2006 fiscal year, revenue was approximately
$102 million and operating income was approximately $3.2 million.
NEI(formerly NENG) $1.69 up 15c on Volume Jump Friday Ahead of Earnings November 4
I expect $2.75 - $3.25 close Next Friday.
The chart below shows that technicals are coming around and that next week will be bullish:
http://stockcharts.com/charts/gallery.html?s=nei
- NEI is starting to get recognized as a player in the fast-growing Cloud Computing sector as a preferred hardware provider. EMC, which is being rumored as a MSFT and ORCL acquisition target is a huge NEI customer and growing business together every year for the last 8 years. The most recent products are for cloud computing.
- Super undervalued trading at 0.4 times sales for a company growing 30%+ as it emerges strongly from the recent recession. Was deeply oversold due to over-reaction after slight revenue miss last quarter.
- Exceptional revenue growth ($144M in 2009, $250M in 2010 and so on). The November 4 report will show a 30%+ 4Q/FY revenue growth and FY return to profitability
- 3 consecutive profitable quarters. Will report the 4th on November 4.
- Strong balance sheet (30c/share cash, no debt, over $80 million of NOLs), $10 million in available credit that has never been used yet...etc.
The following presentation ( a must listen before you invest) will highlight the following:
http://www.wsw.com/webcast/mk21/neng/
- The exponential recent growth as a result of significant design wins (EMC, Dell, Tektronix, others) due to a shift in philosophy in 2009
- The exciting new markets the company is getting into like enabling software companies to do Cloud Computing (so that they don't have to deal with the hardware part of the business). As you probably have heard Cloud Computing is growing at an exponential rate
- Participating in many vertical markets/technologies (telo communications, storage, network security, enterprise communications, etc)
- Focus on building strong ties with their customers (EMC for instance, 8 years of growing business in several divisions and geographical regions).
- Strongest player in its niche business
- Acquisition candidate. Sector undergoing massive consolidation due to positioning for Cloud Computing (CC) growth (read white paper below about NEI and CC):

NEI (Network Engines....formerly NENG) will report strong earnings this month and will attend Nedham's Growth Conference next week.
===> Target: $2.5+ after 1Q 2011 earnings
NEI's is looking better and better after a heavy consolidation in the $1.45 -$1.6 range:
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=57881165
NEI is potential buyout candidate due cloud-computing sector consolidation:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-01-03/technology-takeovers-may-accelerate-in-2011-as-ibm-hp-push-into-the-cloud.html?cmpid=yhoo
NEI Highlights and 1Q Earnings Expectations:
- NEI's current market cap is $65 million
- NEI's 1Q 2011 revenues to be reported in about 2 weeks will be about $62 million vs. $48 million same quarter last year and sequentially stronger than 2Q 2010.
- Net income will range from $800K to $1 Million vs. $140K.
- NEI's balance sheet is super strong with 40c/share cash and ZERO debt.
- The stock is trading at 0.25 times sales and 12 PE. This is a 200 - 300% discount from sector averages
NEI's revenues are growing at 20%+/year due to ever increasing demand for "virtual machines" and other storage/security products the company makes for EMC, DEll, and other customers.
Players the hot "cloud computing" like NEI are expected to grow significantly in the future. There is also significant consolidation in the sector making NEI an ideal buyout candidate because it is trading at 0.25 timers sales, it's consistently profitable, has a strong balance sheet, and has a long list of blue chip customers.
Last Friday, Gleacher analyst Brian Marshall issued a short research note this morning summarizing a few trends he thinks will be important in IT in 2011 and beyond.
1) Cloud computing, he says, currently consumes only two percent of the global enterprise storage budget today, and he expects that to grow to between 15 and 20 percent within five years.
2) He says solid-state storage–which uses flash memory to enhance storage in servers by breaking up the bottlenecks that exist between processors that do the number crunching and hard drives that store the data–is "at a nascent stage," and that solid-state use in enterprise applications will only get more important in 2011.
3) Finally, expect more virtualization in the data center. Currently, corporations virtualize about 30 percent of their servers and storage machines. Marshall thinks over five years, that will grow to about 70 percent, and if the conditions are right, 2011 could be a year where the growth rate could accelerate significantly.
Not surprisingly, NEI is starting to gain visibility:

NEI $1.74..Steady Upwards Move. Strong Earnings/Guidance Expected Shortly. Aggressive Consolidation in Cloud Computing Sector Makes NEI a Tasty Acquisition Candidate.
http://stockcharts.com/freecharts/gallery.html?s=NEI
The latest, and probably significant development is, the upcoming monster new product release by EMC which could potentially be a game changer for NEI (EMC is NEI's largest customer)
In a recent CC, NEI's CEO hinted that revenues will jump significantly starting in 2Q 2011 (or the current quarter) ending March 30, 2011. NEI will report 1Q earnings in less than 2 weeks according to IR. If this is the case, guidance going forward could be really strong. Since this has not been announced by NEI, the current pps does not reflect this significant event.
Here is EMC's latest on the new product launch:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/01/04/emc_vnx_unified_storage/
Even without the potential windfall from the EMC product launch, NEI's revenues are growing at 20%+/year due to ever increasing demand for "virtual machines" and other storage/security products the company makes for EMC, DEll, and other customers.
Players in the hot "cloud computing" like NEI are expected to grow significantly in the future. Trading at 0.3 X sales Growing at 40%+. Products in several hot sectors (Storage/Virtualization/Cloud Computing/Network Security/Telecom/Wireless
My expectation: 3+ after strong 1Q 2011 earnings/guidance in two weeks.
NEI's Chart is looking better and better:
http://stockcharts.com/freecharts/gallery.html?s=NEI
Highlights and 1Q earnings expectations:
- 0.3 times sales of $240 Million/year. This is 300 - 5000% lower valuation than other
sector players
- Revenues of $62+ million vs. $48 million.
- Net income 300 - 500% higher than $140K posted in 1Q 2011.
- 40c/share cash and ZERO debt.
- Revenues and earnings are expected to ramp up significantly starting this quarter (See EMC comments below): Guidance strong and bullish
The latest, and probably the most significant development for NEI, is the upcoming EMC's new product release during this quarter ending March 30. This could potentially be a game changer for NEI.
In a recent CC, NEI's CEO stated that a new program with EMC will enter the revenue stage this quarter:
http://www.wsw.com/webcast/mcm13/register.aspx?conf=mcm13&page=nei&url=http%3A//www.wsw.com/webcast/mcm13/nei/
For this reason, I expect a step change in revenues and net income going forward. Guidance will therefore be strong and bullish.
Note that in the presentation the the CEO is bullish about all product lines: Storage, Network Security, Telecom data/video (iPhone/iPad/droids/etc), Cloud computing, Other opportunities.
Also notice that while gross margin has decreased from 16 to 11% since last year, revenues have jumped 40%+. More importantly, operating costs have decreased because NEI is leveraging its large capacity to mass produce. The bottom line is that operating costs have decreased an amazing 17% to 10% during that time. The company expects stable margins and any new revenues will trickle straight down to the bottom line.
The article below includes a section entitled " Get Ready for The Storage Rocket Ride." The author recommends EMC as one on 5 top 2011 stocks. But since NEI is a main EMC supplier, what is good for EMC is good for NEI.
http://www.fool.com/investing/high-growth/2010/12/14/our-top-5-tech-stocks-for-2011-emc.aspx
Players in the hot "cloud computing" such as NEI are expected to grow significantly in the future (see Bryan Marshall's comments below). There is also significant consolidation in the sector making NEI an ideal buyout candidate.
Below are some recent developments highlighting the fact that NEI is in the right place at the right time.
========>>>
During the latest CC, NEI's CEO stated that revenues will jump significantly starting in 2Q 2011 (or the current quarter) ending March 30, 2011. The guidance forward will likely be very strong if NEI is participating in EMC's new grand product release.
