Definitely worth watching.......... ;)
I daytraded it and made a little. Now I would be very careful. This has a tiny 3 mil float. They didn't give a dollar amount on the contract. Definately worth watching for a future trade.Heres what smartmoney had to say,
A VAGUELY PROMISING press release and a tiny share float sent a small optics company's stock soaring.
Shares of LightPath Technologies (LPTH: 7.00, +1.94, +38.3%) rocketed 156% to a 21-month high of $6.40 Monday after the company signed a three-year agreement with defense contractor Ball Aerospace & Technologies. According to the press release, the deal gives Ball "the assurance of supply for fiber delivery systems used in laser delivery applications." Financial terms weren't disclosed.
"Ball Aerospace requested that we would commit to supplying the necessary components, should they win the contracts they are currently bidding on," says Rob Burrows, LightPath Technologies' chief financial officer. "At the moment, Ball has been awarded one work contract with the government. It asked that we continue to work with them in the future. This is the start of a long-term relationship, and Ball foresees it lasting at least three years."
Orlando, Fla.,-based LightPath has traditionally made lenses and other optical components for things like lasers, inspection equipment and medical scopes. Recently the company has developed fiber-optic products designed for use in the communications field. Examples include collimators, which improve signal strength and efficiency, and isolators, filters that reduce signal noise.
wow are you guys in. maybe their was a news leek on the amont of the contract.it does look risky. look like they were over 500 dollars in 1999. thanks for posting very interesting

You are right dennis - it's too risky. I couldn't find any info on the amount of the contract, although someone might know ;).
By pulling a weekly chart I see strong resistance @ $7.50 and would like to see closing above that level before taking a position ;).

I might look to buy some tomorrow in anticipation of the bounce. This one has proven to be an extremely fast mover...
