Title: RICK
Post by: newnewbie on January 18, 2006, 03:04:17 AM
RICK CONTINUES ITS UPWARDS MOVE....CHART LOOKING GREAT!

http://stockcharts.com/gallery/?RICK

REMINDER: RICK COULD REACH $20++ THIS YEAR....RECORD 1Q EARNINGS IN LESS THAN 2 WEEKS.

PER GUIDANCE THIS MONTH:

- 70% revenue growth in 2006 compared to 2005.

- 50c/share expected in 2006 vs. a 4c/share loss in 2005

- REMEMBER: RICK's FLOAT is only 3M SHARES

Details in blog:

http://rickto10.blogspot.com/

To trade at a forward P/E of 30 it would have to be trading at $15

To trade at a forward P/S of 3, it would have to be trading at $15

With a 3M float, it could trade at $25.

RICK reminds me of FORD, DXPE, BOOM, HURC, and other similar low-floaters before they made it BIG. I clearly remember when those stocks were trading under $4 a couple of years ago. Compared to them, RICK has a much smaller float and could be far more explosive with steady volume. Steady volume will become the norm after earnings in mid February

Myopic attitude? LMAO! For the same PPS as RICK I bought a bunch of SUF...hahahahahahahaha!

SUF is a pump and dump. They have NO revenues and never will.   That hot air balloon will deflate just as fast as it went up.

RICK will be higher than SUF at year's end. In fact, RICK might be trading above $20 this year.

- 70% revenue growth in 2006 compared to 2005.

SUF is a pump and dump.

SUF is not unlike every single stock that has ever been traded in the history of the world: It is worth EXACTLY what someone is willing to pay for it.

RICK, on the other hand is about to breakout....and this is why..

LOL :D Snap!!

Newb, you seem to have hit the nail on the head regarding SUF.  Oh the SUFfering!  I guess it was good today for the daytraders who bought in the low-10's and sold in the 12's, but longs SUFfered. I tried to short today but there were no shares available through Ameritrade.

There's a Rick's club in Seattle. The city enacted some draconian strip club laws last fall. Now there's a "4 foot rule" which means dancers and customers can't come within 4 feet of each other. I assume this eliminates lap dances. I wonder what's the point of a strip club then? Rick's will have to get its revenue growth from other cities.

Sucks to be an investor...hahaha!  ;D Volume and price action! That's really all that counts, IMHO . If you would have bought the original breakout of SUF, you'd still be up 100%+ even after today. Show me a breakout on great volume, I'll buy some RICK. If thats a myopic attitude to you, so be it...however, I would agrue that a myopic attitude is self-evident (http://www.3stocksonfire.org/trading/index.php?topic=4227.0).

Lucas,

Seattle's Rick's is a drop in a bucket for RICK. The new Manhattan club is a cash cow...and Wall Streeters don't mind paying $17 for a drink. BTW, our friend  Boooyyaa!!! was spotted at Rick's Manhattan several times. Rick's manhattan will contribute over $8M in revenues this year and about $M in net income (float is 3M).

I sold my DWCH to buy RICK a couple of weeks ago. I miissed the rally to $5++ but it doesn't matter now. I became concerned about the seasonality of their business. DWCH management was deceptively bullish in the 4Q 2005 CC and that eventually became a warning signal for me..... after hearing the CC over and over again. I believe DWCH will be OK in a few more querters after they diversify a little more to avoid the usual Q/Q choppiness of a growing software company.

RICK is a different story.....let's face it...beautiful women, good food, good atmosphere, alcohol, fun, sports, etc..are all recession proof...it doesn't matter if oil is $100...or gas $4.

Beautiful women are almost an afterthought at Rick's Cabarets. Typical Rick's customers are well-to-do professionals, bussiness owners, and just about every professional sports figure you can imagine. Rick's  food quality is better than most fancy restaurants. Rick's establishments are also well-equipped sports' bars. Since we have one sport or another in season year round, sports enthusiasts will always find Rick's atmosphere more fun (with   beautiful young ladies all around them  instead of their  girlfriends/wives).

Harsh!! ;D  Newb, I'm gonna take Richard's side on that point though. If you change your stance on a stock a day or two after touting it, you should update the thread. So for DWCH, an update like "DWCH is a pig, I am selling the POS immediately" would have been appropo.

Regarding RICK, from the Jan 5 press release: "The company did not change previously announced guidance for fiscal 2006 of revenues in the $23 -$24 million range and net income of about $2 million." So one could argue that RICK's good numbers are already priced into the stock. :-\ We'll see

I don't think the current price reflects the $2M net income the company expects for this year. Most investors nowadays don't take/patience to llok at the details. I bet they don't even know that $2M equates to about 50c/share. Furthermore, investors like to chase hot stocks and RICK will be a hot stock after earnings.

Lucas, I feel like you're ignorant in this situation.

Did you miss the whole wiseman scandal?  This is the same guy.  He picks the same bs low-float stocks, and pumps them the same way also.  This stock has traded 20,000 shares today.  Maybe he's right, and people will like the earnings.  I'd just hope I'm out by the time the DUMP sets in.

BJ - I came aboard after the Wiseman scandal, but I know what transpired there. I'm not in RICK, just watching. Yeah, Newb's rating is pretty horrendous. However, it could be that he pissed a couple people off and they're smiting him every time they check this thread. The ol' serial smiter scenario. I hope that's not the case. RICK's chart looks pretty good. We'll see what happens with it after earnings. For now I'll keep it on my watchlist. It doesn't look like a pump and dump to me. Newb is pumping it, but it could just be that he really loves the stock. If we start seeing "RICK to $10 by next Friday" on dozens of Yahoo Finance message boards, then we'll know it's a p&d. For now, I am remaining objective.

Rick's Falls on Stock Manipulation Scam
Friday March 24, 7:10 pm ET
Rick's Cabaret Tumbles After Reaching Year-High; Stock Named Among Those Allegedly Manipulated in Scam

NEW YORK (AP) -- Rick's Cabaret International Inc., which operates a string of gentlemen's clubs, saw its shares fall on Friday -- a day after they reached a 52-week high -- as it was named among the stocks that were artificially manipulated in a scam by members of two organized-crime families.

Shares of the Houston-based company fell 45 cents, or 7.3 percent, to close at $5.75 on the Nasdaq. Trading volume was nearly four times its daily average. The stock hit a 52-week high $6.30 on Thursday, and traded at a year low of $2.55 in June 2005.

According to an indictment handed down by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, members of the Colombo and Luchese crime families falsely inflated the prices of more than a dozen stocks by promoting penny stocks -- shares that sell for less than $1 per share -- before selling their own personal holdings at a profit.

Rick's Cabaret President and CEO Eric Langan said in a statement, "We have never heard of any of the people named in this reported Justice Department indictment, we have no relationship with any of them, and we know nothing about these allegations. The first we ever heard of these charges was when we read about them in The Wall Street Journal. Our stock trades in an orderly and transparent fashion and has done so for many years."

The companies whose stocks were involved were not accused of any wrongdoing. In its Friday edition, The Wall Street Journal reported that the stock scheme was part of a broader racketeering case in Brooklyn.

Ten members and associates of the crime families were indicted in Brooklyn, N.Y., federal court on March 16 on charges that include racketeering, conspiracy and extortion. The indictment was unsealed Thursday.

The indictment said the men, who were charged with a spate of racketeering charges, allegedly controlled at least 15 branch offices of brokerage firms in the New York City area and used "high-pressure, false and misleading sales pitches and scripts to convince investors to purchase house stocks."

The indictment also said the accused threatened brokers with physical harm to protect their financial interest.

"Brokers assured investors that the price of the house stocks would rise quickly and made claims exalting the companies' business prospects, although the companies routinely did little or no business," according to the indictment.

Very interesting article. Thanks for sharing Gambler. Newnewbie is still here operating under the alias "terabemo." His last three pumps have been TRBM, INSM, and currently DGSE. DGSE looks ripe for manipulation - only 2300 shares traded Friday. I wonder if newbie/terabemo is part of the Colombo or Luchese family, or if he was strong-armed into this scam by the mob.

Thursday December 28, 9:00 am ET
Conference Call to Discuss Results Scheduled for Dec. 28th at 4:30 p.m. ET

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rick's Cabaret International, Inc. (NASDAQ: RICK - News), the publicly traded chain of gentlemen's clubs, reported revenues of $24,487,215 for the year ending September 30, 2006, a 65 percent increase over the previous year's total of $14,824,407. The company had net income from operations of $1,752,714 for its fiscal year ending September 30, 2006, compared with a loss of $215,148 in the prior year.

The company said it earned 38 cents per basic share for the year, compared with a loss of five cents per basic share in fiscal 2005. The net income for the year was impacted by one-time events totaling $320,000 for settlement of a lawsuit, loss on a real estate transaction and goodwill impairment, plus a loss of $330,000 in connection with newly acquired clubs.

"The excellent performance of Rick's Cabaret-New York City gave us a strong revenue boost for the fiscal year and this club continues to grow steadily each month," said Eric Langan, President and CEO of Rick's Cabaret. "Our growth program is on track and we are looking forward to another strong year in 2007 from our existing clubs and the four acquisitions we have made recently. We will also continue to look at additional acquisitions that fit our business model and can be quickly accretive."

Mr. Langan will host a conference call to discuss the results at 4:30 p.m. ET December 28th. Callers in the United States can participate by calling toll free, 877-407-8031. International callers should dial 201-689-8031. The conference call will be available at ricks.com and through Vcall at http://www.vcall.com/IC/CEPage.asp?ID=112421. The replay passcodes (both required for playback) are account number 286 and Conference ID number 225251.

Highlights from the company's Form 10KSB filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission include:

    * The 65.18 percent increase in revenues in 2006 over the previous year came from stronger revenues at both new and existing nightclubs, including the New York location, which contributed for a full twelve months compared to one month in 2005.
    * Revenues from nightclub operations for same-location-same-period increased by 25.12 percent year over year.
    * Income from continuing operations for nightclub operations for the same-location-same-period increased by 51.26 percent year over year.
    * Internet revenue totaled $801,395 for the year, compared with $787,617 in the previous year. We expect to continue to grow our Internet profit centers by focusing on high margin activities.
    * Net income from operations for Internet businesses was $138,351 for the year compared with $114,501 for the previous year.
    * Net income for Internet operations for the same-website-same-period increased by 20.83 percent over the previous year.
    * At September 30, 2006, the company had cash and cash equivalents of $854,932 compared to $480,330 at September 30, 2005. Net cash provided by operating activities in the year was $2,725,770 compared to $2,090,030 for the previous year.
    * Cost of goods sold was 11.91 percent of total revenues compared to 12.59 percent of related revenues for the previous year.
    * General and administrative expenses for the year were $11,498,862 compared to $7,458,721 for the previous year, primarily because of the increase in taxes and permit, rent, legal and professional, utilities, insurance, plus advertising and marketing expenses from opening new locations and the New York City location, which was open for the full year.
    * Interest expense for the year was $1,057,020 compared with $699,678 in the previous year, due primarily to increase in debt for the purchase and renovation of the New York club. Long term debt is now $13,920,733, compared with $13,246,836 in the previous year.

Rick's Cabaret reported a weighted average number of common shares outstanding of 4,640,499 as of September 30, 2006, and a diluted total average of 5,065,962 shares. As of December 15, 2006 there were 5,334,515 shares outstanding.

I don't think I would buy here, What do you guys think? Beat the EPS consensus by a long shot, .20 vs .14, but only just met the rev consensus.

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rick's Cabaret International, Inc., the premier operator of upscale gentlemen's clubs, today reported record revenues of $15.46 million for its second quarter ended March 31, 2008 with net earnings of $2.60 million compared with $7.57 million and $492,344, respectively, for the same period last year. For its 2008 fiscal year the company said it expects to have sales of approximately $61 to $62 million, with after tax net income of about $10.5 to $11 million, on which it anticipates earning between $1.25 and $1.30 per fully diluted share. If spread over all of calendar 2008 revenues should equal about $68-$70 million, with net income of about $13 to $14 million and projected earnings of approximately $1.55 to $1.60 per fully diluted share.

The company's outlook for fiscal 2009 anticipates revenues of exceeding $100 million, with earnings per share in the $2.30 to $2.50 range per fully diluted share.

The 2008 projections do not include the closing of a previously announced acquisition in Las Vegas while the 2009 outlook does include the Las Vegas transaction and continued execution of the company's acquisition strategy.

These projections update the company's previous guidance issued on February 13, 2007 and April 1, 2008. The company operates on a fiscal year ending September 30. Some projections have also been stated on a calendar year basis for ease in comparison with other companies.
