Any thoughts about this "lady"??

I think that above 5 USD still continuing a good "buy".

Thanks in advance!

Title: Check out XIDE (exide Technologies)
Post by: jeff46902 on June 13, 2005, 04:59:18 PM
A few weeks ago, XIDE sustained a huge loss due to bad news.  According to the chart, the momentum appears to be picking up to the upside.  Do you think this stock will go back up to double digits and close the gap down?

one negative  opinion from yahoo msg board,

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
There is no news here. Lead is still stubbornly high.

Looks like a classic short squeeze. Tontine is probably going to start bailing out some. Catch this doggy for the ride back down very soon.

Tontine's board selection means nothing. Hedge funds have had their board selections in and out of the Exide board like a carousel.

looks nice.
It's amazing how the 3SOF volume can do to a stock, just like what livelife said in his swing trading ms - the institutions may be monitoring what is posted in 3SOF. It makes me wonder where those blocks are coming from.
Whoever the ax is could only hold the stock captive for so long.
By the way, on my paper trade, I'm in at 5.90 with a stop loss of 5.80.
I believe 3SOF members that are day traders help push the stock up with their volume to hit that trigger point where the shorts have to cover.
No one can know for sure what the other person is thinking that is why it's good to have a stop loss according to the trader's risk level.

XIDE is looking great with a high of $6.15 :)

I don't think we have any effect on a stock with this volume ;D

WooHoo!

In my list of about 50 stocks, XIDE is the closest one that meets my criteria today.
1) Stock below $10
2)  Weekly golden cross
3) Above Weekly 8 sma
4) Above the previous week's High
5) positive net price
6) Volume at least 100,00
7) It still has to be at least 0.25 above the open
8) I need to see a block of at least 25,000 shares
9) I need to see the bid refreshing
10) and the suspected Ax giving way

I may be wrong, but the way I look at it is if someone bought a stock with 50,000 shares at 6.00 that someone is expecting their pick to go up to make money.
How high? ::)

Would someone please enlighten me?
If a stock is uptrending, The biggest gainer out of at least 50 stocks below $10, and other positive technical indicators - who or why would someone sell short?

Taking some off here ;)

It makes me wonder how much impact it would be on a stock if 3SOF members concentrate on 1 stock for the day just to "tickle" that trigger point where the shorts have to cut their loss and cover.

Tickle 7$ ;D

Watch out for that 6.95 - 6.96  resistance. Double top in 15 min chart.
In paper trade I'm out At 6.80.
Would have been a $900 profit in 2 days!
When I was trading with real money, my hardest challenge was to take profit and ended up negative.
I'm back to paper trading until I'm disciplined enough to get out when my indicators tell me to get out.
If the stock flies higher, so be it. Good for those who have more risk tolerance.
I'm learning a lot here at 3SOF and thankful for any insight to improve my trading.
I believe that the more consensus from the trading community the better the chances are for the trader.
Imagine 5 trading schools teaching different trading styles seen by the trader happening at the same time.

"XIDE" Threads have been Merged.
Please use the search before starting new threads on a Stock Pick.
Chances are a thread already exist.
So why not post whatever you have to comment about on that pick to that thread.

congratulations boatguy!
Today, I'm paper trading ONNN. In at 9.31 with a stop loss of 9.21.
That 71,300 block bought at $9.38 would probably like to make some money ;D
How high? ::)

Ooops. Watch out that 73,000 block may be irrelevant now. Blocks over 100,000 came in at ONNN.

XIDE will be staying in my list of about 50 stocks.
Next time I get in may be with real money already.
It's just today ONNN looked more interesting.
I don't want to get too attached to a particlar stock.
Just looking to trade it - Buying High to sell Higher.

Breakout ;D

Needs to hold 8.30
Title: Re: XIDE

typical!  sold my XIDE yesterday because I was nervous about earnings for this company that seemingly has no historical earnings visibility, while at the same time held onto my AMKR over earnings because I was relatively confident that earnings would be solid.  As it turns out, AMKR post solid numbers, beating expectations, and tank 10%, while XIDE post a narrower loss (but still a loss), and the stock jumps 15%.  Sometimes the markets really make no sense to me (hense I get burned).  Bummer  :P

Looking at 8.38 being broken.
In at 8.42
Out at 8.65
This may still go up though.
I just don't like holding overnight.

Gas Vehicle Play Dips; Electric Car Stocks Rally...

Positive sentiment was also spurred by car battery maker Exide Technologies(XIDE), which reported a significant beat of Wall Street's earnings expectations for its latest quarter, and saw its stock jump more than 13% on Tuesday.

Like turn around,
good run up but way undervalued. Like what I read.
