Hansen Natural Declares Stock Split
Monday July 18, 8:50 am ET
Hansen Natural Board Declares 2-For-1 Stock Split

CORONA, Calif. (AP) -- Hansen Natural Corp., a maker of fruit juices, iced teas and other drinks, on Monday declared a 2-for-1 stock split, a move it said was aimed at bolstering the liquidity of its stock trading.
Under the stock split, which will be effected in the form of a stock dividend, shareholders will receive one additional share for each share they already own. The new shares will be distributed on or after Aug. 8 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on Aug. 1, Hansen said. The company's stock closed at $97.80 on Friday on the Nasdaq.

After the stock split, Hansen said it would have about 22.1 million shares of outstanding stock, up from about 11.05 million shares currently outstanding. The stock will begin to trade on a post-split basis on Aug. 9, Hansen said.

I bought this in the mid 40's this spring and sold before the split in the low 90's.  It had some volatility at that point before rocketing up to it's split level and now continuing higher. >:(  One of those stocks you wish you would have held onto...

Don't feel bad about buying at $40 and selling at $90.  I bought HANS at $4.10/share, when the market cap was $40MM, in the summer of 2003, which is $2.05 split adusted.  I sold at $3.00, split adjusted.

If I would have held, my return would be sitting at 3,650% now. :'(

Stopped out for a small gain. I had moved my stop just shy of $90 (just above the breakout point, below the 20ema and above my entry point). I wasn't prepared to let this one fall below the breakout entry.

Will see how HANS shapes up again. I thought the breakout would hold after it shot though $100.....maybe next time.

Downgrade today.  Working it's way back above support.

It's funny how some of these brokers do this.  This past Monday, Hansen reported their earnings date which will be next Monday.  Citigroup downgrades the stock to a Hold today:

"Gregory Badishkanian, an analyst at Citigroup, said in an Aug. 2 note that while the company is well-positioned to capitalize on favorable industry trends in the long term and had strong results in the fourth and first quarters, "we find the stock less compelling given that it has appreciated 42 percent over the past four months."

He noted the stock is at about $46 per share, approaching his $51 target price.

He cut his rating to "Hold" from "Buy" based on valuation."

So, it's the last 42% that's bothering him and not the previous, what over 1000% price appreciation?!? ??? ;)  And he still maintains his price target of $51 although he's saying not to buy anymore but just hang onto your shares?

Analysts eh, who'd trust them ;) Now after great earnings report HANS being crushed down to the 200ema/sma $32 area. The market is selling off hard some of last years super stars even when they have god earnings NTRI, HANS just being two. That is fine because it is time for new stocks to take centre stage and put in the type of runs that these stocks have seen.

The only problem is finding those new stocks.

That's where this community comes into play :D

Triple bottom, with well established support at ~ $25.

Selling volume diminishing, bottom is in, techs are deeply oversold. Short trap seems certain. Confirmation met twice with buying on heavy volume and large % increase in pps. Whipsaw action shows Market Makers are playing momentum while accumulating and covering their short positions. Retail Capitulation is well behind HANS now, and now the up game will begin.

Those who are bailing are already bailed. MM's are in control and will take it to where the volume is next (higher prices coming).

Hansen has already stated that the options issue will not have a material effect on earnings, past or present. This is a low level concern at best. With the current numbers and increased earnings and proven growth track record, this latest dip to the triple bottom is the final shakeout of the last of the weak hands.

HANS will gap up and run up strong as soon as the Market Makers get their shares and instill a little more fear. It could happen today, Monday morning, but regardless - a company this strong financially and with this kind of proven growth will be in great demand for funds and retailers in the know. The rest will follow along as usual.

Many funds have been looking for this kind of selloff, to begin buying and this selloff was way too overdone. Even analysts agree the target value is $45 still.

Support at $25, gap-fill takes it to $42 approx.

Recommended buy is $25.25

Target PPS is $42.50

General Overview:

- Technical analysis says HANS is stuck in a trading range
- Long term fundamental trends are outstanding. Net profit margin of 18% is awesome.
- Great stock but looks fairly valued now. Would consider it on a dip to the lower end of the trading range.

Long Term Outlook: Positive
