Nice news on SCLN this morning. Chart looks like it has room to run to 4, but I'll be waiting for a dip to get in. Could be a run away gap up, if so I'll stay on sidelines.
I do not think you will see a dip till around 4.
EMIS volume is drying out still watching.I would like to see vol on track to 400000+
Will still be looking at EMIS but volume has to come back. One more pick I will be watching tommorrow WTSLA.vol. is picking up.Wet seal inc.will have their earnings out on the 23rd.They are expected to earn .03.
In January 2005 we initiated the primary component of our turnaround strategy, our new merchandise approach for our Wet Seal brand. This approach, among other things, consisted of lower retail prices, a broader assortment of fashion-right merchandise and more frequent delivery of fresh merchandise. Since the introduction of this new strategy, we have experienced comparable store sales growth of 29.8%, 55.9% and 46.6% for the fiscal quarters ended April 30, 2005, July 30, 2005 and October 29, 2005, respectively. The recent comparable store sales trend has resulted entirely from increased transaction counts. The acceleration of comparable store sales results continues to validate our merchandise strategy for our Wet Seal business. As a result of our improving sales trend and the completion of our Wet Seal division store closure plan, we experienced a significant improvement in our net loss from continuing operations for the 13-week and 39-week periods ended October 29, 2005 versus the same periods a year ago. Gross margin expanded to 30.8% and 31.7% of sales, respectively, for the 13-week and 39-week periods ended October 29, 2005, versus 16.5% and 13.7%, respectively, for the comparable periods a year ago, driven by the improving sales in existing stores, lower merchandise markdowns and the benefits of closing low volume stores. Our current operating performance trend and recent financing transactions have resulted in increased liquidity for the Company and, in turn, improved our current credit standing with suppliers, which may further improve our liquidity. However, we cannot assure you that we will not experience future declines in comparable store sales. If our current sales trends do not continue and our comparable store sales drop significantly, this could impact our operating cash flow and we may be forced to seek alternatives to address our cash constraints, including seeking additional debt and/or equity financing
This was the forward looking statement from last qtr.Last line talks about posible cash constraints if certain criterias are not met.Yet cash shown on yahoo balance sheet for the company is 70.23.If I do buy it tommorrow I will have to keep the trigger hot.
EMIS is done for now.Doesn't look like we are going to see the vol.coming back today.
WTSLA , vol. at this point is inline to hit a million+.I will buy if it breaks 5.85.Also looking at TMTA,got interested in it after looking at the post on the board.Intraday 1min. chart seems to be making a good double bottom.Intersting if it crosses 2.13.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of Extreme Networks Inc., a Santa Clara, Calif.-based maker of ethernet switches, shot up Monday after an analyst upgraded the stock and suggested the company could make an attractive takeover target.
Shares of Extreme Networks, which have traded between $4.02 and $6.25 over the last year, were up 21 cents, or 4.2 percent, at $5.20 in heavy midday trading on the Nasdaq.
Prudential analyst Inder Singh upgraded the stock Monday to "Neutral Weight" from "Underweight" and said downside in share price could be limited by the company's financial position and new product cycle.
"Extreme is at the front end of a product cycle with a particular focus on the carrier ethernet market with the new Black Diamond 12K platform. While any new product introduction entails a high degree of risk, a solid market reception could help the company to generate additional revenue growth," Singh wrote in a research note.
"We believe the company may also represent an attractive takeout candidate for financial or strategic buyers attracted to its upcoming products or solid financials along with the ability to bring exposure to the metro ethernet market at an attractive valuation relative to Foundry Networks Inc. and Cisco Systems," he added.
Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expect the Extreme Networks to earn, on average, 23 cents per share on $383.7 million in revenue for the year

NAPS:
Piper Jaffray maintained an "outperform" rating and $6 price target on Napster after the company announced Thursday that it will exceed its previously provided guidance for its fiscal fourth quarter.
"Today's positive preannouncement shows that Napster subscription adds are tracking ahead of plan and provide us with more confidence that the company will remain healthy as it works to launch the new Napster.com," wrote analyst Gene Munster in a Thursday research report.
Napster (nasdaq: NAPS - news - people ) indicated that revenue will exceed $26 million, while current Street consensus calls for $25 million. The net loss for the quarter is expected to be "substantially better" than the company's current guidance range. The total subscriber count in the quarter grew to more than 600,000. Munster had been modeling for 573,000 at quarter's end.
The company also exceeded the analyst's expectations on expense control in the quarter. Cash and equivalents at the end of the March quarter were more than $103 million. Munster was expecting a cash balance of $96.1 million.
Napster will report final fourth-quarter results on May 17

I will be posting my picks and my thoughts on the market this weekend as market is closed tomorrow.
Markets have been choppy at best.Future looks to be heading towards downside but it is hard to say.It has been like a seesaw up one day and down two.Hard to make money if you are diversified and easy to loose money if you are concentrating on one or two industries.Telecom, and semi conductors had a good run up and are now showing sign of weakness,Metals and mining are still showing strength but one has to wonder ,how much longer?.Energies will be strong in the near future but I have a hard time picking stocks as most of the good companies are up there in price already I did like EPL though,as it seems to have a little room to go.Gas should pick up strength going into summer.Historically gas has always been around 1/6th of Oil price but that is not the case anymore so I believe that gap has to be filled somewhat and as I don't see oil prices slipping too much i will have to favour gas to go higher.
The new picks for Monday.

Miles Flint, the president of Sony Ericsson, says that television on mobile phones will become a mass market feature in a couple of years. Uncertainty over which of the seemingly endless array or technologies will emerge as the standard, could slow down the development. "We see that coming, but I don't think that it is going to be a real volume market in 2006. It is certainly on the horizon," said Flint. He suggested that 2007 or 2008 is when it will really take hold

What a day.
AMTD closed at 20.89 still in red.
sanm 4.01 still in red.
RSTO closed at 6.30 unfortunately I sold it earlier for 6.19 buy was 5.95 4% profit.
Naps closed at 4.15 which brings me to around break even I will sell if it goes below 3.95.
UTSI closed at 6.83 buy was at 6.75 so now I am in green.
TUNE closed at 6.33 buy was at 5.95.
KOPNclosed at 5.68 bought at 5.35.
Bucy would have been a good one but I hesitated to pull the trigger and than it was too late,so I walked away from it.
Tomorrow I will be looking at PPP (pogo petroleum)Technically it looks fair but what I noticed was the valuation as compared to it"s competition.
PPP curent p/e 4.26 and forward p/e 7.94.I will use 7.94 as the number for my calculations.
P/E Industry average for the competition 15.26.
Fair p/E conservatively speaking is around 11.(XOM,BP,)
PPP current price 52.54/7.94(p/e)=6.617x11(avg p/e)=72.78
So the fair value lies somewhere around $72.
Than there is the news about POGO buying Latigo petroleum which will increase Pogo's reserves. One good thing about Latigos reserve is that they are one half oil and one half gas.
Another piece of good news that came out on the 5th of APRIL.
Sharing Contract for Block 124 Offshore Vietnam
Wednesday April 5, 5:42 pm ET
HOUSTON, April 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pogo Producing Company (NYSE: PPP - News; "Pogo") announced today that it has signed a Production Sharing Contract for Block 124 offshore Vietnam in the Phu Khanh Basin. Pogo will serve as operator of the block and will have a 100% working interest. Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation ("PetroVietnam") reserves the right to elect to participate in any oil and gas discovery with up to a 20% working interest upon declaration of commerciality.
Block 124 covers approximately 1,480,000 acres and abuts the eastern coastline of Vietnam, northeast of Ho Chi Minh City. The exploratory phase of the contract is seven years, with a firm minimum work program during the first three years that includes the acquisition of new 3-D seismic data and the drilling of two exploratory wells. The exploratory phase is followed by two optional two-year periods during which a well must be drilled in order to retain the acreage. Pogo has acted promptly, with the vital cooperation of PetroVietnam, to begin acquiring some 850 square kilometers (209,000 acres) of 3-D seismic data as early as the third quarter of this year.
Pogo's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Paul G. Van Wagenen, said, "Pogo's preliminary analysis of prospectivity, utilizing existing 2-D seismic data, indicates the presence of several promising leads in Miocene and Paleozoic age rocks. We are pleased to be able to accelerate our 3-D seismic data acquisition program in order to explore this promising and high-potential block at the earliest possible time."
Pogo Producing Company explores for, develops and produces oil and natural gas. Headquartered in Houston, Pogo owns approximately 3,885,000 gross leasehold acres in major oil and gas provinces in North America, 1,044,000 acres in New Zealand and 1,480,000 acres in Vietnam. Pogo common stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "PPP."
Another good day.
I should have picked BUCY yesterday It had a huge move today, but I didn't.
AMTD 22.10 in green finally buy was 21.25
Sanm 4 still in red It has to cross 4.12 to make a substantial move to the upside.
Naps 4.34 buy was at 4.14
UTSI 7.06 buy was at 6.75
Tune 6.62 buy was at 5.95
KOPN 5.53 buy was at 5.35

Akclide, u should post ur total performance also so we can follow this thread ;)
I will try to post my total performance every weekend.I do not get a chance to calculate the running totals everyday.Sometimes I just have an hour to hour and a half in the morning and about the same in the evening. The reason why I started this was 2 folds.
1) it shows you what I am buying and selling may help somebody because I know most of you guys are better trader than I am and do not need to look at my picks.
2) It makes me much more cautious and I check and double check my picks.Keeping me sharper than usual.
So at the end it helps my bottom line.

akclide,
A long overdue applause for your thread and for your hard work. I enjoy reading it. :)
Thank you I appreciate the vote of confidence.
Buying IP june 32.5 call for 3.25.
China has had a big apetite for paper for some time now but the price of paper has been high ,because wood has been selling higher as the natural gas was lot higher than what it is now.Since Natural gas has gone down it will most likely bring the price of wood down, which would mean better earnings for IP.
CRUS has now climbed to 10.11 buy was at 8.43 that is 19.9% profit still holding as it has a lot of free air space.
Naps currently at 4.42 buy 4.14 6.7 % I am noy very comfortable with this one,A lot of competition and some at better price but I will hold for now Will sell it if it closes below 4.32.Target is 5

Item 8.01 Other Events.
On April 26, 2006, the Company issued a press release announcing that it has signed contracts with Sun Drilling LLP for the provision of three drilling rigs and one completion rig in the South Alibek Field in Kazakhstan.
For the year ended December 31, 2005, we produced 400,425 barrels ("Bbls") of crude oil, or an average of 1,097 Bbls per day (Bopd), as compared to 313,305 Bbls, or an average of 858 Bopd, for the year ended December 31, 2004 and 117,376 Bbls, or an average of 641 Bopd for the year ended December 31, 2003. The increase in 2005 when compared to 2004, and the increase in 2004 from 2003, are primarily a result of the Field having five wells contributing to production in 2005 as compared to three wells in 2004 and only one well in 2003, and the Field being on production throughout 2004 versus only six months in 2003, as production from the Field commenced in July of 2003.
``I am extremely pleased to report these new contracts to our stockholders. Together with the Great Wall rig that arrived in January, we now have contracted six total rigs for the field,'' stated Lorrie T. Olivier, President and Chief Executive Officer of Transmeridian. ``Procuring these rigs has put us in better position to reach our stated goal of drilling 12 new wells in 2006 and achieving production of at least 10,000 barrels per day by year end.''
FROM 1097 bbls p/d in the year 2005 they qre trying to go to atleast 10000 bbls per day.Now that's what I call a big jump.

Sun's Big Open-Source Bet
Jonathan Schwartz could upend the company's business model to one that's dependent on software. But he has some big changes to make first

An astonishing thing has happened at Sun Microsystems. A company built on high margins from hardware sales is now turning upside down and going soft. The face of this transformation is the freshly minted CEO and former McKinsey consultant Jonathan Schwartz. Originally a numbers guy turned software evangelist, Schwartz is almost certainly committing Sun (SUNW) to a future with a business model centered on software -- open source software. Advertisement
But the challenges are many. Sun historically has been a hardware company. Indeed, former Sun CEO (and current chairman) Scott McNealy is famous for once stating that software would someday be free. Little did he know that his successor would have to build a business model on that prediction.
Over the last 20 years, Sun and its brilliant research and development operation consistently delivered some of the biggest, baddest, fastest workstations and servers based on the UNIX operating system. They charged a premium for that performance. And when they built or acquired terrific software like Solaris and Java, it was seen by management as a loss leader to move more hardware.
UP A CREEK. Sun won on hardware in large part because it embraced open standards before its competitors did. Examples abound. But perhaps the key decision was its call in 1984 to make open its NFS (Network File System) technology for retrieving files across a network. That put a rocket under early sales of Sun workstations that came to dominate the UNIX desktop market. Openness differentiated Sun, customers liked that, and Sun seized its comparative advantage in the market.
Can open save Sun again? That is the challenge before Schwartz today. Many of my colleagues in the open-source community are cynical about Sun's commitment to open source. When the dot-com and telecom booms burst in 2000 and 2001, Sun's share price collapsed, too. Sun was late to move business from its proprietary hardware to systems built on Intel (INTC) architecture. At the same time, Sun missed the open-source Linux boat and has been paddling furiously to catch up ever since. Last year, Sun made its flagship operating system -- Solaris -- available as open source. Sort of.
You see, Sun wrote its own open-source license. It's a license that many in the open-source community don't like, and with good reason. Unlike with Linux, all the rights to any changes to the source code for Solaris go back to Sun. So any developers contributing to Solaris are literally working for Sun for free.
OPENNESS IN OPEN. In my experience, people will work for free when they see that work as contributing to the greater common good -- but not to the bottom line of a global computing vendor. This part of Sun's strategy escapes me. Time will tell if Schwartz can build a viable software ecosystem and vibrant development community around this approach. Linux works because thousands of developers willingly contribute code and thousands of vendors build solutions for customers around a truly open platform with the benefits -- and costs -- shared by all.
But open can mean more than access to source code. In many ways, Schwartz is a very open CEO, and I think he has made Sun interesting again. He's candid and open with customers. He does not appear to have sacred cows at the company. And he writes one of the most open, and interesting, executive blogs in IT.
As Schwartz shifts the company from a hardware to an open-source software business model -- moving from the sale of software licenses to subscription fees for "free software" -- Sun increasingly resembles the most successful open-source software company in the market today, Red Hat (RHAT). Red Hat shares are up more than 150% in the past year, triple the increase in Sun shares.
HOW ABOUT JAVA? Of course, Sun's cost structure will have to change as well. It's hard to be taken seriously as a software company when most of your revenue comes from hardware. Sun helped destroy Digital Equipment 20 years ago, when that company couldn't change its cost structure quickly enough and got consumed in its own DEC spiral.
Maybe it's time for Schwartz to double down on his open-software bet. He ought to consider selling off Sun's legacy SPARC processor line (after all, he doesn't want to get trapped in a DEC spiral either). The next move: take the AMD (AMD) Opteron server business offshore -- and voila, Sun truly becomes a software company.
Then Schwartz has an opportunity to dramatically change the software playing field and at the same time give back to the open-source community that's so critical to Sun's future success.
If open source is good for Solaris, isn't it time that Sun freed Java under an open-source license? And while you're at it, why not make your Microsoft Office clone, OpenOffice, truly open? Set it free, too. Liberated from Sun's ownership, OpenOffice could be the best hammer ever to break the Microsoft (MSFT) desktop monopoly. And that creates more business opportunities for Sun, the great new open-software company.
Stuart Cohen is CEO of the Open Source Development Labs (OSDL), a not-for-profit consortium of IT vendors, Linux developers, and Global 2000 companies

movi 3.16 earnings in the morning, fingure is on the trigger.
akclide,
Drat! It's up 71% in the pre-market at 5.40, above the 5.30 Ascending Triangle target IN PLAY on the breakout.
>:( >:D
Great looking Bullish Island Reversal and Ascending Triangle, but I didn't want to buy it ahead of earnings. Since the target looks like it will get MADE at the open, I might thinking about shorting a 71% gap.
>:D >:D >:D
Just woke up.I am not going to be greedy and sell movi here .CC is coming up and anything said will bring this stock just as fast.

Just woke up.I am not going to be greedy and sell movi here .CC is coming up and anything said will bring this stock just as fast.
akclide,
Always good to take a profit. Applause. I was going to short the 5.30 target, but it got only to 5.19. It's now at 4.80. It might get another pop on the cc.
62.64% of the float was short. 6.6 days to cover, or volume of 16,173,000 shares. MOVI already has traded 16,451,000 shares, so a lot of the shorts have covered.
Not only that I believe it is among the dying breed. They mentioned that the same store sales went down.I did not find it anywhere in the release yet but I suspect most of the revenue came from selling the properties they owned.I think they had done a lot of sale, lease back to generate cash flow.I only played because of the momentum it had shown a couple of days ago and I liked the chart action.
akclide,
Drat! I tried to short it at the 5.30 target. Scottrade had "no shares available to short." Waterhouse said, "You can't short a stock under $5.00." It isn't under $5.00.
>:(
Oh, well...
The high so far is 5.35

akclide,
Drat! I tried to short it at the 5.30 target. Scottrade had "no shares available to short." Waterhouse said, "You can't short a stock under $5.00." It isn't under $5.00.
>:(
Oh, well...
The high so far is 5.35
akclide,
Sour grapes on my part, admittedly, but it really fries me that there were "no shares available to short' at our 5.30 target. How could that possibly be, when all of the 6.6 days to cover already had been traded well before my putting in the short?
Okay, some of them were new longs on the gap up, but NO shares available to short, when they squeezed the begeezus out of the shorts at the open?
It kinda fries me to see that I'd have a gain of 10% at the 4.78 close, which would have been nice on a lousy day in the market.
:( >:D
Sorry for the rant. Okay, I feel better now. ;D ;D
Thanks again for your work on MOVI. Applause.
sold movi for a nice gain sell price 5.07
rest of them holding.Needless to say everything is down today.I am not too keen on buying anything tomorrow.I will keep an eye on VSGN.It is playing around its 50 dma.Infact it acually opened and closed at it's 50 dma.Vol. is not the best but not the worst either

Check this out. Todays total volume in VSGN july 2.50 calls was more than 51,000 contracts. about 5.1 million shares. Someone must know something.
Thanks Ducmon,
A lot of retail buying today.Key points to look at would be 2.10 (50 d m a) and 2.38 200 d m a. I will be looking at it closely tomorrow.

earnings on 3rd may.surprises to the the upside have been very good in the past.Institutional buying since Dec 06 have been big. In fact institutions own about 41%. price sitting at 52 wk high.Technically looks great.
finally MTW put on a good show today.earnings on 2nd may.closing price was at 52 wk high.Chart had made a very stable base and today broke that base.Looks to have the momentum to carry it furthur.
CAMH did very well today , 5.4% gain on higher volume and best of all it closed at a new 52 wk. high. Going up from here.
IMMR still looks good but looks to be taking a breather.
MTW looked good but closed up slightly.Still looks like a winner.
Only thing that looked good was TGB.Copper is going higher.Technically it closed a 10 month old gap .Possible some quick gains here.
Not much has changed a few bumps here and there. So I started th think how can i make some quick money.I decided to play the earnings play for this coming week.Long options seems to be the way to go.So here is my list for the next 5 days.

AVT good, Bwa Great,CSH had a good swing pre earning sold and made some Lyo lost a little Sway made a little
Zeus looks like will loose a little but CMI saved the week.Great returns.
Over all I did come out ahead and that is how i play my game sometime.work on averages. Most importantly if you have a plan that has done okay in the past stick to it. It will pay off .

New ones that I am buying CHK
Otex
Acls
Lost money on all three of my option picks.also got out of Immr loosing and camh making a little.Overall it was not so bad.
I will be looking at the action on
AL
CBM
CPO
MT
OSK
Special attention on MT and OSK for an option trade.I will be buying TMR because looking at their production numbers and the average price of natural gas for the past quarter I believe the revenue will be higher and earnings will beat analysts as well.It is a speculative play but I tink and hope that it is a good one.
Al was a great pick ,Only I was one day too late.Story of my life.
Took position in CBM bought 10 JUne 11 call for 1.25.
10 OSK 55 call for 4.8 (june expiration).
Also bought 1000 shares of FST.Hope to make a quick buck or two.Or dump it quick if it starts going south.Earnings are going to be out any time now.Little later I will post what I will be looking at tomorrow
Looking at CBI Made a very strong base from Jan 07 till end of march.Went up steadily with lower vol. Vo;. has been up since april 30yh 07.Trading in a channel b/w 35-37.Today's close was 35.31 and low was 35.08, very close to the bottom of the channel I believe it is ready to go up>Will watch the action to look for a good entry.
Still holding CBM Earnings tonight.
Still holdind OSK
Sold FST this morning made a ittle profit.Bought 1000 SGP just for a quick trade.Currently down .62 Hoping to make a $1 swing by tomorrow.I bought it at this level.(32.41)
Bought CBI june 30 calls when the stock opened .7 down.It has since gone green.
EDS June 27,5 calls are selling for 1.25.The stock has shown some positive movement after it went down just last wk. on earning news, which in my opinion were not bad.EDS has since gotten a fairly big contract worth ! billion over 8 yrs.
CBI has done really good
CBM is also in green.
OSK showing some strength.
EDS is hanging in there
I am holding all of them and adding KNXA option.Vol. is above average.Earnings and guidance were good. Got another contract.Got an upgrade.Yet stock did not move that much.I believe this option JUNE call in the money will prove to be a good one over the next 5-7 days.
CBI was covered as Cramer's pick in Mad Money.I should see a good pop.I am still holding all of the ones I talked about earlier today .
Stock for tomorrow MM(metal management).
It is a scrap company that processes Ferrous and non ferrous metals.
Hot sector
78 mil in cash with hardly any debt.Very heathy current ratio of 2.214
10 day average vol. 269786. Today's vol. 682500.
What I like best about this stock is that it has made 3 very strong bases this year.1st base starting may 06 ended mid Nov. 06(cup without handle) after that stock rose from 35 to 38.Second base a channel started mid Dec and ended april 07,rose from 41 to 50 right after that.Than it side tracked till today when it broke aver tight channel closing at 50.98 with volume. This break out has conviction.Time to shine.
Nothing Has changed.Little pull back was expected.Did not buy MM today but will still be looking at tomorrow. The way market moved today it seems to me that it may do the same tomorrow, may be not as bad.
Cbi option did okay today.
sold CBM this morning It was just a $300 gain ,but I will take that over a little loss any day.
CBI has done great and is taking a breather today.
KNXA was a good buy .Moving fairly well today.
EdS is alow mover but it is constantly gaining ground.
OSK has done really good this morning I will watch it today and may even take profits today.
ADDED MM this morning,do not like the vol.but let's see what happens.
SGP is not doing as good as I had hoped for it is a little in the red.I will wait another day or two.
MM jUNE 45 CALL PURCASED FOR 6.3
Current holdings
Calls:
CBI , good profit over 80%
KnxA over 75%
EDS very little up
OSK over 40%
MM close to even
Equity
SPG loosing a little
Looking at GDI
Has been working in a channel b/w 31-40/It closed at 40.01.Volume went up.I will have to confirm the price action But if it looks good monday morning I will be buying June 35 calls.
Other things to consider
Fwd. p/e 12.39
current ratio 1.882
lagging S&P 500 in 52 wk change
Earnings up
Guides higher
Looks like it can be a good trade.
Just sold my CBI calls very happy with the profits.
GDI price action is not favorable so I will pass on that.
Bought some CAT JUNE 72.5 calls for 4.3.
KnXA has good movement again.
Holding everything that I wrote about earlier.Lot will depend on CPI numbers.
Shopping list
Gpxm gold has taken a hit lately but I believe that is about to change.Weakness in dollar will continue raising the demand for gold.this is a small company that is engaged in gold mining. This is totally a speculative play so I would like to watch and if I decide to go in ,it will be for fairly short period.
ALJ a good refining play with a p/e of about 11.Refineries are going through shut downs causing a restricted supply.crack spreads are very high.Which will help the refiners to generate better bottom lines.Upgraded today by Lehman bros, broke out of a month long downward channel.
Sold EDS this morning just about broke even.
CAT still looking good holding
KNXA is pulling back but I believe this to be a minor correction holding
MM holding
OSK sold for about 25% profit.
SGP still holding
Still watching ALJ for entry.
Did not buy ALJ because some analyst decided to downgrade the refineries yesterday.
Trying to sell KNXA for 4.6
Holding MM,CAT and SGP.
Time to take a breather for day or two.See which way the chips fall.
I was able to sell Knxa for 4.6 which gave me about 33% Icould have made lot more.As long as it is green I do not want to get married to a stock.
I will watch the market as it evolves.Do like MS and FWLT here.
My stock portfolio has 25% in steel and it has not done much last few days . Shortage of steel and metal products is growing. The bridge that colapsed in San Fransisco recently can not be fixed in timely manner, reason given was that they could not find steel. Time to start looking at stocks in that sector for some quick profits.
CAT holding,Some idiot decided to downgrade.Sometimes I wonder how they come up with upgrades and downgrades.I believe they use such technical methods as
TAROT CARDS.
OLD FAITHFULL, PULL A NAME OUT OF THE HAT.
OR THE OLD, I HATE MY NEIGHBOUR'S CAT .SO ALL THE STOCKS THAT START WITH THE NAME CAT CAN NOT BE VERY GOOD.
Either way I will be looking to sell today or tomorrow and move on.Utilitie and their options are looking good today. Two names stand out EXC and PEG
EXC would be my choice as that is the company looking to start on a new atomic energy plant.Down .73 cents right now
Still holding CAT did not sell.
finally sold sgp.
mm still holding showed some promise friday.
Like CRDN for option play.IT did a pull back action friday for no good reason but profit taking.THis maker of light weight ceramic armor for soldiers has been looking good and with lots of talk about how lives of a few soldiers could have been saved with better armors should start some sparks in the price action of this stock.
Since I sold SGP,Idid buy vwpt and Home solution ,One more stock that comes to my attention is CHRD, Price hit 52 wk. high Friday. This software provider, primarily to Financial ser,Telecom,Retail sector, is in a very good position.Company has 71 M in cash and no debt.Beating analysts estimates and raising all kinds of guidence. Yet the stock only moved about 5% since the earning announcement on the 30th april.
i got in Crdn earlier. What a swing from a low of 64.5 this morning to 66.34 currently. Also bought Chrd this morning. After reading David's comments on Hsoa, I sold ,what few shares i had of Hsoa.
STLD is getting ready for another runup.Has taken it's breather, and filled up the gas tank.Watch this one.
Still holding CAT.
MM is in green not by much but it is in green
CRDN did great with it today and still holding/
CHRD moved a little,
Did not do anything with STLD,Just kept watching.
Like FTO a refinery play Fundamentally the stock is great better 5 yr. peg than the industry average.
P/e 10.62
Top 20 in Barron's 500 this past Sunday.
Volume has a been up.
Gasoline usage season starts next weekend.Enough reasons for me to look at the calls.
TNL I like for a very strange reason something I picked up in the chart trend. In the past one year whenever the stock's M. avgs ie 10,20,30 are converging to turn downwards stock reverses and goes up and when they are converging to turn upwards the stock price starts fallin. This is on of those situations.Plus the fact that stock belongs in electronic sector which lately is showing strength and improvement.Companies financial strngth is not bad at all
IO technically is looking very good.Fast approaching it's 52 wk. high. Belongs to S&P 600 small cap which had a great move up today and is ready break out to it's all time high and beyond.
Cat still holding went up .66 today\
MM lost .39 still holding.
Crdn went down today, Just broad market action.
Chrd had another 3.7% move
FTO stayed almost all day before it ended up down for the day I got in towars the end of the day.
TNL stayed down all day before it turned green.Did'nt like the vol. still watching.
IO got in stayed green pretty much all day I went in at 15.25 so I am a little neg.
I would like to see what the numbers are for oil and gasoline before I decide to buy something else.
Took Profits on Cat and CRDN .
Everything else still holding.Bought July in the money calls for toll brothers.Bldg. sector's chart shows a cup and a handle and breaking of the handle high.Toll is going to report earnings tomorrow.I think it is going to be a fair speculative play as I believe Toll will show that they have taken care of some of the inventory problems as that was the biggest issue last earning call.
MM should keep going up.Today's news about aquisition and the quick impact of that acquisition on their bottom line should bring it up.
Just bought some in the money July calls for PEG.I believe it is just a little pull back today. We should see oil prices going down tomorrow that shoul bring the price of Utility companies up including PEG.
current holdings that I have written about.
MM Still looking good
chrd down a little today.
IO in green
bought TOL calls
Bought peg calls
Towards the end of the day added SId .
Mr Green Spank's comment brought most of my portfolio down but tomorrow is going to be a higher day,Bulls will have the S&P in the record territory before the long weekend.(positive thinking)
sold Tol .
everything else is the same.
Added OSK and GMRK.Not a lot of time this morning
MM with that dive last week is in red but coming back nicely.
Peg is doing the same.
CHRD is still doing well.
IO has been on the right track .
SID has already come back to green, should have added some more on the dip but I didn't.
GMRK and Osk are stagnent for now.
Not lookin at anything in particular today but do like MICC, GME,and KOMG for calls
and CA ,IBM for a put (risky specially in case of IBM)Will do DD tonight for some changes in the portfolio tomorrow
Still holding everything as before.
Sid has done a great reversal will be cashing out today.
everything has not done anything dramatic.
APC JULY calls in the money look interesting and fairly priced.May do the swap when I sell SID.
Sold Sid towards the end of the day.
Did not get in APC before tomorrows inventory report.
MM holding
Peg should be ripe for picking tomorrow.
Can not complain about Chrd.
IO did great again today.GMRK was okay
Osk came up nicely.
I do not know yet as to what I will be playing as my option play tomorrow.i would like to see which way the market will turn.
Couple of small stocks that I may be looking to buy. PAM and THK, Thk looks lot more attractive and Pam may be able to give some very quick profits.
sold SID today, good profit
IO did great as well.
sold Chrd
kept everything else.
bought THK down a little today.
Looking to buy XTO and JOSB options and lookimg at TGB as an equity trade.
Is there any interest in mr writting this personal log.If not than I will stop writting on this and just post on the stock buying forum.
you're doing good.
don't stop.
keep up the good work.
:)
