Title: GSHF
Post by: eliteG on April 10, 2006, 11:53:17 PM
Profile: http://www.greenshift.com/whoweare.php?mode=1
GreenShift Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: GSHF) is a publicly traded business development company whose mission is to develop and support clean technologies and companies that facilitate the efficient use of natural resources and catalyze transformational environmental gains.

The Story

-The market is going crazy for alternative energy plays(specifically ethanol).. and GSHF delivers by the companies it owns.  GSHF owns majority positions in INSQ(+114.29% today), VRDM(+94.71% today) and more...

GreenShift's portfolio includes operating companies with combined annualized revenues of about $30 million and exclusive rights to over a dozen proprietary clean technologies.

Company    Nature of Business
» Enviro-Sciences Corporation    Environmental Engineering & Management Services
» Veridium Corporation(VRDM.ob)    Industrial Design & Technology Transfer Services
» INSEQ Corporation(INSQ.ob)    Manufacturing, Green Products & Recycling Services
» Mean Green BioFuels Corporation    BioFuels Production & Sales
» Sterling Planet, Inc.    Renewable Energy Sales
» TerraPass, Inc.    Renewable Energy Sales
» General Hydrogen, Inc.    Fuel Cell Technologies & Products
» General Ultrasonics Corporation    Clean Energy Technologies
» Aerogel Composites, Inc.    Clean Energy & Emissions Control Technologies
» Ovation Products Corporation    Water Purification Technologies & Products

-The price rise today came without news.  It also came on the first day of the week.  When a stock moves without news and early on in the week... it usually means that the move is more sustainable and could give us a huge price appreciation.  A technical analysis of this stock shows huge potential.

Technical Analysis

Longer-Term:

Shorter-Term:

Conclusion:  Remember this is a penny stock in a momentum move so it can be very risky.  We were considering a limit buy type order but this can very well just run away even with a gap.  A strong play on a Monday without news yet, with its subsidiaries running strong as well, with its industry group on a tear, with powerful technicals..with us not in it?  No way!

We will buy GSHF @ market open.

In at .24 here, wishiing I had waited until now at .2 lol

Newbie question here, but when I view my intraday charts (using etrade pro) on some of the penny stocks, I will often get a big tail down that warps the scale such that I dont really get much detail out of looking at the intraday chart.  Anyone have the same problem, and if so is there a fix or workaround?  Here is a picture of what I am seeing now:

Not looking great today. Luckily I bought VRDM yesterday and now have sold it before the dump. Shame cos i like these. I remeber G recommended GSHF a while back and I had some then, but now I have to look at the VRDM action (phew!) and wait a bit. Good luck All!

eliteG,

Did you enter GSHF?
In what price?

Thanks!

It looks like it stabilized at about a 50% pullback from the big run up. Last year that actually had a net income of $1.1M which is about a penny a share, pretty good for a stock trading at .19. After reading the letter to shareholders I decided to add more shares at this level. I think we will breakout to new highs soon.

Good Luck to us all,

That happens when a wrong price gets entered into the table of historical data. In the case of your graph, for GSHF 0.0235 was entered at 09:36 instead of what probably should have been 0.235. I see the same in my intraday chart on Ameritrade. I don't think there is anything we can do about it.

Woefully lacking timely information on this one to paying customers.  I am in at .20

One can only assume 3sof is in at the open of the market around .23, what is the trading plan other than buying?  Unknown.  Shouldn't be at this point, plain and simple.
Title: Re: Alternative Hotty: GSHF
Post by: eliteG on April 11, 2006, 12:36:23 PM

We've bought GSHF as per plan.. it will be up on the portfolio.  As we always do we will talk about exit plans on the next update.  The plan for today was to get in this stock and its hanging around its support @ .20.  Market is down heavy.. so this is expected.
Title: Re: Alternative Hotty: GSHF
Post by: oicpecnoc on April 11, 2006, 01:15:34 PM
G,

Its the practice of posting the "in" price on a number of occasions quickly that leads people to wonder if you got in G. If the plan is all that is necessary, there would be no reason to have posted "in" prices quickly in the past.   I would also say that once a stock is down 16% of an entry price, it is never too soon to discuss the exit plan.  As it stands, if it went to .08 today it would be a hold, which would make no sense.  It would not be the first time a penny has went from 24 to 8 in 1 day.  I know my plan, but I do like to weigh my plan verses 3sof.  Certain stocks of high volatitlity ought to have the 3sof pain tolerance in advance, because they are more likely of a 50% loss in a day than big board stocks.  Just my opinion as always.

Title: Re: Alternative Hotty: GSHF
Post by: eliteG on April 11, 2006, 01:48:17 PM

The "in" price was a courtesy because our portfolio is always updated before end of day.  If the stock were to have a dramatic fall intra-day we may update our view but in all of 3SOF history we have always stuck to plan.  My plan on this one is to consider exit strategies after the bell today.

It is never a good experience to start a trade with 20% loss >:(

As usual we had a long talk yesterday after close about picking GSHF. This is an Ethanol play and this sector really has everything going for them. Refiners' are dropping the additive MTBE in favor of ethanol by May 5. The market is therefore experiencing a shortage of Ethanol with resulting price increases.

In addition the Bush administration is pushing for the use of E-85, which is gasoline mixed with 85 percent ethanol, and B-20, or 20 percent biodiesel blended fuel to reduce U.S. reliance on foreign oil imports.

I believe that the ethanol sector is a going to benefit from this fundamental change in the energy policy for years to come.

What makes GSHF stand out from other ethanol plays is two things: They are not directly involved in Ethanol production but rather supplying the equipment for the companies producing Ethanol and they are an investment company holding a number of different companies. Both these factors are reducing the risk compared to investing directly in one of the pure ethanol plays.

We could certainly have chosen a better entry point for GSHF but yesterday night buying at the open was the right decision and today's correction of the whole sector has not broken the strong upwards momentum for ethanol stocks.

This is a penny momentum play so I will wait for eliteG's update after close but I think it is too early to write this one off!

It's a bummer to start this way, but that's how it goes sometimes with pennies. Hope you guys give it some time. Made some great trades on pennies that were David's pick just by giving them a little more room  ::).

Michael,  applaud !  As always, a nice diligent post.

I like the sector, but have never had a positive experience when Cornell Capital Partners is in the picture.  Any thought on this relationship ?

Trying to remember the past BDC plays.  (HYRF, FCCN to name a few)

Hopefully this will work out for the best.

Oh I messed up on this one today.  I tried to buy 50,000 shares by the close.  I put in limit order for $0.181 and only had 500 shared filled then the market closed on me.  I now have this $10 commission on just 500 shares.  This is bad!!!!

By the way, I usually buy near the close of the market for 3SOF positions.  I rarely buy "at the open" this strategy allows me to judge for myself if I want in.  Unfortunately this time I wasn't quick enough.

Don't feel bad. You doing better then most of us. I bought some early around .23 and some at .19. My average is .21. The financing deal with cornell doesn't look so bad. They got 5% rate it is not convertable unless they are no longer a BCS. They have until Feb 2009 to pay back the loan. The companies in their portfolio have generated $30M in annual revenue...

That's a problem with OTC stocks that annoys me, too. You can't buy at market, you can't give a stop order.

Great stuff Michael  ;).. so we'll try to be as loose as we can with GSHF.  There is no easy way to say it.. we got pummeled today by this play.. in fact there is no place you could have bought this stock today, still be holding, and with a profit.  :-X

That makes the team feel like crap(on top of the crap from the mkt today).  Since we bought this stock on the impulse signal from the tall white/heavy volume day yesterday.. we must have this reason still in play for us to hold the stock.  At the same time we all see a lot of potential here as well.  So what we have decided is to put a hold on GSHF and we will  evaluate it on close everyday for a hold or sell.  ;)

We will hold GSHF.

I have to say that I have never found buying at open to be a good move. Maybe there is a reason to do it with a board like this, but I have always decided an entry price in the past, and will always do so again.  To me buyng at open is like selling at market, which I never do either.

This type of stocks work on a different scale...
The same way this 30% correction it's completely normal, a multi-bag movement on the upside would also be not astonishing... different scales... different risk/rewards ratio and strategies to apply.

I see this move as a normal re-test on the breakout zone, a normal throwback, but off course on a whole different scale :)

I usually don't do this, but I was not expecting to see CSHF below 0.20 after we setup this trade, so I took the opportunity to buy a few shares for my personal account today ;)

Good luck!

Nice bounce off the 9 ema. Very bullish. It had just gotten a little ahead of itself the other day. I bet we see a 100M share day sometime in the next couple months, when ethanol plays get really frenzied.

Buying at the open is not best for an individual trader, but it's the best way for a stock-picking service to do it to ensure the integrity of the service. I was in a group once where the head guy would send out intraday alerts when he bought, i.e. "Bought XYZ @ $1.60". You'd pull up the chart and it would be at $1.85. I think he fudged his entry prices -- picked the entry price he wished he'd got in at. I appreciate the way they do it here at 3SoF.

elite,

Looking at your charts, does the volume and price corellation bother you?  Seems to me that last week had record volume that blew away even past highest volume days.  But the price hardly budged.  I would expect pps to appreciate tremendously based on that kind of volume.

EliteG: I've never bought any penny stocks, but this just looks way too hot to go by. What would you consider a decent entry point at this particular juncture? Would you suppose the stock should pause like the last time it made 50% move, before another substantial spike or could it continue due to the growth in oil prices? Thank you!

Yo G!

Granted we rode it down a little first, but having a stock gain 50% in one day was a first for me, thanks!!!!  Crazy to be up so much on such a down day for the market too  ;D

You mentioned in G-TA that the breakout was on the famed g-pattern, can you show how that pattern developed, what it looks like etc?
Title: Re: Alternative Hotty: GSHF

I'll try to answer all the questions on GSHF with this update.  Up 42.92% in 5 trading days for us.. I am ok with that.  ;)  :D  :o  Glad you guys and gals are enjoying it as well.  :)

update GSHF:

Wow there is a lot to cover here.  Let me make a list and elaborate on some points of this tremendous play.

- Ethanol trend is strong
- VRDM and INSQ(both owned by GSHF) are trending upwards strongly
- G-pattern breakout today

The market was down today today but the Ethanol plays moved big.. all day long.  You always want a stock in the hot group.  There is nothing hotter than ethanol.

-----------------------------------
VRDM is 70% owned by GSHF
INSQ is 80% owned by GSHF

VRDM mkt cap = 12.78million * .7 =  8.946million
INSQ mkt cap =  45.02million * .8 = 36.02million
8.946 + 36.02 = 44.966Million

GSHF mkt cap = 35.68million

The current valuation of GSHF is cheap especially considering the fact that GSHF.. owns more companies than these 2!  :o  >:D  This makes GSHF a safer play as well!  ;)
----------------------

The G-pattern is best explained on the chart.  What this data means to me is that GSHF has just begun its dynamic move.  We have a hot group play, an undervalued penny and an amazing technical signal... We consider GSHF very buyable at this level!  We are looking for more than 100% on this play.  :o 8)

If you had seen runs in XSNX.OB and PTSC.OB you will know that it was never too late when they were in penny. The problem starts with change in momo shift and/or bad press or something worse. But with crude above 70$ anything alternate is the best bet. Personally I will add just a little to make my holdings some fancy even number ;)

Holding and Happy.

Has anyone noticed in their annual report , posted on Monday, that they earned $.03 per share in 2005, and also they would give dividends to shareholders?

This info was near or at the very end of a lengthy report.

Is that what's helping propel this stock and what do dividends mean to us as shareholders (as in the likely event we would get something out of this)?

I hope I've shared something of value her, and thanks in advance for input.

dak-
Noticed this as well. Don't believe it's payable to shareholders. I also noticed an inconsistency with this, in that they report 63.5MM shares in the report, though they are currently sitting a little above 100MM,  I believe. Hope it doesn't turn out like INSQ..

INSEQ Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: INSQ) announced that 4,948,173,844 shares of its common stock were outstanding as of April 16, 2006, not 367,243,231 shares as mistakenly reported on the cover page of INSEQ's 2005 Form 10KSB.

Great call, tokyopua!  Right at the 5-EMA!!  That's where I would have put my bid if I was going to buy some, but I've never traded an OTCBB stock before.  I know they are alot riskier and cost more for commission than regular Nasdaq stocks.  Maybe someday I'll try one!

Good luck!

For short term trading it's okay I think, as long as the volume is relatively high so you have liquidity.  Worst part about penny is liquidity but I don't think we are going to have that problem with this one.  Look at WDPT.  That one volume is scarrily low in the last few days.  If we need to bail suddenly on that one, it will get real ugly real fast.

OK, I see that this stock has come back down to the upper bollinger band, and it's near the G-pattern breakout again.  Do you think 26 cents would be a good price to try to buy tomorrow?  What would you say is the likelihood of this going back to the low 20's?  This would be my first OTCBB stock, and I don't want to lose on it!  It went down 17% today on higher volume than yesterday's 50% move upward.  Looks like 26 cents will be right at the 5-EMA and 21 cents will be at the 13-EMA.

Thanks,
Leaira

Good luck with your first OTCBB Learia!

Just gonna give some input on my opinion of an entry. For starters i'll tell you i bought some more at .275 today right near the close. This wasn't the best entry i could have made today but im pleased with where PPS stands at the close which is why i bought

Theoretically with Tall white candle sticks( Called marubozus ) like we witnessed yesterday, in order to maintain its bullish status you want to see support hold up right at the midpoint of the candles opening and closing prices. In GSHF's case it closed just slightly below it which isn't too big of a deal. When i look for support on tall candle's i usually set my stops just below the midpoint. The midpoint for yesterdays candle was roughly .28 and todays close was .275 where i made my entry.

Prior longer term support was the last peak we saw at .27. So i see the area of from .27 - .28 as a bullish status buying zone. Wich is where i would like the stock to stay above for me to feel comfortable and maintain my bullish status on this stock. Since the closing price fell within this bullish range it gave me enough reason to add more  to my position. Though it did fall near .26 towards the .25 G-support you could have made a better entry than i did. Though i wasnt as comfortable filling my position in that range so i waited til the close to see what happened and thankfully i was glad to see it close within "my" bullish status range.

So this may retrace some more tomorrow who really knows. But i feel comfortable with my added position. Good luck and nice fill to anyone who got in on the early morning dip near .26

I think we have all been there done that, dhiraj19.  If it makes you feel any better, this stock is probably still going up and you can still make money, but I recently bought EFSF above .5, its around .33 now  :'(
And unlike GSHF, it has got no ethanol craze/70 dollar oil to get it going again.  Unless bird flu breaks out tomorrow, its going to be a long time before I break even on that trade...

Hi
If it makes anyone feel better, i have been holding PTSC from 1.70 and now it is at .88!
I also lost a lot of money on GZFX.
So now I buy very carefully. I have Ameritrade IZONE and they charge $5.00 for any number of shares trading on any exchange including otcbb and pink sheets.
So I bought GSHF at .181, .195 and sold at .31 and now I am back in with 5000 shares at .28

if it goes down tomorrow I will buy more, if it doubles I will sell.

Good luck to us all!

Leaira, I wish I could tell you that was planned around the 5-EMA or any other technical indicator, but rather I was just watching a 1-minute Level 2 chart and saw that it had likely bottomed.  Sometimes you see that, where it hits a bottom and then starts moving up fairly quickly and its just a "feeling" based on having seen that before.  By the time I decided to buy it, it was up from about .255 to .275, that was probably only a minute.

All told, I guess I would have been more impressed with that move if the stock had not basically closed at the same level  ::)  so far, the one I am impressed with is Metro who got in around .175 if I remember correctly.

As for whether to buy... I am also no expert on how the penny stocks trade.  I can only say that from what I have seen the biggest profits on 3SOF seem to have been made off of the pennies, if you go back into the old trades it looks like there was a 12 bagger in there, etc.  3SOF seems to know how to pick the pennies!  Though granted there will be some losers in there too...

update GSHF:

So we think we have a major move and this must come with major fluctuations.. but lets defend against a reverse.  GSHF remains above the g-pattern breakout so lets put a stop a bit underneath.  If ethanol swings into action we should be able to climb tomorrow.  I like the heavy volume today.. to me it means we had some major players step in.

Ameritrade does not accept "Stop Limit" orders on OTCBB securities. Do you place a "mental" stop or your broker permits stop orders on the OB's?

No broker does, it seems. Apparently, it is a requirement of the exchange.

If I can't watch it during the day, I check in the evening if the price dropped to the stop target during the day, then sell at the open the following day. No "sell at market" order accepted either, I believe. Must be a limit order.

Hey ket - yes a stop is an intraday execution.

I think some brokers do allow stop-limit..not sure but the key is the principle that we will sell if this price is breached during the day.  Thats our plan  ;)

VRDM is 70% owned by GSHF
INSQ is 80% owned by GSHF

Hi folks,

Congrat's to those that trade in & out & in & out &---ad nauseum!

I'm holding until a buck---there, she'll likely pause & retrace some for real & I'll take trading profits & plan to subsequently jump back in for the ride to $1.80, or so.

The ethanol game.  It's likely to turn into a long lasting bubble of "dot-com" proportions.  Already, GM is pushing E85 compatible autos!  E85 is 85% ethanol!  We're going to that much ( eventually ) to break the grip of OPEC on our fuel supplies.  This won't just be ethanol harvested from corn- it will be from many-many "trash related" things.  It is a plan ( huge plan ) behind the scenes in Washington to get reduced vulnerability regarding all the overseas crackpots running the "oil show"!

XTHN.....  unless I'm all wet, this is slated to be a superstar

good trading to all...

My understanding of the gravestone doji (I read a lot about candlesticks because I love Japan and all things Japanese and I even read about candlesticks on Japanese web pages) is that the gravestone candlestick is actually a doji shape, i.e. it pretty much closed where it opened at the low of the session (so the line forms at the the very base with no white body), but here we have enough of a white body that it is not technically a gravestone doji.

And even a gravestone doji here might only suggest a trend reversal, but not necessarily mean a strong or lasting reversal.  They tend not to be that strong of a indicator, and if you get a white candlestick after one, the indication is of course meaningless anyway.  And it seems like the hype around ethanol and the continual inflow of orders from around the world for VRDM technology is not going to let any downtrend last.  So lets hope for that white candle anyway tomorrow!  >:D

My armchair quarterbacking for tomorrow is that we do get enough of a pullback to fill that gap from today, then it off to the races for another 8 to 10%, hahaha.  But only the market will know for sure!

update GSHF:

GSHF had a nice gap and run today(up 8.79%!).. we ended with a bit of profit taking from our resistance zone and thats normal.  ;)  I know many of you at least sold partial.. very nice job!  ;D

What I see in this chart is lots of volume.. creating a huge run.. not many unhappy holders of this stock(only if you bought today @ .405)... so I dont see much selling pressure.. only the normal resistance.  Ethanol is still definately "in".  We want over 100%(a bag) or more bags  >:D.  No change yet in our stop.. I would like a bit more data before I move it higher.

If we close higher than todays close tomorrow.. GSHF will not wait long to really start moving  ;)  Check out the 1st chart(you guys think that peak in september can compete with this volume...it makes that peak look like a hiccup)   8)

To clear up the confusion on the Gravestone Doji. It can be considered both a bullish and bearish candle. It depends on the prior trend. In our case it was a bearish indicator as it appeared after a bullish rally. With the opening and closing prices the same and a tall upper shadow shows that the bears had control by the end of the day. But it always takes confirmation the next day to see what the verdict is between who controls the power. The day ended down and completed confirmation for bears holding the power. Though im not too worried as we didnt retrace much and formed a bullish hammer candle to counteract the prior bearish candle. I think we will see this retest the .40 resistence in the near future.

It can also be a bullish indicator in a downtrend. The candlesticker.com makes there case about shorts being in a losing position after a gravestone doji. If the following day gives rise to a bullish rally then shorts will cover and be a bullish indicator producing a rally. I don't much like the bull case for the gravestone doji and think it is more significant as a top reversal indicator.

Besides the point of the Gravestone doji which actually isnt relevant to the case of GSHF. The candle that appeared yesterday is actually a shooting star. Which is similar to the gravestone doji but contains a real body and an upper shadow. it serves the same sort of implications as the  gravestone doji but most would consider the doji more potent of an indicator.

I'll leave the TA analysis to the master mind Mr G.  8)

Any comments on the take of VRDM financials on VRDM's Stock price action and also on GSHF stock price action?

VRDM negatives should affect both of them...

All of the financials are about Dec 2005 ending... All this is happening currently is about current oil alternatives.  ???

update GSHF:

First I would like to address some replies on this thread.

1: gravestone doji, shooting star, inverted hammer... we must focus on things that affect our trading plan.  Dont get sidetracked!  A day of data(a candlestick) is not equal to the amount of days we have risen on strong volume and the current ethanol trend.  It does not affect our trading plan.

2: GSHF did not post any new financials.  Yahoo just updated their own records.  No new data here.

GSHF - So far pausing after meeting resistance @ ~.40.  We feel more comfortable in moving our stop higher.   A bit under halfway of the tall white(5 trading days ago)  I believe there may be strong support @ .30.. but hopefully this will not need to be tested.  It will be an exciting week.  8)

The pennies portfolio is no more stocky!  We have pennies in both the 3SOF and 3SOV ports.  >:D  :)  Adding both VRDM and GSHF would increase our risk too high.  We rather take the bigger one which owns VRDM and INSQ(and their profits) = GSHF

EliteG,

What do you say about today's action? It went everywhere ( started down then went touched the highest and later struggled to close green just above yesterday's close).

I was looking at 5 min chart and the closing of day showed lot of activity and price dropping. Does it mean profit taking was high? Also same happened with VRDM. Thoughts, comments from your experience and analysis.

I think the market is trying to weigh the impact of the speech by President Bush today and his 4 point plan to reduce our dependence on oil.  I listened to and watched the price action of PEIX and GSHF during the speech.  PEIX was ramping, but GSHF was not moving almost at all.  Then after the speech it was off to the races for GSHF and PEIX fell.

The confict is that on the one hand Bush encourages ethanol use, but today he announced waivers for the the mandatory additions that have been causing shortages.  Just my opinion here, but I think that together with normal profit taking is what caused the price action today.

This is related to the Ethanol theme:

"Pacific Ethanol Shares Up on Gates Stake
Tuesday April 25, 4:14 pm ET
Pacific Ethanol Shares Rise After Microsoft Chairman Buys In; Other Ethanol Stocks Follow

NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of Pacific Ethanol Inc. jumped to a new high Tuesday after word broke that Bill Gates bought a large stake in the Fresno, Calif. alternative fuel company.
Shares of the company have nearly tripled in the past three months, as the rising price of oil and other factors have turned the nation's attention to alternative fuels. Pacific Ethanol shares closed Tuesday, up 90 cents, to $33.30, after earlier hitting a new 52-week high of $35.48. Trading volume of 10 million shares was more than five times average daily volume.

According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Cascade Investment LLC, the Microsoft Corp. chairman and chief executive's private investment vehicle, purchased 5.3 million preferred shares of the company on April 13 for $16 per share. The holdings are convertible to 10.5 million common shares at any time, the filing said.

Pacific Ethanol said Monday Robert P. Thomas, portfolio manager of Cascade, was named to its board of directors.

Ethanol has come under increased focus in recent months as President Bush has led a campaign for alternative fuels, and the refining industry has moved to use it as substitute for methyl tertiary butyl ether, or MTBE, a gasoline additive that is considered toxic and faces bans in several states. The federal Energy Information Administration says most refiners are trying to cut out MTBE before the summer driving season.

The latest upsurge for Pacific Ethanol shares was accompanied by a spike in stock of Andersons Inc., an agribusiness that produces ethanol and is working on clean coal technology.

Nasdaq-listed shares of Andersons also hit a new high Tuesday, spiking at $113.25 during the regular session before settling back down. Shares closed up $4.17, or 4 percent, at $107.27. Volume was nearly 8 times normal daily volume.

Also up were shares of Electro-Sensors Inc., a Minnetonka, Minn. company that makes electronic controls, and targets ethanol and biofuel producers as customers, according to its Web site. Shares added $1.29, or 25 percent, to close at $6.50 on the Nasdaq, after earlier trading at a new 52-week high of $7.45. Volume, normally just 6,000 shares, was up over 800,000 shares for the session."

update GSHF:

GSHF closed at the highest close of this run!  Yes we saw some rejection again higher up at the resistance zone.  That is not alarming but healthy.  Lets get all those weak hands out of the stock..so they can buy back in when GSHF really starts to move.  ;)

If you look at the longer-term chart(weekly) you can see the powerful rise of GSHF.  Ethanol has just come into market vocabulary.. this run may have just begun.

Support around .33, .32, .30.. so time to move that stop up.  Never fall in love with these pennies!

Well everyone is pumping ethanol stocks now.  I just got a teaser e-mail from Navellier.  I don't subscribe to him so I don't know which he is talking about:

"Our top company in this sector is the world's largest supplier of corn seeds.  The company is like the Saudi Arabia of the ethanol industry. In fact, the company's stock price is currently at a terrific buy price. But it won't last long; the stock is up 131% over the past two years.  And hold on to your hat--this growth stock is set to double those numbers."

No link since it was in my e-mail.  Seems like GSHF or stocks involved in the infrastructure of ethanol would be a solid place to be.  I know some people are now saying that the cost of transition, production and switching to ethanol will make it less viable.

Our stop got hit.. so we no longer have a position in GSHF.  The team will try to keep a watchful eye for re-entry.  Next possible supports are 20ema and the g-pattern breakout.

A stop is for protection.. to take some emotion out of the game.  We took home over 20% profit and thats great.  ;D  We could have taken home more but we were willing to try and swing with GSHF.  Market decides what is wrong and right.

You may not be an expert, But i see the cup as you did :)

Im still holding my shares right now as well. I don't think this whole ethanol run is over. Most broke out big and are now consolidating. I think they still have at least one if not more healthy run left in em. I think there will be strong support at .242 which is the G-spot.

Im anticipating(hoping :) ) a cup and handle formation here that will break us above the heavy resistence at .40. Only time will tell.

I almost pulled the triger when it first hit .40. Woulda had a nice 100% profit. But woulda shoulda coulda  ;) Pennies are just hard suckers to play.

Good luck to anyone still holding and thanks 3sof for bringing GSHF to my attention.

reason for the drop today:

VRDM: To Increase Authorized Shares to 500M from 250M
Thursday , April 27, 2006 14:00 ET

According to a proxy filing with the SEC today, holders of shares representing a majority of the voting power of Veridium Corporation (VRDM) have given their written consent to a resolution adopted by the Board of Directors of Veridium to amend the certificate of incorporation of the Company to increase the number of shares of authorized common stock from 250,000,000 shares to 500,000,000 shares.

I wonder if that really halves their ownership, there have to be things in the contract that preclude that from happening.  Also, if its a straight 50% dilution, VRDM should have dropped more than it did, but it was just down 10.16% compared to the 16% GSHF lost.

I dont have the time tonight to dig into it, but found this post on Yahoo MB, wonder if its true?

protection from dilution. Cornell gets 44 mil and 75 mil I would bet GSHF gets the rest.
-----------------------------------

I think if anyone can track down what these dillution numbers really mean to GSHF we would know if there was an over reaction, etc.  Certainly seems strange to me that VRDM had the biggest gains from their positive news vs. GSHF, but GSHF should get harder for negative news in VRDM.

Hi Fous, La-onda,

I'm still in. Honestly b/c my broker does not allow me stops on pennies  >:( . I like the stop system to assure profits. To be honoust it's brought me some great profits on pennies not being stopped out when 3SOF was  :). Still that is not a plan  :-\ and it has also caused some pain on f.i. HYRF  :'(  All together I think it is really hard to plan pennies. The tiniest bit of news makes them move like crazy. Lots of times they need more time and wider safety stops. I most say I still don't feel like I have the answers to how to trade them well  :-[.

Let's see which way GSHF moves today. I know I'll be watching it closely and get out if it moves down!

Somebody, I believe G, said in another thread that not all brokers disallow stops on OTC stocks. Could somebody tell me what brokers do allow them?

This is a great pick by 3SoFire with a nice gain banked.  Thanks for bringing this one to us.  I would not be trading pennies without Elite G's lead and instructions.

Looks like the steady 5 day or so slide from .40 was a real sell signal and I agree with the stop.  My average price was .21, and I still have my small position.  I am hoping this is a solid reversal here.  volume looks good for first hour.

Cut my position here at .3 by about 33%, nice to have had this bounce.

Again, I think that the VRDM dilution news caused this yesterday, but there must have been contractual agreements between GSHF that protects them from arbitrary dilution. Shareholders are not protected, but the companies themselves benefit long term from dilution.

And even VRDM is back up today in the green, so things are looking a bit better.

I sure enjoyed the rebound we viewed today :)
Im still holding all my shares in this one for now.

.25 has shown its presence as a strong support making a solid rebound from it today. Todays move was fairly significant with bull power as we had a bullish engulfing candle pattern close near the HOD and on above average volume and bouncing off of a strong support area.

Todays pattern also reinforces the chance of a cup and handle pattern to form here in the near future.  Next week will be interesting.

I think that because of all the recent big moves in GSHF there will be enough volatility such that GSHF wont always move in lockstep with gas prices or even ethanol on a given day.

However, for now I am trusting the general trend.  All I hear on CNBC this week is Iran and $100 oil and ethanol, so this has to bode well for GSHF longer term.  Of course bad news like the VRDM dillution can certainly bring us lower, but the chances seem lower now that its over, and it seems like VRDM is getting orders at a fairly steady pace recently.

I agree Ket. Not over. But I think it needs more time. Might be able to get a fill at .20 in the next couple weeks. I think the ethanol stocks will do what oil stocks did last year. They roared in early spring, then pulled back late spring and many thought the run was over, then mid-summer they went berserk.

The 3 US automakers are hitting up Washington this week to support ethanol /E85 fuel.  They have invested in flexfuel vehicles that run on ethanol, but it is not widely available at the pump.  Flexfuel vehicles can run on E85 or gasoline.  If Congress announces more support I bet the ethanol stocks will rock again.
