Title: PLNI.PK
Post by: rottenstock on June 09, 2005, 08:38:01 PM
I'm new on board.  I bought PLNI  a few weeks ago and added more when it went down.  It looks like a good company with a lot going on.  June 15 will be featured in a micro cap conference in NYC  with Tobin Smith as one of the moderators .  What do you think?  Worth adding more at this price (have 200,00 shares)?

I have been in and out of this one.  Seems fine long term with the concept.
Was hyped on many boards and shows.  Always leary of the hype.  But trading has been solid recently.  On my Watch list.  It has been mentioned on the board in the past.  You can read more by typing it in Search.

Question...

Is your screen name a reference from Napoleon Dynamite ?
If so, did you see the link of the kid at the Spelling Bee ?
Hilarious....Here it is.

Yea, it's definately been hyped a bit, but I've done a lot of DD on this company and everything looks solid.  10k is coming out soon (so they say), and Semco acquisition is nearly complete.  The audit and acquisition results will be the turning point in this company's history.

And to answer your questions, nope, I have been using this screenname for more then 4 years now, but I get asked if chickens have large talons a lot  ;D

That spelling bee video is absolutely hilarious, I like how the announcer wonders if it's some sort of secret message.

Below is from my past post.
Although HISC would not qualify as " On Fire " right now, it is difficult to find a better situation for an investment.
Keep close on radar as they have stepped up the PR.
MRKL, PLNI, & GZFX will all do very well this year.
Just keep watching until the time is right.
==================================================

Although PLNI is not on Fire yet, it is only a matter of time, IMO.

Place PLNI on the watch list.  Volume was stronger yesterday.
It may drop from here so I am not recommending a strong buy yet.

Keep an eye on PLNI.   ;)  The product has potential and setting the stage for future movement to an exchange upgrade with a major partnership.
I see it building a base and will let you know when I make another buy.

I think the company has " HISC " Potential.  Read...
Been following for months and Bought today.

Plasticon Announces: No Reverse Stock Split; Based on Potential Sales and Earnings, Plasticon Expects Number of Shares Issued and Outstanding Will Be in Line with Projected Growth, Therefore Eliminating the Need for Reverse Split

LEXINGTON, Ky., Jun 21, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Plasticon International Inc. (Pink Sheets - PLNI) today announced that there are no plans for a reverse stock split based on projected sales and earnings.
"A reverse stock split is absolutely off the table," said Jim Turek, President and CEO of Plasticon International, Inc. Mr. Turek added that should it be necessary to reduce the number of issued and outstanding shares, management is committed to both retiring its own personal shares and the company is committed to buying back shares as well.

"Our sales and earnings potential is the key driver for our company, and we expect an adequate number of shares as we move forward," Mr. Turek said. "The market potential for our three main product lines - rebar supports, transportation signage, and plastic lumber - is so enormous that a reverse stock split is not required. Rebar supports is a $25 billion per year industry. Transportation signage is a $20 billion industry in the U.S. alone. And plastic lumber sales, which have been rising at a rate of 40% per year, are increasingly gaining market share. We are strategically positioned to become the dominant force and to profit from our product innovations as recycled plastic continues to gain acceptance as the industry standard material for these applications. Increased government regulation, the skyrocketing price of steel, and Plasticon's cost-effective, superior products all combine to position Plasticon for continued profitability."

Plasticon International recently announced that as of the second quarter of 2005, the company is profitable. "This is really a thrilling time for us because the world is catching up to our vision. The assumption now is that companies should be environmentally-friendly. We've proven that not only is it the right thing to do, it's the profitable thing to do. We look forward to continuing to provide value to our customers, the public and our shareholders."

Mr. Turek emphasized that after years of laying the foundation of the company, through research and development, product innovations, patent approvals, and applying for and receiving DOT acceptance in all 50 states, Plasticon is now reaping the fruits of its labor. "I believe that the most important trait in business is persistence. With the help of our dedicated, distinguished management team, we built a great base and now we are ready to move into the next phase, which is our aggressive sales and marketing rollout. We are just beginning to see the impact of our exclusive contract with the largest building materials distribution company in the U.S. That contract now makes us the largest supplier of rebar supports in the country. We are also ramping up our global sales and marketing efforts and we certainly expect exponential growth with our major product lines in the near future."

CEO great at marketing.  Orders and relationships can push this thing much higher.

I'm now watching it very closely and considering investing.  Seems strange that today's volume is coming in huge spurts with dead periods in between.  I see three huge spikes, perhaps very large orders?

I see a good six spikes ~400k+ shares (~$6000 each). It's not so odd for a PK. I'm watching, the chart looks alright, but nothing fantastic yet.

Let me clarify.  I held HISC and began speaking about it when 1-2 cents.  Then 1000% plus.
Same stage here.  Keep a watch.  Not on Fire, but potential is the same, IMO.
Patience is key here.

News:

Plasticon Contracts For 10-Year Supply of Recycled Plastic Raw Materials, Enabling Major Increase in Rate of Projected Growth

By PrimeZone
Last Update: 7/21/2005 10:00:16 AM
Data provided by

LEXINGTON, Ky., Jul 21, 2005 (PRIMEZONE via COMTEX) -- Plasticon International Inc. (Pink Sheets:PLNI) today announced that the company has contracted with five new sources of recycled plastic resins. The new resin supply would provide enough recycled plastic resins to fulfill Plasticon's projected orders for the next 10 years.

"The sheer abundance of recycled plastic is one of the most attractive qualities of our sector," said Jim Turek, President and CEO of Plasticon International. "With five new sources of resins, which allow us to fulfill our orders over the next decade, we can now focus more on our sales and marketing efforts. We can also assure our distributor, which is the largest building materials distribution company in the United States, that we have enough raw materials to fulfill all of their orders."

Mr. Turek noted that the increase in recycled plastic resins was mainly due to recycled plastic from landfills. "Our suppliers are now looking at the plastic in landfills as a major source of resin. The nice thing about working in our sector is that there are POSITIVE side effects to our business, rather than the traditional negative side effects with many industrial businesses. We not only provide value to our customers and our shareholders. We also indirectly perform a public service by helping to recycle plastic materials that are found in landfills across the United States. Being environmentally-friendly is very important to us - we have been a green company since our founding. I think that people are finally beginning to understand that being environmentally-friendly is not only the right thing to do; it also makes good business sense because unlike many natural resources, the materials are incredibly abundant."

fill_the_gap, your track record is VERY impressive. HISC was a great find, and even without doing any dd I've confidence in this pick. It will take a little more on the technical side for me to enter in (esp. b/c its a pink), but I've got it on my watch.

Thank you.

Will move quickly in the future, IMO.
I have to hold it in order to not miss the move.

Like the CEO, company and the strategic opportunities.

But trading will be up and down so be willing to wait or hold on.
Do not worry intraday.

Just my opinion.

Skyrocketing Price of Steel Helps Position Plasticon for Major Growth with Recycled Plastic Rebar Supports Product Line
Wednesday July 27, 11:01 am ET
Construction Companies Look for Higher Quality, More Cost-Competitive Alternatives with Plastic Rebar Supports Instead of Steel Rebar Supports

LEXINGTON, Ky., July 27, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Plasticon International Inc. (Other OTC:PLNI.PK - News) announced today that the soaring price of steel will have a major impact on Plasticon International.
The rising trend in the price of steel over the last year and a half has had a significant impact on the construction sector and has been a hot topic in the industry. According to an article in the Miami Herald by Gregg Fields, ``Steel is increasingly becoming a precious metal in the American economy. Thanks to a ravenous appetite for steel in fast-developing China, a rebounding U.S. economy, and a weak dollar, steel prices are rocketing upward and supplies are short.''

An article in Inc. magazine noted that in 2004 the construction boom in developing Asian countries helped to drive up steel prices 46 percent. And The Florida Times-Union, in an article by Timothy Gibbons, reported that ``last year, according to American Metal Markets, an industry trade publication, China imported more than $1 billion worth of American scrap, a world record. The country used more than 36 percent of rolled steel and half of the cement in the world, according to the People's Daily.''

``We certainly believe that the rising price of steel is one of several major industry trends that is helping Plasticon achieve success with our plastic rebar support product line,'' Mr. Turek said. ``Our domestic distributor, the largest building materials distribution company in the United States, has noted that demand has been increasing steadily. We believe that the dramatic rise in the price of steel over the last year and a half has made construction companies look harder at other options, rather than relying solely on steel products. And when they see what Plasticon has to offer, they realize that our innovative products are not only more cost-effective, our cutting-edge engineering also gives the end user a much better product, which is stronger, much easier to install, more versatile, and offers the most advanced design and engineering product line in rebar supports ever to be offered in the marketplace. Our products completely prevent spalling (corrosion damage) and prolongs the life of the structure. Together, these factors make our product offering a compelling proposition. So yes, I would say that the rising price of steel has been a boon to Plasticon International, because it really forces construction companies to do a more detailed assessment of the alternatives and then the demand has naturally increased for our products.''

Mr. Turek cited Plasticon's relationship with R&S Manufacturing as a recent example of the direct impact that the soaring price of steel is having on Plasticon International and the industry. ``R&S Manufacturing is one of the oldest and most respected names in steel post-tensioning cable, and they recently contracted with Plasticon to supply our plastic rebar supports to all of their post-tension cable customers,'' Mr. Turek said. ``R&S recently increased their order by 50 percent, and in fact, they are exclusively supplying plastic rebar supports to their customers, rather than steel rebar supports. The soaring price of steel certainly has something to do with this, in addition to the quality of the engineering with our plastic rebar support product line. This will have a major impact in our industry in terms of the acceptance of recycled plastic rebar supports as the industry standard.''

The rising price of steel has wreaked havoc with budgets in the construction sector. ``The price of steel has led to a lot of uncertainty among construction contractors and has made it difficult for them to provide reliable pricing,'' Mr. Turek said. ``We are fortunate because our raw materials are so abundant, therefore we can reliably provide our products at a much more cost-effective price point than steel. Again, we see the soaring price of steel as one of the major industry trends that is driving business to Plasticon International as we move forward.''

Based on world demand and the dramatic increase in construction in emerging markets, the price of steel is unlikely to retrace, but rather all indications are that it will continue to rise. This trend is very likely to continue and has very positive repercussions for Plasticon International's core business -- their recycled plastic resin rebar support product line.

Plasticon to Acquire Pro Mold, Inc., one of the Premiere Injection Molding Facilities in the Midwest
Wednesday August 3, 8:30 am ET
Privately Financed Acquisition Gives Plasticon the Production Capacity for an Additional $20 Million in Manufacturing and Sales Annually

LEXINGTON, Ken., Aug. 3, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Plasticon International Inc. (Other OTC:PLNI.PK - News) announced today that this week the company will acquire Pro Mold, Inc., one of the premiere injection molding facilities in the Midwest. The privately financed acquisition (with no dilution for PLNI shareholders), will dramatically increase Plasticon's production capacity to $20 million in manufacturing and sales annually for this facility alone. As part of the terms of the agreement, senior management at Pro Mold, Inc. will be retained.

``The timing couldn't be better for this acquisition because our sales are ramping up at a vigorous pace and one of our top priorities is to expand our production capacity to meet rising demand for our products,'' said Mr. Turek, President and CEO of Plasticon International. ``With that in mind, immediately after the acquisition we will be adding molding machines that will allow Plasticon to double the current capacity of the facility.''

Pro Mold, Inc. a state-of-art custom plastic injection molder of thermoplastic materials in St. Louis, Missouri, has been in business since 1987. ``We are thrilled about this acquisition because not only does it allow us to considerably increase our production capacity, it also allows us to ensure that we continue to deliver the highest quality products to our customers,'' Mr. Turek said. ``The facility has totally integrated closed-loop systems with programmable logic control in addition to the most advanced drying, heating and cooling equipment to ensure material integrity and shot-to-shot consistency. The unsurpassed quality control at Pro Mold is one of the reasons they have a reputation as one of the preeminent injection molding facilities in the Midwest.''

Plasticon's Acquisition of Pro Mold Inc. to Increase Production Capacity to an Estimated $20 Million
Wednesday August 10, 8:30 am ET

LEXINGTON, Ky., Aug. 10, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Plasticon International Inc. (Other OTC:PLNI.PK - News) announced today that the company has completed primary due diligence on the acquisition of Pro Mold, Inc., one of the premier injection molding facilities in the Midwest.

The privately financed acquisition (with no dilution for PLNI shareholders) will dramatically increase Plasticon's production capacity to $20 million in manufacturing and sales annually for this facility alone. Said Jim Turek, President and CEO of Plasticon International, Inc., ``As we continue to increase our sales and as demand continues to rise, this acquisition will be critically important in terms of fulfilling our obligations to the growing needs of our clients. We look forward to welcoming Pro Mold, Inc. to our team and working with the seasoned senior management at Pro Mold, who will be retained as part of this deal.

``Our legal counsel has just completed the initial due diligence on Pro Mold and has given us the green light with the acquisition, pending completion of Pro Mold's audit which should be finished in less than 30 days,'' continued Mr. Turek. ``We are happy that this process has moved forward expeditiously, and we have set a tentative closing date for the first week in September.''

According to Mr. Turek, the acquisition was necessary to meet the growing demand for recycled plastic products in the construction industry. ``This acquisition is essential to the growth of Plasticon International,'' he said. ``We are experiencing the strongest growth in the history of the company. We attribute this to several factors including the rising price of steel, which has created a major shift in the construction industry away from steel and towards recycled plastic, and the fact that our products are stronger, more durable, more versatile and more cost-effective than metal rebar support products.''

Pro Mold, Inc., a state-of-art custom plastic injection molder of thermoplastic materials in St. Louis, Missouri, has been in business since 1987. ``We are thrilled about this acquisition because not only does it allow us to considerably increase our production capacity, it also allows us to ensure that we continue to deliver the highest quality products to our customers,'' Mr. Turek said.

Bush Signs $286.4-Billion Highway Bill
From Associated Press
MONTGOMERY, Ill. -- President Bush opened the gates today for spending a whopping $286.4 billion on roads and bridges, rail and bus facilities, bike paths and recreational trails, saying the projects from coast to coast would spur the economy and save lives.

Critics said the 1,000-page transportation bill was weighed down with pet projects to benefit nearly every member of Congress. The bill's price tag over six years was $30 billion more than Bush had recommended, but he said he was proud to sign it.

"Highways just don't happen," Bush said. "People have got to show up and do the work to refit a highway or build a bridge, and they need new equipment to do so. So the bill I'm signing is going to help give hundreds of thousands of Americans good-paying jobs."

To make his point, Bush signed the measure at a suburban Chicago Caterpillar Inc. plant in the home district of House Speaker Dennis Hastert. The Republican leader oversaw nearly two years of negotiations on Capitol Hill to get a slimmed-down version that Bush would accept.

Bush spoke to workers outside the plant, surrounded by sparkling new construction machinery. Two cranes held a sign that said "Improving Highway Safety for America" over the portable stage set up with a wooden desk for the signing.

The bill signing was the second ceremony this week that has taken Bush from his Texas ranch, where he is spending about five weeks on a summer break from the White House. On Monday, Bush went to New Mexico to put a new energy policy into law.

Two years in the making, the highway bill contains more than 6,371 special projects valued at more than $24 billion, according to Taxpayers for Common Sense. The distribution of the money for these projects "is based far more on political clout than on transportation need," said Keith Ashdown, vice president of policy for the group.

Alaska, the third-least populated state, for instance, got the fourth most money for special projects -- $941 million -- thanks largely to the work of its lone representative, House Transportation Committee Chairman Don Young. That included $231 million for a bridge near Anchorage to be named "Don Young's Way" in honor of the Republican.

Bush mentioned a pet project in Hastert's district -- the $207 million Prairie Parkway connector to join two major highways in the growing region outside Chicago. Hastert has been pushing the project for years although state officials are not convinced it's the best way to ease traffic, and some critics say it will promote urban sprawl, hurt the environment and swallow up fertile farmland.

Investor,

You are correct, nice job.
Matt did not mention them on a call to him Friday ?
I asked him who they represent.  He said ADDI and HISC are the main for now.
They had RVMN in the past.

Expect alot more PR then.  Sometimes too much.
I got an HISC packet this weekend with the PR releases.
It mainly was to generate excitement for the Tuesday Conference Call for HISC.

I will be watching PLNI.

Plasticon International Inc. to Retire 200 Million Shares
Wednesday August 24, 8:30 am ET

LEXINGTON, Ky., Aug. 24, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Plasticon International Inc. (Other OTC:PLNI.PK - News) is pleased to announce that their Board has approved the retirement of 200 million shares, the first step in a process designed to decrease the total outstanding shares and increase shareholder value.

``We believe that the retirement of shares will add tremendous value for our shareholders,'' said Jim Turek, President and CEO of Plasticon International. ``This is the first step in a share restructuring process. The restructuring will be reflected in a share price that is more truly representative of the actual value of Plasticon's shares. We firmly believe that this is in the best interests of both our shareholders and the company.''

Mr. Turek added that Plasticon International is committed to a program designed to enhance shareholder value through a comprehensive strategy, starting with this initial retirement. As a part of this restructuring strategy, the Company plans to undertake a buy back program for still additional outstanding shares.

The retirement of 200 million shares is in addition to positive earnings. Plasticon recently announced that it is profitable as of the second quarter in 2005. ``We believe that the retirement of shares will be significant as the first step in a process that should result in a better reflection of the value of Plasticon's shares,'' Mr. Turek concluded.

The Company will be featured on Investor's Business Daily web site for 30 days starting Monday, August 22, 2005: http://www.investors.com/corporatenews/nw111.asp.

Plasticon Receives Patent Confirmation for PAC Chair III -- Plasticon's Patents Now Valued at $20 Million
LEXINGTON, Ky., Sept. 12, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Plasticon International Inc. (Pink Sheets:PLNI), the technology leader of the recycled plastics sector, announced today it has recently received confirmation of the company's patent for the PAC Chair III product, the latest innovation from the company.

The PAC Chair III, in one product, replaces all four conventional metal rebar support products -- wire, galvanized, epoxy coated, and stainless steel. "Our industry first PAC Chair III includes the mesh market and the on-grade market with a single product that is both stackable and self-contained with a sand plate, allowing for 3 heights (2 rebar and one mesh)," said Jim Turek, president and CEO of Plasticon International. "This makes the PAC Chair III the most versatile individual rebar support on the market today."

Sales of the PAC Chair III will be made through Plasticon's exclusive domestic distributor, the largest building materials distribution company in the U.S. with 63 strategically located warehouses nationwide.

"Because the PAC Chair III products are stackable, they are much more convenient for workers in the field," Mr. Turek said. He continued to state that, "Metal rebar supports are not stackable, making it difficult to carry more than 32 at a time in a large box. However, the PAC Chair III is stackable, allowing a worker to carry up to 225 individual supports in that same size box. This product gives the construction industry a tremendous opportunity to increase efficiency and productivity. The PAC Chair III also reduces shipping costs. We are pleased that the demand is so high for our newest product offering, and we believe that the clear advantages this product offers will continue to drive sales."

The PAC Chair III is the most recent patent that the company has received. According to an independent appraiser and the federal courts, Plasticon's recycled plastic product patents are valued at $20 million. Additionally, since the inception of the company, Plasticon has built an inventory of injection molds that the company owns outright, which are presently valued at over $10 million.

Title: The Motley Fool on Plasticon International.
Post by: plocp on January 04, 2006, 04:32:00 PM
A month or so ago, I wrote an article on penny stocks, advising readers, as I've often done, to consider steering clear. I received a thoughtful response from a reader and thought I'd share it with you. Jeffrey T. said:

"I found your Motley Fool article on penny stocks nearly right on the money ... however, not ALL penny stocks are scams. Take Plasticon International (OTCBB: PLNI), for example. They are a fledgling company utilizing recycled plastic to manufacture concrete building products such as rebar supports and, coming soon, plastic rebar. With the future rebuilding efforts after Hurricanes Rita and Katrina, alternatives to steel products will be sought. Add to this, the company has recently acquired a company specializing in concrete sealing. This product along with the rebar supports can easily add YEARS to the life of bridges and buildings, by reducing the amount of decay from environmental impacts and corrosion. I would like to see you do a follow up story to the one you recently wrote, and highlight that there do exist some DIAMONDS in the pile of shiny rocks as you so appropriately quoted!"

Jeff, your wish is my command. There surely are some diamonds in the pile of penny stocks -- I'll concede that point immediately. The problem is, they're not so easy to find, and I'm not even sure that you've found one in Plasticon.

Plasticon's green flags
Your email did make Plasticon sound quite enticing, so I tried to look up information on it. I struck out at my usual sources of quick data, such as our own Quotes and Data area and even Yahoo!'s offerings. The place where I found the most information was Plasticon's website. There, I learned that:

The firm is 17 years old.

Its "line of patented, plastic concrete accessories has been approved or accepted in all 50 states and several foreign countries including Poland, Israel, Canada, Mexico, and Egypt. In addition, its transportation signage has received DOT approval or acceptance in all 50 states."

It has recently dramatically increased production capacity to $20 million in annual sales -- and up to $30 million, soon.

The market for rebar supports was $27 billion back in 1993, suggesting that there's plenty of money to be made if Plasticon's plastic rebar is accepted and purchased.

Plastic lumber sales in the United States are growing at 40% per year. I've seen plenty of plastic lumber and am impressed with it. Tom Gardner even recommended plastic lumber maker Trex (NYSE: TWP) in our Stock Advisor newsletter. (Though its stock has been having a bad year.)

A link to a profile of the company in a newspaper reported that the firm's products are used in all 50 states, and in more than 200 bridges across the nation, as well as elsewhere. Also, the firm has received patents valued at over $20 million and has an inventory of injection molds valued at over $10 million. (Inventory, like patents, isn't necessarily a good thing, unless it's put to good use.)

The firm is planning to buy back shares -- some 200 million to begin with -- which can boost the share price.
Plasticon's red flags
The only trouble is, despite all this information, I didn't see some of the info I was seeking. Specifically, I couldn't find:

Copies of quarterly and annual financial reports filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Reports on just how much money the company has taken in in revenues over the past years and quarters, and how much it has kept as profits. (One press release listed on the company website had a headline that said "Plasticon Announces Company is Profitable as of Second Quarter 2005," but the link to the article was no longer working.)

Reports on the company's financial health. For example, how much debt does it have, and how much cash? Sometimes terrific companies crash because they can't service their debt or just don't have enough money to keep the machinery running long enough to make money.
This is pretty standard stuff for most publicly traded companies. For example, a quick trip to the website of Buffalo Wild Wings (Nasdaq: BWLD), a $225 million company recommended in our Hidden Gems newsletter a few months ago, offers links to annual reports and SEC filings, among other things. (Grab a painless free trial of Hidden Gems and see what other small, dynamic firms we've recommended.) It's the same with $650 million Rule Breakers recommendation Myriad Genetics (Nasdaq: MYGN), which is up some 14% since being featured a few months ago. (Try Rule Breakers for free and see the whole list of recommended stocks.)

There's other information I'd want before I'd consider investing in this firm, too. For example, who are its competitors and how are they doing?

Above all, I'm left wondering why the company, if it's doing so well, isn't offering any data on its financial health and performance for investors and would-be investors. One might argue that such details might be hidden so as not to inform competitors, but still ....

I tried one last resort. I called the Investor Relations contact person listed on the website. I thought I'd gotten the wrong number at first, though, because the call was answered by a Florida-based consulting company, which apparently handles investor relations issues for the Kentucky-based Plasticon. Regardless, I asked the fellow to send me the company's latest financial statements -- and was told he couldn't. He said they would be available in the near future, and that he'd send them to me. This was a week or two ago, and all I received was a press release announcing that "Plasticon Transfers Wholly Owned Inventory of Injection Molds to New Production Facility" and "Injection Molds Have Been Independently Valued at $10 Million." I even asked for past reports, while I wait for the latest ones. That went nowhere, too -- they simply weren't available.

In a nutshell
I've seen, read and heard enough about Plasticon now to make me not want to invest in it. This could end up being one of many investments and non-investments I regret later, but that's OK.

The company's market cap, or total market value, appears to be in the neighborhood of $15 million. That's pretty darn tiny. A simple, successful mom-and-pop store down the street might carry such a value. The stock price is a mere penny per share. If the firm is really doing so well, why are the stock price and market value so low?

I remain committed to my belief that most stocks valued at less than $5 per share carry such low prices for good reasons. These "penny stocks" tend to be volatile and are easy to manipulate and lose money on. Basically, I'd rather invest in firms with established and impressive track records and more transparent finances. If Plasticon one day offers more data on itself, I'll be happy to take a closer look, since the company and the industry are quite intriguing.

In the meantime, there are lots (and lots) of more established and exciting companies. Even Tootsie Roll (NYSE: TR) is compelling -- as W. D. Crotty explained recently. He pointed out that had you invested $1,000 in Tootsie Roll back in 1957, you'd have more than a million dollars now, as its average compound growth rate over the period topped 16%. Then there's Avon (NYSE: AVP), which as M. D. Mitchell explained, is growing slowly but surely and may grow much more, thanks to a presence in China. And Stock Advisor selection 7-Eleven (NYSE: SE), which recently reported sales up 17% and profits up a whopping 54%. See? Lots of promising candidates for investments -- and they all have financial statements ready for your examination.

So am I here to slam Plasticon? Not at all. I just don't know enough about it, even though I tried to learn -- which is the problem. If you know more than I do about Plasticon, as you well might, I invite you to share more information on our discussion board.

PLNI On OTC Naked Short Threshold List
Start End Days on List
January 7, 2005 January 13, 2005 5
February 14, 2005 February 18, 2005 5

Plasticon International, Inc. has been on the OTC Naked Short Threshold list two times. Regulation SHO took effect January 3, 2005, and provides a new regulatory framework governing short selling of securities. It was designed with the objective of simplifying and modernizing short sale regulation and providing controls where they are most needed. At the conclusion of each settlement day, data is provided on securities in which: 1) there are at least 10,000 shares in aggregate failed deliveries for the security for five consecutive settlement days, and 2) these failures constitute at least 0.5% of the issuer's total shares outstanding. SEC Regulation SHO, under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, mandates that, if a clearing agent has had a fail-to-deliver position for 13 consecutive settlement days, that clearing agent, and the broker/dealer it clears for, must purchase securities to close out its fail to deliver position.

About BUYINS.NET

WWW.BUYINS.NET is a service designed to help bonafide shareholders of publicly traded US companies fight naked short selling. Naked short selling is the illegal act of short selling a stock when no affirmative determination has been made to locate shares of the stock to hypothecate in connection with the short sale. BUYINS.NET has built a proprietary database that uses Threshold list feeds from NASDAQ, AMEX and NYSE to generate detailed and useful information to combat the naked short selling problem. For the first time, actual trade-by-trade data is available to the public that shows the attempted size, actual size, price and average value of short sales in stocks that have been shorted and naked shorted. This information is valuable in determining the precise point at which short sellers go out-of-the-money and start losing on their short and naked short trades.

BUYINS.NET has built a massive database that collects, analyzes and publishes a proprietary SqueezeTrigger for each stock that has been shorted. The SqueezeTrigger database of nearly 750,000,000 short sale transactions goes back to January 1, 2005 and calculates the exact price at which the Total Short Interest is short in each stock. This data was never before available prior to January 1, 2005 because the Self Regulatory Organizations (primary exchanges) guarded it aggressively. After the SEC passed Regulation SHO, exchanges were forced to allow data processors like BUYINS.NET to access the data.

The SqueezeTrigger database collects individual short trade data on over 7,000 NYSE, AMEX and NASDAQ stocks and general short trade data on nearly 8,000 OTCBB and PINKSHEET stocks. Each month the database grows by approximately 50,000,000 short sale transactions and provides investors with the knowledge necessary to time when to buy and sell stocks with outstanding short positions. By tracking the size and price of each month's short transactions, BUYINS.NET provides institutions, traders, analysts, journalists and individual investors the exact price point where short sellers start losing money and a short squeeze can begin.

"It has been our goal to identify and publish the pattern of brokers shorting our stock with the failure to deliver shares. Naked short selling is a financial assault and robs millions of dollars from investors as well as the ability for small cap companies to capitalize their operations. We are distressed by naked short selling and this practice wrongly influences the market. Our primary focus right now is to restore shareholder value and confidence in Plasticon International, Inc," stated Plasticon President and CEO Jim Turek.

Plasticon International, Inc. Subsidiary Awarded Nevada Beltway Construction Contract Valued at Over $240,000
Plasticon International, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: PLNI) is pleased to announce that the Nevada Department of Transportation has awarded Semco Distribution, Inc., a subsidiary of the Company, a $241,850 contract for the surfacing of the concrete embankment at the I-515 Beltway Interchange in Nevada. The project involves the application of Semco's proprietary concrete sealants and anti-graffiti coating.

Semco's coating system was chosen to allow the Nevada Department of Transportation an opportunity to use a more attractive color combination, to eliminate the absorption of water into the surface of the structure and to mitigate the cleanup cost of graffiti with their protective coating. The new interchange joins Interstates 215 and 515 in Henderson, Nevada with numerous roads, bridges ands ramps. "We believe that as environmental regulations increase, the worldwide demand for Semco's surfacing systems may grow. We now offer a total waterproofing solution for major construction projects. Our unique re-bar support products with Semco's concrete coating is a combination that will provide countless opportunities for us to sell both Plasticon and Semco products to the same customers on the same projects," stated Plasticon President and CEO Jim Turek.

Plasticon International, Inc.'s Wholly Owned Subsidiary SEMCO Manufacturing Completes Work on $82 Million I-515 Beltway Interchange Project
Plasticon International, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: PLNI) is pleased to announce that their wholly owned subsidiary, SEMCO Manufacturing, Inc., has completed surfacing the concrete embankment on the I-515 Beltway Interchange for the Nevada Department of Transportation. The $241,000 contract called for the application of SEMCO's proprietary concrete sealants and anti-graffiti coating across a 76,400 square foot span of the interchange. SEMCO's protective coating system was chosen to prevent the absorption of water into the surface of the bridges, to mitigate the cleanup cost of graffiti, and also for its attractive color schemes. The total cost of the Interchange project was $82,247,827, paid for by a combination of federal, state and local funds.

"We're excited to have completed the I-515 Beltway Interchange for the Nevada Department of Transportation. SEMCO's revolutionary products are saving tax payer dollars and helping to beautify the interstate," stated Jim Turek, President and CEO of Plasticon International, Inc.

Based in Las Vegas, SEMCO Manufacturing markets and sells custom surfacing products to high profile commercial, public and private clientele. Their products are noted for aesthetic appeal and durability for use in heavily used walkways, extreme outdoor conditions and in chlorinated pools. Plasticon completed the acquisition of SEMCO Manufacturing, Inc. in January 2006.

Any thoughts on the stock exchange. $1  for conversion prices?

Looks like PLNI will dip into Chapter 11. Taking all stock into preferred, riping out the shorts clearing debts and leaving a 6 million float.
