Looks like I'll be the first. Lets go with Interstate hotels and restaurants (IHR) looks overextended because it just broke a new 52 week high but this move had serious volume behind it. IHR is packing a powerful punch right now and every week it seems like they are scooping up more hotels. This may even be a good pick for FIRE. I think IHR may give me another 50% here, so much momentum. Lets roll.
I think I can be allowed to block my entry for the contest. I am in hotel which has a very crappy wireless connection.
CGR Claude Resources Inc. (CGR)
I'll update the profile, stock chart, reason for pick when I reach home tonite.
Company profile:
Claude Resources, Inc. operates as a gold mining, and oil and gas company in Canada. The company engages in the acquisition, exploration, and development of precious metal properties; and production and marketing of minerals primarily in northern Saskatchewan, northern Manitoba, and northwestern Ontario. It owns Seabee gold mine located in northern Saskatchewan and Madsen gold mine in northwestern Ontario. The company acquires and develops oil and natural gas properties principally in Alberta, with property interests in southeastern Saskatchewan. As of December 31, 2005, the company had proved and probable reserves of 1,099,000 barrels of crude oil and natural gas liquids, and 8,852 MMcf of natural gas. Claude Resources was incorporated in 1980 and is headquartered in Saskatoon, Canada.
The company is in everything from OIL to Gold which makes it hot. Also, I think Institutional accumulation is happening during recent downturn in gold and stability of oil.
REASON BEHIND PICK:
INDUSTRY:
OIL and GOLD make it my pick for this contest. Both the sectors have got bullish in some time. GOLD is starting the climb again after FED rate increase and subsequent countries interest rates hike. Oil has started the climb again as the demand has started climbing.
GOLD today @ $624 and OIL today @ $72.
They have online more canadian gold fields coming online.
Technical:
As the peer group for gold stocks such as AUY, GG, AZK, etc have risen in last week, CGR has lagged the climb. So the climb will resume at accelerated pace and making it break new highs after $1.72.
- Dhiraj
My pick: IHR
Reason: ever since 3 sof was shaken out of this one its been on a steady climb. The chart looks really nice and its going higher imo. They.ve been very busy lately with aqcuisitions. They have plenty of cash, low debt, low float, all that adds up and sounds pretty good to me.
Chart:
reserving VPHM again ;D
The reason for the pick:
1) From last CC:
- YTD '06 Prescriptions up 30% vs YTD '05.
- May '06 Prescriptions up 10% over April '06
- Expect '06 sales much higher than '05
- Scientific data report out before June 30, 06
- Gross Margin in 2005 = 86-87%. Expect GM for the 1st half to be a bit lower due to $4.5M payment to Lilly for additional inventory
- Cost of Good for Vancocin manufactured in the new facility in NY for 2nd half of 06 and forward will be half of the current COG
- Marib Phase III stem cell to start very soon (3rd quarter) & Phase III solid transplant before the end of 2006. Consider huge markets not only transplants
- Hepatitis drug: 50-50% in the US with Wyeth, and 15% for VPHM outside the US. Wyeth paying most of the expenses. Expect more details on results of Phase I on the 3rd quarter and start of Phase II before the end of 3rd quarter
- Main barriers for generics will be two: 1. Manufacturing process took 20 months for Lilly to transfer process from IL to NY (Complex). 2. FDA approval of these manufacturing processes in order to meet the safety and results requirement for the agency

4)
Monthly sales from wholesalers to pharmacies for the month of May totaled $15,676,630, another new record for average weekly sales. April sales totaled $15,482,228. We have 2 very strong monthly sales numbers. It appears that the 2nd quarter is going to establish a new record Vancocin sales for VPHM.

ViroPharma Submits Scientific Arguments in Supplement to Vancocin Petition for Stay of Action
Friday , June 30, 2006 18:21 ET
EXTON, Pa., June 30, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- ViroPharma Incorporated (Nasdaq: VPHM) today submitted a supplement to its Petition for Stay of Action with the FDA regarding the bioequivalence requirements for abbreviated new drug applications (ANDAs) that seek to copy Vancocin capsules. The document sets forth scientific arguments supporting ViroPharma's strong belief that the decision of the FDA's Office of Generic Drugs (OGD) to modify the bioequivalence standards for generic copies of Vancocin capsules is scientifically flawed. The submission made by ViroPharma will be available in its entirety later today on ViroPharma's corporate website, at http://www.viropharma.com/OGDpetition. The document will also be furnished with the SEC as an exhibit to a Current Report on Form 8-K, and will be available on the EDGAR section of the SEC website as well as the SEC filings page of the 'investing' section of the ViroPharma website. The company also expects that the document will become available on the docket management section of the FDA website within approximately two weeks. The Company believes that its latest submission demonstrates that the OGD's proposal for demonstrating bioequivalence of a generic version of Vancocin capsules using only in vitro dissolution testing instead of human clinical trials is not justifiable, and presents an unacceptably high risk of approving a bioinequivalent product. Because Vancocin treats two potentially life-threatening diseases, Clostridium difficile-associated disease (CDAD) and enterocolitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus, anything less than an in vivo demonstration of bioequivalence in those with CDAD may expose patients to unnecessary risk and raise significant clinical and public health concerns.

short & chart update:
1) Stock Pick
ILE Name of firm: Isolagen Inc.
Isolagen, Inc. engages in the development and commercialization of autologous cellular therapies for soft tissue regeneration in the United States and the United Kingdom. It develops its products for the cosmetic dermatology, cosmetic surgery, periodontal disease, reconstructive dentistry, and other health-related markets. Isolagen also completed a phase I clinical trial for its second product candidate for the treatment of periodontal disease. The company was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in Exton, Pennsylvania.
2) Institutional Ownership up the last month
Big Volume increase last month
1) CBJ
2) First off, technically, it's looking good. Hit the 2.39 bottom, broke the 20 day EMA, and the positive MACD crossover. It may also have broken a small ascending triangle. Next major resistance is around 3.28. It is primarily a gold miner, which is good with gold up. 5 million shares were purchased by institutions last quarter. Positive cash flow and earnings. I'll take it ;)
My Pick is ABLE Energy Inc,
Profile: Able Energy, Inc., through its subsidiaries, engages in the distribution and marketing of home heating oil, propane gas and equipment, and diesel fuels. The company offers heating, ventilation, air conditioning, installation, and repair services
Technical:
it's very very Strong. Hit the $7.70, a break out form two huge Resistances point at $6.95 and $7.51. Broke the 15day MA, and the positive MACD crossover. Next major resistance is around $9.0. With some good news and institutional buying AbLE could go back to $18.
1) Aastrom Biosciences --- ASTM
2) With the senate soon to debate the long awaited stem cell bill, this could result in the same run that we had early last year. Not to mention the fundamentals of the company.
What to look for...Aastrom's targeted milestones:
• Initiate osteonecrosis clinical trial
• Complete Proof of Concept spine fusion clinical trial
• Complete and report additional interim patient data from multi-center U.S. fracture clinical trial
• Complete diabetic limb ischemia treatments
• Complete plan for registration trial for bone regeneration
1) Wolverine Tube Inc. (WLV)
2) 2005 was not a good year for Wolverine but their first quarter revenue and profits were in turnaround. They've got a new chairman and secured more funds, so things are happening a bit. Looking for a breakout above $4, hopefully after monday. Wolerine has had a nice little run of late so maybe it will get noticed and volume will pick up.
3)
ERS is gonna kick butt this month!
Sorry I am too dumb to figure out how to post a chart and I do the quantative analysis in my head.
The company sells aluminum and has taken a dive from the mid 60's to 15 in June when everything else dove for no reason. Demand for the metal is increasing from China and India and the sales and backlog have been increasing.

low pe. low float. has explosive potential!
HOM - Home Solutions of America
Home Solutions of America, Inc. offers recovery, restoration, rebuilding/remodeling, and specialty interior services to commercial and residential properties in the United States. The company operates through two segments, Recovery/Restoration and Rebuilding/Remodeling. The Recovery/Restoration segment includes clean up and removal of debris, drying and dehumidification, and preparing affected areas for the next stage of restoration and rebuilding. It also offers water and fire restoration services; air decontamination; removal of mold, asbestos, and lead paint; cleaning, drying, and deodorization of carpet and furniture; and moving and storage services. The Rebuilding/Remodeling segment involves in the production and installation of custom kitchen cabinets and countertops; and the installation of custom marble and granite countertops. They have worked on hurricane cleanup and rebuilding and recently expanded a contract with Home Depot to fabricate and install kitchen and bath countertops.
On June 2nd, HOM came under attack by stocklemon.com resulting in an approximately 57% decline in share price and the threat of lawsuits has ensued. Management reiterated guidance, called the suits frivolous and the one analyst (with ties to HOM) confirmed their targe price of $15.50 and said it would be reached within 6 months instead of 12. All and all not a good time to be an investor in HOM.
So why pick this stock?
1. Let the numbers speak for themselves (Yahoo numbers). Over the past 2 fiscal years, HOM has increased revenues 122% and 119% respectively and increased gross profit 108% and 107% during the same periods. YOY Net Income went from negative to positive and then to an increase of 180% over the past fiscal year. Trailing PE is 23.62 while forward PE is 8.25 (quite the bargain). During their last quarterly report (May 15), management increased 2006 earnings projections to 56-60 cents/share from a previous projection of 42-46 cents/share an increase of 22-42%. This raised projection was based on increased demand for their services because of hurricane related damage. The raised guidance was reiterated during the stocklemon fiasco. So, unless management is lying and their previous earnings reports are false, just the numbers make this really an incredible investment.
2. A couple of catalysts are presenting themselves during the 3SOF contest.
a. Hurricane season has started and this year is expected to be almost as bad as last year. Much of HOM's work involves cleanup and rebuilding activity because of hurricane damage. Management is still expecting an increase in their workload from last year's hurricanes (hence raised guidance) so the current hurricane season should add even more work.
b. Earnings should be reported around the middle of August about the time the contest ends. Short percentage is approximately 25-27% currently. If revenue forecasts don't change and the quarterly earnings report is on time, the run up to earnings date should see shorts begin to cover and longs begin to buy. A pre-announcement of earnings should start this process even earlier.
c. The NASDAQ listing that was to take place a couple of weeks ago was delayed and a request for more information from HOM was made. A NASDAQ listing, in the next couple of weeks, would certainly be a catalyst to move the stock higher short term and would allay some of the fears currently surrounding the stock and it's trade.
Now some charts. The 6 month chart shows the rapid ascent and decline of HOM. Management sold some shares near the top but the stock was already in decline before the stocklemon report. What goes up must come down. ;) As you can see, there is a strong area of support above $6.00 that began with a breakout and retest in March. Disregarding the freakish selloff day down to $4.79, real support is in the $6.11 to $6.19 range and the stock has done a good job of at least closing within or above this area. The RSI is slowly strengthening and the MACD has had a bullish divergence for a month now with the signal lines finally crossing this past week.
The shorter term chart shows a descending triangle with the support zone as the demand line. It is interesting to note that the last 3 trading days resulted in something of a tweazer bottom with lows of $6.30 each day.
The weekly chart is my fav (and not because of the finger ;)). This past week resulted in an inverted hammer and was the first up week in the past 7. And that support zone outlined in the daily charts above? It also contains the 61.8% fib retracement level as well as an intersection with an ascending trendline. Can you say support? I thought you could. :D I would like to see the MACD start to flatten but at least the STOs have already done so. The uptick in the RSI is nice but more follow through is needed. It's time for some good news to get this going!
I already have my own position in HOM but for anyone looking to start one, I would recommend either buying in the support zone or on a breakout of the descending triangle. If the events outlined above take place, this one could be a rocket pretty quickly.
1. My Pick: ** (PESI) Perma-Fix Environmental Services Inc. **
2. Reason: PESI's income statement is consistently increasing year over year, The Company's balance sheet also improving since 2002. And this first quarter of 2006 Perma-Fix Environmental Services Inc. has reported its best first quarter in company history.
The technicals looks also very good, as you can see we got BIG white candle for Friday's session I hope for pullback to the middle of white marubozu on Monday opening for better entry price for the contest.
The first chart we got an Ascending Triangle breakout & the second chart is looks to be a 2.5 years Symmetrical Triangle pattern. & last but not the least one of my favorite, I also considered this as a sign of fast uptrend "The Three Magic" (50sma, 200sma, 200ema clustering together – weekly & daily scale) in other words all the moving average for PESI are below the price so there is not much pressure there, First it needs to break the resistance below $3 before facing the major resistance around $3.75 ... time will tell ;)
P.S. I will pick up PESI just above the support area @ 2.20 if it goes down there, around 2.20 - 2.40 should be a good entry point for the pullback. ;)
3. Chart:
1) My pick CMED (China Medical Technologies Inc.)
2) Looking at fragile state the stock market in the U.S. is, China seems like a safer bet espically after the major correction in the foriegn stock markets a month or so ago there seems to be less downside risk. CMED has been beated down to a pulp and it looks like it has turned around and rebounded. CMED has had excellent fundamentals and the growth speaks for its self...
4th quater profits soared up 75%.
http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/060616/earns_china_medical.html?.v=1
With a P/E much lower then the industrial average and above average growth puts CMED in good standing. Today CMED went up 5.55% in a big down day for the stock market. Showing strength into the weakness shows high buyers intrest in CMED. Short % of float is on the low side at 5.69% but might give way to a slight short squeeze in the short term. CMED looks good to take off in the short to mid term, however the 50DMA might show some resistance as it has in the past but there is a good chance blasting upward this time around. If resistance doesnt hold in the 22s-23s it looks good for take off.
Techincals look good for recovery; MACD is postive and going up, RSI is at 51 and looks like it will continue heading up, volume looks like its picking up as well, 5 DMA is crossing above 20 DMA. Im looking for a price target between 25 and 35.
3) Here is a chart of CMED
MY PICK: TGC (Tengasco Inc.)
FUNDAMENTAL REASONS:
1.) Well, higher crude prices for one. This company is an oil & gas drilling and exploration company
2.) The energy sector in general, I believe, is gonna be bullish for the rest of the summer. Of course, volatility is to be expected in such a low priced stock, but considering tht the contest runs for a month, I figure that's enough time for TGC to run atleast 50% from current levels.
3.) A nice recent development with this company is that it recently closed a $50 mil. credit line with Citibank, as well as reported record Kansa oil production. Here's the news link released this past Wednesday: http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/060705/20060705005807.html?.v=1
Here's what the company CEO had to say (long term focus of course): "Establishing a working relationship with an energy lender with Citibank's national presence in oil and gas lending is the last piece in our cleanup of the Company's finances and in laying a foundation for our continued growth
TECHNICAL REASONS:
1.) Well, the chart seems to have broken through downward trend line. Of course, it;s gotta convincingly close and stay above the $1.40'ish mark for a confirmation, but again, I'm taking my chances with the 1 month timeline we have for the contest! ;)
2.) the chart is also flirting around with the $1.40 mark which happens to be the 50 DMA; I believe it's just a matter of time before the cross-over is complete and the ensuing move to test 52 week high at $2.08
3.) Volume has shown sign of returning the last 3 days, after a couple of weeks of no interest from market.
Happy trading everybody! :)
KONG Kongzhong Corp (NASDAQ GM)
Kongzhong is going to lead the pack in entertainment for mobile phones in China (I hope) and has suffered from the poor US market but makes its money in China so the PPS has depreciated unlawfully. The stock I believe has bottomed out or is close to it, even though it is not the best entry point, the contest starts tommarro and the potential gains outweigh the poor entry point.
Heres a description copy and pasted off yahoo finance.
KongZhong Corporation, together with its subsidiaries, provides wireless interactive entertainment, media, and community services to mobile phone users in the People's Republic of China. It also engages in the development, distribution, and marketing of consumer wireless value added services. The company offers its services through 2.5G technology platforms, including WAP, MMS, and Java that offers graphics, content, and interactivity wireless services. In addition, it provides various data and voice services through 2G technology platforms, such as SMS, IVR, and CRBT. The company's interactive entertainment services include mobile games, pictures, karaoke, electronic books, and mobile phone personalization features, such as ringtones, wallpapers, clocks, and calendars. Its media services provide content, such as domestic and international news, entertainment, sports, fashion, lifestyle, and other special interest areas. KongZhong was founded by Yunfan Zhou and Nick Yang as Communication Over The Air, Inc. in 2002 and changed its name to KongZhong Corporation in 2004. The company is headquartered in Beijing, China.
My pick: ZL - Company name: Zarlink Semiconductor
Reason:
If I have some money, I will put more in it. Right now, its price is still below my buying point.
Don't know much about reading chart and it's hard to analyze it for me.
Chart: I don't know how to post chart. If anyone can help to post it, thank you.

Right then, another stock picking contest, lets hope we (almost) all do better than the last one!!
So, my pick is gonna be Insmed (INSM).
Has had a lot of coverage here in the last several months, with a lot of expectations riding on the commercialization of their growth hormone drug Iplex, which is also seen to have significant potential in other areas, most notably diabetes. However, on release, the share price didn't exactly go through the roof (though it did get a decent little rally a couple of weeks ago when it broke out of the falling wedge).
It appears that this is primarily due to uncertainties surrounding patent issues in a legal suit with a competitor Tercica. This week INSM's share price tanked on news that the California court ruled against Insmed on Tercica's patent infringement case, however, I think this is overdone. Essentially, this court's decision means that the patent dispute will have to be resloved at trial in November, as opposed to being thrown out now, which was what Insmed was asking for and what the court ruled against. In any case this legal action is not going to stop Insmed producing, marketing and selling IPlex, which appears to have several distinct safety and efficacy advantages over Tercica's drug.
In the mean time, with IPlex's release to market a few weeks earlier than expected this quarter should hopefully boost both earnings and patient numbers for their first quarter of sales. Q2 Earnings should be announced end of July/beginning of August, within the time-frame of the contest. If IPlex uptake exceeds expectations, I think that the share price should jump.
Technically, as I mentioned, INSM recently broke out of a 6 month descending wedge after the run-up following FDA IPlex Certification. This weeks tank brought it back down to the descending support line and to its pre-approval levels, representing a good value entry. Right here, I think the risk/reward looks appealing. From Friday's close at 1.29, the first resistance would be the bottom of the gap, at 1.45, representing a 12.5% gain. Second target is 1.65 resistance, a 28% gain from here, and finally, a 3rd target of the recent gap to crap sell-off at 1.83, which would be a 42% gain.
I still don't think this would represent fair value, but I do think all of these are achievable in the next month, so I'm gonna pick it (I already picked some up last week too ;))
My pick this time is PRZ
PainCare Holdings, Inc.,
Through its subsidiaries, provides healthcare services for the treatment of pain through physician practices and surgery centers in North America. The company operates 21 pain-focused physician practices and 9 outpatient surgery centers through its physicians trained in interventional pain management, orthopedics or physiatry using medical technologies, clinical practices, and equipment. PainCare also provides intraoperative monitoring and interpretation services to hospitals and surgeons. In addition, it offers medical real estate and development services. PainCare, formerly Hi-Profile Corporation, was founded in 1984 and is headquartered in Orlando, Florida.
This is one I have been watching and trying to buy on a pull back...I stepped in at 1.75 last week of June and was happy to see it break and hold the ascending triangle. Also holding at the 1.70 support was important. It was moving a few days prior to earnings release on June 21 and jumped with the announced numbers
-- Pain Care Holdings Inc. 06/21/2006. The Orlando, Fla. medical services provider reported earnings of $11.9 million, or 17 cents a share. In the same quarter last year it posted a loss of $27.8 million, or 63 cents a share. Excluding items, the company said its earnings were 5 cents a share vs. 4 cents a share last year. The company posted revenues of $23.3 million, up 64% from $14.2 last year.
The price rose on this news also on July 6
PainCare Holdings Regains Compliance With AMEX Continued Listing Standards
PR Newswire (Thu, Jul 6)
I see clear skies til the 2.90 gap then there will be a stall, I hope at that point I will have a chance to get out at the open. Only 30-35 % but the way I have performed in previous contests....I will take it, and of course my personal portfolio will thank me. I neeed alittle positive after the last couple of months.
Good Luck All
Cheers ;D

This month... I make my pick on the "Can't fall any further..." theorem. I've made picks out of my portfolio every contest until now... and I won't stop on this one ;D.
I pick CYTO. Looks like it might be bottoming :D. RSI is very, very low and MACD seems to have bottomed and appears to be recovering. This thing has dropped like a rock since the CFO resigned but looks somewhat technically attractive. Has a good 30% in it once it gets on a bit of a better track. If the contest lasted a week, I wouldn't choose this stock... but a month should give it enough time to make a turn around if it does. Otherwise I will consider getting out of my actual position. There are no fundamental reasons to buy this stock... just modest technicals and a month to waste ;D
Here's the chart:
1) My pick: EPIX Pharmaceuticals Inc. (EPIX)
2) Reasons:
This is a technical play, I've already a setup running on our Premium Portfolio, and now I want to test it here at the contest ;)
EPIX just triggered an Inverted Head & Shoulders pattern, the breakout of the neckline was made last Wednesday, already with a throwback to that level during Friday with a good reaction to the upside and volume above average. Another catalyst for this trade is the big short interest on the stock and the potential short squeeze on perspective.
The target of this technical pattern is $6.13, with the right market conditions I think EPIX could get there during the contest.
3) Chart:
My pick STEM
Showed up on my radar.
Volume on friday up 126%.
This is going to be very big in future.I am betting on being a little better in very near future.
A part of an article that really speaks volume
Dr. Douglas Kerr, assistant professor of neurology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, used experimental stem cell technology to successfully repair lab rats' damaged spines, restoring mobility to their legs.If scientists are able to repeat this success in humans, stem cells could eventually be used to help paralyzed patients walk again, even in cases where spinal cords are severed by motorcycle accidents, sports injuries or war wounds. Kerr's experiment gives hope to a broad range of therapies for the rebuilding of kneecaps, brain cells, and even the pancreas in diabetics. Stem cells are being considered as treatments for multiple sclerosis and brain damage, and diseases like Lou Gehrig's, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's
There has been some renewed interest generated after the above article. The industry has been strugling lately.I think these stocks are going to be coming back into rotation soon.Hopefuly before the contest is over.
Technicaly speaking : It is showin uptrend in price since around middle of june . strength in volume 3 month ave.1274450 friday vol. 2655565.
Breaking out of a downward chanel.
touching a short term ascending triangle
1) My pick: Travelzoo Inc. (TZOO)
2) Reasons:
This is an earnings trend technical play. TZOO has earnings Thursday July 20th. The stock is one of the most volatile out there.. and it is seeing even more action than usual lately. Volume is high. I consider this a very risky play but potential on this one is for a run into earnings or perhaps some kind of earnings surprise. Insiders sold heavily on the last run-up but price has maintained nicely above all major moving averages. It is travel season.. more people online then ever.. lets see if they used Travelzoo. ;)
3) Charts:
Pick: PLB
Company Profile
American Italian Pasta Company is primarily a producer and marketer of dry pasta in North America. Its product line, which consists of over 3,500 items or stock-keeping units (SKUs), includes long goods, such as spaghetti, linguine, fettuccine, angel hair and lasagna, and short goods such as elbow macaroni, mostaccioli, rigatoni, rotini, ziti and egg noodles. In many instances, the Company produces pasta according to customers' specifications. It makes over 220 different shapes and sizes of pasta products in over 225 package configurations, including bulk packages for institutional customers and smaller individually wrapped packages for retail consumers. The Company contracts with third parties for the production of certain specialized pasta shapes, such as stuffing shells and manicotti, which are necessary to offer customers a range of pasta products. Purchased pasta represented less than 1% of its total unit volume during the fiscal year ended October 1, 2004 (fiscal 2004).
PLB has been in a huge downtrend for the past 5 years dropping from $50 to below $5. But the chart has been looking better and better the last couple months making huge gains and forming a nice looking top heavy symmetrical triangle. On top of that insiders have been buying as recently in the low 8's which is definatley a bullish sign.
Good luck fellow contestants!

CH Robinson Worldwide ( a NASDAQ stock) is a fairly expensive stock compared to the other picks I have observed thus far, but I think CHRW has just a good a chance to move assuming the market will co-operate. She is my pick folks.
CH Robinson provides freight transportation services and logistics solutions to companies in North and South America, Europe and Asia. CHRW is the largest freight brokerage firm in the United States.
Being this is my first contest to enter, I'm finding it a challenge to enter pertinent information in a timely manner. Mostly because, as a learner, I really do not have it all firm in my head yet, but know of the importance. Now that is humbling to admit. But here goes:
I use IBD quite a lot these days to evaluate my watchlist, so per IBD the Ratings as of 7/09/2006 are as follors:
EPS = 93
RS = 93
Transportation-Services Group given A+ rating
CHRW is rated #2 within that group and has an overall rating of 99
Rates in the top 40% of all publicly traded companies based on 4 fundamental factors: Sales growth rate over the last 3 quarters, before and after tax profit margins, and return on equity (ROE) (given B rating)
Beta 1.5
IBD gives CHRW a Relative Strength rating of 93 of which I expect to turn up soon as she once again finds strong MM support sometime this next week.
Average Daily Volume is 1,235,100
5.9% from its 52 week high
Market Capitalization of $9016 Million
A weekly chart shows CHRW on a steady and consistent incline since 1998. In the middle of April of this year, along with many other strong stocks, she took a slight downward consolidation, finding support before its 200d ema on the 13th of June and has been moving upwards since that time, finding consistent MM support at the 10ma. Last Friday saw a small bounce just above the 10d once again. We may see one more day of profits before turning skyward once again.
TSV (Middle section) is a Telechart only indicator. Looking at the TSV you can see how it accurately shows the movement of the stock. Notice on 6/13 when CHRW found strong MM support the TSV began working its way above its 19d avg. and is now continuing up above its zero center line far away from its daily average.
My pick is GV
Well known here as one of the best picks in 3SoF history and simultaneously as one of the worst trades in 3SoF history. GV drove one member to a psychotic break: http://www.3stocksonfire.org/trading/index.php?topic=5301.msg63185#msg63185
I like the cup and handle as displayed on the chart below. I also like that I should be able to get an entry price near the 20 ema. The pullback from the $2.80 high was steep and exacerbated IMO by 1. the overall market weakness, 2. possibly the shenanigans at HOM, another hurricane play (guilt by association, though GV and HOM are in different areas of hurricane relief), and 3. sellers who helped run up the price thinking GV was a gold play, and then helped run it back down.

The company specializes in installing and maintaining electrical transmission lines for a wide range of electric utilities. Goldfield is also involved in the development of high-end condominium projects on Florida's east coast.
Revenue increased 70% in Q1 06 from Q1 05. Current PE is ~13.
Hi All,
My Pick is an old timer: EZM
This is a pure Technical play. We're reaching a point of resistance so it's quite risky. I think it's a double or nothing play.
--> For those who don't know EZM :
EuroZinc Mining Corporation engages in the acquisition, exploration, development, and mining of base metal deposits internationally. The company owns the Neves-Corvo copper mine; and the Aljustrel zinc, lead, and silver project in southern Portugal. EuroZinc was founded in 1981 and is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada.
CLBE - CalbaTech
these links should show everyone investing in CLBE just exactly what they are about and why they are going to increase in value tremendously. For those here who remember our pick of BIPH from .09 to .20's as a strong buy and it ran to $3.60 within a few months and TDCP from the subs to $3's within the same year CLBE is projected to reach $2 to $4 range in the not so distant future.DD it closely and my personal contact with Paul in IR says a PR is due out any time now on the opening of the new MicroBank for stem cell collections.CLBE is an adult stem cell med sector company and there is no unethical restrictions.

NVAX
Once again I'm going to try this one. There are a number of reasons for this choice, I'll only list a few:
A. The company had given every indication that trial results would be completed by the end of June. I expect some published results during the contest period.
B. They just hired a new IR Vp. I expect this new VP to start earning her keep and believe we will start to see a reshaping of how this company wants the street to view their business plan.
C. The stock has just experienced a short term decline on low volume over the last few trading days back down to previous good entry levels.
D. The company has an earnings report and a business conference scheduled by AUG 15th. My bet is stock moves up in anticipation of these events.
E. finally this stock no longer seems to have the momo crowd interested and retail has I believe given up on this one. Contrary opinion tells me I might like this.
Good luck to all
GIGA MEDIA GIGM
Company is on a brilliantly executed management turnaround, it has had a great 2006 already, faltered some recently, but now consolidating. Fundamentally undervalued, Q2 numbers and PR on on-going developments should help further upward movement. Technically chart looking for support around $8, recent purchases by a declared 10% holder of equity confirm insiders have high confidence in long term direction.
Whether GIGM can do anything decent stock wise in the next 30 days I am not so sure, but you never know.
I cannot post a chart right now as my main PC has crashed, so I need to rebuild it. Will post it as soon as I am able.
My 'form' in the stock picking contest has been crap in fact I would guess on a cumulative basis I am bottom of the heap :D Hopefully this is not the kiss of death for GIGM :o
MRY is my pick...
I think MRY is going to be seeing some new highs.. strong resilience on down days and bullish movements during up days...
Memry Corporation engages in the design, development, manufacture, and marketing of products and components primarily for the medical device industry. Its shape memory alloys product line comprises betatitanium alloy, semifinished materials, wire, strip, tube, formed components, and subassemblies. The company's specialty polymer extrusion product line includes co-extruded tubing, total intermittent extrusions tubing, thermoset polyimide tubing, single lumen, multilumen, taper/bump, braided reinforced tubing, and wire coating.
B
hi,
my pick is LUM,Luminent Mortgage Capital Inc.
i haven't had much time to search for stocks so i quickly went to barchart.com this morning and pulled this one out.
it is a mortgage company , which might put some people off in this current market but they have some special tax deal going with the government. (great funadamental pitch ;D)
the chart looks bullish with the 13, 50 and 200 pulling away from eachother. dmi also making a move. i am hoping for a lower open this morning for a better entry.
good luck to all,
maxi
Ticker: ISV
Once again, ISV is going to be my pick. They are a technology & medical company, focusing on eye-related treatments. They have a fantastic product and a great potential as an investment. They have recently been beaten down from their high of $2.70, and may be preparing for run to new highs. They have recently touched the 200 ema, and I expect a strong reacion upward. I am looking for about 50% gain on this trade this month.
CHART:
My pick for this edition is EGI- Entree Gold Inc.
EGI recently took a hit to its shareprice with this news:
http://biz.yahoo.com/iw/060515/0129197.html
Entree Comments on Surprise Mongolian Government Tax Measure
EGI reports that the National Parliament of Mongolia appears to have approved a new, excess-profits tax on minerals, in a surprise vote on the night of Friday, May 12. The measure was passed, without industry comment and little parliamentary debate, by a majority of members present (35 out of 45 parliamentarians). There are 76 elected members of Parliament, meaning that the legislation was approved by less than 50 per cent of the Parliament.
The legislation, reportedly, allows for the imposition of a new tax beginning at a rate of 68% when copper prices reach $2,600 a tonne ($1.18 per pound), and when gold reaches $500 an ounce. Although the details of the legislation, and its potential impact, remain unclear, Entree's management believes it could deal a serious blow to mining, mineral exploration, and investment in Mongolia.
While the news hit the price of the stock hard I am hoping that the goverment and EGI, along with the other companies in Mongolia, will negotiate a settlement or convince the parliment that this new tax will stifle progress and lead to divestment throughout the region.
Stock price is up from recent lows and I believe good news will be coming out soon. If good news about the company and favorable news is released from the Mongolians at the same time we may see EGI take off to previous levels or higher.
OMNI
Omni has been on a tear in 2006 almost quadrupling in share price. It has posted increasing revenues and earnings. Recently, it has completed an acquisition to add to the top and bottom line. On June 2, it came out and said its 2nd quarter sales would beat the street. Then on June 28, it gave another release that said that earnings would be higher than previously stated. Given all these bullish indicators, I expect it to continue going up, at least until the next earnings report where investors may sell the news.
