Hi,
What's the price will it hit before it cools down ???

if it does continue its move up, this is what i see:
Hi,
I enter a position @ 1.19
Closing above 9ema does it mean the closing price need to above 1.07 so that ths stock will start to trend up ?
(sorry i am new to share charting)

Hi law,
What I meant is that as it goes higher(the 9ema will go higher too) I would like it to always close above the 9ema. This shows me that a strong trend is in place. Hope this helps ;D
I believe we have good entries(i'm in @ 1.17)
Lets see what shakes 8)
Thank you ;)
Hi,
Check the Yahoo web site on finance Finisar Corp (FNSR).
Finisar Corporation provides fiber optic subsystems and components, and network test and monitoring systems, which enable high-speed data communications over local area networks, storage area networks (SAN), and metropolitan area networks.

Whats your comment on this stock against AVNX
similar patterns but AVNX had enormous volume today...technically there is no question that AVNX is the stock to be in, in my opinion
hey law, i'm putting a stop on this one @ 1.15...and I'll move it higher if we get a run. Not happy with this one so far.
Hi,
The price is hovering between 1.19 and 1.20...
I feel it will break the 1.20
after a gap up over trend line lat week AVNX has pulled back on lower volume and filled gap - look for a bounce today or tomorrow -
first chart shorter term http://tinyurl.com/9yplc
then longer term http://tinyurl.com/ajrmm
Around $1 looks like a low risk entry, decending vol on the pullback, base is set at or just under $1. Nice upside potential 200ema at $2. Looks like a great pulback opportunity.
Nice setup. ;D
Strong potential!

Nice find here. Low-risk > high reward play. I'm in with you guys at 1.03

Those who also bought in today. What's your sentiment about the stock after todays play? I didn't follow this stock to long before I bought in.
Thanks

I agree that entry at current point may be less risky, but i donot see any exciting chart pattern here. You guys should note the big volume sell off in the last three days along with decreasing RSI. Thats too much of a pull back. Anyway good luck if you already own it.
And by big volume sell off i mean, more than above average volume.
looks like a trap to me, pulling buyers in. I'll have to ride the wave see where this ships headed.
Insider selling of 800,000
[email protected], today. Interesting.
Stock up 1.03 in AH. hum.
Feel like it is going to go high next week.
I hope. It's in the dog pile right now. But it can't get any lower.
Have not found any news. Have followed it the long road down, maybe time for a turnaround.
Sorry no Chart, still have not figured out.

Sorry no Chart, still have not figured out.
I took me awhile to figure it out, too. EliteG, Cumulina, Ramsburg and others helped me out. Here's what I do:
1. When you have a chart up on your screen, you can capture it by pressing the Print Screen key on your keyoard. On my keyboard, it's on the top row, to the right of F12.
2. When you press the Print Screen key on your keyboard it saves the image to the clipboard. You then...
A. Click your Start Button
B. Click All Programs
C. Click Accessories
D. Click Paint
3. When the Paint Sceen opens, Click Edit, then Click Paste on the Drop Down Menu. Your chart should appear on the blank page.
4. Click File.
A. On the drop down, click Save As.
B. When that opens, on the first line, put whatever name you want for your chart. I use the stock symbol, and the date. Example: CRYP 9-12-05. Don't use slashes. "/" For some reason, it won't accept it.
C. On the second line, click on the drop down menu, and select either .png or .jpg
D. After that, be sure to click the Save button
Now your chart is saved on your computer. To post your chart...
from EliteG...
"**to post image** - When you are writing a post in 3stocks there is a button underneath the text editor called Additional Options...you hit that and then hit browse to locate the chart saved on your computer. If you want to attach more, hit the more attachments button."
Good luck!
It looks to me that we got good buying opportunity with AVNX ..its not yet confirmed but its better to buy at low & sell it high..more profit ;) well, we will see.. just keep an eye on it ;)
....and watch the volume we got high volume in the past few days ..The professionals hitting on it ;)
How many more shares do Corning have to sell. When will it end!

is there more upside with AVNX... thoughts? closed above a dollar now..
Modifying the support from my previous chart ... AVNX could hit below 2 bucks.. maybe huh?
Broke through 200-dma with good up volume.
When it crossed, it decisevely crossed both the 13, 50 and the 200-dma.
I will be watching for the pull back and how it reacts.

AVNX over support levels! :)
This stock went down the past few days, but on lower volume. Is this still bullish? I still have my position.
Thanks
Leaira
AVNX is coming down after hitting the upper trendline a few days ago. It's still in a bullish channel. MACD is still bullish. :)
As long as it stays above the lower trendline tomorrow at 1.23, it remains bullish; however, the overall market is bearish. :P
I think AVNX may have established a support at $1.00 on Friday, January 6. The company lowered revenue expectations from $37 Million to $35 Million and the stock dropped about 17% in one day. I think this is a good entry point to pickup a bounce, but I would like to know what others think. The 3-month chart is below. There's no real support until maybe $0.85 but I don't think the stock will fall that far because the it did not lower revenue guidance enough to justify that kind of drop.

Avanex says Q2 revenue will be lower than expected
Friday January 6, 12:08 pm ET
Avanex Corp., which sells fiber optic technology, said Friday it expects revenue for the second quarter ended Dec. 31 to be lower than its previous guidance.
The Fremont company (NASDAQ: AVNX - News) said preliminary financial data lead it to expect revenue of between $35 million and $37 million for the quarter. Previously, the company gave guidance of between $41 million and $45 million.
Avanex shut a factory in Erwin Park, N.Y., in December, and shifted manufacturing from that plant to a contractor. This change contributed to the shortfall in revenue.
Avanex cut its cash usage to about $8 million in the second quarter, compared with $40 million in its first quarter.

Avanex Announces Preliminary Financial Results for Second Fiscal Quarter 2006
FREMONT, Calif., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Avanex Corporation (Nasdaq: AVNX), a pioneer of intelligent photonic solutions that enable next-generation optical networks, today announced preliminary financial results for its second fiscal quarter ended Dec. 31, 2005.
Based on preliminary financial data, the company expects net revenue in the second fiscal quarter to be in the range of $35 Million to $37 Million, compared to previous revenue guidance of $41 Million to $45 Million. Avanex expects positive gross margins but below its previous guidance of greater than 10 percent.
Cash usage decreased to approximately $8 Million in the second fiscal quarter compared to $20 Million in the first fiscal quarter. Avanex expects its cash and cash equivalents, short-term investments, restricted cash and investments to be approximately $46 Million as of Dec. 31, 2005 compared to $54 Million at Sept. 30, 2005.
The shortfall in revenue and gross margin was due to operational execution issues that arose primarily as a result of the closure of the Erwin Park, New York manufacturing facility in early December and the transfer of manufacturing to a contract manufacturer. Jo Major, Avanex CEO, commented, "While we are pleased with our cash control and overall customer demand, we are obviously disappointed that transitional operational issues prevented us from meeting the delivery needs of our customers and our revenue objectives for the quarter. The Avanex team is working closely with our contract manufacturer for these products to resolve these issues."
Avanex is in the process of transferring substantially all of its manufacturing to contract manufacturers.
The results announced today are preliminary and are subject to change. Avanex will report its full results for the second fiscal quarter on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at 4:30 p.m. Eastern time. The number for the conference call is +1-210-835-2510, and the password is "Avanex." To listen via the Internet, please log on to www.avanex.com. A replay of the conference call will be available until Feb. 16, 2006 at +1-203-369-0356 or online at www.avanex.com under "Investors/Audio Archives."

4.5 times difference in market cap is NOT justified.
FNSR former CEO Levinson left, selling massively.AVNX has big insider BUY instead.
Historically AVNX has been trading at higher price level.
Personally one more reason - I just do not get all of these acquisitions by FNSR and also
their cash position is sth mystical.Where is cash going to from this co??
AVNX at least 50% undervalued compared to FNSR.jmo.
It is all on tomorrow CC.
Looks like Avanex's loss has narrowed quite a bit this last quarter, down to .09 per share (.06 per share GAAP) on revs of $36.1M, so maybe their restructuring is on track here. They are guiding revs of $36-40M for next quarter, but it is not clear how this will convert to EPS, although on the CC they are stressing reducing their cost basis and restructuring.
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/060208/sfw104.html?.v=30
This level and next quarters levels of revs are still below the last couple of quarters, but it remains to be seen what WS makes of this tomorrow. Price was unbelievably static today ???
volume picking up. things seem to have settled for AVNX.
this stock may really fly sometimes >:D
Yep, I think we have an ascending triangle breakout on our hands ;D
Low = .95, high = 1.20 -> Breakout target of 1.45.
I got in this morning at 1.15, have been scoping AVNX for a while now after trading it well when it was a 3SOF pick. Shoulda got in around 1.06, but shoulda woulda coulda - in now. I think the earnings report will be taken well, and as evidence that AVNX is clearly in turnaround and restrucutring of their cost basis is producing results. Not quite sure what a fair value is yet, will have to investigate some more, but I hope for a run into the 1.40s at least for now. Will see. Nice breakout though, and boy am I glad it was static this morning allowing me a decent entry ;D
After breaking out of that ascending triangle on solid volume for 2 days, AVNX had 2 days of pullback on lower volume, hitting 1.20 support yesterday and closing on a doji. The fact that key support at 1.20 didn't break is crucial, and I think the candlestick pattern suggests the small pullback is through. I am looking for a nice little candle today, followed by a move into 1.30+ either the end of this week or beginning of next week. What I don't want to see is a move below 1.20 support, invalidating the breakout, and will sell on a close below this level.
Nice breakout here ;)
Scottish, are you holding it ?
best regards !
you better believe it ;D ;D ;D
Actually sold out a couple of days ago when I thought 1.40 resistance would push it back down again, but after yesterday's clear break through 1.40 I got right back in. Looking real good so far... What ever happened to AVNX for 3SOF????
Hey Scottish, I thought I would find a post from you here today. Nice move, up 15% now. As stated previously I'm parking here for the long haul. Good to see you caught it yesterday. Next resistance around $1.65.
uc.
Yea, was a bit annoyed with myself as I called it wrong on my sell, but at least I corrected that mistake and only lost a few pennys (and a few shares). The last few days has almost been too much for me - yesterday was really ugly - and left me over 10% down for the month, despite some very solid gains. So have sold a lot that concerned me. But AVNX shouldn't have been one of them. Am reading Remenicences of a stock operator right now, and it is such good advie - if you're getting worried, sell your losers, let your winners run!
No doubt AVNX will be a winner - I am sure we will see a move towards 2.00 over the next month.
AVNX will probably form a cup & handle.
AVNX & BCON started the day at $1.42 and they are still side by side. wow!. I've had to suffer with both but today a little redemption. I will get that book, I've been meaning to, just not alot of time these days. I've been hanging on to SIRI and it's killing, but I just can't let go.
uc,
I know!!!
Looks like BCON is winning right now though
I put in a new order on BCON at $1.70 and it just blow right past it. Didn't press that order button quick enough. Now at $1.84 :o Maybe it will come back and get it.

Avanex to Release Dual Parallel DQPSK and SSB Modulators for 10 Gb/s and 40 Gb/s at Optical Fiber Communications Conference (OFC) 2006
Friday March 3, 8:30 am ET
FREMONT, Calif., March 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Avanex Corporation (Nasdaq: AVNX - News), a pioneer of intelligent photonic solutions that enable next- generation optical networks, today announced the introduction of its SD10-DP and SD40-DP Lithium Niobate modulators for the Differential Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (DQPSK) modulation format, which enables higher transmission efficiency at 10 Gb/s and 40 Gb/s. The DQPSK modulators will be displayed at OFC 2006, booth 2640 March 7 - 9, in Anaheim, Calif.
The DQPSK modulation allows higher spectral efficiency in DWDM transmission. The small optical bandwidth of the DQPSK modulation format dramatically reduces the need for dispersion compensation in the network. Ten Gb/s transmission is improved due to the increased dispersion tolerance of the DQPSK format, which makes the DQPSK an ideal format for ultra-long-haul and submarine transmission. Moreover, 10 Gb/s signals can potentially be transmitted on 25 GHz (or less) channel spacing grid.
In addition, the DQPSK modulation format enables the transmission of 40 Gb/s signals over existing 10 Gb/s network infrastructure with either 50 GHz or 100 GHz channel spacing. Also, the tolerance against polarization mode dispersion (PMD) is significantly improved with respect to other modulation formats, reducing the technical hurdles for deployment of 40 Gb/s transmission in existing 10 Gb/s networks.
"Avanex has implemented a fully integrated dual parallel modulator solution that enables more robust modulator operation with respect to other configurations," said Giovanni Barbarossa, CTO of Avanex. "The DQPSK uses parallel Mach-Zehnder-type modulators embedded in a super Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The Avanex design distinguishes itself by its outstanding electro-optic characteristics, low drive voltages and single side RF inputs. These features significantly simplify the design and lower the cost of transponder solutions."

ok I have no idea what that PR means but there is no doubt about it, AVNX is ROCKIN >:D >:D >:D
That is 4 PRs abut new product releases in as many days in the run up to this big Optical Fiber Communication Conference - there is no doubt that they are turning things around and lets hope they get some good press off this conference as well.
ll I can say is MY GOD semi-conductor stocks are hot right now!!! JDSU, FNSR, CNXT, AVNX all rocking these last few days - I'm sure there are more.
What I like especially is look who's winning now ;D ;D
Beacon interests me because its a growth stock, Avanex because its a turnaroud and now I am back looking at CRAY, another turnaround. It was an exciting week. I hope next week can be similar.
Have a good weekend.

That's my double (hee hee) ;D ;D ;D
Well not quite in reality as I sold out and re-bought slightly higher, but a double from my original purchase price of $1.15 a few weeks ago. Man I wish last months stock picking contest ended this week instead of last week. Oh well, such is life. AVNX looking good for this week, I really don't know when it is going to top out, but looks very strong once again. A LOT of money moving into this stock, and probably more good news this week.
Man I really wish I owned more of this.... (but VERY happy with what I got ;D)
AVNX sure is goin up :o :o :o
Check out that ascending triangle breakout on the 1 min chart - crazy ;D ;D
Yes!!
Up 26% on high volume.

Wow what a white knuckle ride on AVNX today :o
Was up huge in the morning, peaking at 2.66, then battled with support/resistance at 2.57-2.58 for a while before breaking down along with most of the rest of the semis I was watching at the time. Things got pretty ugly for a bit, but she finished strong, up over 18% for the day. I was in and out, but ultimately didn't rally make anything, just increased my position a bit.
AVNX continues to look strong, with volume increasing today once again, but also a bit dicey - it's gonna have to consolidate these gains at some point, and I think a lot of people will starrt getting itchy with their sells soon. Will see what tomorrow brings... hopefully a little bit more ;D
AVNX doing well too in after hours ;)
News Hmmm!

Question : Does this mean $2.00 will probably form a support level and we could expect it to remain around there for a while. My impression from other stock issues is this would be the case. But, I also know I don't have a great deal of experience with this situation.
Thanks in advance!
uc.
Setravis, I'm starting to feel I should have taken your advice yesterday.
Down 8%. (But I will hold)
I doubt it. 16% dilution and the price had dropped 18% since close. Also, having cash is good for the company. Once people accept it the rally will hopefully continue. My only recent experience with this was buying NVAX in AH after the 100 million shelf registration was announced. It dropped something like 20%. I bought and it opened back up 20%.
Well all I can say is lets hope 2.00 holds - we closed mighty close today, but it held and it does make sense (though I remeber HOM after it made its stock offering, got beaten down below the offer price for quite a while - but then again is doing much better now).
Makes a bit of a mess of that lovely chart though - shame to put such a big red candle on there - what concerns me is that volume was higher today than even the last few days - in fact today was the highest volume day in the last 3 years!! (can't see further back than that). But my monitor shows 12million buys and 10 million sells (with a bunch unkown), which at least suggests there was a lot of buying into the drop at these levels.
I just wish I had held off the itchy trigger finger yesterday when I bought back in after sleling for over 60% profit - saw a bunch of that wiped off today - ugh :P Gotta learn when the right time to buy back is after a big runup - and its rarely the same day!!!
Looks promising today. Good volume and up 7%

Hey, Setravis, what price did you get in @ ?
Yep, good to see the volume holding up as well - all the FO stocks are continuing to act well and just about mirror each other - wish I had bought some JDSU yesterday morning.

Just able to post a little here and there, I have been very busy with other things going on.
But I did manage to get in this @ $1.20
Nice entry setravis, I assume you have held since then. I got shook out a couple of times from 1.15(much to my chagrin :-[) but am still long with a very nice gain. Have been a little concerned about these gaps and then intraday weakness that have been showing up the last couple of days. Looks to have headed up AH on friday above 2.40 (friday's resistance) so we could seee another gap on Monday. While it is going up on this movement, I feel like it needs a nice white marubozu to confirm continued strength. Volume is still good though. I think we could se further resistance around 2.60.
Any thoughts about a target on AVNX?

For anyone who is still in AVNX Jim Cramer is pumping this on his show - it's now at 2.68
Lalitha
God damn Carmer!!!!
I sold today cos I was sure it wasn't coing to break 2.40 resistance today and had a feeling it would trade in range some more, and then he goes n pumps it right through the roof!!!
Man, I'm just gonna have to see what's cooking in the morning then grr....
but if he makes it pop like FNSR....
This one gapped up and stalled with 52 million shares trding hands. Not sure what to make of it............The fact that profit taking didn't bring it down at close bodes well..............IMHO
Lets see if price follows volume........hopefully up.
I'm not sure why stockcharts shows an open of 2.45, because it definitely opened around 2.69 as I was watching it fervently, but I agree - amazing to see such an enromous amont of shares traded and almost no movement whatsoever. But there was certainly a lot of buying.
AVNX has moved up to 2.74 AH, lets see if today will give it further push to the upside.
This one is sure trading interseting, almost like a price target of lets say $4 has been made by big money and there loading up for the grand fanalie.............No sure (still ) what to think. Although I'm in at $2.69 ..... ;D
Too much volume not to see another $.50+ cent move from here $2.94.....IMHO But what do I know.
Another surge after hours...the Cramer double pump has really caused a stir which this stock 8)
The power of the markets.............. :o
Depending on the gap tomorow and if it stalls, I might jump out. I also think 109 million shares last 2 days are looking to see $4, We'll have to wait and see.
Super volume the last coupe of days..... ;D
The hype is huge. :o

And gapped up AH - currently at 3.47 :o :o :o
I agree and will probably look for an exit today or tomorrow. Plus I'm off onholiday next week, so this is not the kind of gain I want to sit blindly on.
Just Crazy though - 200%+ in under 2 months - awesome!!!
3.58.....and not finishe....
--> STOCK in a HURRY !!
FYI.............I jumped out at $3.32...........Looking for it to settle down a bit, but I still think the march will continue.
Hmm.... I bought more, but then it got KILEED in the afternoon (along with all the other FO plays) Seems like there was a major sell-off yesterday afternoon ??? ???
Not really too sure what to expect today - we could see further selling based on that big red candle, but it may also stabilise around 3.00 - this appeared to provide some support yesterday afternoon.
Man, this stock is hot on the weekly chart. Look at that +DI(13) it's pointing up in the sky & also the MACD fast line there is no sign of selling off yet, this thing is hot!!!
I'll bet my money on it, AVNX will break that $3.72 resistance on the upside in a matter of time, one thing that worries me is the EMA200, that resistance EMA200 stands tomorrow @ $4.59 ;)
AVNX gapping up in the PM today after closing above 3.10 resistance yesterday- heads up!!!
Could be ready for the next leg up ;D
Looking for support at 13ema & 200ma. Consolidating for next leg up hopefully.
Holding long.
uc.
I think it's time make a quick profit before earnings... AVNX back in play ;)
Avanex Corporation Earnings Call scheduled for Mon, May 8
Keep an eye on AVNX in the coming days - recently found support at the ascending trandline from before the breakout and looks to be basing here with overhead resistance at 2.03-2.05. 13ema has been holding it down during the retracement of the last couple of months and now sits at 2.05. Currently still within the descending channel, but support and resistance look to be converging.
If the market enacts a little recovery, AVNX may break out of this channel (hopefully to the upside?) Look for 2.05+ upside move. Support comes in around 1.83 right now, which should provide a reasonable stop loss or good buying op. Current risk at 1.98 would be 8% - maybe a little high for now.
Interesting timing here on AVNX. They have taken a swan dive from their last earnings report on virtually no news. ADX has just crossed to positive, first time since April 15th and they are reporting again on August 26th. A couple of good days yesterday and today with some volume coming in for the first time in awhile.

AVNX up over 10% premarket today on early revenue news.
The company said it expects revenue of $45.5 million for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2006, $162.9 million for the full year, and between $48 million and $50 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2007. The average estimates of analysts polled by Thomson First Call are for revenue of $43.6 million for the fourth quarter, $161.5 million for fiscal 2006, and $45.8 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2007.
Earnings come out today after hours. Currently at 1.82. I'm in from 1.525 last week. I'm probably look to get out of it today before earnings this afternoon.

Avanex Q1 revenue up
Thursday November 2, 9:15 pm ET
Avanex Corp. Thursday said it had record revenue for the first quarter of fiscal 2007, with strong growth of new products, but posted a loss greater than analysts' estimates.
Fremont-based Avanex (NASDAQ: AVNX - News), which sells technology used in fiber-optic networks, reported revenue of $50.9 million for the quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with revenue of $41.2 million during the same quarter a year ago.
The company had a net loss of $9.8 million for the quarter, or 5 cents per share, compared with a loss of $16.9 million, or 12 cents per share a year ago.
Analysts polled by Thomson Financial on average estimated a loss of 2 cents per share on $49.15 million in revenue.
AVNX is really serious about coming back into the spotlight.
After closing the gap it opened on the positive response to earnings it's back to higher grounds on good volume.
AVNX is sure goin up!!!
Gapping above key 1.82 resistance - looks ready to run. I put targets at 2.05 and 2.25. Could well be a big volume day...

Avanex Up on Upgrade to 'Buy'
Monday November 13, 2:09 pm ET
Avanex Shares Jump After Analyst Upgrades Stock on Market Share Gains
NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of Avanex Corp., a maker of fiber-optic networking equipment, jumped in Monday's trading after an analyst upgraded the stock and said the company may be stealing market share from a key competitor.
BWS Financial analyst Hamed Khorsand lifted his rating on the stock to "Buy" from "Hold" and said Avanex' increased fiscal first-quarter sales may have come at rival Bookham Inc.'s expense.
"Over the last six months Avanex has improved their output of products from their Asian manufacturing facility that has resulted in smaller inventory write downs at Avanex. The financial results from Bookham continue to be evidence that Avanex is regaining market share," Khorsand wrote in a note to investors.
Shares of Avanex, which have traded between 62 cents and $3.50 over the last year, were up 14 cents, or 7.9 percent, at $1.92 in midday trading on the Nasdaq
Potential........ ;D
BWS Financial upgrades Hold to Buy. Target $1.6 to $2.4. BWS Financial upgrades AVNX to Buy from Hold and raises their target to $2.40 from $1.60 saying Avanex (AVNX) is regaining market share from Bookham (BKHM) after AVNX reported revenue growth of 23.5% from 2005 while BKHM showed only 2.5% improvement. The firm says over the last six months AVNX has improved their output of products from their Asian manufacturing facility that has resulted in smaller inventory write downs at AVNX. They say the financial results from BKHM continue to be evidence that AVNX is regaining market share.

I stood by my original trading plan of a 2.05 exit.I got taken out @2.06 this morning. If profit takers can beat this down a bit I may look for a re-entry point.
2 taken out and 50ema crossed 200ema today. Looking good.
yep, nice close above 2.05 resistance. The whole semi sector seems to be looking good right now and I think we will see continuation of this uptrend into the end of the year. Looking to add to my position on any pullback.
oh my how things can change!!!
After hitting a high of 2.20 yesterday, I raised my stop to 1.94, which AVNX tagged right after the open!! grrr. my stops keep getting taken out all over the place >:D >:D Well, I may have been a bit too aggressive in protecting against loss on this one. AVNX looks like it may bounce from here next week, however if the last couple days of sector bearishness continues, it may break this support to test 1.83 support and a possible new ascending trendline. I would be a buyer again if it did so, but for now, I'll leave it to the rest of you guys.
Was only a small position on this one - loss of $11.94 or just under 1%
Hi, and a good day to all !

It may be close to time to get in.I could be dead wrong but I think this sector has plenty of strength left.Ill see if the BBs tighten and 1.7x looks like support over the next couple trading sessions.
To me this chart looks to have a "double",
Cup with Handle (continuation) Pattern. JMHO of course.
Another view could be a Rising Wedge (reversal) Pattern.

AVNX support is in. Institutions buying. Lot of upside here.
AVNX Trading! Fibre roll out is on full steam. AVNX has increasing revenues CC after CC. As FNSR has a problem with delisting. AVNX big returns coming over next 3 months.
AVNX made a lovely candle yesterday, breaking out from its descending channel. Potential cup n handle still in play (though the handle looks a bit big). MACD crossing its signal line, CCI looks good , RSI pointing up, basically everything suggests AVNX wants to go higher. Nice ;D.
Joined you this a.m. at $1.91
Jo Major has increased revenue guidance from last CC which showed nice gains best ever CC by the way from AVNX.
It's AVNX time. Telco's moving quickly in Europe.
breakout on the weekly
Tech from Microsoft Sony Hp says the products are here.
AVNX continues to look good. Am still holding and waiting for it to push through 2.12. Thought it might today, but not yet.... There is a little channel going on, so it could pull back, but volume is up and I think it wants to go this time. Any day now. CNXT also looking quite nice too...
I like CNXT, I have a holding there. Both looking nice.
One day soon we will have that 80 90 million volume and we break $4's $5's.
are you sure?$4..$5, then I will be rich...lol
long today at 2.20.....good luck! ;D
If on good news it can run from $0.64 to $3.50. It can sure run on good fundamentals from $2.20 to $5.
This years move is different from the last. Revenues have almost dubbled in 3 years. The chart is a nice steady climb.
And Sony, HP, Microsoft, Apple are all releasing products that will acquire more traffic to come into the household.
As Bill Gates said on Monday this is the decade for product and home entertainment, the only problem is we don't have the connections.
Fibre is at the beginning of the big roll out.
updated chart.
nice move!!! let's see now if it stalls @ the top of the wedge or
breaks out to 2.73
JDSU split. FNSR is in trouble. BKHM is doomed. And all this coming into a fibre run.
AVNX is the one#
4 weeks to the best revenue CC in AVNX history. Do your DD.
Nice analysis Keichi. I'm also curious to see whether AVNX can truly break out of this rising wedge pattern, which it tagged again last week. The recent break out of 2.12 resistance looks to be significant. I would like to see AVNX hold above this level in any consoildation. 2.20 may break, as it did on Friday intraday, but we have had 3 closes above this level, which also bodes well. AVNX could see some more consolidation, but what I don't want to see is another pullback to the base of the wedge (and the resulting slide in my profits!). I'm gonna keep an eye on the CCI and lookout for a move back below the 100 line to signal a potential retrace. For now, 2.09 seem a reasonable stop.
On the intraday, the last 3 days action looks like a textbook breakout from base at 2.12, with a flag forming off the recent high. 2.26 looks to be a short term pivot level, but really we want to see it break out of this flag to the upside on Tuesday.
AVNX profit margin guidance 20-25%. Says AVNX could hit
$60m for the quarter to get to
breakeven. AVNX sales have been ramping $5m per quarter over the last few
quarters.
That was with transition into a contract
manufacturing model.
So $60m for March looks a possibilty. The
question is whether with all that submarine business and FTTH
business.
Will AVNX have a $60 million CC or just below. Even so it just gets better.

AVNX broke down at the top of the channel, and came down to test 2.02 support on Thursday. Unfortunately it took out my 2.09 stop on the way. Rallied on Friday and managed to close above key 2.12 level. Will it continue to the upside, holding the short term trendline, or will it break down and test the base of the channel again? Tough to call, but as long as it holds up above 2.12 this week, it favours a bullish outcome.
CCI suggests further retrace, but it may rally off the bounce on the MACD signal line and RSI mid line.
Going to get Bullish coming into a great CC. Check out the Transcript on Seeking Alpha September the 5th 2006. For employee revenue growth.

Some are tying what Bill Gates said Today to AVNX:
Internet to revolutionize TV in 5 years: Gates By Ben Hirschler
Sat Jan 27, 5:02 PM ET
The Internet is set to revolutionize television within five years, due to an explosion of online video content and the merging of PCs and TV sets, Microsoft (Nasdaq:MSFT - news) chairman Bill Gates said on Saturday.
"I'm stunned how people aren't seeing that with TV, in five years from now, people will laugh at what we've had," he told business leaders and politicians at the World Economic Forum.
The rise of high-speed Internet and the popularity of video sites like Google Inc.'s (Nasdaq:GOOG - news) YouTube has already led to a worldwide decline in the number hours spent by young people in front of a TV set.
In the years ahead, more and more viewers will hanker after the flexibility offered by online video and abandon conventional broadcast television, with its fixed program slots and advertisements that interrupt shows, Gates said.
"Certain things like elections or the Olympics really point out how TV is terrible. You have to wait for the guy to talk about the thing you care about or you miss the event and want to go back and see it," he said.
"Internet presentation of these things is vastly superior."
At the moment, watching video clips on a computer is a separate experience from watching sitcoms or documentaries on television.
But convergence is coming, posing new challenges for TV companies and advertisers.
"Because TV is moving into being delivered over the Internet -- and some of the big phone companies are building up the infrastructure for that -- you're going to have that experience all together," Gates said.
YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley said the impact on advertising would be profound, with the future promising far more targeted ads tailored to each viewer's profile.
"In the coming months we're going to do experiments to see how people interact with these ads to build an effective model that works for advertisers and works for users," he said.
Advertisers are already racing to adapt their strategies to the growing power of the Web, and more and more promotional cash is tipped to migrate from television to Web sites in future.

You really shouldn't make bonehead statements like this...it makes you look like an idiot...especially if someone were to do a search on all your other worthless pumps

agreed. Back up a statement with a chart!!! Personally, I also think AVNX is due for a rebound from here, and if the general market makes a little rebound we should see AVNX follow suit. Historically, the 1.70-1.75 level looks to be pretty solid support, and I think the last two candles hint at a reversal. AVNX has a history of sharp price rises followed by flag-like retraces - my feeling is that we just hit the base of this retrace. MACD doesn't look great but the RSI is looking like it wants to make a little bounce from these oversold levels.
I bought back in this morning at 1.81. For now I will keep a stop just below 1.70 and see what we get here.
OK, not a great close on the week for AVNX, but I still think this looks like a low risk opportunity as it pulls back to 1.70 support. Provided the markets as a whole don't pull everything down, I think we should see a rebound from these levels in the coming weeks. Maintaining my stop just below 1.70 and looking for a move to the top of this channel that comes in at 2.10.
Good gains to be made on AVNX PPS coming into second quarter. Radar.

Avanex to Demonstrate Breakthrough Thermal Management Technology in New Amplifier Platforms at OFC/NFOEC
Avanex Corporation (Nasdaq:AVNX), a pioneer of intelligent photonic solutions that enable next-generation optical networks, today announced that it will demonstrate optical amplifiers with its breakthrough Digital Control System (DCS) thermal management technology at the Optical Fiber Communications Conference and Exhibition (OFC/NFOEC) held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. between March 26–29.
Avanex's proprietary DCS significantly improves the overall efficiency of the entire amplification system. Depending on the amplifier output power, the control system reduces or eliminates the need for heat sinking and forced air-cooling in controlled amplifiers. Prior to the commercialization of this technology, pumps were operated with simple analog control systems, requiring more energy and generating increased heat dissipation.
The improvement in thermal dissipation allows customers to achieve higher system density and lower operating costs associated with thermal management and maintenance without a decrease in performance.
Avanex's new Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) platforms, the PureGain(TM) 1600, 1700 and 2800, utilize DCS technology and are the industry's first digitally controlled EDFAs available that use dynamic thermal management and patented digital pump control.
A live demonstration of Avanex's new PG1600, PG1700 and PG2800 amplifier product platforms using DCS thermal management technology will be on display in booth 2141 at OFC/NFOEC held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. between March 26-29.

Avanex Introduces Tunable Platform for In-Line Dispersion Compensation Management
Thursday March 22, 4:05 pm ET
FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Avanex Corporation (Nasdaq:AVNX - News) a pioneer of intelligent photonic solutions that enable next-generation optical networks, today introduced its in-line Tunable Dispersion Compensator (TDC) platform.
Source: Avanex Corporation
The PowerShaper(TM) 3200 platform is the industry's only broadband TDC solution compatible with both 10Gb/s and 40Gb/s transmission speeds. This product platform provides remotely tunable dispersion and 100 percent slope compensation for all C-band channels simultaneously with signal pass-band fidelity.
The emergence of reconfigurable networks and the migration to 10Gb/s and 40Gb/s transmission speeds requires signal fidelity to be maintained over a broad range of system configurations. Additionally, as bandwidth usage increases, remote network reconfiguration is increasingly critical and is needed to lower installation and maintenance costs. Tunable dispersion compensation management is critical to maintain signal fidelity and minimize transmission penalty.
The PowerShaper platform is a compact and simple to use module that can be seamlessly integrated into the mid-stage of an Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) or DWDM demultiplexer. This both enables flexibility required by next-generation networks and reduces the overall cost of dispersion compensation management throughout the network.
The intelligent digital control system employed in the Avanex TDC platform overcomes complex control, stability and fidelity challenges to achieve an unprecedented less than 5ps of peak to peak Group Delay Ripple. The module can be tuned remotely or by an integrated closed loop control system to optimize and maintain network performance without network operator intervention. The module can also be used in "set and forget" mode as a substitute for fixed dispersion compensators.
The PowerShaper is compact by design (100x130x15mm) and employs proprietary etalon technology to achieve dynamic dispersion compensation over +/- 800ps/nm (less than 6dB loss) or +/- 1200ps/nm (less than 8dB loss) with a dispersion pass-band of 40GHz, or up to +/- 1400ps/nm over a 35GHz dispersion pass-band at 100GHz channel spacing, and precise control of dispersion to less than 20ps/nm.
PowerShaper 3200 product platform will be presented at Avanex booth 2141 at the Optical Fiber Conference and Exhibition (OFC/NFOEC) held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. between March 26-29.

Avanex Extends Industry Leading Interleaver Platform
Avanex Corporation (NASDAQ:AVNX), a pioneer of intelligent photonic solutions that enable next-generation optical networks, today introduced its 25 GHz PowerMux interleaver product portfolio based on patented Gires-Tournois etalon technology.
Interleavers enable Wavelength Division Multiplexed (WDM) networks to cost-effectively double the number of channels and capacity within the same operational wavelength window. Currently, most interleaver-enabled WDM systems operate at 50 GHz channel spacing. Avanex's industry-leading interleaver platform now enables 25 GHz channel spacing, which effectively doubles the number of available channels in a given wavelength range. The 25 GHz PowerMux is a low-cost upgrade solution for high capacity next-generation ultra-dense WDM networks.
Avanex's Gires-Tournois etalon technology is uniquely suited for 25 GHz and finer channel spacing. The Avanex 25 GHz PowerMux interleaver offers low insertion loss, wide passband with very low Polarization Dependent Loss (PDL) and Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD). The device's wide passband and high channel isolation allow it to be used in applications that require multiple node cascading.
"We have continued to invest and innovate in this technology, and the 25 GHz interleaver is the latest of several recent advancements including asymmetric and bidirectional interleaving," said Dr. Sanjai Parthasarathi, senior director, product line management. "Our interleaving technology offers the best combination of wide-band and low loss. This product is gaining good market traction among next-generation network system designers."
