Neomagic has a search engine that will work with G3 phones to scan barcodes and retrieve info for the consumer.  Recently bought several key patents and will probably take off later this year as the new phones ramp up in volume.
Here is something Tobin Smith pumps in his micro section.
The local search wave is just starting. You think Google is
profitable? You think Yahoo and Microsoft are doing all they can
do dethrone them?

You ain't seen nothin' yet!

With Neomagic's patents in GSM search and word search, they are the
key enabler of this killer application:

*** PaperClick Mobile Go-Window links consumers to the mobile
Web via brand names and tag lines (registered in the PaperClick
WordRegistry) and entered in a horizontal text-entry bar on the
screen of a wireless device.

*** PaperClick for camera phones provides mobile Internet
connection by the handset camera clicking on a barcode -- either
already-in-the-market, one-dimensional UPC, EAN and ISBN codes or
two-dimensional codes created and placed on packaging,
literature, ads or posters, you name it.

*** And next is the GSM chip -- which (in order for it to work in
a mobile device) requires a license from (you guessed it!) Neomagic.

It's OK to take a few monster profits from Neomagic, but do not -- I
repeat, do not -- miss the rest of the ride ahead.

In my opinion, we are in the very first inning of the Neomagic story
-- and those who hold their 100,000 or 200,000 shares are going
to see them appreciate to become a small fortune -- if not a
large one.

NEOM have been following a long time, stock is being pumped by a widely read stock group and from what I have seen when they pump it (with news stories about the huge potential, it moves). I have played it a few times and bought again yesterday around the $0.50 area which looked to me to be a key support / resistance pivot area. Todays action has produced a nice railroad reversal candle pattern and the stock bounced of the lower bollinger band and touched the 9 ema nicely. I will be looking for follow through on Wednesday and hopefully move toward the previous highs, however it will have resistance to cope with around $0.59.
Daldrich mentions Neomagic, but NEOM is Neo Media Technologies, maybe just a typo from him?
NEOM is a buy for me.

Might be setting up to have a look at the 52 week high again, great support from the 9ema at $0.56. I will look for it to go over $0.698 soon if not it may be confirming a downtrend (lower highs).

NEOM finally got back to support at 30 cents yeaterday - the stock was below the lower Bollinger band and the 200-day EMA support was also there. The stock then rallied up 40% from that point on very heavy volume so suggests a buy if you can get a dip again.  Buying as close to support on sell offs with no news is often a low risk situation especially if the stock is oversold and below the lower Bollinger band.

An example of how NeoMedia's patented technology can be used is in reading a two-dimensional bar code on an ad, promotional brochure, or any other physical object. Then, using software and an image scanner -- and with or without linking to the Internet -- the user could easily and accurately import the linked information into an applications, such as Quicken , Microsoft Money, etc., or just directly onto their cell phone, PDA or personal computer.

New NeoMedia Patent Covers Mobile Marketing-Enabling Technology for the Capture and Processing of Bar Codes with Camera Cell Phones
Thursday February 2, 10:21 am ET

FT. MYERS, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 2, 2006--NeoMedia Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: NEOM - News), an innovator in wireless services and patented technologies that provide mobile marketing-enabling automatic links to Internet-based information, said today that it has been awarded a patent covering the capture and processing of bar codes explicitly from camera cell phones.

U.S. Patent No. 6,993,573 was issued to the company on January 31st, listing Kevin Hunter, NeoMedia's chief scientist, as the inventor.

The patent explicitly describes and patents NeoMedia's method of capturing the image of a bar code by the camera device on a Web-enabled cell phone, and processing the bar code so as to deliver the appropriate URL - or Web-based information - to the user's cell phone screen.

'A Mobile Marketing Necessity'

"This is NeoMedia's 27th patent and in many ways the most important patent since our first was issued in the late 1990s covering similar technology for codes scanned (or their numeric equivalents entered) into a PC," said Charles W. Fritz, the company's founder and chairman.

Mr. Fritz said that NeoMedia also has patents covering search, location-based ads, and "other enabling technology for a wide range of mobile marketing activities and applications.

"Our patented technology is a mobile marketing necessity," Mr. Fritz said.

"Today, mobile devices are omnipresent and the desire for information on-the-go is a worldwide phenomenon," he said. "Marketing-driven companies recognize the Mobile Internet as the 'in' way to reach hundreds of millions of cell phone-carrying consumers in the U.S. alone, and our technologies create a patented bridge they need to cross to showcase and receive orders for their products and services."

The PaperClick IP Portfolio Grows

The new patent is the latest in the growing PaperClick® IP portfolio (www.PaperClick.com), an array of mobile marketing-enabling technologies and applications developed or offered by NeoMedia.

"According to the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) and Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), there are 1.9 billion-plus phones in use worldwide - more than TVs and PCs combined," said Mr. Fritz, noting that these global industry groups project that by the end of 2008, more than 600 million phone users will have Internet access.

"This mobile information boom drove worldwide revenue to more than $3 billion in '04 according to CTIA and MMA, who project the total will be at least $9 billion for 2006," Mr. Fritz said.

"Now, with this latest patent explicitly covering use of our technology with camera cell phones, NeoMedia is well positioned to help facilitate this global boom in mobile marketing," he said.

NeoMedia Signs Merger Agreement to Acquire Mobile Visual Search Pioneer Mobot, Inc.

FORT MYERS, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 9, 2006-- NeoMedia Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: NEOM), an innovator in wireless services and patented technologies that provide automatic links to Mobile Internet-based information, announced today that it has signed a merger agreement with Mobot(R), Inc., of Lexington, Mass., a pioneer in mobile visual recognition technology. NeoMedia expects the transaction to close this month.

Charles T. Jensen, NeoMedia's president and CEO, said the acquisition and merger, which was announced in a non-binding Letter of Intent last August, is expected to be completed shortly for an aggregate of $10 million in cash and NeoMedia stock.

Mobot's visual search technology connects mobile consumers with international brands, including L'Oreal(R), Samsung(R) and Saturn(R), major media companies, including ELLEgirl(R), VIBE(R) and JANE(R) magazines and leading music labels, including WEA (Warner Music Group's U.S. sales and retail marketing company). Mobot campaigns require no changes to existing visual media and work seamlessly with all wireless carriers.

A Mobile Marketing Breakthrough

"We are leading the way to create and offer new opportunities to marketers, carriers and consumers through the use of mobile camera phones," said Russell Gocht, Mobot's CEO and founder.

"With our technology, for the first time, brands can use their existing visual properties, such as packages, billboards and print ads, to trigger powerful mobile interactivity."

Mobot's best-in-class solution requires no download and supports all camera phones in the market, using picture messaging on the handsets to connect with Mobot's visual recognition platform and deliver back SMS, MMS and WAP push interactivity. Now, as part of NeoMedia's (http://www.neom.com) patented portfolio of mobile marketing-enabling technology, Mobot can provide linkage directly to the Mobile Internet.

'A Mobile Marketing Supercompany'

"By acquiring Mobot and pairing its leading-edge applications and products with our patented technology platform, NeoMedia has brought together and pooled the collective talents of two mobile marketing industry leaders and innovators," said Mr. Jensen.

"NeoMedia's plan is to become a mobile marketing supercompany," Mr. Jensen said. "In the coming months and years, as cellular technology matures as the newest and most exciting advertising and marketing medium, NeoMedia plans to provide a range of solutions, including products and applications offered by Mobot, to stimulate the global growth and acceptance of mobile marketing."

Mobot will continue to be headquartered in the Boston suburb of Lexington, and its founder Russell Gocht will remain CEO, reporting to Martin Copus, NeoMedia's COO and chief executive of NeoMedia's PaperClick(R) (http://www.PaperClick.com) wireless business unit.

Camera Phones Empowering Marketing

"Like NeoMedia's patented PaperClick technology, Mobot's technology utilizes camera phones to empower both businesses and consumers with genuinely innovative mobile connectivity," said Mr. Copus.

"Mobot's application is fast and easy for consumers to use - they simply snap a picture of an enabled ad or other visual, and picture-message it to Mobot for an immediate response," he said. "Media companies and brand marketers in the U.S., Europe and Asia/Pacific are already discovering just how powerful a consumer proposition this is, and we are very excited about adding Mobot's solution and talented team to the NeoMedia fold.

Today a  Long White Candlestick  was formed. This shows that the prices advanced significantly from open to close during the day under strong buying pressure.

The last two candlesticks formed a  Bullish Engulfing Pattern . This is a bullish reversal pattern that marks a potential change in trend. However, its reliability is not very high and it requires confirmation.

NeoMedia Sells Mobot and Retains Minority Stake
Thursday December 7, 8:30 am ET

FORT MYERS, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Moving to fulfill its planned consolidation of its mobile marketing strategy, NeoMedia Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: NEOM - News), today announced the sale of its Lexington, Massachusetts-based Mobot subsidiary to its founders, while retaining a minority ownership in the company.

NeoMedia President and CEO Charles T. Jensen said, "This step moves NeoMedia closer to fulfilling its goal of being able to target all corporate resources on the continued enhancement and ongoing marketing and launch of our patented qode suite of products in Europe, North America and China. As with the planned sale of our micro paint repair business unit, and the sale of a U.K. subsidiary last month, we have, as promised to our shareholders, continued to focus on qode while cutting back our burn rate and reversing substantial dilution."

Under the terms of the agreement, NeoMedia returned 82% of its ownership interest in Mobot, which was acquired in February of this year, while retaining 18% ownership in the company. In addition, all obligations under the original merger agreement, including the purchase price guarantee obligation, were terminated. Based on NeoMedia's current share price, this obligation would have been in excess of $5 million. At closing, NeoMedia contributed $67,000 in cash to Mobot, and also entered into a promissory note for an additional $200,000 payable to Mobot by December 31, 2006 or earlier on the completion of the sale of NeoMedia's Micro Paint Repair business.

NeoMedia received 16,931 "preference shares" in Mobot, which can be redeemed to reclaim the 16,931,493 original consideration shares issued by NeoMedia in its acquisition of Mobot. Each preference share can be redeemed for 1,000 shares of the NeoMedia common stock within 15 months of the closing of this transaction. After 15 months, the preference shares can be redeemed upon a liquidation event of Mobot for either 1,000 shares of NeoMedia common stock each, or for the then-current cash equivalent of the shares.

NeoMedia also received a limited exclusive license to access Mobot services for integration with barcode-related applications.

"As a nearly one-fifth owner -- and as a licensee of Mobot services as they relate to barcode applications -- NeoMedia believes in Mobot's technology and management team," Mr. Jensen said.

"Moving forward, NeoMedia will continue to concentrate on developing and marketing its expertise on next-generation mobile applications and opportunities, especially for our qode direct-to-mobile-web cell phone technology," Mr. Jensen said.

NeoMedia's patented qode (www.qode.com) suite is an easy-to-use set of applications -- qode®reader and qode®window -- which provide One Click to Content(TM) connectivity for products, print, packaging and other physical objects to link directly to specific desired content on the Mobile Internet. qode®reader works with camera phones, letting users "click" on two-dimensional "smart codes" to access the Mobile Web site to which the code is linked, while qode®window lets users reach the same destination by entering a key word, slogan, or product barcode number.

Nokia Navigation Phones Launched with Innovative Campaign from IQ mobile and NeoMedia
Monday April 20, 2009, 4:00 am EDT

NeoMedia Technologies Inc.
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NeoMedia Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: NEOM - News), the global leader in mobile barcode scanning solutions, was selected by IQ mobile, the leading mobile marketing company in Central Europe, to provide 2D barcoding services for their advertising campaigns. The first campaign launched using this technology was an interactive advertising campaign to promote Nokia's new Navigation phones in Austria, which recently concluded.

IQ mobile uses NeoMedia's patented technologies to provide their customers with mobile advertising campaigns that leverage 2D barcodes. The NeoReader application delivers a fast and accurate scanning experience to consumers and the NeoSphere code management platform provides IQ mobile with a simple but powerful tool to create, track and measure 2D barcode campaigns.

Nokia recently launched their new line of Navigation phones and IQ mobile wanted to provide an innovative campaign that would garner attention and highlight the navigation features of the new phones. Leveraging NeoMedia's mobile barcoding solutions, IQ mobile developed a multi-channel advertising campaign that enabled mobile consumers to scan a 2D code for a chance to win a Nokia 6210 Navigation phone.

This heavily promoted launch featured a 2D barcode in full-page print ads placed in the high profile Austrian men's lifestyle magazine "WIENER" as well as "Weekend," another popular lifestyle magazine. The campaign was further supported with banners, flyers and posters which were placed in bus stations and city lights across Austria. A digital component featured banner ads across 10 different mobile portals.

"IQ mobile was looking for an innovative solution that would help reinforce Nokia's 'pioneering' spirit as well as provide clear value and results. NeoMedia's 2D barcode solutions created intrigue for consumers, but more importantly, delivered real added-value to Nokia by "turning on" the printed mediums and delivering real-time results for each element of the campaign. The combination of a qualitative interactive consumer experience with a quantifiable and measurable response mechanism makes mobile barcodes a powerful tool for marketers," said Iain McCready, CEO of NeoMedia Technologies. "IQ mobile understands the power of 2D barcodes and works hard to ensure the experience is easy and intuitive for consumers in order to optimize results for their clients."

IQ mobile conducted in-depth response analysis to understand how each element of the Nokia campaign performed. The response rates were similar to that of SMS campaigns which was very compelling when comparing a new technology with a more mature, highly available technology. Additionally, the remarketing opportunity proved valuable due to the high rate of consumers who opted-in to receive more information. The additional costs required to include the 2D barcodes in the media campaign were minimal but the interactive dialogue with consumers delivered real value.

"The performance of the 2D code campaign has far exceeded both ours and Nokia's expectations. Due to the strong response rates and opt-in interest, Nokia will be incorporating more campaigns with 2D codes in Central Europe. We are currently running a campaign in Switzerland featuring 2D codes to promote the Nokia Music Device 5800 via the Mobilezone®, a major catalogue retailer," said Harald Winkelhofer, Founder & CEO of IQ mobile. "In general, the 2D code technology plays a very important role in all the mobile marketing concepts that we bring to our client base of international brands and agencies."

Alexander Oswald, Head of Marketing - Alps South East Europe for Nokia added, "We are very pleased with the results and being the first one to use this solution. As we are one of the leading mobility brands, using mobile advertising technologies is important as a new and exciting communication channel. And as well part of our brand DNA of connecting people through mobile solutions."

NEOM - Volume Alert...

Timming...
There is nothing as powerfull as an idea, a stock, or product whose time is right for acceptance, use, and distribution....And I believe NEOMEDIA's time for the new 3g smart cell phones time has come! It will probably take another 6 months to take hold, but once people find out about how easy it is to download the software that's free of charge into their phones that also converts their cameras into a bar code reader and " Wallaaa " A whole world of information and convenience to every phase of their life becomes reality, and thats no exudation !!!! Now my prediction. Within 12 to 24 months the stock price will be between $ 1.50 and $ 2.00...JMHO of course.
