Instant noodles for an instant world. That's how New Dragon Asia Corp. sees it. Formerly a grain and oil processing group, the company now makes and sells instant noodles (Long Feng and other brands) to the growing market of on-the-go, Chinese middle-class. Though New Dragon produces more than a billion packages of instant noodles each year, the product line accounts for less than half of sales; the rest comes from milling and selling wheat flour. The company also produces and markets soy-milk powder and dried seasonings. New Dragon is taking aim at its neighbors and has begun selling instant noodles to South Korea, where they are a staple food. New Dragon Asia Food Ltd. owns 78% of the company's stock.

Already had it bought a while back, and reccomended a look over in the BRVO area. I think NWD is a much better buy than BRVO. Proven company, BIG, solid. It's one of those buy and die stocks.

Good job, and nice work getting it posted. Applause!
The only thing I'd do differently is connect the highs to show the Symmetrical Triangle (see chart below). That helps you to measure the target off the pattern, which in this case, was made on this week's rally. That helps you to know where it's a good idea to take profits.
Since the target was made, NWD looks like it's in a A-B-C correction of the rally.
A = the first move down
B = a rally back toward the highs, which we're in now
C = another move lower, to "correct/consolidate" the recent rally
The first move down off the high of $1.15 was $0.23, to a low of $0.92. If we rally to the top of the bear flag on Monday, near $1.06, then break below the bottom of the flag, another $0.23 down for leg C of the correction would put us at $0.88.
$1.06 (if that's Monday's high) - $0.23 (Leg A down) = $0.88 for Leg C
If that scenario should play out, that would put us right back at the top of the Ascending Triangle for a re-test of the pattern breakout, and might be a nice entry, with a stop below the up trendline on your chart, roughly $0.81 or $0..82. Risk would be about 7% on the trade.
All conjecture on my part, but it does look like it's correcting the rally. Watch to see if it breaks below the bottom of the bear flag, which would suggest a re-test of the top of the Symmetrical Triangle.
Applause to Stocky for finding this one. The P/E sure looks good, and it sounds like nice growth potential for the company.
Sorry that you have to use the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the chart to see the right side of it.
Great Topic, and Excelent posts here ;)

Very educational! Applaud all!
To simpilfy for a guy like me, could it be safe to say if it returns to the .88 area then buy, with a stop around .82? What about a exit target?
Thanks again.

I like that $0.88-$0.90 area with the stop below Tirebldr's up trendline. It's a reasonable risk, but we might not get down there. But, after the analysis is said and done, it becomes all about setting up a good risk/reward ratio, naturally, with the reward being much better than the risk taken.
If we hit, say $0.88-$0.90 area, it's a decent risk to enter there, I think. I don't see a pattern to determine an upside/exit target, like the Symmetrical Triangle on my chart, but this chart looks good. We'll all have to share our insights along the way for upside potential.

I especially love that about 3SF, or I wouldn't post here. I've yet to see a put-down, or touting, or mindless cheerleading, or ego-maniac posts, like I've seen on just about every other board I've read. Congratulations to David and Ramsburg! I don't know how they've attracted such nice people talking T2T (Trader To Trader), but they have. I applaud them both.
Sorry about the scrolling problem :(
Perhaps you could help me understand how to deal with my problem at this point.
My investment bucks are in a Scottrade IRA, of which they will not allow <1$ trades. Once this stock falls below a buck, how could I safely find a good buypoint to still come out in the black?
Problem 2 is once I go to sell this cheaper stocks, it seems very difficult to sell them. Is this normal on the lesser price stocks? Like AOBO. I'd like to buy into it, but if it spikes up as it normally does, and I put in a sell and it sets there........Is there a way to be an overcomer?
TIA

I've never played a penny stock, but I'm pretty sure that they will allow you to buy it below $1.00. I think that they just charge you more. Their regular $7.00, plus some percentage of the principal amount of the trade, like maybe a quarter or a half a percent. Check with them, and they'll tell you. Their requirements might be diffierent on an IRA account due to some government regulation, so be sure to tell them that you are asking about an IRA account.
Quote Once this stock falls below a buck, how could I safely find a good buypoint to still come out in the black?
There's no way that I know of to safeguard against a loss. There is always risk of a loss. The best that we can do is try to limit our losses by using stop loss sell points. For example, if YOU think that NWD is a good buy at $0.88 - $0.90 (and, please do your own due diligence), limit your loss to something like a close below the up trendline on your chart (it rises daily) if you think that makes sense technically, and if YOU are comfortable risking a loss of 7-8% And, STICK TO IT ;) Don't let the stock fall to $0.70....$0.60... :(
Honor thy stop! :)
QuoteProblem 2 is once I go to sell this cheaper stocks, it seems very difficult to sell them. Is this normal on the lesser price stocks? Like AOBO. I'd like to buy into it, but if it spikes up as it normally does, and I put in a sell and it sets there........Is there a way to be an overcomer?
Yes, that is a problem, which is why I don't trade pennies, or illiquid stocks. It's generally easier to get an execution and an execution that is reasonable (one in which they don't drop the price on you, if you put in a market order to sell) when there's alot of trading volume, like in GLGS recently. There was a lot of volume in that one, and I would assume that it was pretty easy to get in and out of it. You might ask someone in the GLGS folder.
On your Scottrade Streaming Quote Screen, right click on any of your stock symbols, and you'll see Time & Sales. Click on that, and you can watch the actual sales come through. That will help you to determine how much volume there is in the stock and how liquid it is. Are the prices that are coming through pretty stable, or are they erratic, jumping all over the place?
All Or None orders take longer to fill, if that's what you mean by "it just sits there," especially if you're trying to sell, say, 2000 shares of a stock that is trading only 100 shares at a time on the Time & Sales sheet.
It can be very frustating, and you know that if the stock is trading at, say, $0.82 BID...$0.83 ASK, if you change your All Or None order to a market order, they're going to fill your order at $0.80, then bump the bid and ask right back to where it was!
Somebody just pocketed your $40 (2,000 X $0.02), the devils >:D They call that "slippage," which I view as a euphemism for "theft," but it happens all the time. I view it as a cost of doing business.
If you have to buy too many shares of a stock that isn't very liquid to make it worth your while to play it, I'd suggest passing on that one, and finding something that's easier to get in and out of.
Watch the Time & Sales on NWD on Tuesday, too, and see what you think. I don't know how many shares you're planning to buy (and, that's your private business), but the 30-day average volume is only 88,000 shares. That's very illiquid if you're planning on buying anything much more than 100 or a few hundred shares.
Good luck in all of your trades!

huge move today. Nice pick.
Noodles must be popular :o NWD is starting to get some attention and volume. 2 huge candles in the space of a few sessions and increasing volume relative to historical tell the story. Interesting to see how the day finishes and also if any continuation Friday. Disclosure: I have some, reason being it was breaking out its all time high on volume.
another powerful move today! stocky(applaud) for bringing this one up.
this brings a tear to my eye as i'm not in..... this was however my first stock i watched when i started watching few years ago. how can you go wrong with nooldes in china i thought. Looks like after a long period of accumulation it's ready to start an uptrend! i know they scored a deal with KFC china in the past. Pretty solid pick. nice alert!
Is that a G Pattern I see before me, out damn spot out I say.......(apologies to Shakespeare)
NWD been very strong past few sessions, sitting just under $2 which is acting as a tough ceiling, if it gets through could get a nice pop up.
on this chart is there any way you could have seen the "pattern G" before it occurred. it seems like on this chart at least you would not be able to recognize "pattern G" until after it happenned which would be too late.
what i mean is... it shot up 50% in one day.
you couldn't tell it was "Pattern G" the day before and once it goes up its too late. right?
-rocket8
No not really, when it broke out per the chart it didn't gap up it went up through the day hence the lovely white candle (i.e. it opened lower than it closed). Now the breakout line on the chart was drawn at $1.29 (most recent high), so you could have a limit buy set at or around that breakout point so that if the stock moves upward your buy will activate there.
if u are watching 20 stocks (or more) is it feasible to set limit buy orders on each in hopes of a pattern G developing?
i have a question for you aussietrader -- just a general one -- how many stocks do u watch or follow? i am trying to develop some methodology for finding, monitoring, and watching stocks. its such a maddening process. i feel like i am always running all around the net trying to find the hot one going to 10 webpages or more per stock and somebody is always recommending a new one (and and old one).

You can set alarms (depending on what software you have) that will alert you when a stock is approaching your buy point. Then you can check the validity of the move (vol /news / etc) and then make a buy decision.
At the close of a trading day I'll scan for stocks that meet the type of criteria I am interested in, I'll probably chose a handful of candidates from that daily scan, I'll check the 3SOF alerts and chat and add candidates from there. Then I'll set alarms and trading plans for these candidates for the next days trading. Also during the day I have a screener which realtime shows me the volume momentum stocks so that I can jump on a momo play intraday if I like the action.
Then I'll have open plays with various alarms and stops on them that also I look at and work on.
I could go on for ages but you'd get bored ;)
BTW do you have a trading strategy / plan written down? If not you should do, it would focus your activities and help your efficiency. From what you say you are too busy trying to find something to buy (from too many 'sources' without having a process in place to do that effectively.
Well hope that helps some.

Well, closed above $2 and great volume on a tough market day (sign of a strong stock), technically $2 should now be a pysch support point, but it will need to get some action today above it to consolidate that support. Historically this stock has traded above $3 (2001) There is no volume related resistance now between $2 and $3+.
Aussie, what screener are you using real time to show momo plays? OOPs maybe that is rocket??

I have it working with quotetracker (it feeds into customizable windows iin my trading platform) but you can also use their screeners / filters via their website as well.

ON FIRE, BROKE $3 !!!!!! WOW !
Sold 2/3rds of my holding at $2.99. It hit my $3 target somewhat quicker than I had expected :D
:D I bought this am @ $2.28 hoping for an exhaustion gap to warn me to get out. Wow just ran up to $3.14 while I was trying to figure out how to display a stockcharts weekly chart!! ;D
At last green ;D
Stopped out at 20.83% 2 days
nothing shabby about that I bought the other recs and they are limping
Pernaps someone could advise, now, on a good place to buy back in? And I'll say TIA!!
I think $2.30 would be a good place to get back in. It was resistance on the intraday chart this am for a little while before it broke out of the 1/2 hour opening range.
Back in @ $2.30. Thanks for the suggestion and the reason behind it. Learnt from you, and appreciate your help PerfectSage. Good luck to us all.
God Bless
Thanks Tirebldr. I sold this am @ $2.93 when I started seeing big blocks of shares at 2.95. Thinking this is the high of the 1/2 hour opening range. The upper bollinger band is $2.43 and the low of the day is $2.51, so today the candlestick is totally above it and I always sell on a day like this.
ie it's getting too overbought. My advice is to sell today. I'm looking to get into to CTTY today.
Taking your advice.
Here is what took place with me this morning:
Sold @ 2.90 26.9%
Bought @ $2.60
Sold @ $2.82 8.46%
I had a buy back in for 2.60, but after looking at your chart I tend to agree with you PerfectSage . Thanks for the advice/help. So where do you suggest might be a good buy-backin time?
Congrats ;D $1.90 was resistance last week Thursday.

Looks like we may have a Breakout. Need to check back in, re-evaluate daily. Something is going on. ;D
Falling Wedge (Reversal) Pattern
The falling wedge is a bullish pattern that begins wide at the top and contracts as prices move lower. This price action forms a cone that slopes down as the reaction highs and reaction lows converge. In contrast to symmetrical triangles, which have no definitive slope and no bias, falling wedges definitely slope down and have a bullish bias. However, this bullish bias cannot be realized until a resistance breakout.
The falling wedge can also fit into the continuation category. As a continuation pattern, the falling wedge will still slope down, but the slope will be against the prevailing uptrend. As a reversal pattern, the falling wedge slopes down and with the prevailing trend. Regardless of the type (reversal or continuation), falling wedges are regarded as bullish patterns.
As with rising wedges, the falling wedge can be one of the most difficult chart patterns to accurately recognize and trade. When lower highs and lower lows form, as in a falling wedge, a security remains in a downtrend. The falling wedge is designed to spot a decrease in downside momentum and alert technicians to a potential trend reversal. Even though selling pressure may be diminishing, demand does not win out until resistance is broken. As with most patterns, it is important to wait for a breakout and combine other aspects of technical analysis to confirm signals.

Thank You setravis
Good info , does the RSI worry you at all? Will watch tommorrow to see if it hits the resistance you mention at 2.60, so far the 2 day gainer has been nice and steady w/o significant dips. Any sign that you are watching for to predict a breakdown of this run back to $2.00 or less.. the support in the 1.90 range has been great for a few months, i rode the first rise and have been out since.

OUCHHHH. New Dragon Asia Corp. Corrects Weighted Average Shares
Thanks and applaud setravis. I have almost forgotten this stock but like most undervalued chinese stocks this one is getting alive. I am not sure I will get back into it but goodluck to all those holding.
SETRAVIS you still watching this one... wow some resistance at the 2.60 mark as you predicted.... was that one minute crash a TA call or on the news of the shares correction? (significant?) It blew right through my stop limit so i am a holder here because i do like the company and got in early. TA still looks like it is on the bullish side because it did not go back to 1.90... thoughts... will it go down there and why? Learing all i can about TA
cheers joe
Watch out for the bearish engulfing pattern today... of course will need confirmation but could signal start of a bearish trend. Two bullish signals and two bearish signals in four days. I'm sure y'all will appreciate my very in depth text on the chart ;D. Just keep a close eye on it joe cause there could be some interesting movement :D!

Looks like NWD is making its way back up after some sideways consolidation in the $1.50 - $1.60 range. Today it broke out away from the base and moved above the 50MA.
Looks good. In at 1.55
NWD is on my close watch, is this a bump on the new aquisition news? Or will we see a run up into earnings like November?
Hoping to empty this bag with my averaged down shares. Cheers Joe
Got in last week at 1.58.
I expect a next run when we'll see Q4 numbers. (8/9 feb)
NWD was and still is on fire :)
(currently 2.10)
IMO. NWD will likely follow it's 9-day moving avg for a while. A cup and handle may form soon, we'll see. Very bullish.
Breaking through 2.25. ;D
Taking 50% off the table at this level. Volume still looks strong.
Nice - made it through first target - looks a bit extended but second target is only 40 cents away...
