AeroCentury 4Q Net Rises Sharply; Shares Up 8.6% >ACY

AeroCentury Corp.'s (ACY) fourth-quarter earnings grew more than ninefold as declining expenses offset a drop in revenue.
The Burlingame, Calif., aircraft operating lessor and finance company said Tuesday the net income for the quarter climbed to $544,420, or 35 cents a share, from $55,090, or 4 cents a share, a year earlier.
Total revenue declined 23% to $4.06 million from $5.25 million in the year-earlier quarter. Operating lease revenue rose 28% to $4.05 million from $3.17 million.
Expenses fell 34% to $3.37 million from $5.09 million.
The company had no provision for impairment in the fourth quarter.
American Stock Exchange-listed AeroCentury shares recently changed hands up 85 cents, or 8.6%, at $10.77.
