Stock Picking / Re: My pick: GIGM
August 24, 2007, 07:39:16 PM
I issued a buy alert earlier this week on GIGM saying we should try to buy some shares on a pullback near the 200ma or around 12.45 for a solid entry. As my "crystal ball" enlightens me of buy points, i used my jedi mind powers from the depths of mount doom to force price to dip to a low of 12.40 during todays session to give a chance to buy before a rally followed to end the day up 2.85% closing at 12.98 , i filled a position as stated 12.45 ;) From a technical analysis standpoint this chart pattern is looking great as the 3 month down trend has been broken sparked by a bullish earnings call and now as of todays close price broke out of a bullish pennant continuation pattern suggesting further trending in favor of the bulls.

Fundamentally as of todays closing price GIGM is looking very attractive and undervalued. Currently GIGM is trading at just 24x earnings while the industry is set at 33x earnings, along with a low forwards PE of just 15.09x GIGM has much room to run into the future to catch up with its growth in revenues and income. GIGM expects to report EPS of .86 for 2008 giving them a fair value price for 08′ of [.86eps X 33x industry average PE = 28.91 aka 122% gain from todays close] making GIGM look dirt cheap at these prices. I'm issuing a "STRONG BUY" with a short term price target of $15-$16/share.

CHCG had some rough behavior after its EC and 07' guidance were released on may 14th and 16th respectively. I still like the companies huge growth potential here and it looks like its a great time to pick up some cheaper shares as price made a great looking hammer candle at double support(horizontal and ascending) within the ascending channel. Fundamentals here still look great and so does future outlook with a very attractive low forward P/E of 7.36, clean balance sheet, strong growth moving forward, and is expected to be listed on a major exchange towards the end of this year.  I'm still a believer here and this chart looks like its ready for another go, lets keep our stops tight though near this support level ;)

Buying CHCG tomorrow.

Net income for the quarter was $6.5 million, or $0.12 per basic and diluted share, up 607% from $913,548 or $0.02 earnings per share for the same quarter last year.

The company realized $13.9 million in gross profit for the quarter, up 621% from $1.9 million in gross profit for the same quarter last year. The increase in revenue and net income was due to increased sales and the assimilation of the acquisitions made during fiscal year 2006.

The company generated $2.6 million in cash from operating activities during the quarter and had $9.1 million in cash at the end of the first quarter.

China 3C Group's Chief Executive Officer, Zhenggang Wang, said, "We are pleased to report another robust quarter with strong sequential and year over year growth. Our revenues experienced a sharp increase, buoyed by a rise in sales and our acquisitions last year. On a sequential basis, revenues increased 33% to $84.5 million from $63.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2006. First quarter 2007 net income also increased 33% on a sequential basis to $6.5 million, or $0.12 earnings per share from $4.9 million, or $0.09 earnings per share in the fourth quarter of 2006.

"Cost of sales as a percentage of revenues decreased to 83% in this first quarter of 2007 from 85% during the first quarter of 2006. Gross profit margin was up over 2% this quarter to 16.5% compared to 14.4% in the comparable quarter last year. Looking ahead, we expect continued growth for our company as we further expand our product offerings, such as with our recently announced agreements with Galanz Group, one of the largest electronics manufacturer in the world, and Huipu Electronic Co., Ltd. (HPC), a leading manufacturer of LCD and plasma TV sets, LCD and CRT computer monitors."

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

China 3C Group sells and distributes consumer and business products including cell phones, notebook and laptop computers, fax machines, cameras, camcorders, MP3 players and other electronic products through retail outlets in Eastern China. The company's business model, similar to that of Best Buy in the United States, is bolstered by an increasingly prosperous population with a voracious appetite for consumer electronics.

Just gonna copy and Paste some research done by other analysts: :)

Founded as an electronics distributor, China 3C has rapidly transformed itself into a major retailer and now owns and operates over 800 of its own retail outlets as well as maintaining its role as a major supplier to other top consumer electronics chains such as Guo Mei Appliance and Su Ning Appliance. Serving over 800 retail outlets, China 3C has a rapidly growing presence in the consumer electronics market- in Eastern China and has ambitious plans to expand to other parts of the country, particularly Beijing and Guangzhou.

Over the past four years, China 3C has built market share while establishing a reputation among its customers for superior customer service and product prices. Products distributed include those manufactured by Samsung, Motorola, Apple, NEC, Nokia, Ericsson, Brother, Philips, Panasonic, Feng Da, CJT, DaXian and KeJian. China 3C has "Outstanding Dealer" status with Panasonic, Samsung and Brother, and is a major partner of Philips, CJT and Feng Da for fax machine distribution. The company's distribution centers work 24/7 and are able to fill requests for products from inventory within 24 hours.

11/06/06
CHCG reports third quarter revenue of $42.6 mil., net income of $3.2 mil. or $0.07 per share. Company exceeds previously announced guidance.

THE OUTLOOK

China 3C says that it plans to sell products through its corporate website www.china3cgroup.com. This will initially include cell phones, fax machines, personal computer and digital products. Web-based sales are expected to add to revenue and further enhance profitability as the company will be able to reach consumers throughout China beyond its retail markets. The company expects revenues from website sales will account for 20% of its total revenue in 2007.

China 3C introduced new products in the second half of 2006, which it expects will contribute $87 million to its revenues in 2007 and $700 million in 2010 as the company expands its retail footprint in China.

China 3C plans to expand significantly within its core markets, increasing the number of its stores to 2,000 by 2008, and 4,000 by 2010.
...

I really like this CHCG's current financials and future outlook for the company. Looks like there shooting to be the Circuit City or Best Buy of China. The grow in revenue and income from 05 to 06 was huge as well is suspected to nearly double in 2007. The current P/E ratio for CHCG is at 30x earnings compared to the industries 25x though forward P/E is only at 8x so i think considering CHCG's growth rates and that there expanding from todays 800 stores to 4000 by 2010 this could be a $20 stock in the future. Of course many are expecting a large correction in the chinese market so we should be weary of this play and be disciplined with our stop losses. CHCG is looking healthy with a current ratio 2.16 compared to the industries 1.5 and carries no long term debt. All in all i think this is a great stock to own, so lets own it ;)

Penny Stock Picking / BWLRF.OB - Undervalued?
April 11, 2007, 03:00:04 PM
About BWLRF:

Breakwater Resources Ltd. (Breakwater), incorporated in 1979, is a base metals mining company that produces zinc, lead, copper and gold concentrates.

Primarily it looks like they mine ZINC though produced silver, copper, and gold as well throughout the year. All the resources i used placed them under the gold & silver industry though i compared them to the metal mining industry as well.

BWLRF growth in eps in 2006 has been quite amazing. In the years 04 and 05 bwlrf managed to squeeze out some profitability reporting .01 and .04 for 04' and 05'. In Feb they reported their full year 2006 results with .37eps which was a 825% increase in income from 2005 to 2006. BWLRF is managing to sustain this sudden rise income and are expected to grow to an annual .50 eps for 2007 and .60 eps for 2008 with increased revenues. It appears that things are leveling off into 2008 estimates but i think BWLRF looks way undervalued here especially when we compare it to the industry averages and to a similar company RNO. Comparison of the Industry averages are on the chart below.

2006 highlights:
HIGHLIGHTS
• The Company realized net earnings of $156.5 million or $0.41 per share in 2006 compared with $14.0 million or $0.04 per share in 2005, a $142.5 million increase
• The contribution from mining activities was $168.5 million in 2006 compared with $29.6 million in 2005
• Net cash provided by operating activities increased by $139.8 million to $158.5 million in 2006 and was primarily used for $75.7 million of capital expenditures and $16.6 million of debt repayment
• At December 31, 2006, cash and cash equivalents were $81.4 million and total debt was $2.7 million
• Gross sales revenue increased by 44.5% to $452.2 million in 2006 from $313.0 million in 2005
• Development of the Langlois mine is on track to commence commercial production by mid-2007
• Mineral reserves at Langlois increased by 10% and mineral resources increased by 14% through the addition of the Grevet B deposit
• Exploration success at Langlois prompted the Company to stake an additional 4,000 hectares surrounding the Company's land package
• Development of El Toqui's Concordia deposit is on track and production is anticipated by mid-2007
• On the Coulon joint venture with Virginia Mines Inc., exploration carried out during 2006 led to the discovery of two new significant polymetallic lenses, bringing the total known lenses to five, and confirmed the vertical continuity of lens 9-25 to a depth of 365 metres

Explaining the comparison to RNO, which is primarily a gold stock, but there both mining companies and very similar in fundamentals. There both around the same size company with BWLRF= 746m cap and RNO=731.2m cap though BWLRF seems way undervalued compared to RNO. BWLRF is only trading at 4.86x earnings while RNO is trading more than double BWLRF's P/E at 10.19x. The gold and silver industry average is trading at 26.6x so we could say they both look undervalued from a P/E perspective. P/S ratio for BWLRF is currently trading at 2.3x while RNO is trading at 3.18x making BWLRF more attractive from this perspective as well. Essentially RNO is trading at prices more than double that of BWLRF's share price when the companies fundamentals and future earnings estimates are almost identical making BWLRF look a lot cheaper given the financial information and a lot better value buy, as well as a much better chart for entry at the moment :)

Though the thing that discourages me from BWLRF is that they have more than double the outstanding shares of RNO. Current Outstanding shares are 385m and fully diluted including warrents expiring in 2009 there are 459m outstanding shares which doesn't appeal to me at all. So if BWLRF doubled from here to trade at 4 to catch up to RNO's P/E ratio then is BWLRF really worth $1.5b? more than double that of RNO's value? I guess that is a possibility with revenues and income nearly double that of RNO's

I don't like the O/S shares situation with BWLRF but the chart is extremely bullish and fundamentals look good so i think its worth speculating on with a smaller position as resource stocks have been bullish lately.

This months analysts recommendations: 5 issued a buy, 2 issued strong buy for BWLRF

Buying 1/3 position in BWLRF.OB for todays session.
strategic pull-back entry could be near yesterdays midpoint candle, or a retest near support around 1.8

Man ive been looking over this same damn stock for the last 5 hours debating with it and my instincts. This sucker better make me some money :) be cautious with your decision to enter a position here and do some of your own DD, i usually don't debate my positions with my instincts and the information given for 5 hours before i make a decision to buy................... which is why im only betting 1/3 position here, as well as  why i didn't have time to update any of the other stocks for todays session............ Sorry  :P

Penny Stock Picking / Re: OPBL.OB - Its optionable!
April 11, 2007, 05:41:16 AM
Optionable Inc is a small cap power play that with some very impressive growth and potential for a major role in the financial services industry. Optionable Inc is a provider of natural gas and other energy derivatives trading and brokerage services traded on the OTCBB exchange under the symbol OPBL.OB. We may look at OPBL and think it looks overvalued being that its trading at 59x's earning compared to the industries avg at 21.8. But considering its earnings growth rates there's a reason for OPBL's high earnings multiple. Currently OPBL's annual eps growth rate is at 392% compared to the industry average of 81% and the Qtr vs year ago qtr rate of 862% compared to the industries 110% which gives OPBL the right to trade at a higher multiple than that of its competitors. With future growth and release of the next couple earnings reports OPBL's high multiples will catch up with its valuation. OPBL also has a very attractive gross margin of 52% compared to the industries 22%.

Looking at OPBL's ratios compared to it competitors we can see that OPBL is an upcoming player with the potential to stake a major claim in the financial industry. Not only by looking at OPBL's growth story, but more importantly the New York Mercantile exchange has recently purchased a 19% stake in OPBL.OB. The New York Mercantile exchange is world's largest physical commodity exchange trading on the NYSE under the symbol : NMX. Having such a large player take a significant position in a small cap company like OPBL places a lot of bullish power in Optionable. For one, NMX sees a lot of potential in OPBL's business model and made a recent significant investment meaning they expect a lot of growth for OPBL in the future. We could also speculate that NMX may even eventually completely buy out Optionable in the future as its role on the NMX trading floor expands which would result in a large rally for Optionables share price. It is also likely that we will see OPBL making the move to a major exchange soon as its growth expands as well as considering it is now partially owned by an $11.74 billion company, that being the New York Mercantile Exhange.

Optionable also has some speculative PR's in the recent weeks highlighted below:

-Optionable Announces Acquisition of HQ Trading
Monday March 26, 9:39 am ET
CEO Comments
"Optionable CEO Kevin Cassidy said, "The HQ Trading team is extremely well- respected in the industry and this acquisition extends our client base as well as providing us a critical mass entry in the crude oil options market."
Peter Holmquist, owner of HQ Trading said, "We are excited to join forces with the Optionable organization and grow the crude oil brokerage segment of the business. Optionable leads other energy brokerage firms with its bold agility in delivering services, either through OPEX, the NYMEX floor, or voice-brokerage. Additionally, OPEX will propel Optionable as the market leader in technology-based commodity derivatives trading."

Optionable Announces Growth Initiatives
Thursday March 15, 4:05 pm ET
CEO Comments: Purchase's 2 membership seats on the NYMEX trading floor.

"The purchase of these trading rights is part of an overall strategy to expand our NYMEX floor operations as well as expand our product line both on the exchange and OTC," Cassidy said. "We believe this is a wise decision at this point because the cost savings over leasing the trading right will be substantial. Also, and very importantly, we will no longer be subject to increasing lease rate changes."
The Company also said that it has signed participation agreements with 30 new users for its OPEX® trading platform since the beginning of the year, all with blue-chip clients, and that requests for the use of the software are increasing. OTC-cleared trades that are executed are cleared through the award-winning NYMEX Clearport®."

OPBL's financial condition is also looking very attractive with total assets growing nearly 4x's over the last 4 reported quarters compared to total liabilities only doubling setting OPBL's current ratio at an attractive 3.4 compared to the industry average of 2.3. Generally when a companies assets are double that of their liabilities, in other words, there current ratio is 2.0 +, then company is considered to have short term financial strength and the ability to meet its short term obligations. On top of their short term financial strength OPBL carries no long term debt so fundamentally OPBL is looking very healthy and set for future growth in eps/share price.

Technical Analysis:

OPBL has made an astonishing run up as high as 1200% in a little over 6.5 months so this is a very momentous trend. Recently after price hit its all time high of 9.10 in late Feb. OPBL has retraced in a short term down trend to retest support near $5/share which is when I began looking for a position. Though judging by the chart and me being a technical analyst at heart, it appeared Optionable was in the works of a bearish head and shoulders pattern with a chart confirmation on a breakdown of $5/share, so I held off for entry until I received further confirmation of a bullish reversal.

After riding support for around a week on the 50ema and right shoulder of the bearish H&S pattern. On 4/05/07 we had a very bullish white marubozu candle stick breaking out of the descending bearish channel as well busting through short term horizontal resistance at 6.88. The breakout from this descending channel as well as breaching the highs of the right shoulder of the bearish head & shoulders pattern indicates a failure of the H & S pattern and a confirmation of a continuation of a bullish reversal. Today's candle stick is a bearish shooting star so it is expected that there could be some short term consolidation before any continuation of the bullish trend continues.

For profit targets, $9/share will be an attractive area as it will be a struggle to breakout as 9.10 is OPBL's all history high so I imagine there will be a battle near $9 with short term traders taking profits on the swing near this heavy resistance area. Though considering OPBL's growth prospects and NYMEX's stake in the company, prices above $9.10 in the near future are certainly not out of the question. Disclosure: I have a position in OPBL.OB at 6.85

couldn't have called it better O  ;D Applauds! You in OPBL.OB?. I've been watching for a position in OPBL the last several weeks though was hesitant to enter as the chart appeared to be forming a bearish head & shoulders chart pattern. Though todays breakout looks to me like that h&s aint gonna happen. Buying at the midpoint of todays candle might prove to be profitable.

Penny Stock Picking / Re: NTRZ.OB
April 03, 2007, 11:36:50 AM
NTRZ reported yet again a record quarter and full year results this morning resulting in a short term breakout on the bullish chart. This was NTRZ's first year of profitability reporting and eps of .02 compared to the expected .01 for fy 06 making a grounbreaking step into NTRZ's future growth and profitability. NTRZ had a reported 17m on the year or 225% increase from 2005. NTRZ is suspected to have a huge increase in earning for fy 2007 with eps of .10 compared to this years .02 and fy revenues of 43m compared to the 06 17m. So we still have a large amount of growth to consider for NTRZ into 2007 and years to come. NTRZ unfortunately has been subject to some dilution most notably the recent $50m common stock private placement of 20m shares. Though i think the dilution is over for NTRZ and they're in a great position for there future plans of global expansion as there balance sheet is looking healthy with $60m in cash and no-debt as well no insiders have been selling any of there shares from the recent purchases back when we first bought NTRZ near 1.50.

Comments from CEO about the results and future plans for expansion:

QuoteMr. Brad Edson, President and CEO of NutraCea commented, "We are pleased to report our fourth consecutive record quarter and a record year, notably our first full year of profitability. This significant turnaround within just the last 15 months is a major achievement for the Company.

"During the fourth quarter we accomplished many significant milestones, including the expansion of our production capacity in our Dillon, Montana facility, the signing of several new distribution agreements for our products, and the achievement of recognizing the second consecutive quarter of licensing revenue from our patented formulations. We believe there will be additional plant expansions, strategic agreements and licensing opportunities during 2007 and beyond. In the ensuing quarters, based on initiatives already underway, we continue to anticipate sustainable positive financial results," continued Mr. Edson.

Mr. Edson concluded, "We are diligently focusing on opportunities to extend our production capability within the United States, and to further reach into other parts of the world to duplicate our U.S. success elsewhere. Our bolstered balance sheet, now carrying more than $60 million in cash and no debt, will assist us in such expansion and positions us, perhaps for the first time in the Company's history, to be able to take advantage of more significant world wide opportunities that up until now have been unobtainable. We look forward to sharing these achievements with shareholders as they may arise."

I think the growth here and room for expansion with NTRZ makes it worthy of a spot in the speculation chamber again.

Bought ntrz at 3.16

Bought IEAM after La-Onda brought it to my attention. Looks good so far, Thanks bud:)

About IEAM

Industrial Enterprises of America, Inc., headquartered in New York, NY, is an automotive aftermarket supplier that specializes in the sale of anti-freeze, auto fluids, and other automotive additives and chemicals. The company has distinct proprietary brands that collectively serve the retail, professional, and discount automotive aftermarket channels.

Applauds to La - Onda for bringing this to my attention :)

This stock was brought up to us by ket earlier  when he made a good trade on a rebound, since then the stock has been in a steady ascending channel and now price is on the lower support line looking like its about to repeat history and head towards the top resistance again.

Whats very interesting is all of the insider buying. They're has been a vast amount of insider/institutional buying since the falling knife in december. Which definitely indicates that investors and insiders saw this as a huge buying opportunity.

Insiders and Pike Capital have purchased 1.87 million shares since december which is valued at $11.44m in conjunction with todays closing share price. On top of that IEAM announced at $10m share buy-back program in December as well, As of Feb 16th IEAM had rebought 950k shares and say the buy-back program runs til sept, so we still got some time for IEAM to drive price in our favor. Even as early as yesterday John Mazzuto bought another 100k shares at 6/share. Seems like they have some big plans for the future.

IEAM scored a record second quarter in revenues with 17m compared to Q1 of 10m and 5.6m same period last year. Partial increase of revenue came from the aquisition of pitt pen which offers motors oils and such and gave 5m addition revenues. costs decreased by 25%. EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) for the quarter was $2.8 million, or $0.20 per share. Income from operations was $2.3 million in the quarter versus $345,000 in the first quarter.

Though since IEAM exercised over 50% of there convertible notes and warrents there income was hammered with another 4m in non-cash expenses bring there income into the negative territory once again. The good news is that they got rid of half of there warrants this quarter and should process the rest of them soon. And with IEAM continued growth and revenue for q4 expected to double this quaters revs the profits will probably start showing even with the conversions, and even more so once there gone. which makes this stock a diamond in the rough because this convertible debt is hindering IEAM's spotlight to value investors.

Technically as i stated previously the chart is in an ascending channel near the lower boundary and according to history should rally up near the top of the channel near 7.50 which is also where descending resistance is coming in as well for a shorter term profit target. Longer term we could possibly see price's hit near the 8.50's + to new highs.

Buying IEAM in the moring.
