Stock Picking / Re: Thoughts on TXCC
May 27, 2005, 03:18:22 PM
I'd have to agree with everyone who believes this is a great stock!  I too would like to see price retrace somewhat for a better entry.  Having said that, I noticed in the latest news posted about the company that they had presented at the "Imperial Capital Special Situation Equity Conference" on 24 May 2005.  Whatever they said must have been well received because the stock has continued to climb in the last couple of days.  It just may be the extra boost needed to drive share price higher in the next several weeks.  I don't really know.

Thanks for your comments and advice!  I think I'll take a wait and see viewpoint for now.

Stock Picking / SMSI
May 27, 2005, 02:42:15 PM
I've been evaluating SMSI today, which seems to have jumped up on better than average volume.  I think this stock may have potential to go even higher over the next couple of days, ....say around $6.  Does anyone else see it this way?

Stock Picking / TGEN

This stock looks like something your resident genius might have found using your search engines.  The story is that it has been awarded some patents regarding genetic delivery systems.  Market seems to have liked the news because it went up today on heavy volume.

Any opinions as to it's potential for the next couple of days?

Stock Picking / Re: Diodes Inc

Thank you for your observations.

But tell me, since I don't own it, would you buy this stock on a pullback to some price level and if so then where?  What tactics would you deploy?  For example, where would you sell it for a profit if it went up, and conversely, where would you "cry in your beer" and just sell it for a small loss?

Stock Picking / DIOD

As I look at this stock, Diodes Inc. (DIOD), it looks like it's ready to sale higher on very high volume,.....or it could be a blow off exhaustion.  Which do you think it is?  All thoughts appreciated.  Thanks.

Thanks for your insight.

I realize that not every trade is a winner, but after nine years of doing this, can you give us an idea of your win/loss rate?  Nine years pretty much covers both up and down markets so I think the numbers would be representative going forward.  Also, have you an idea of what your average profit to loss ratio might be?  These numbers would help new speculators understand the risks better and what are the potential rewards, assuming one is capitalized well enough to withstand the inevitable drawdowns.

Thanks again.

I completely agree!

But is there a better way to place a stop loss order than just 5% of the entry price?  I would think that the chart should suggest a logical level of support or resistance, one that should provide the best exit point if wrong.

Also, if not proprietary, can you teach us what you are looking for when scanning the markets for short term strength or weakness?  What technical "filters" for market analysis are being exercised by your scans?  Is it trend analysis, momentum, sentiment or something else, or all of them?  And, what gives confidence that these methods will continue to work going forward?  Just trying to learn something with no disrespect intended.

And thanks for an excellent website.
