Stock Picking / Re: Check out VWPT
January 04, 2008, 12:24:31 AM
Gained 4% today.  10 and 50 MA both turned positive with MACD gaining in positive territory.
Now looking for bullish trend channel to do swing trading.  With RSI 14 at 80, looking to take 30%+ profit taking short-term unless there is further bullish buying pressure.

Setravis, could you change the Subject heading to VWPT/ENLV?  Thanks.  ;)

Setravis, maybe Vonage may finally be out of the woods?

Gained 15% today as patent disputes with Nortel Networks was settled today.  Both 10/50 MA are positive now on rising volume with MACD in positive territory.

I will be watching out for any profit taking activity, but looking to buy.

Setravis, so has ONT truely reached the bottom and rebounding?  I am not sure, but it is rebounding off the 52 week low.

I will be watching ...  ;)

Bought VWPT back at $0.99 after taking profit in June 2007 as 10 MA peaked and began to fall.

VWPT Nasdaq stock symbol is due to change to ENLV effective January 1, 2008 to reflect change in company name to Enliven Marketing Technologies Corporation.  There has been increasing daily trading volume with growing buying pressure.

Recent spiking gains may be reflective of positive outlook for this company as ONT is rebounding as well.

Stock Picking / Re: DESC
June 23, 2007, 12:29:35 PM
There's one notion I have learned about stock trading - "Buy on rumors and sell on news"

I have used 10/50 MA and RSI 14 in the past as my primary indicators for BUY/SELL, but found that they are too slow for swing trading.

If you have been following my post recently, you will have realized that I do the following:

1.  Find 52 week rebounding stocks with RSI/MACD/Volume confirmation
2.  Once rebound has been confirmed, use RSI 2 to set BUY/SELL points
3.  Channel "swing trading" is established to further confirm faster RSI 2 BUY/SELL points.
4.  SELL to lock in gains (take profit) at indicated SELL points
5.  Buy back (re-enter) at RSI 2 BUY points to increase number of shares
6.  SELL with 10 MA peak as confirmation
7.  Totally EXIT as 10 MA falls towards 50 MA (Watch as 10 MA falls below 50 MA) and look for re-entry point and start at step 1 again  ;)

As I have seen in the past and recently with AMD's one day large gain, any large gain by a channelling stock (say 15-20%+) will force many to lock in gains and SELL to take profit.  Imagine coming home from work on Friday to find that your stock experienced 20% gain?  You will be putting a SELL order for Monday market open (for many traders, 10-15% short-term gain is good enough to take profit).

So with that, does DESC has momentum?  Yes it does.

Is it an exceptional mementum?  Well, TMTA and QTWW moved 22 million and 14.7 million shares Friday as compared to 2.6 million shares for DESC.  I believe TMTA and QTWW volumes on Friday express exceptional and possibly Institutional buying.

Although 2.6 million in volume of DESC of Friday showed momentum, I believe it was fueled by news of DESC shipping wind turbines to Malaysia.

If you look at RSI 14 chart, this momentum on news may push RSI 14 above 70-90 short-term, resulting in further gains but I would recommend that you SELL to lock in profit.

If DESC falls and RSI 2 indicates BUY, then you can buy more shares.
If DESC does gain above RSI 2/14 70-90 range (rarely done), your loss would be minimal.

Time will tell.  IMHO.   ;)

Bought this morning at $1.62 and closed at $1.67, but went up to $1.74 after hours on healty volume of trading (3.6 million shares) with 7.4% total gain.

10 MA rising with MACD in positive territory with 14.7 million in volume!

With such a large drop at market open and rebound, RSI 2 should show rebound on Monday.
