Penny Stock Picking / Re: Bought GNBT right now
December 14, 2006, 09:16:57 AM
Up .35 - 20% in premarket on positive news.

7:17AM Generex Biotech says clinical trial results from cancer vaccine show that vaccine is safe, well-tolerated (GNBT) 1.75 : Co announces the results of clinical studies on a novel cancer vaccine being developed by its wholly owned immunotherapeutics subsidiary, Antigen Express, will be presented at the Annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium. Co says the trials have shown that the vaccine is safe, well-tolerated and produces a significant immune response in breast cancer patients. While the target of AE37 is the same as that of the marketed cancer drug Herceptin, co says the activity of AE37 relies on its ability to stimulate a patient's own immune system to recognize the cancer target rather than by interacting with the target directly. They say the advantage of this is that the immune system, once activated, is capable of detecting lower levels of the target protein than is Herceptin and that the anti-tumor activity lasts long after termination of AE37 treatment.

Syntax-Brillian Lifts 2nd-Quarter Sales Outlook, Thanks to Strong Holiday Sales

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- High-definition television set maker Syntax-Brillian Corp. said Monday it expects second-quarter revenue to come in ahead of a previous forecast, thanks to strong holiday sales over the Thanksgiving weekend.

The company now expects quarterly sales to come in at, or above, its previous guidance for $178 million to $190 million in revenue.

Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expect the company to post $185.7 million in second-quarter revenue.

Separately the company said it reached an agreement to raise $10 million in financing.

Under the terms of the deal, John Jung-Jyh Wu, president and chief executive of TCV Group, a supplier of plastic injection molded parts used in some of Syntax-Brillian's television sets, and John Huang, chairman of Premier Image Technology Corp., a contract manufacturer of some of Syntax-Brillian's digital cameras, will receive 1.3 million shares of common stock priced at $7.73, with three-year warrants to purchase 64,683 shares at an exercise price of $9.276 per share, exercisable beginning on June 1, 2007.

Shares of Syntax-Brillian were trading at $9 in the aftermarket session, up 44 cents, or 5.1 percent, from Monday's closing price of $8.56 on the Nasdaq.

Stock Picking / Re: AAPL of my eye
November 21, 2006, 03:27:12 PM
I would expect AAPL will certainly challenge that $100 mark by Christmas with strong product demand leading up to the holiday followed by the hype that MacWorld generates.  There's also the speculation of the iPhone.
