Hi guys, i think the large institutional sellers are about done selling the stocks since for the past 3days, the volume has been pretty consistent and price has been quite stable.

for intc:

since the above chart will change w/ each market day, i'm talking about feb 6, 7,8

so
                    Open    High     Low     Close    Volume
8-Feb-06    20.83    20.84    20.54    20.69    77,626,359
7-Feb-06    20.62    20.94    20.52    20.67    95,298,200
6-Feb-06    20.85    20.85    20.50    20.61    66,858,200

i dont want to pull up all the numbers but basically i think the market has finished factoring in the recent bad news, so basically the stock is no longer as volatile and dangerous as last week. however, the direction of the stock price now depends on any new company headlines or the condition of the whole market.

technically, there should be a pull back soon ;x

anyways gl and let me know what u think@!

hi all, objective of this thread is to determine whether INTC + YHOO is bottoming out and could perhaps yield a 10% ish return in a 1-3month period.

here're the 3month, vol+macd+rsi 10day&50day chart for INTC and YHOO

intc:

yhoo:

it's freaky how similar they look eh? both had a approx 15% drop in price recently. since growth investors create tops and value investors create bottoms. the drop in price comes with growth investors shedding shares. however i think the prices for both stocks should be approaching their bottoms now as value investors start picking up these 'relatively' cheap companies.

here is my take on the INTC situation. wall street has for a long time underestimated AMD. therefore, recently when it came to its realization, it drove AMD stocks soaring 60% in 5month's time. wall street thinks the line is in place for amd now, but i think its quite out of wack, amd is overvalued/overpriced. whereas for intel, things are not positive but certainly isn't as bad as what wall street thinks.

this is what i mean by overvalued/undervalued

INTC p/e is 11 indus avg p/e is 30. EPS Growth (ttm) is 21% -8.24%
AMD p/e is 115 indus avg p/e is 30. EPS Growth (ttm) is 51% indus avg is -8.24%

debt wise, both companies are approx indus avg. but i dont think this is very significant since it's not likely either is going to go bankrupt.

Intc's profit margins are better than AMD's

INTC net profit Margin (ttm) is 22.32% indus avg is 11.95%
gross profit Margin (ttm) is 59.37% indus avg is 47.20%

AMD net profit Margin (ttm) is 0.69% indus avg is 11.95%
gross profit Margin (ttm) is 40.90% indus avg is 47.20%

with that in mind, if you look at the technicals, and use technical analysis on the charts to pick an entry point, i think that entry point should be some where around now. RSI is approx 20 (which indicates oversold) MACD took a sudden dive. volume is slowly settling down and seems to be returning to normal.

nothing on the calender really since jan17/18 was when both companies released Qports.

*********

YHOO's case follows the same undervalued arguement so i'll just shorten it.

p/e is 27.47 indus avg is 51.76

eps growth (ttm) is a bit better than indus avg 121% to 88.29%
revenue growth is approx equal to indus avg 39.28% to 40.81 %
profit margins are good, Gross profit margin (ttm) is 61.35 to indus 46.03% net profit margin is 33.78 to 15.87%

conclusion:

intc and yhoo are pretty much unrelated companies but i talk about both together because i tink its a good buying opportunity for both right now because wall street overreacted to some  headlines. however, i'm just a novice myself so if i made any mistakes, or totally missed the mark in this write up, plz let me know!

hey all,

here are the 3month charts for Yhoo + Intc w/ macd, rsi, vol, 10day, 50day.

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ta?t=3m&l=on&z=m&q=l&p=m10%2Cm50&a=m26-12-9%2Cr14&c=&s=intc

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ta?s=YHOO&t=3m&l=on&z=m&q=l&p=m10,m50&a=m26-12-9,r14&c=

now imo, the chart indicates that both stocks are oversold. e.g. rsi = 20ish, huge sudden decline, look at the accompanying volume w/ the decline.

intc had suffered some bad news from headlines indicating slower growth and faster amd growth. however, i feel that amd's stock is way to overbought and intc oversold. lets not forget how big intc is relative to amd. amd can capture some desktop chips but the mobile/laptop chips still all belong to intc.

as for yhoo, its fundamentals arent really changed, it didn't post fantastic/great earnings but that is largely not its fault, more like the sector, look at goog.

in conclusion i think these 2 stocks are oversold. they at least  a couple percetanges more. but their charts are something i have never seen b4 or have any experience with. so any experts out their, plz give ur 2 cents and discuss whether now is a good buy point or if it might continue to fall.

Personal Logs / STocks in the RFID industry
November 23, 2005, 03:33:40 PM
I think the RFID industry (those little radio transmitters in consumer products like clothes, etc) as a whole has a lot of potential for growth and thereby solid returns on my $. The logic behind my thinking is that there is already popular demand for the product, the only missing piece of the puzzle is whether or not producers of RFID can cut down costs to as low as 5cents per tag so that everyone can afford it. therefore, the problem is that RFID technology is not yet at the stage where its cost are low enough. but as we all know, with electronics and related technologies, costs ALWAYS goes down given time because technology improves. So it is my opinion that the RFID sector makes for a solid long term bet

However, there are qutie a few companies and i was wondering if there are any experts on RFID stocks and could point me to some of the companies w/ the most potential.

forbes has a pretty nice write up here;  http://www.forbes.com/investmentnewsletters/2005/11/23/rfid-nano-wolfe-in_jw_1123soapbox_inl.html?partner=yahootix

let me know what you guys think! :) ;)

before i start let me just say i'm your typical beginner to all this stock trading biz so plz correct me if i'm wrong or gimmie pointers xD

ok here we go;

hey guys, i think ORCl deserves a look because i think in the next 2 weeks or so we might see a 10%+ growth. which i think is pretty damn good incentive to put a solid chunk of your portfolio into since orcl is a pretty solid company and the stock is pretty stagnant around 12-13$ so its  not gonna drop to zill any time soon.

here is the 3month chart for orcl, linear graph, 10day+50day moving average, macd, vol:

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ta?s=ORCL&t=3m&l=off&z=l&q=l&p=m50,m10&a=m26-12-9,v&c=

The good: 10day moving avg is approaching the 50day from below. last week the market has been pretty good, e.g. intc, amd, mrvl going up. this time we're nearer to the 52 week low rather thant he 52week high.

The bad: around end of sept05, the 10day avg approached the 50day avg but then the stock plumeted. street.com said to avoid this stock since its 'ghost of the past' but i'm only looking for 10% here, not expecting it to go thru the roof and hit 20$.

input appreciated!
