Applaud Mitch  You nailed this one
I was watching thurs Am and as it plateaued off after hitting 16.30's i put a short order in at 16.25 but it never topped 16.23 again... bummer for me :(
Any way what kind of settling are you looking for for an entry?  would the 13's again be too much to hope for?  Gigm does want to go up, will see if the Markets allow it to.  All of the Gaming stocks are cranking on last weeks Vegas Receipts!!  I shorted some WYNN  trying to catch a top...  will see
Cheers joe

Thanks Joet.

I was actually hoping for it to test the previous 14 resistance area, now support.  That would have been a real nice re-entry area in my mind.  But hmmm, it has since blasted through to new 7 year highs!  Closing at 16.76 today.  Meanwhile I'm still on the sidelines.  I'm waiting for a real confirmation that it will stay above 16, maybe needs to test low 16's for a few more sessions.  I really do want back in, I'm just waiting for better direction.  But man, GIGM sure has looked strong through the 16's yesterday and today.   :o      ;)

Note the 50 SMA just crossed the 200 SMA and the RSI is back up over 80.

Later!

Good job BigSully.  I'd call it a breakout.  Looks like you have the pulse on this one!

Applauds!

Here's the chart.

Stock Picking / Re: CFSG - Will it continue?

Ok, so maybe I dumped it a little too soon - wasn't patient enough.  I cringe when I see a stock I sold continue to go up.  But I'm also going to be away for all next week and not able to trade or watch the market so I was trying to find good exits for my positions.  I'm actually at 100% cash right now.  At least it wasn't a loss for me.   >:(

If anyone is in this, today's chart makes it look stronger IMHO.

kslifka -
Very nice.  This one has been on my watch list also and I wish I was in it with you now.  Looks like a very strong breakout with strong volume and closing above previous high on good news.

Unfortunately I'll be onvacation next week so won't be able to trade - so I'll sit this one out.   :(

I dumped CFSG today at 9.25 for a small 1.9% gain.  I felt the volume was too weak to continue and sustain a breakout above previous highs.    :-\

I took profit on GIGM today at 15.75.  5 weeks from 9.2 to 15.75.   ;D

I think GIGM is still worth more than 16 but I'm still a trader at heart not a long term investor.  So based on the excellent run/comeback from the 9's to near 16 in 5 weeks, and it nearing top resistance around 16, and with the RSI at 81, I'm betting it will bump its head on 16 for now.

I'd like to re-enter at some point so I'll keep a close watch.

This chart is a beauty!

Nice finish (Yesterday).  Closed above 9 on increasing volume.  And an all time closing high.  I think this one looks like a decent chance for continuing up based on the bullish momentum.   :o

Sold today into strength.  May have left some $ on the table but that's ok.  Made 44% in 4 weeks.   ;D

I'll watch for another good entry.  I think this one can still go up.

Looks like CFSG is trying to pull out of the consolidation phase for another move up.  I bought in at 9.08.  Hopefully volume will continue strong with a close above 9.0 at least.   :o

I could have got in at about 9 but Scottrade made me do a dang broker buy so that slowed me down a bit.   >:(

Breakout still rolling strong with great volume.  I would expect at least a temporary top soon so if it hits around 4 intraday early next week I may take profit - maybe half my shares.  I think this one has good future potential as the current PE is still only 19 and sales/earnings are growing fast.

Also look at the weekly chart, it also looks very bullish.   ;)

Stock Picking / CFSG
September 06, 2007, 11:12:45 PM
CFSG appears to be forming a 1 1/2 week bullish pennant after several sessions that brought it near it's all time high.  This one can definately move fast both ways.

They just posted guidance for full year 2007 stating earnings estimate of 0.53 to 0.54 cents.  This would bring the PE from 23 to about 16.  Just another profitable Chinese stock that's been on fire  ;D lately.

I'm going to watch this one.  If it begins to creep out of the pennant on good volume I may jump in.  A close around 9 on volume of say 200,000 to me would suggest another strong move up is in store and could lead to new all time highs.

Very nice indeed!   ;D  This is what was needed and gives a much better chance of maintaining a breakout above say 3.1.  High volume, with an intraday retracement to test the previous intraday high at 3.35, then moved back up.  Check out the 5 min chart to see this.

I wouldn't be surprised to see another solid day tomorrow but also could consolidate a little.  Only tomorrow knows.   ;)

Yes, fous has had this on his bull list several times as far back as April 12.  There is also a thread on **********.net on the penny board.

Volume is looking good today currently at 342,000 and up 0.19.  If it can hold the gains today, it will be a nice day and set new 52 week high.  Very bullish looking IMHO.

Decent day for GIGM.  I'll take 3%.  My only (slight) concern which I've pointed out in a previous post is the possible ascending wedge or "bear flag" which would indicate a future correction.  But, as fous pointed out over on TTT.net, maybe this 3 week pattern is just a rising channel.  I like that scenario better as it may be a little safer with luke warm volume like we've had.  I'd still like to see 1.3 million + volume on the ascent.   ???

Also looks like the 20 SMA is racing up to cross the 200 soon and the 50 is beginning to turn up and maybe within a week may cross above the 200.  That will certainly help to have some MA's to help technically.   ;)
