Previous 3SOF Picks / Re: Heavy Backlog: ARTX
April 19, 2006, 06:07:06 PM
Ok thanks. I realized this shortly after I posted this when I looked at the intraday chart. Now we have this tall white candle with more than 2 times average volume. This has an attempt of manipulation written all over it...

I will be smashing my head to the wall by picking the same stock as last time, AERTA  8).
AERTA manufactures and markets composite building materials that can be used as an alternative to traditional wood products for certain applications in the construction industry.

Fundamental reason:
Fundamentally nothing has changed from last time.
The company has been doing very well recently. 2004 their net income was 1.5 millions but so far for 2005 their net income is about 3.4 millions (4 quarter excluded). Recently they announced that  unaudited gross sales for the quarter ended December 31, 2005 were $24 million, up 55% over gross sales of $15.5 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2004.
There was some insider buying late November.

Technical reason:
It is now resting on a 61.8% Fibonacci (see short term chart) and it is little above an old resistance which now becomes a support (see long term chart). So the downside is minimal but with positive news a very likeable upside (positive earnings announcements f.ex...)

Stock Picking / Re: Need a DIET?

I don´t think we will have earnings announced this week. I recently sent investors relations e-mail asking about if they had some numbers on the Fresh Cusine and got this answer back -

"We have not given out numbers at this time but will update investors on our 4th quarter call which will be during the second week of March.

Sincerely,

John Mills"

My pick for this round is a small cap called AERTA.
AERTA manufactures and markets composite building materials that can be used as an alternative to traditional wood products for certain applications in the construction industry.

Fundamental reason:
The company has been doing very well recently. 2004 their net income was 1.5 millions but so far for 2005 their net income is about 3.4 millions (4 quarter excluded). Recently they announced that  unaudited gross sales for the quarter ended December 31, 2005 were $24 million, up 55% over gross sales of $15.5 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2004.
There was some insider buying late November.

Technical reason:
Recently the stock advanced more than 40% (in less than two weeks) but last Friday they had a very welcomed pullback (with RSI over 85). So I expect it to start climbing soon (maybe this is not a fast enough climber for such a short time frame...).
If it breaks 2.50 I think we could be in for a ride. ;)

My pick is IINT.
Indus International, Inc., a small-cap company in the technology sector.
Indus International, Inc. engages in the development, licensing, implementation, support, and hosting of service delivery management (SDM) solutions. These software solutions enable clients to manage their customers, assets, workforce, spare parts inventory, tools, and documentation.
This stock is clearly in an uptrending channel. I am hoping it could break out of 4 (2 years high).
The stock is under heavy accumulation by financial institutions.

My pick for this contest would be ACTU.
ACTUATE CORP, (ACTU) provides information delivery solutions for Global 2000 companies, Internet start-ups and packaged application software vendors. The company builds solutions for customer applications including e-CRM, e-Procurement and Net marketplaces.

This pick is mostly based on fundamentals but in a technical view it was trading above $30 in 2001. Recently it delivered good numbers that showed increase in profits.
There have been some accumulation going on among institutonal investors.

Total revenues of $26.8 million increased 13% compared to the third quarter of 2004;
License revenues of $8.9 million increased 11% compared to the third quarter of 2004;
Non-GAAP EPS of $0.06 increased $0.07 compared with the third quarter of 2004;
Repurchased 864,000 shares at a total cost of $2.0 million;
Non-GAAP operating margin was 18%, a record-setting level for the second consecutive quarter;
Non-GAAP net profit margin was a record 13%;
Cash flow from operations for the third quarter 2005 was $3.3 million, bringing the 2005 year-to-date total to $8.3 million;
Cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments reached a record $50.8 million;
Services margin continued to improve to a record 68%.

It is trading now sideways in the 2.80-2.90 area but it might close a gap around 2.6. I wouldn´t bet on that though ;)

Previous 3SOF Picks / Re: FORD is moving forward
August 31, 2005, 04:30:39 PM
Ford is looking very bullish even without all the shorts (major short squeeze coming). Today it broke resistance in the 25 area and closed at the top of the day.
Anyone have an idea of a price target?

Ford is running. We could be looking at a major short squeeze. More then 40% of float is short.

Stock Market Talking / Re: izone.com

Ok thanks.
But do they have the Command Center as Ameritrade has? I have an account at Ameritrade and I like them alot (exept for the 10 bucks fee) and I use the Command Center to execute my trades.

Stock Market Talking / izone.com
August 28, 2005, 06:46:16 AM
Have anyone tried izone.com as an online trading service? They are a part of Ameritrade and they offer far less service but I think they have most of the analysis stuff Ameritrade offers. And they are just $5 per transaction (stocks). They cannot been reached through phone just by e-mail. I had never heard of them until recently and that was just by luck. Anyone using them?
Thanks.

Previous 3SOF Picks / Re-enter FORD?
August 25, 2005, 05:48:32 PM
FORD sent out a very clear buying signal today I belive. Bouncing of the ascending trendline and the MA (50) and forming a Doji that would imply that this is the turning point from short term bearish trend. And FORD is also looking great fundamentally. Any comments?

Stock Picking / API
August 16, 2005, 07:47:28 PM
API has had increased volume/price over the last two days. Up from 2.86 on Friday to 3.45 today. It has two white candles and maybe the third is coming? It had a huge price spike back in 2000 when it soared to 18 in a few days (see link below). It has only insider buying this year and fundamentally it is  undervalued. Anyone have an input??  :)

Stock Picking / Re: CWPC
August 09, 2005, 06:26:17 PM
The chart is looking very nice. Closing just below the high of the day and reaching all times high today.
I have come across some articles about this oil sand in Canada and some are predicting it will be huge due to the oil issue. What do you think? Could this one be heading at least 100% higher in the short term? How high do you think this one could go?
Thanks.

CWPC is up 0.12 or 17% today
