Stock Picking / Activision - ATVI?
November 29, 2007, 05:26:33 PM
Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq:ATVI) is raising its net revenue and earnings per diluted share outlook for the fiscal third quarter ending December 31 2007 and for fiscal year 2008. Robert Kotick, Chairman and CEO, Activision, Inc., said, "We are confident that the third quarter of fiscal 2008 will be the largest and most profitable quarter ever. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and our newly released Call of Duty 4(TM): Modern Warfare(TM) already are two of the biggest entertainment titles this year. Due to the strong consumer response to our slate through October and strong retail sales over the Thanksgiving weekend, we are raising our financial outlook for the December quarter and the fiscal year."

Stock Picking / MSFT - Can Microsoft be a growth play?
November 03, 2007, 11:26:07 AM

Microsoft is showing growing signs. But, for a big company such as microsoft, it needs a big engine to pull it off. I am wondering if XBOX or Vista has that kind of Mojo?

I did some number crunching here:

Stock Picking / SNCR
July 24, 2007, 12:48:24 AM
SNCR is seeing some surge in volume for the past few days.

Synchronoss Technologies, Inc. provides multi-channel transaction management solutions to the communications services and digital content marketplaces primarily in North America. SNCR offers its products and services to wireless service providers, voice over Internet protocol enablers, long distance carriers, and CSPs.

Revenue Growth:
for the past 2 years = 63.2%
for the past 3 years = 63.6%

Gross Margin:
for the past 2 years = 47.5%
for the past 3 years = 43.3%

Since Sept 2006 SNCR has been surprising positively with the earnings estimate, but the surprise amount has been decreasing though.

Morningstar Ratings are:
Growth: A-
Profitability: C+
Financial Health: A

Though momentum seems to be behind this stock, the P/E is very high (88.58 TTM) and that makes me think twice before making any moves.

Wonderful notes on C&H.

Do we have the technology now to screen for C&H patterns, by any chance?
