Stuck in PAL for the moment.

My take  on PAL:

It may trade in 5.25 - 6.5 range. It will test 5.25 for the third time. If it cannot hold, it will break-down. 6.5 will the cap. The final trend will depend on the earning report. Most likely, it will be down.

3.5 - 4.5 are the strong support.

This stock traded in cycles.

It is in the final stage of current down cycle (may last few months).

Stuck in PAL for the moment.
April 18th had 3 short-term bearish indicators;
weekly momemtum indicator
price cossed the 21-day moving average
triple mofing average cross over (4, 9 and 18 day moving average)
that's not to say it couldn't turn around soon.
good luck!

Just a word about technical analysis.  TA goes only so far as the people that pay attention to them.  The more obsure the TA indicator is, the less people that pay attention to them, and, therefore, the less impact the indicator actually has.  Weekly momentum, triple moving average cross, etc., are obsure, in my opinion and, therefore, irrelevant.

Buddjas1 what is your exit plan with PAL? Are you riding to earnings May 12th?

No, I will never ever hold through earnings.  I will hold as long as the triple bottom holds, anticipating at least 2 or 3 up days in a row to let me get out in the mid-6s.  If triple bottom breaks, I'll probably sell.  Let's see what happens.

Week 7 performance:
Me = $670.69 to $647.29; -3.49%
Dow = 12,325 to 12,849; +4.25%

Total perfomance
Me = $463.63 to $647.29; +39.6%
Dow = 12,264 to 12,849; +4.70%

North American Palladium Announces First Quarter 2008 Production Results

"Highlights for the Quarter

- Total palladium production for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 was 61,091 ounces, a decrease of 22% compared to the same quarter a year ago but in line with management's expectations.

- Production guidance of 300,000 ounces of palladium in 2008 is reaffirmed.

- Average palladium spot price of US$444 per ounce for Q1 2008 represents a 28% increase over the average spot price of US$346 for Q1 2007."

Bottom line is that PAL is not profitable and will not be, given 22% decline in production, even with the 28% increase in Pd prices.  What's the point?

Bought 41 ESEA @ 14.94.

I see a bull pennant closing, resuming to the upside.

buddjas1

The decision to drop PAL for ESEA seems like a good one.  PAL dropped further while ESEA reached new highs (on a very red day).  Perhaps PAL will bounce (quadruple bottom?), but probably not after today's news.

ESEA is undervalued, with estimates of $1.87 for 2008.  15.11/1.87= 8.08 forward PE.

Euroseas Ltd. Announces Time Charter Agreement for One of Its Container Ships

"Aristides Pittas, Chairman and CEO of Euroseas, commented: "We are very pleased to announce that we have secured all of our containerships for 2008 and a significant percentage of them for 2009 on profitable time charters. By securing our income base with our container fleet and leaving the majority of our dry bulk fleet exposed to the presently strong spot market, we believe we will maximize our shareholders' returns.""

wpSoft2008

ESEA is in shipping sector and that sector is on fire recently.

I own EXM and gained more than 50% since I bought two weeks ago.

Others: DRYS, TBSI, NM, ... all performs well.
