Very interesting video la-onda, thanks :)

Trading plan:

1. Take profits at $54.9;
2. Take a small loss if the stock is set to close below $28.

So far so good, CALM held the second shoulder promise and seems to be heading back up. We'll see if we can challenge the neckline at $35 over the next few days.

I guess the market has shifted its focus from inflation to something different, but it won't last ... and food inflation is a very strong theme across the World now. This perhaps explains why CALM's volume is so high, despite not being followed by any analyst.

Trading plan:

1. Take profits at $54.9;
2. Take a small loss if the stock is set to close below $28.

During the last 90 minutes of today's session, shares of Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. (NasdaqNM: CALM) demonstrated a strong UPWARD close relative to its 13:30 ET statistics. "Strong Closers" are determined by proprietary Knobias calculations performed during the last segment of each trading day.

Quoteshort squeeze has started imho ;D

Yeah, great day for CALM, up 6.4% with 1.8 million shares changing hands. I find CALM's volume impressive for a stock not followed by any analyst ...

The inverted head & shoulders pattern is shaping up I'm eager for a bullish breakout of the neckline at $35.

We'll see what happens next, the trading plan remains:

1. Take profits at $54.9;
2. Take a small loss if the stock is set to close below $28.

David Randolph

CALM's short interest is really high, with 13,077,968 shares sold short of the 23,712,291 total shares outstanding. Jesus, if we consider just the free float, which is 16,558,979 shares, we get to the conclusion that 79% of the available shares are sold short.

There's an interesting post on this subject on Yahoo Finance, whatever it's worth.

CALM had a nasty day yesterday on low volume. We'll see what the next few days bring, the plan remains:

1. Take profits at $54.9;
2. Take a small loss if the stock is set to close below $28.

CALM: Short Interest UP 1.1% to 13.2M at the End of Apr 2008

Friday , May 09, 2008 16:16ET

According to new short interest data from NASDAQ, short interest for Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. (NasdaqNM: CALM) INCREASED 1.1% to 13,217,092 shares as reported at month-end April, 2008. Based on CALM's 20-day average daily share volume of 1,053,815, it would require approximately 13 day(s) of buying to cover this short interest.

Waiting for the short squeeze May 16th............

Update:

Just a quick recap on this one:
1) Solid Fundamentals, trading at just 5 time earnings (half its Industry P/E)
2) Interesting Technical Outlook, especially when looking to its long term chart and the way the long term ascending support is working.
3) Interesting short term technical layout, with a probable Inverted H&S in play.
4) Huge short interest, making this a time bomb for a «short squezz»

In attach 2 charts (short term and long term).

David's trading plan looks good to me, the stop @ $28 is slightly below its long term support and in a spot where the Inverted H&S would be compromised. The target @ $54.9 seems reasonable on a bullish breakout scenario (at that price CALM would still be trading below its industry multiples).

Trading Plan:
1. Take profits at $54.9;
2. Take a small loss if the stock is set to close below $28.

How does a dividend exactly work? Is there a minimum time that you need to have your shares or is buying a day before the dividend is payed good enough to profit from it?
