DannyOhad

ket1390,

How can I buy premarket?

Stocky2000

DannyOhad which broker do you have? i have ameritrade so there i can buy pre market from 0800-0915 o clock.  Or afterhours.

I buy just pre market when the gap is not that high up....for example i never buy a stock that is 15-30% in the plus; mostly those filll the gap later..

DannyOhad

I use Scottrade.
Probably they do not support that.

Hmmmm.... so 3SOF is in AOB again. Great news and a very clever decission as usual!

I can't help asking why it is for the fast portefolio? AOB is a rock solid earnings story (as solid as they come these days  ) and should be 3SOF main portefolio. So David are we going to see an upgrade to the main portefolio when earnings are released ?

Michael, i'll repeat my question: why can we assume that AOB's earnings will be good, were there some important announcements or interesting developments last quarter/CC?!
I think many of us are still doubting if the should hold through earnings

Hi Se7en,

I could answer your question by quoting my posts from 3 to 4 months ago. There is a lot of reasons why I believe that AOB is a fundamental excellent story (the boom in the Chinese economy and health sector in particular, privatization of state owned companies, their particular products, international distribution etc.) Please go back in the original thread.

In this case I will take the easy route though (I am always jealous of the TA guy's who can just refer to the chart ;)). This is a Chinese company. Sometimes a lot of people knows the good news before the market does. With careful fundamental analysis you might be able to predict the results but otherwise the chart gives you a good indication. Have a look at the chart see the reaction to the earnings date today and make your own conclusion:

AMERICAN ORIENTAL BIOENGINEERING REPORTS RECORD 2005 SECOND QUARTER RESULTS

Revenue Increases 98.2% and Income From Operations Increases 140.9% Leading to 122.5% Increase in Net Income; Company Reports Quarterly Diluted EPS of 8 Cents

America Oriental Bioengineering, Inc. (AMEX: AOB - News), a rapidly growing Chinese company that produces and distributes a broad range of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products, announced today record second quarter and six-month results for the period ended June 30, 2004. The Company generated 2005 second quarter revenue of $11.9 million, a 98.2% increase compared to $6.0 million for the same period in 2004. American Oriental Bioengineering generated Income from Operations of $4.4 million, a 140.9% increase from $1.9 million in the 2004 second quarter. The Company had net income of $3.4 million, or $0.08 per basic and diluted share, a 122.6% increase versus $1.5 million, or $0.05 per basic and diluted share, for the comparable period in 2004.

For the six months ended June 30, 2005, American Oriental Bioengineering Inc. had revenue of $21.6 million, an increase of 81% compared to $11.9 million for the same six-month period in 2004. The Company reported Income from Operations of $7.5 million, a 117.8% increase from the $3.4 million reported for the same period in fiscal 2004. American Oriental Bioengineering generated net income of $5.5 million, or $0.14 per basic share ($0.13 per diluted share), a 100% increase compared to $2.8 million, or $0.08 per basic and diluted share for the first six months of fiscal 2004.

The Company ended the period with its strongest balance sheet ever, as it had cash and cash equivalents at June 30, 2005 of $14.9 million compared to $11 million at the end of the first six months of 2004.

Second quarter sales of the Company's PBP Products (Plant Based Pharmaceutical Products) increased by 223% as compared to the same period in 2004, contributing to American Oriental Bioengineering's strong results. This growth was primarily a result of an increase in sales of Cease Enuresis Soft Gel products. Also, the acquisition of HSPL (Heilongjiang Songhuajiang Pharmaceutical Ltd.) contributed to the increase in sales of PBP Products due to a broader product line. Sales of PBN Products (Plant Based Nutraceutical Products) increased by 21%, as a result of increased marketing and sales initiatives.

"We continue to experience rapid growth as a result of our innovative products and expanded distribution capabilities," said Tony (Shujun) Liu, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of American Oriental Bioengineering, Inc. "The acquisition of HSPL has enabled us to expand our product line and enter new markets. Through the combination of new product initiatives and expanded sales and marketing activities and a strong balance sheet, we believe we are well positioned to continue to generate strong organic growth and to selectively pursue accretive acquisitions."

If you checked my post on stock picks contest, you could have bought it last Friday at $5.74.

I prsented the same chart as David presented here  in that post.

Among the picks, VPHM, BOOM, WGAT, TMTA, AOB gave the biggest gain so far.

VPHM gave very good earnings, BOOM and TMTA are expecting to have good earnings, so is AOB.

Normally, once the company gives a good report, it will continue the trend for few guarters.

My only regret is that I did not buy it big last Friday, only 10K.

Thanks for all your comments  :)

I bough AOB really low (it was still AOBO.OB), but I sold it way too soon, around $2.5 I believe, for a nice profit. That was clearly a mistake, that I wasn't fast enough to correct. Now I see a stock that rose from about $1 to $6.70 in just 5 months. No problem with that, I agree with you, the stock is still undervalued, specially if it is able to maintain its growth rate some more quarters.

I may buy it for the 3 Stocks on Fire Portfolio, but not now, and certainly not after the earnings release, since there's clearly a buy the rumor, sell the fact thing working on now.

I have to do one thing now: clean up my head from every fundamental thought on AOB. The Fast Portfolio is for technical plays only. I believe I'll do better if I just trust the charts for these fast position trades.

So, I bought AOB based on a probable ascending triangle breakout. That breakout has a technical target of around $8.38. That's where I'll take my profits if I have the chance.

Considering the downside, and since this is a Fast trading proposition, I don't want to see this stock losing momentum, specially when there's a buy the rumor thing working (oops, I did it). I consider the stock has lost momentum if it is set to close below the midpoint of yesterday's white candle, which was $6.42.

The trading plan is:

1) Take profits around $8.38
2) Sell if the stock is set to close below $6.42 (if 10 or 5 minutes before the close you see it trading below $6.42, get out).
