I was wondering why the stock b/o on Wednesday on no news. I had an alarm set for $4(200ema/resistance) and bought shortly after. http://tinyurl.com/b39rw

I checked and earnings werent suppose to come out until the 18th. Dont bother to bookmark this site http://www.fulldisclosure.com/company.asp?client=cb&ticker=ipix  ...it previously said the 18th but recently changed the date after the fact.  :(  I dont hold the stock anymore..sold half on Weds b/o and sold the rest on Friday. I was watching when the news came out Friday and got excited thinking it was a contract or other positive news because the stock initially spiked to the upside. Then I saw the news was earnings and sold it after the stock whipsawed a little and then started to move down. As far as i know, none of these little security plays are making money ..so its no surprise to see the sell the news scenario. Looks like Wednesday action was just a run into earnings that also triggered some technical buying at the 200ma's. I dont mind playing a stocks run-up into earnings but try to never hold when they are actually released(been disappointed too many times).
If you still hold the stock, only 40k shares were traded afterhours http://tinyurl.com/8lrdd with the last trade at $3.90. It closed the regular session above the 9ema and 200ema so hopefully tomorrows premarket wont be to volatile/manipulated and hope to see it bounce back some at the open. I wasnt logged on 3sf thurs/fri but i'll be on tomorrow morning. I may look to reenter for a bounce if the stock dips as low as the 20ema/center b-band around $3.64 but I dont think its going to fallback that far with the sector being so hot right now. -gotta keep in mind though alot of these stocks and other small caps have made great %gains the past few months with the bull market. I believe a healthy pullback/profit taking has already started so Im being more cautious buying high - selling higher.

IPIX is balanced on the razors edge -- ready to make a "Quantum" leap, perhaps triggering the squeeze long anticipated.

I anticipate the breakout to happen within the next few trading days, but most probably tomorrow.

IPIX just put out good earnings and had a 9% jump today.  Looks like it broke out from a downtrend on high volume.

IPIX Reports Results for Third Quarter 2005
Wednesday November 9, 1:39 pm ET

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 9, 2005--IPIX Corporation (NASDAQ:IPIX - News), a premier supplier of 360-degree, immersive imaging technologies for visual intelligence applications, announced results for its third quarter ended September 30, 2005.

Revenue for the quarter was $1.50 million, a 2% increase from the same period in the previous year. Net loss to common shareholders for the third quarter was ($5.29) million or ($0.20) per share compared to ($3.55) million or ($0.18) per share in the comparable period a year ago. In the year ago quarter, net loss to common shareholders included loss from discontinued operations of ($1.16) million or ($0.06) a share.

In the third quarter, professional service revenue increased under IPIX's $2.4 million research contract with the Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to research and build the world's highest resolution video camera. Hardware and license revenue declined as IPIX changed its distribution system in Europe by ending their exclusive arrangement with European distributor NMI after that company was unable to meet certain agreed upon minimum performance objectives.

Operating expenses rose significantly in the quarter versus the same period last year. IPIX expanded its sales and marketing efforts and focused on building strong product awareness for IPIX's immersive video line. IPIX also incurred substantial attorneys' fees, primarily in connection with patent litigation and registration of securities from a June 2005 private placement.

"IPIX made major progress on our DARPA contract to create the highest resolution camera," said IPIX President and CEO Clara Conti. "We remain confident that governmental and commercial demand for video surveillance products will expand rapidly and believe that our products and services are well positioned to participate in this growth."

Good volume, positive MACD, recent double bottom on RSI, and big breakout today.  Looking like things are shaping up pretty solidly.  Check it out!
