TXCO Resources Inc., an independent energy company, engages in the acquisition, exploration, exploitation, development, and production of oil and gas properties. It also operates, directs, and drills oil and gas wells, as well as participates in non-operated wells. The company owns interests in the Maverick Basin of southwest Texas, the Fort Trinidad area in east Texas, the onshore Gulf Coast region, the Marfa Basin of Texas, the Midcontinent region of western Oklahoma, and the shallow Gulf of Mexico waters, as well as Louisiana, Montana, South Dakota, and North Dakota. As of December 31, 2008, it had estimated net proved reserves of 81.7 billion cubic feet of gas equivalent. The company was formerly known as The Exploration Company of Delaware, Inc. changed its name to TXCO Resources Inc. in 2007. TXCO Resources Inc. was founded in 1979 and is based in San Antonio, Texas.
