I don't know if David feels the run in RHAT is over, but here is its chart and others' that appear to have good set ups with volume.

Something to think about.

Melf Elf

3 Bullish Pattern breakouts, Tommy, and on surprisingly good volume on Friday, in pre-holiday trading.  RHAT also took out the down trendline from the July, 2004 gap.

The first two targets, just overhead in the 14.60's, are below the 14.80 gap, so that 2% gain shouldn't be a problem.  Might pull back from there for a breakout re-test.

Short term taerget - $16.5 year high

The stock is pulled back from $16.25 -> $13.5 and now is traded at $14.10.

1. $13.50 is previous high;
2. $13.50 is 61.8% retracement of run from $12.00 -> $16.25
3. in uptrend since May 2005 with higher lows and higher highs
4. KD(18,5) rebounced from oversold
5. MACD divergence
6. the stock has the trading pattern in the past - slow down but fast pump
7. fundamental is improving as LINUX service revenues getting better and better.

Here is the RHAT daily chart:

Sorry you have to use horizontal scoll bar.

I can have a smaller chart but not so clear.

RHAT is doing exactly what I expected.

It is now at $15.60, 11% gain so far.

It has the pattern: fast up, and slow down.

Update on RHAT:

SHORT TERM TARGET: $16.50

$14.10->$16.50 (12% gain) in one - two weeks.

My picks are for big account. If you buy stocks picked by David, most likely you can only risk few k dollars or up to $10k.

But for the picks I have, you can invest $100k and 200k easily and no problem to sell at any time.

Man, did I blow it on this one!  RHAT went to 22.46 this week, and closed at 21.19   :o

I wanted a pullback to the breakout (see chart above), which came 7 weeks later, but I wasn't paying attention.   :'(

I'll post the updated chart in ShawFund's RHAT folder, for anyone interested, so that I can give ShawFund the applause that he so well deserves, and so that we all can learn from these patterns and give each other a "heads' up" when these breakouts and pullbacks occur.

shawFund,

Applause for your posts on this thread!

I've mentioned on other threads how powerful and explosive "nested patterns" can be.   "Nested patterns" means patterns within other patterns, as you can see from the chart below.  They can either be bullish or bearish.  In this case, there were 3 Nested Bullish Patterns, and there also was a breakout above a descending trendline on the Triple Pattern Breakout on July 1, 2005.

The Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) upgrade on July 1 was the catalyst for the breakout.  I have to give them credit for that very timely upgrade!  The low of the day on the July 1 breakout was 13.50.  On August 24, RHAT pullback to 13.50 exactly, which certainly doesn't always happen, but what a great entry that would have been!  As of Friday's close, RHAT is up 57% from there.

"Nested Patterns" often act as a coiled spring.  When they finish and breakout, the rally can be powerful.

Unfortunately, that wasn't immediately the case with GSS, on which I made a ton of posts.  It broke out, then fizzled back into the Bullish Patterns.  I sold it to protect a profit, then it took off higher.  lol.

Watch for these "nested patterns."  They can be very profitable.

Again, great job, shawFund!  Hope you made alot of $$$$

Red Hat, Inc. " RHAT " stock has been moving in a negatively inclined channel since May as show the chart above. During this week touched in the top of the trend and inverted again, so this short uptrend lost the strength, next support before the bottom of the trend is $21.50.
