Hi Oliver,

I put this one on my watchlist since you mentioned it first.

Since then there have been several positive development:

  • Xing has just signed a deal with Thomson to supply mobile phones and wireless phones. The initial purchase for the year 2005 will be no less than US$17 million
  • They expect to increase their interest in CECT from  52% to 74%.
  • During the first half of 2005, CECT has continuously gained market share while it has moved up a further three places on the league chart to No. 6 in terms of market share.

CECT produce what I consider to be the best combined PDA and Mobile phone in the world (rated no. 1 Jbenchmark!):

You can see all their phones here:

CECT is among the top 3 local brands in China and is gaining marketshare inside and outside China

The Chairman and CEO has recently said that:

QuoteAll in all, we expect sales revenue to increase 20% from US$244.0 million for 2004 to about US$280-300 million for 2005 and gross profit to increase by 40.0% from US$27.0 million for 2004 to US$36-38 million for 2005. Our target gross profit margin for the year 2005 is around 14% versus 11.1% for the year 2004

The positive news flow has however still not moved the share price:

It does however seems like the stock is ready for a reversal: We made a nice hammer on Thursday and the stock made a white candle on Friday despite that the market in general was down.

J M Dutton has a target of 8.10 for the stock. Their initial research report is here:

UPS that was the wrong link to the Dutton report. Here is the right link: http://www.jmdutton.com/research/xing/reports/xing_report_051805.pdf

Based on the company's forcast for the rest of the year EPS should come in at around 1.15. The forward PE is around 5.40 which is very cheap for a company growing as fast as XING.

More good news around XING!

QuoteAug. 10 (Bloomberg) -- China Mobile (Hong Kong) Ltd., the world's largest mobile-phone company by users, reported a 36 percent jump in second-quarter profit as discounts attracted subscribers in rural areas. The shares had their biggest gain in almost three years.

China Mobile added 19.5 million users in the first half, or a rise of 69.4 percent from a year ago, the biggest gain in the past five years. Some 73 percent were prepaid customers and the rest contract users. The company had 223.8 million users as of June 30, more than two-thirds of the nation's cell-phone market.

XING has a strategic partnership relationships with China Telecom so no wonder that XING's sales are soaring!

After that huge early morning exuberance and volume which shot XING to $6.30 ish it has pulled back to what I consider a great entry point. I'm looking to buy at $5.70 area if I can, support is close by, fundamentals are good and there is a lovely 1 day red candle to get filled. My intraday chart has XING sitting on 200ema support (5 min view, I use this to guide entry points)

Another great deal for XING:

Qiao Xing Universal Telephone, Inc.'s Subsidiary CEC Telecom Co. Ltd Partners with Telecommunications Operator and Technology Supplier to Penetrate China's Satellite Navigation Terminal Products Market
Monday August 15, 9:45 am ET

The satellite navigation market in China for 2005 is a US$1.23 billion one. CECT will manufacture at least US$120 million's worth of GPS/GSM mobile phones for the GPS (Global Position System) Service Operator on an annual basis.

http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/050815/cnm008.html?.v=6

The stock continues the reversal and XING has now officially broken out of the down-trend which started after the release of the 2004 figures. We are now fighting the resistance around 6.0.

The strong fundamentals of the stock will sooner or later break the resistance.

Totally agree. The stock is still fighting for $6.00 resistnce.

Whenever it tries to break it, strong selling is followed.

The low of $5.40 holds. So I can say, it is still base building and traded in narrow range of $5.40-$6.00. But it formed small ascending triangle in recent trading sessions.

I have small position in this stock.
