EliteG, your wisdom on TGC would be much appreciated. The stock has had strong volume last few days and strong swings from 50 cents to 99 cents. it currently closed out the week at 77 cents after going down to 60 cents. fundamentals look good.

It is in the energy sector, NG and futures on NG is up 168%. It has cleaned out its balance sheet, a mere 100K debt left, all preferred convertibles have been cleared! Last qtr was cash flow positive. So next quarter should be profitable.

looks like it is going to make a strong run next week. the stock is marginable!

hey starfire  ;) not sure if you can call it wisdom but I'll give the analysis a shot.

Lets see TGC - the perfect entry was probably on Sept 28.  Perfect because it breaks out from a tight consolidation with a lot of volume.  This makes it a bit safer too.  But now we are nearly 100% higher.

The positives for the last 2 days of decline for TGC would be that you have long lower shadows/tails.  Since I don't buy pennies on pullbacks the only place I would buy TGC is on a strong break of .90.

There is historical resistance @ $1 - $1.50 but TGC has never seen volume like this.  So it may just motor on through.

I wasn't aware that you could margin something this low in price... I will check into that.

Overall I'm thinking TGC does want higher.

Hope that gives you something to work with.   8)

thanks bud. Yep, it looks like it wants to go higher but people are taking the profits of at the $1 resisitance level!!! What' perplexing is that the analysts have pegged a 12 month price target of $16!!! Is it a typo or do they know something that the street does not know. Here is the analyst's link.

by the by I am in TGC, took a long term position in the high 50s. I could change my mind though!!

catrader

upda - now like around $1, would you say still in g3?  too risky to get back in here?

eliteG

UPDA is hot catrader, no doubt  ;) if its g3 then its already hit its target(over 100% from g-spot @ 0.485).  Interesting to see what it does today.

dhiraj19

I missed both UPDA and TGC. Are there any new stocks on horizon? Any tips will be appreciated.

Something on uptrend in 0.24 -0.32 with more than 2 mil av daily volume may be good one to get in.

thats what its all about  ;) keeping the eyes open.  Its taken me a long time to realize and every now and then I forget again but you cant be a part of every crazy move(50%+) in the market.  I know that is obvious but the conclusion may not be.  And to me the conlusions or results of this thinking is.. Its ok to miss out on a 500% move.  There will be plenty of huge moves.. and if you can catch a fraction of that and limit your losses you will be ok.  :)

I have been taking a break from active posting for a while.. doing a lot of research and analysis.  This is because my account grew over 250% in September!  And thats not a little  ;D.

It seems most of my gains came from a few plays that were held mostly < 2days.  The first was on 8/31 BSM(a great kickstart), also HYRF, AMEP, SQUM.. some others and some daytrading.

It is interesting(not surprising  ;)) that when I noticed these stocks on my stockcharts.com scan there were already topics started(sometimes many days b4) here on 3stocksonfire.  These topics usually included some very useful fundamental data and news items.  I also searched other boards and blogs for data as well.

2 issues that I had:

  • all my funds were invested when I would come upon something very exciting and I could not allocate resources(buy the hot stock) due to settling time on my non-marginable penny positions.
  • I sold tooooo early.

So most of the gain came from momentum moves in low priced stocks(mostly pennies).  But thats just how to play the winners.  I did have some losers and the key to those was cutting them quick.  I am buying momentum.  Since that is my reason for entry the stock needs to get up and go immediately or my money needs to be elsewhere.  Stocks that looked great but weren't moving I decided didn't look that great.

Now I dont want to give the wrong impression.  There were not many trades made.  Its just that I am an impatient trader so I had to come up with a style that would suit me.  I am impatient with stocks that do not move immediately.  I figured that according to the look and feel of the chart its a momentum play and so if it doesnt go.. I need to be careful.  Also with profits I feel a need to be aggressive but looking back at the trades I was too aggressive and could have at least doubled the return for the month, no joke.

So, thats the past.. and what about the future?

Why not repeat the past.. specifically returns like September?  :D

What I am going to try to do is comment about all the plays that I feel are set up to go, whether I can enter them or not and these will all be based on charts that I get in my studies.  The ones that I do enter I'll post my buy price and sell price.  I sometimes enter in parts and leave in parts so I'll post that too.  I'll also try to post the intraday 5-min charts with annotations if I do get a real momentum mover(a big fish)  >:D.

These plays do not set up everyday.. a week may go by with nothing to play.  I am looking for momentum, G-patterns and some other things from my research in these plays.

I hope you guys can help put me in place(smite), and let me know what I'm doing poorly.  And if your learning or profitting let me know(applaud).  Its amazing how inspiring both those can be  ;) :D

Now remember you are trading your account.. nobody else so make sure that no play can wipe you out, do not take on too much risk to handle.  Pull the plug when you need to.  The plays that I'll be trading are designed for me.. which means a trader who can stay in front of their machine the whole day, with lvl2(Nasdaq,BB) and quick order execution.  I try to have targets but since these are momentum plays I adjust to what I feel the momentum will give me.

The purpose of posting these plays is to get feedback and to have a record of the plays.

I start by next week. Monday if something shows up.

So lets see how it goes.  8)

Trade it Good  :)

Nice, EliteG!

A very big congratulations to you...It was very skillfull, and an inspiration to the rest of us (or at least to me!)  ;)

I wish there was a way for your posts to trigger an alarm on this site. I guess I'll just have to flip back and forth between the different pages I have open during the trading-day.

Keep posting your great (and very read-worthy) comments... :-*

Cheers...
Happy trading...

:)

Cumulina.
