Might have to get some more shares myself, I got in at 13.2 and yeah, its been a bit tough, but I agree with David's comments.  I am also impressed at the pedigree of the COO they brought in, an Executive Director from Goldman Sachs, that speaks volumes to me.

I guess what's happening with GIGM is a multiple contraction. The stock is trading at 19.5 times 2006 EPS (but this EPS has some extraordinary income, so the trailing multiple is even higher), and that doesn't look cheap when one considers stock market history.

However, I expect GIGM to keep on growing very fast, since its business is totally independent of the economic cycle (unless the cycle is extremely severe, but I don't think that's going to be the case), in my view.

GIGM is now trading at 11.5 times the average 2008 EPS estimate of $0.86, but I think that, because of the company's pipeline of new services and products, there's a strong possibility of EPS being $1 or even more.

I'll keep holding GIGM for the long term, despite the short term adversity.

Man, GIGM getting taken to the cleaners yet again today.  $9 should act as a rough support from the long term chart, but I do have to wonder what is going on.

Went long this morning at average 9.2.  I think we're at the high volume sell off which may denote the bottom.  RSI hasn't been this low ever I think.  If this can close near the open or even slightly below it would leave a nice long tail.  That with the high volume looks nice on a chart after the long sell off from it's high's recently.  If we get the "kangaroo" tail, AND tomorrow closes higher with strong volume, then I think we could be in for a nice bounce at least.  But keep in mind earnings are next Tuesday.

It was looking good until about 1:00 pm eastern time but now its selling off again.  We'll see where it closes.

Casual Game Portal FunTown Stops Operation in China
Tue, Aug 7, 2007 Games

Casual game portal Funtown announced that it will stop its operation in mainland China starting from Aug 23. Formerly part of Acer Group, the Taiwan based casual game portal was acquired by Gigamedia (NASDAQ:GIGM) in 2006. Funtown China was launched in 2005 and currently offers 7 casual games including cards, pool and mahjong. Redline China believes the closing of FunTown China indicates the fierce competition in the casual games business, especially from competitors such as Tencent and Lianzhong, who benefit from a large variety of game offerings and an established player base.
