First Shipment of Filtering Systems Leaves for Hurricane Katrina Survivors
09/20/2005 08:00
RALEIGH, NC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 09/20/05 -- HydroFlo, Inc. (OTC BB: HYRF) today announced portfolio company Metals & Arsenic Removal Technology, Inc. (MARTI) has donated water filtering systems, along with HydroFlo portfolio company HydroFlo Water Treatment (HWTI) consulting services, to aid in the Hurricane Katrina disaster relief effort. The initial commitment for distribution of water pitchers and filters is for 5,000 units. The first shipment has been sent out to assist survivors and other shipments will follow to FEMA and the DOD as units are produced by our manufacturers.

Dennis L. Mast, Chief Executive Officer of HydroFlo, stated, ?In response to the President's request to restore the basic infrastructure of the hurricane-ravaged municipalities, HydroFlo has enlisted the help of local lobbyist Joe Mapes. Joe brings us the ability to have direct contact with families that have been affected as well as introductions to local governments and municipalities that need our help.?

Local lobbyist Joe Mapes of Baton Rouge, who has five families living in his office headquarters, has agreed to assist in the distribution of the water filtration systems and to help introduce HydroFlo to the local municipalities that will most benefit from HydroFlo portfolio company HydroFlo Water Treatment (HWTI) consulting services. Mr. Mapes commented, ?Louisiana is now the epicenter for change regarding how America protects itself from catastrophe -- be it man-made or natural. It is critical we 'get it right' in Louisiana first and then apply what we?ve learned nationwide to ensure a safe, productive future for America?s children and grandchildren.?

John D. Milne of mCapitol Management, who is very familiar with the Hurricane-affected area having been a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, stated, ?We are continuing our efforts with Federal and State agencies to offer HydroFlo technology to victims of the hurricane to assist in their recovery from this devastating storm in the form of water filter systems and consulting services.?

Metals & Arsenic Removal Technology, Inc. (MARTI) is an international provider of water treatment solutions, treating water for industrial, municipal and residential customers. MARTI markets, designs, builds, and installs water filtration and treatment systems for the removal of arsenic in drinking water. Water contaminated with bacteria, viruses and poisonous toxins is killing people. The ARTI-64(TM) media combination is one of the most effective methods to eliminate and reduce these pollutants in order to provide clean potable water to the world.

Maybe or maybe not, Julia. Do you have any idea what he had to say? It was quite interesting how this stock filled that gap at .49 and then IMMEDIATELY reversed to close green on the day. Gotta love it when that happens, especially when you know it's a definite possibility. I would think HYRF should have no problems from here , although I would like to see this Chinese deal signed and not merely a LOI. All the best.

Sorry Irish, i did not listen to the interview yet..but, there is a link inserted in the news release if you would like to hear for yourself.

I actually jumped in at .515 when i noticed buys coming in...so, i guess i finally picked a good time to jump in...usually i find the worst time to jump in ;D

Well..i hope there is alot more to come, and yes the signing should make for some nice price moves when it finally happens.   ;D
good luck,

julia

Nice bounce today. Allowed me to add on the dip. I had sold all my position over .90 cents and added some in the low .70 cent range shortly after. Now I am building back my position. Today was very very good!!!!

I am also in EYII where it bounced nicely off the low .07 cent range....

I am feeling quite positive about each holding...

We shall see!!!!!

Me too, still didn't have time to listen to the interview the CEO of HYRF.OB gave. I will do that this afternoon after the open (all my work is done before the open).

I just want to acknowledge the spectacular technical behaviour of HYRF yesterday, coming down to close a big opened gap and then rebounding with a vengeance to close at the high of the day. Volume was above average too. It looks like a short term bottom is finally in place and we may strike at the highs again, since fundamentals warrant much higher prices.

Nothing new on HYRF.OB today, still with just $24M in market cap. Still didn't have time to listen to the CEO's interview, just leaving the updated chart:

To the candlestick pros,

Just for my own education...could yesterdays candle be considered a "hammer", of is the body too large ?

TYIA,

RJ

hi,
from american bulls:

Today a High Wave was formed. This implies a loss of sense of direction and that there is a great amount of indecision in the market.
not a hammer . the body is not big enough and too much upper shadow,

Hey RJ, I consider that candlestick a hammertype candle from my experience.  I think the technical japanese name would be dragonfly doji(although a doji has the smae open/close) but its the concept thats important, imo.

The concept is a rejection of a move south with a close near the top of the range for the day.  This doesnt mean the stock is ready for takeoff but that its being supported in this zone.  A break below this support would be bad but less likely after 2 hammertype candles showing support.

For hammers it is also important to judge the previous trend before the candle.  Hammers tend to show reversal so since the previous trend was down HYRF should be getting ready to move up.

I am getting ready to enter this one again.. lets see if it sets up with some volume.

Goodtrading  8)

Maxi....thank you for the respose..not sure about the American bull thing.
After reviewing the previous formations it would be logical to go with Elite's explanation and do so without emotional attachment (long this one). Thank you Elite, I will be studying this "doji" and " hammer" more. It seems to carry a lot of weight at times and seems to signify important tops and bottoms.
To me this is a great example of the greatness of this site  :)...may you trade well today,

RJ

HI RJ,
i think your right about that . certainly elite g has more experience than me and i liked his assement . i am also long hyrf so obviously i would like to see it bullish which i think overall it is,
thanks

Hey G, I too ready to re-enter what entry point do see? or are looking at?

lows seem to only go to .50's (.48) doubt if 40's are ever coming again.

keeping in mind if all things stay on track.

Thanks,  Mark

I agree with eliteG. Let me give you some specific rules of recognition for the hammer candlestick pattern (these are rigid rules, you can certainly be more flexible on your analysis):

Hammer - Rules of Recognition:

1. The small real body is at the upper end of the trading range.
2. The color of the body is not important.
3. The long lower shadow should be much longer than the length of the real body, usually two to three times.
4. There should be no upper shadow, or if there is, it should be very small.

Thinking about HYRF.OB, I enjoyed yesterday's action since the stock crossed over a short term descending trendline (I didn't put it on the chart before because I didn't want to scare anybody  ;)).

There was a form 4 filing yesterday saying this:

«1. On December 20, 2004, UTEK Corporation sold its Safety Technologies, Inc. subsidiary to HydroFlo Corporation for 3,485,000 unregistered shares of HydroFlo Corporation's common stock in a stock-for-stock exchange.»

This UTEK Corp sold 364,956 shares over the last couple of weeks. 3,485,000-364,956=3,120,044 shares isn't much but it can put HYRF's advance on hold over the short term.

I will hold the stock anyway, we don't know how much UTEK is going to sell (perhaps they already sold all they wanted) and given the fundamentals of the company I believe demand will outpace supply anyway in the next few weeks.

Nice day today for both HYRF and EYII.  I have that feeling that EYII has a little catching up to do. Maybe establish a new higher trading range before the contract signing. Maybe not as high as HYRF but somewhere in the .25 to .35 cent range.......

We shall see!!!!

Everybody have a nice weekend!!!!
