Looks like we're back in business now, nice.  :D

I think it's really hard to judge anything during this week between x-mas and newyears. Volume is low, so stocks are easily moved.

Still like SIGA, though.
Happy trading...

does SIGA fits in Aussie's STEPS?

Showing a lot of strength over the last few days. I think this will build a lot of confidence for whoever wants to buy in!

Just went below the 50 SMA and 20 EMA today. Might be a good buying opportunity. It could be risky though. The last day and a half has seen some heavy selling. I'm guessing the reason could be the overall market has been quite choppy and hasn't provided clear direction. So, a lot of money might be waiting on the sidelines for things to settle down.

Anyone still following this one here? Chart seems interestingly poised. Extremely low volume today. The stock has been pretty anemic over the last few days and has generally followed the NASDAQ lower. Hopefully, the IXIC will rally tomorrow and have us green going into the weekend.

The problem with the SIGA chart is it says clearly that it can't sustain any serious buying pressure.  Every time they release some good news it goes (or gaps) up like crazy and then just sells off, and you really don't know when the next news event that will cause it to jump will be.  But each time, pretty much everyone who bought in after the news event is under water.  I would call it a "jump n dump".  SIGA really needs to show some kind of uptrend before it looks bullish to me.  Otherwise it is just way too risky.

TA-wise currently it, looks to be sitting at the base of a descending triangle.  I suppose you could get a low-risk entry around 3.40 and hope that 3.36 support holds, and that uptrend starts forming, but right now I'm not too keen to play that kind of game.

Longer term it needs to break $5 on a closing basis (currently a long way off) to show that it has really broken out of this cycle.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Scottish. The reason I'm hopeful on this one is because the downside risk is a lot less than it was last month. For the past few days, the 50SMA, 20EMA and the 10EMA have been lying on top of each other and the stock has been hugging these curves as well. In fact today the 20EMA and the 50SMA are going to be intersecting. So, coupled with yesterday's low volume (the lowest it has been in the past few months) I think something is brewing. If anything, yesterday would have been the day for the shorts to push the stock down and they didn't.

Currently, Siga is conducting new animal efficacy tests, which should be released anytime. Plus, I believe Pharmathene's complaint will be thrown out soon as well.

Overall, I think this might not be a bad time to open up a position in this.

Doji day. The market was really brutal to most stock. Siga held up quite well. A whole lot of technical indicators went off today and yesterday (EMA & SMA crossing, doji). The volume was again really low. This leads me to believe that this stock has really bottomed out. The only other dues we might have to pay might be the 76.4% retracement of the monster move on Dec 20th from 2.75 to 4.95, which comes in at 3.27 (which we already hit when the Pharmathene lawsuit news came out on Dec 23rd AH).

We've bounced off 3.37 three times in the last three weeks. Every time that happened, we had a strong move upwards on the next day. However, the last time that happened, the 61.8% Fib retracement became the resistance. We have to see whether we can get past that this time.

Of course, I could be wrong and might be taken to the cleaners too. GLTA.

i think your analysis is reasonable - whenever you see a stock that doesn't get hit by a market wide smackdown like today, yoou gotta ask why.  Really all you need to do is set a stop loss you are comfortable with and ride it to see where it goes.  If you think it won't go much below 3.36, set you stop just below there.  You could be right and we amy see some positive movement.  My point before (I didn't mean to sound too bearish) is that I would like to see a bit of positive action BEFORE I jump back in this one.

Anyway, good luck with it!!
