Still holding my shares at a pps  of .139...and waiting it out...still hoping for the best :)

So...is the .08 seen twice on the charts here considered a double bottom...not sure if a certain time frame is required to make it a true db.  If so, how well does that indicate that a possible healthy move north is due?  As i'm wondering if i should add to my position to avg. down.

thanks

Julia, I would advise against the thought of averaging down.
That is something I never implement in my trading strategy.  ;)

Bad investors average down, buying more shares of a sinking stock to decrease the average price per share they have paid. This strategy is like throwing good money after bad, and is hardly ever effective. In addition, it magnifies your losses if the stock keeps dropping. Nevertheless, individual investors seem to continually engage in this practice. >:D

Professionals are much more likely to 'Average Up.' They acquire more shares as the stock price climbs and the momentum of the company rises. They see increasing share prices as a confirmation of their research success, rather than a profit-taking opportunity.

Good luck with your trades......  ;D

hi,
have to agree with setravis, averaging down seems like hope rather than a solid plan.

Thanks Setravis and Maxi  for ur responses to my questions:)

Yes..i completely agree with u, normally i do not average down anymore as Setravis pointed out "it magnifies your losses if the stock keeps dropping", and i have been caught in that situation in the past many times before  and lost alot more. :D  (although, sometimes it actually worked!) But, i was just wondering if in this case it was perhaps a good idea since it seems a few of u think it may be on the rise again..or bouncing off the support (or possible double bottom...rickjust says hard to tell at this point)...so, that was my reasoning.

Thanks for your suggestions telling me not to average down..sometimes u just need people to spell it out for u :D...as I often do ;D I also don't have too much invested in NIHK, so yes, better not to risk more just in case., becaue if it does turn out to be a mover one day, I can avg. up as Setravis suggested, and/or still be in the clear anyway.

glta!!

thank you!

I'm not in full agreeance on the "never average down" mantra. Many times it makes sense and I believe in saving some powder to get more shares at an average down point. For example, you buy XYZ at $5, which is a dollar above support at $4 but you're worried it might not pull back and could run to $10, so you buy. But alas it does pull back to support. So you average down at $4. Both buys are good. The buy at $5 gave you a long position if the stock did not pull back. The buy at $4 was at support. Just have to make sure to sell both positions quick if it drops below support.
GO IN THAT HOUSE OF PAIN THAT YOU SEEM TO WANT TO BE IN, BUT GET AWAY FROM ME.  I'M TRYING TO WORK, DAMMIT.

hi lucas,
average down on a normal retracement on a stock that is trending up is fine  but if the stock is trending down then the obvious thing to do would be to wait for a reversal . nihk looks like support at .08 but the overall trend is down , i would wait and see which way it goes over the next couple of days before throwing more cash at it.jmo
thanks,

Nighthawk Systems Continues to Sell to Nebraska Utilities

SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 10, 2006-- Nighthawk Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:NIHK), a leading provider of intelligent wireless power control and emergency notification products, announced today that it continues to receive recurring orders for its CEO-700 remote power disconnect units from Nebraska Public Power District. NPPD has placed two orders for CEO-700's this month. In February of this year, Nighthawk announced that it had also received an order for CEO-700's from Cornhusker Power of Nebraska.

NPPD first ordered from Nighthawk in early 2005 and shortly thereafter approved Nighthawk's CEO-700 as a stock item, meaning that field service personnel can request additional units without having to seek special budgetary approvals. This allows NPPD to keep CE0-700's in stock for use on an as needed basis, reducing order and installation timeframes.

The CEO-700 gives electric utilities the ability to remotely disconnect and reconnect power to electric meters, saving them significant time and money over the traditional manual disconnect/reconnect methods that require field personnel to be dispatched multiple times to customers' premises. A utility can often receive a return on its investment with one service disconnect and follow-on reconnect.

Yes, it's good that it closed above 200 MA and 20 MA but I hate to see that gap it created today.
We all know what usually gaps get...

hi,
it is not really a gap if you look at the hammer that occurred 3 days previous there is nothing really to fill. a good buy point may be a round .09 if  it bounces off the 13ema. chart looks bullish
