Wow, nice day for GNBT, NVAX and RHEO!

Since I am posting with Intraday, 3 months and 1 year charts with the template, I will do one stock per post (3SOF limits 4 pics per post).

GNBT had a steady climbing gain of $0.30 (18.52%) all day after a large jump up at market open and broke through the resistance of $1.71 early right at market open!  15 mil shares traded far exceeds the 3 month average volume of 3.6 mil.  New resistance is at $2.13 with support at $1.61.  With RSI above 70, I will be watching day-to-day for any profit taking activity.  http://quotes.barchart.com/texpert.asp?sym=gnbt

= update =I will also post Lycos I-watch activities that are applicable.  There was little or no Inst/Manager buy/sell activity the last week.  I-watch chart below is today's buy/sell request activity.
http://thomson.finance.lycos.com/lycos/iwatch/cgi-bin/iw_ticker?ticker=gnbt

Having said that, I also applied the mid-term template.  What I realized was the volume reported on the weekly chart only shows today's volume.  So I used the previous week's volume for the mid-term (we need to work on this).

I am begining to think that GNBT may have longer legs.  We can add GNBT to the mid-term stock lineup during the trial period of the mid-term template draft.  Time will tell.   ;)

Nice gain day for NVAX.

NVAX closed up with $0.38 (8.26%) gain with 9.6 mil shares traded which is almost double the volume of 3 month average of 4 mil.  The resistance of $4.88 was broken through fairly early and support was never tested.  New resistance is at $5.42 with support at $4.50.  http://quotes.barchart.com/texpert.asp?sym=nvax

RSI is above the previous profit taking point and I recommend taking it day-by-day for looking out for profit taking activity.

= update = I will also post applicable institution/manager buy/sell request activity on Lycos I-watch.  http://thomson.finance.lycos.com/lycos/iwatch/cgi-bin/iw_ticker?ticker=nvax

I also applied the mid-term template to NVAX, and the analyst target of $6 may be very reachable.

RHEO survives another day of gain with a late afternoon rally!   ;)

RHEO gained $0.23 (6.3%) and closed at $3.88.  The 1.06 mil shares traded is slight higher than the 3 months average of 1.04 mil shares.  New resistance is at $4.15 with support at $3.45.  With additional day of gain, the technicals are improving.

There was continued institution/manager buy request activity on Lycos I-watch.

Well, well.  PXT recovers after early morning drop.

PXT recently went from $25 to $12 to $4 on $700 million loss from the hurricanes.  ($12 to $4 drop was caused by increase in loss estimates from $400 to $700+ million)

What got my attention today was the 10 mil shares traded which is way above the 3 month average of 1.2 mil shares.  I am curious as to what's going to happen to PXT.  $700 mil is a lot of money to lose.

Lots of sell requests by Inst/Managers today on I-watch.

 ;D...xlive...

Everyone's been waiting for the "drive to five" since the "hype" pop. Wasn't in the last one, stacked up pretty good in the stock now though...

I've got long term shares in 3 of 5 ports I direct or control...traders in the other two. I would expect NVAX to have a fairly rough time closing and holding $5.00 this week, but Earnings PR was announced for March 1st PRE-MARKET!!! The CC will be at 10:30 same day...NVAX does NOT do this!!! If you did not listen to the webcast of the Bio Investor's Conference last week, and are serious about the stock AT ALL...I would suggest you do so. Rahul is hard to understand when he speaks normally, and is very difficult when he's excited, which he was (at least to me) during this 25 minute presentation.

He let several cats out of the bag, and hinted at several more. There is so much good news going on here I cannot fathom being out or short this stock for the next 90 days, minimum. Conservative price target for that time frame (IMHO) is $8.50...

Here's the link, have a listen...

retvet24,

I know, the NVAX CEO's speech is hard to listen to.

nica33,

Price has been falling with corresponding RSI drop.  Volume has also fallen to low levels and MACD is falling from positive towards negative.

If you are looking to buy, I would recommend that you wait for 5 day MA to rebound up or look for another stock with 5 day MA below 20 day MA that is rebounding like CNVX did early January.

If you are holding shares, I would recommend you sell.  For this swing trader, I would cut my losses and regroup and look for other stocks.  There are sooooo many other stocks in the similar price range that are actively gaining!  ;)

= Mid-term swing trading template update =

I spent some more time looking at the mid-term template draft.  If you look at the IOTN 1year weekly chart below, you can see that bottoming of MACD with corresponding RSI bottom works well to indicate a longer term gain cycle of 1-2 months.

GNBT closed unchanged at $1.87 after high-volume early market open profit taking with a strong recovery.  5.7 mil shares traded is higher than 3 month average of 4 mil shares.  New resistance is at $2.00 with support at $1.74.

Longer term, technicals are very bullish.  With Avian flu spreading and news coverage increasing, GNBT has demonstrated to be one of the leading Avian stocks in addition to the oral spray non-injectable insulin product they market.  I am considering GNBT to be a longer-term hold.
